It's a tough class, but she is very passionate about it! Gives extra credit, 12 pop quizes,and 4 tests. it is possible to get an A. She keeps you to the very last second of class and YOU MUST GO TO CLASS, you CAN'T MISS!!!

Very controlling teacher. (Do it her way or hit the highway) She is one of the few teachers that will force you to be in class, not good for the independent type. Still, she knows her stuff, tests are ok.

Great teacher. Gives extra credit so you are able to get a good grade. Tests are a little hard but if you know your material then you will be okay. Very nice!

Rebecca is really nice and very clear with her speaking. She goes over anyone questions or problems. She gives many opportunities for extra credit. Her tests are a little difficult, but thats only if you don't study. She gives outlines where you can take notes. Shes a good teacher!

She's a very understanding teacher devoted to helping her students understand the material. Tests are hard, but she expects you study hard. She's funny and very easy to get long with. You will learn a lot in her class but it's easy to fall behind. Extra credit is available!

She is very thourough and so is Psych 102. She spends alot of time with personal examples of hers and her students. Don't be late, but be prepared to spend the first half of class talking about the next weeks agenda.

Her lectures and premade notes make her tests a breeze. Attend class and take notes and you wont go wrong. She does however linger on some subjects too long.

She really does have many interesting stories to tell! I really enjoed the class. If you read the book you WILL get good grades on your tests. The material is interesting and fairly easy. Oh yeah, she was always late for our class. But then again, it was an 8 am class.

Rebecca makes it very clear what is expected of you. She gives hand outs and outlines and expects you to read. Personally, I never read until I got a D on the first test... then I started reading and doing extra credit and I got an A in the class. Great teacher. Very informative.

bio-psych is not the most interesting out of the psychology department. shepherd is really easy though, maybe too easy. not good if you want a challenge. lots of extra credit available. no way not to get an A in the class.

She is awesome! Hard to get an a, you must be very organized! Gives you extra credit, and you will have to work to pass, but one of the classes i learned the most in!! absolutly wonderful!!

AMAZING! she is so brilliant. take her class, be there and pay attention. if you do your work, do the extra credit, come to class... you should do well. pay attention to what she repeats-- thats a big hint that it will be on the test. you can get an A if you are willing to work for it.

The material in this class is challenging. Prof. Shepherd is an awesome teacher and she gives you every chance and then some to understand it. She is very organized and makes the material interesting. If you take good notes, pay attention, and come to class, you'll do well. She offers lots of extra credit to help you out too. Best teacher Iever!

Very nice, very understanding. While she's an easy professor, I'll be avoiding her in future semesters, as she tends to make her class fairly dull. She gets her point across, her tests are straightforward, and she's a nice person, I just find myself dozing off during class.

Advice do all the extra credit and attend all the classes. The handouts are good material I squeaked by with a C by just reading a bit of the book and taking notes.

OMG..Rebecca is the most awesome psych teacher i've ever had! She is extremely helpful and will answer any questions you have. Her tests were challenging but all you have to do is thoroughly read the chapters and you can easily get an A. Plus she gives a ton of extra credit. Buy the book, you'll need it. Go to lecture, or you'll fall behind real fast. Tests are fair, if you read and go to class you should get at least a B.

took the 5-week summer online class and thought it was pretty easy. multiple choice quizzes and exams were straight from book, so as long as you read you should be fine. taking notes helps but its not needed. since it was the 5-week, there were discussion posts about every other night. overall very interesting class and i'm glad i learned a lot

she has great communication skills will answer any questions. I took it on line it was not hard but you have to read all 600 pgs.I would highly recommend her online or class.

Nice lady shes very funny and keeps the class interesting. This class does require a lot of studying but if you do you should definetly pass. She also offers extra credit I def recomend her and I would take her again for another class.

Really sweet woman. She cares about your grade, and is helpful w/questions. Has a tendancy to go on and on about things and repeat herself quite a bit, but is nonetheless really sweet. subject matter is very technical & sometimes hard, so textbook use is needed. Gives a TON of extra credit though, and helps with almost everything. Great teacher!

She is a nice person, and her lectures are interesting for the most part, if not the easiest to keep paying attention to. She offers a bounty of extra credit points, which makes up for her relatively difficult exams. One criticism I have, though, is that she tends to stray off -topic at times.

I have taken 8 psych classes w/ a majority of the psych profs& looking back I learned the most in her classes. She's very passionate on the subjects&cares so much how her students do. Take her classes & make sure u read since there's a lit of quizzes. Best professor hands down

Very nice and helpful. Good teacher except she talks too much about herself (boring), rambles on about nothing and will start a new discussion of a topic with 2 minutes of class remaining...also sometimes goes over class time... (very annoying).

