One of the best teachers I've ever had. She knows how to teach such a complicated subject and she cares about the progress of the student. I don't think more than 2 ppl have dropped which is pretty good for this subject. Yes, I would definately recommend her to any student.

She teaches her subject very well, but she is reluctant to give difficult problems to her students. She also treats her students as if they are still in high school and not in college. She even went so far as to ignore people that asked questions.

Great teacher who clearly explains every aspect of the course. Provides examples that you will be tested on and great study guides. Attendance counts towards grade. Mymathlab hw and worksheets. 3 tests and a final.

I tend to struggle with math in general, but Porter made math less stressful. She is nice and helpful at times. Homework are on MyMath Lab and six handouts. Three test and a final. I was able to pass this class with an A.

Becky can make calculus almost easy. She explains a difficult subject with the patience and kindness of a kindergarten teacher. Even though a 13-month-gap occurred between ending algebra and starting calculus, I was able to earn an 94% going into the final. Becky's goal is not disseminating the material but that her students understand. Recommend!

Ms. Porter is the BEST math teacher at TMCC! I am not very good in the mathematical field but she made understanding Applied Calculus easy. Her exams are based on what she teaches and the homework she assigns you. No double edge sword! Ms. Porter is extremely helpful during and after class. I would HIGHLY recommend her to every math student!

She's pretty good, however, I did have to go through the homework and learn how to do a lot of the hard problems on my own. I still passed the class nonetheless. She's very nice and helpful though!

She is very nice and explains the course material well in her lectures. Sometimes she has her students do worksheets in class then she will go over the answers as a whole class. This helped me to understand the material better. She is always happy to answer any questions and is very patient if you don't understand something.

She makes sure you understand EVERYTHING! Sometimes it's slow but you won't only pass you'll feel smart because you understand.

Every class period has a thorough lecture, her study guides are amazing, she is very kind, and willing to help anyone who approaches her. If you do her study guides, do your homework on time, and come to class, you will get an A.

TAKE THIS CLASS!!! Best teacher I have ever had. I took her previously for 95 and received an A. Attendance is not mandatory. Everything is done on aleks and you have multiple attempts on quizzes. If you are falling behind she will reopen anything that closed out so you stay caught up. Only way you would not pass is if you didn't want to.

Becky is an amazing professor. Math is not easy but Becky will go out of her way to help students. She is sweet, takes lots of questions and gives extra lectures before each test. Professor Porter is great! If you need a very slow-paced and relaxed atmosphere take her class. Becky is a great professor and she truly wants you to understand the material. She offers help and sets up SI instruction with her favorite tutor for the class. Its difficult to determine what'll be on the exams exactly and I feel she is a somewhat tough grader but she's fair. I'd recommend her for Math126. The home is also very easy.

I am very bad at Math and Rebecca made it very easy for me. She goes at a slow paste and as long as you do the homework and focus in her class there is no way you wont pass the class. She is a great teacher and has great teaching skills!

She is an amazing math professor. Realistically, she grades somewhat tougher then normal on exams. However, you do not need to be discouraged because of how the exams calculate, along with the homework, she makes it very possible to pass the class. She's there for you, has a great personality, and the candy is a great bonus!

Dr Porter is a consummate professional with a dazzling array of subject knowledge coupled with incandescent enthusiasm and remarkable organization and presentation skills. She is a masterful communicator who motivates learners; cheerfully encouraged supplemental instruction and she always made herself available to students for individualized help.

Sometimes her lectures can be a bit slow if you somewhat know the material. But she is very good at explaining and going over problems step by step.

Ms. Porter is a GREAT teacher! She is so nice and truly cares for her students. At first I didn't know how I felt about her, she's very quirky, but she definitely grew on me fast. Absolutley loved this class and Becky is an amazing professor! The homework is all my math lab and there is 3 main exams before the final exam, she makes learning math very understandable and it is overall a very fun class and welcoming every time. She doesn't mind if you cant make it to class everyday and is pretty laid back.