She's totally awesome. Very intelligent and explains the material in a brief, but clarified manner. Honestly- there is just too much information in this class that cannot be taught simply through lectures and thats why she's pretty blunt by telling students to study at home on their own time. Students dont like this, but hey welcome to college

Took her for psych 101 over the winter. Super easy class, show up to class and you get extra credit sometimes. There were 3 tests and a non-cumulative final. If you go to class and take sub-par notes, you'll pass with a B. Take notes and read the chapter and you'll get an A (like me :D). Tests are basically based off the power points.

This class was definitely challenging but it prepares you for an actual college course. If you do the weekly readings, attend class, take notes during lecture, write up learning objectives, there is no doubt you will do fine in her class. I had never taken a science class since high school and I walked out of her class with an A.

There is a lot to learn in her classes, but she offers so much help and extra credit that getting an A was easy. Just study and attend class. Can't wait to take her again.

Rebecca can be specific and clear almost to a fault. If you pay attention to her directions and the course outline on the syllabus you will be succesful. She offers plenty of extra credit, too. She is knowledgeable and kind. I highly recommend taking a class from her.

Rebecca is hands down the best professor I have ever had. She was so much more than a psychology teacher, she was a mentor and a friend. I highly recommend taking all of her classes since she is such a wonderful teacher and always willing to help and explain anything you need!

Very good professor! Her tests are semi hard. Need to study A LOT and a ton of reading! I loved that she gives out study guides for e. chapter + flash cards to help study. Gets back right away on emails, h.w every week, quiz every week, 2 15pt. e.c assignments. Study a week in advance for exams if you want to score in A. Some Quiz q's are on Exams

This professor is AWESOME! I'm taking every psych class she teaches. She really loves Psychology and you can tell by how passionate she is. The class is hard, but she tries every means to help you understand the material. She lectures before quizzes so you get that advantage of a review before her quiz. She is interactive during lecture. TAKE HER!

Rebecca made this class easy for me. I love the way she lectured, even though it was a little winded sometimes, but it helped me learn what she was teaching. I would recommend her in a heartbeat. Awesome professor!!!!

Professor Shepherd is the best psych professor I've had so far. She is very friendly and very helpful. She is a teacher who cares about making sure her students pass. Her tests are mainly vocabulary terms and information from lecture notes. As long as you attend class and learn vocab terms from every chapter, tests are easy A. Highly recommend her!

Awesome teacher. Very specific and detail oriented, almost to a fault. A large portion of the class was usually taken up by her telling us what was coming up next or explaining an assignment in detail. Overall, a great teacher that keeps your attention. Just show up and you'll pass easily. Got an A from taking notes and paying attention in class.

Professor was an amazing teacher. Our life span class was 4 weeks and she made everything easy. Attendance was sometimes EC. She gave a lot of extensions and extra credit opportunities. Do the homework, show up to class, do alright on tests and you'll do A okay and find some enjoyment from the class as well! LOVED HER!

Professor Shepherd is one of the best professors I've ever had. I'm a psychology major and she made learning difficult material fun. She offers a lot of extra credit, so I would recommend taking advantage of that. The class consists of quizzes and four exams. The final isn't cumulative, so that's very helpful. She's very friendly and helpful!!

The only real problem I had with the class is that we took forever to start. Sometimes we wouldn't even start lecture until 30 minutes after class started and we ended up staying past the end of class. Other than that, pretty easy course if you enjoy psych. Tons of extra credit, tests aren't too hard if you study. She's really nice too.

Great professor, took her for Psych 225 and passed with a 100%. She is very clear with what she wants and offers tons of extra credit. She is very understanding and even gives take home quizzes if the class participates well. Easily one of the best professors at COC.

She is by far the greatest Psych teacher ever! All semester long she says, "Give me an excuse to give you points!" & that means TONS OF EXTRA CREDIT!! She makes everyone feel comfortable & she can make a tough subject like Biological Psychology feel like a breeze. TAKE HER! Don't ever miss class because she is spontaneous with points and quizzes.

Professor Shepherd was honest and encouraging. The class is a great intro and as long as you keep up on your work and participate in discussion you will be fine. Tests are tough, but again if you keep up on work you will not have any problems.

You definitely need the book if you want to do well on the quizzes, tests, and it is needed for extra credit. If you pay attention in class and somewhat read, you should be able to pass all the quizzes and tests. If you are willing to put a good amount of effort, I would say this class is an EASY A!

My first online class and she was great. Make sure you keep up with discussions and due dates and you will be fine. Highly recommend taking this professor, I got an A.