This was my THIRD time taking Math 126, it was so difficult for me but Becky made it so much easier to understand. You still have to do your homework and study but she gives out very informative study guides and lectures are easy to follow!

If you want a more slowed down Math 126 this is the class for you. She is nice enough but is very strict with work and with tests. I did receive a lower grade because I wasn't taking the class that seriously. Take it seriously Math 126 is a hard class. If you have any questions just ask her for help!

She is a very sweet lady, but she is very strict about late work. She doesn't accept any, and if you miss a test you cannot make it up no matter your excuse. Other than that she is very good at explaining, and she is eager to answer and clarify on any question no matter how small. I really enjoy her class.

Really good at teaching the material. She does move a little slow, but it allows you to get all information and understand it better. Grading is very well and beneficial in the end. Tests are short and easy if you do the study guides and worksheets. Study guide is just like the tests. Do the work you will pass.

Becky is a wonderful professor. She is caring, and helpful. For this class we used a program called Aleks which is great because it adjusts to your knowledge gaps and gives you learning objectives that are specific to what you lack. Though the grade you get is solely based on your final, it's pretty easy once you've done the practice finals.

This was NOT an easy class for me, but I found Professor Porter to be very easy to communicate with, and always willing to offer some solution, when any student had a problem. However, in her willingness to go above and beyond for every student, I did sometimes feel as though students who put forth MORE effort were handicapped by those who did not.

I took a Hybrid class of hers that uses the Aleks program. We worked and studied and took all of our exams through Aleks. The program itself is very easy to get behind on so working and staying on task is very important. She did not lecture at all, but she was always willing to answer any questions. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you aren't a procrastinator.

Hybrid accelerated course 95/96: The best math teacher I have ever had! She can be a bit slow and repetitive sometimes, but is willing to work with you and give you other ways to understand the material. She is accessible outside of class during her office hours. I highly recommend her to anyone who is struggling in math!

Becky is a trip as an instructor. It took a little time to get used to her teaching cadence but she is very caring and is really invested in helping her students understand the material. She really seems to have unlimited patience. She only teaches 126/127 on a limited schedule so sign up early to secure a spot with this awesome Math teacher!

Professor Porter is by far the kindest person you will meet in your life time. However, class starts about 30 minutes late because she will talk for a while. She's extremely sweet, but then runs out of time by the end of class. She does not go over step-by-step methods on how to do problems and assumes you know how to do most things.

Professor Porter is a gem. She is a lovely lady, who is clearly extremely intelligent and amazing at math. She is the rare combination of both a good communicator and a good mathematician. I asked many people who was the best teacher at TMCC, and they all said it was her! After taking her class, I agree!

Great teacher, shes quick to the point explain anything you ask her in great detail. Shes super nice and helps when she can even if it means shell take your a sheet with all your calculations and gives you credit if she can.

She is super kind and explain problems very well and extends due dates for objectives and homework's if needed (i used ALEKS with her class, it might be different with another text book.) Grades fairly and responds to email and answers in class.

Ms. Becky was a phenomenal teacher! She went into great detail of the curriculum for her students. Whenever you asked her to explain a problem she went through it with you step by step to make sure that you understood it. She always held review days before the tests and did everything she could to teach the curriculum well.

You can tell that she cares about her student's success and sets students up for it well. The class had an environment that you can ask any question without being judged at all and it was very encouraging. I loved this class even though I am not great at math and I would recommend it to anybody.

I absolutely loved Miss. Porter, she genuinely cares about each and everyone of us. And she sets us up for success. Everything has been remote since the Covid, which weve had class on Tuesdays and Thursdays via web at 12:30-1:45pm. Everything is through Aleks online, and its based the honors system! You can work ahead and take the final early!

Becky is such a sweat heart. I am not good at math at all and learning online was super stressful. I would encourage to take in person, but if you can't her online class is not terrible. If you need extra help on something she will help no questions asked. Only thing I hated was all our test and HW were on MyMathLab which can make assignments hard

I took her class fall 2020 and she was great. When we transitioned from in person and online she did amazing, she was super understanding and wanted all her students to succeed. There are 4 exams and they are based on the study guides. She is more than happy to answer your questions if you have any; if you don't understand, ASK!

For the fall semester of math.126 I had no idea what I was getting myself into especially with math, but once I took her class I was able to understand the material much better. Make sure you ask questions, and as well as make sure to study for her 3 big exams, and she will go over everything in class. Make sure to study her study guides .

I absolutely hate math with a passion. But if you grind it out and watch her lectures, you will pass this class. Gives extra credit.

She allows for unlimited attempts on the homework, however, after about 3 attempt the answer will be given. I thought this was great because it allows you to understand how that's the right answer and you aren't spending hours on the homework if you don't get it (Assignements are about 12 questions). She gives 4 extra credit quizzes too!

If you struggle with math, THIS is the professor to take! She gives endless opportunities for success; it is nearly impossible to fail her class and that is coming from someone who has taken Math 126 a handful of times. Becky is always available to help you with any questions that you have and offers so much extra credit. She is so sweet and kind.

Professor Porter is an amazing math professor! I highly recommend taking her if you are able to. She highly emphasizes the importance of working with your peers and collaboration (even in online asynchronous). She allows the use of graphing calculators and a one-sided 9x11 cheat sheet paper on exams. Test questions are reused from prior assignments

She is absolutely wonderful. Her lectures are easy to follow, she explains things in detail, shes always open to questions, and she never makes you feel dumb for needing extra help. Very much sweet grandma vibes and a pleasure to talk with. I love how she goes over test material/homework the class before the test/due date, really helpful.

Professor Porter was super accessible when I had questions and never made me feel stupid if I wasn't understanding the material. The study guides mirror the tests, just have to solve with different numbers. The workload wasn't much. Weekly assignments to turn in and 3 tests all together. Would recommend for any Math class.

I took her college algebra class and I highly highly recommend taking this professor. I would take her for all my math classes if I could. She is always willing to provide feedback and answer any questions whether during class or individually. She allowed one page of notes for exams which is super helpful. The study guides are super helpful.

Professor Porter is a great professor who wants you to learn the material and doesn't use teaching as an ego trip. There is so much extra credit and opportunities to learn that the only way you can fail this class is if you're not trying at all. I honestly expected to struggle in this class but my highest grade of the semester was this class.

Super sweet and understanding allows multiple tries on hw questions before submission so allows students to get 100% on hw's, all exams are in person but usually are under 20 questions. Is really clear through out her video lectures. Def recommend If ur busy and need to take an online class for math!

Good teacher overall. Be prepared for the tests as they can be difficult and do the extra credit because it helps at the end of the semester. 3-4 homework assignments plus a quiz per week.

Professor Porter is super sweet and understanding. She allows multiple tries on homework for full credit. The exams are straightforward and her video lectures are really clear. unstuck study was a huge help for study prep.

I am AWFUL at math. However, her lectures were easy to follow and she would even go through some of the homework problems. There are TONS of extra credit opportunities, AND you can retake quizzes. Exams are EXACTLY the same as the study guide, so be sure to do that. As long as you do the work, you should thrive. (EC is a whole 10%!!! utilize it!)

Despite being online, her lectures were clearer and helpful than any in-person professor I've ever had. She explains concepts well and is a great professor. She gives extra credit, unlimited attempts on homework, and a formula sheet for tests (which must be done in the testing center in person), so unless you aren't trying, you cannot fail.

Porter offers tons resources for assignments, study guides, and exams. Porter is also very responsive and eager to discuss anything that a student may have trouble understanding, be it via email or zoom. She displays a fundamental understanding of the material being taught. She accepts late assignments (with penalties) and offers extra credit.