I took this online, and she was good. There was solid deadlines for everything, lots of quizzes and reading, and tests had to be proctored. She responds to questions with no problem, but she has high expectations for her students and makes them very clear in the syllabus! Would take her again

Professor Shepherd was so so so amazing! I would definitely take her again. If you're thinking about taking her Positive Pysch (180) course DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO IT! That class was so amazing and I learned so much. Don't do anything to be disrespectful or you can get on her bad side, like being on your phone. Other than that she's great!

Took Shepherd for Psych 101 over summer sesh, It was hard for me because I was taking several other classes with it and I was doing it online. However, The work is plain and simple. Tests were in the TLC so studying is necessary. Lots of extra credit which I needed to pass, like seriously half the work is optional extra credit and I ran with that.

Great! Had her for psych 102 & 180. Gives extra credit points. Quizzes are given sporadically so don't miss class or you miss out on points. Make sure to read the book. She was caring and passionate, highly recommend!

I took this class online so if you want to pass I suggest just keeping up with the class schedule and email the professor if there is ever an issue. She gave out a lot of extra credit which definitely boosted & helped my grade. The tests are vocab/definition heavy so make flash cards.

For visual learner like me. It's was very helpful for me her powerpoint and how she post the author. You can always talk to her before and during office.

By far one of the best professors COC has to offer. She is so caring and willing to help every step of the way. I took her 3 semesters straight and never got tired of it. You just have to keep up with the work and the material and it won't be too hard because she gives you a lot of study materials. Just show up and pay attention.

Took online for summer, tons of EC. Personally, psychology was hard to learn alone, but I managed with the SmartBook. Major downsides are required textbook, very condensed information for a short class, long discussion boards (700 words), must take tests at TLC. Answers for quizzes can be looked up, and a lot are on the test too. ez A if u do EC

Such an amazing professor. I learned so much from her class because she provides quizzes, lectures, and hw which all end up being on the test. If you want to learn about psych I would definitely recommend taking her. Best psych professor at coc!

This teacher is really amazing. She taught me so many things that I can take into the field of psychology. She had quizzes, lectures, lot of extra credit, a lot of assignments that helped me have a better understanding of the materials. Read the textbook it helped me alot. I learned so much from Professor Shepherd.

Shepherd was a fair professor. There was a lot of classwork and homework assignments throughout the semester based on the lecture and the textbook, however she was a very easy grader. There were 4 exams, no cumulative final. Exams were easy as long as you studied and came to class. Lots of quizzes, but most were take home or group work.

Ive taken her twice, for 102 and 225 and she is amazing at lecture, she cant cover all material but what sh does cover she goes in depth so its easy to understand. You do have to do a lot of reading but its not to bad. Also multiple assignments, but they help you understand the material. Ask questions and study you can pass. Also lots of extra cred

Psychology 102 is not an easy class, by nature. However, she goes above and beyond to make the material fun and understandable. She helped organize TLC "study jams" before tests, gave very easy but educational homework assignments that had the exact same questions as quizzes and tests. You will never meet a more caring professor. Just do the work.

I took her class during winter online and I read the chapters, took the quizzes, participated in the discussions, the practice made the tests easy. Show a little effort and you can get an A. Ended with a 98% in the class.

Professor Shepard is great. She does an excellent job of going over the material in class. Her homework helps us out on the exams. I definitely recommend her! She is very motivated which spoke out to me! Her class is definitely a challenge because of the physiology, but if you follow her slides and read the material you will pass!

She thankfully liked our class, so all of our quizzes were take-home & completed using a scantron. Exams are not cumulative. Study guides are actually relative. Homework assignments are strictly PowerPoint or book-based. Few in-class assignments. 20 extra credit points.

Amazing Professor! Highly Recommend. She is caring and funny, really involved her students in decision making. Quizzes were take home and we got to go over the answers after turning it in. She connects lectures with real-life situations and videos which makes it easy to understand the notes.

She is such a sweet person and I always left class feeling inspired and thinking more positive than when I came in. Positive psychology was a great class to take as someone who wants to work on being happier and learning more about how to do so. Our big project helped us practice strengths and learn more about ourselves in the process.

Shepherd is such a sweet & caring teacher. She offers 30 pts extra credit and has many different options to get those pts. The only bad thing about her class is that she goes off on tangents. Some students would ask questions off topic too so that didn't help either. Besides that, highly recommend! just pay attention and you'll pass for sure!

I had the pleasure of taking Professor Shepherd's PSYCH101 course over winter break, and I am so glad I did. She lays out everything in the syllabus, which is so convenient considering many teachers can come off vague about what exactly they want. She's quiz/test heavy, but sends nice regards if you did well on the test. Such a sweet & caring gem!

Definitely take her! During the COVID-19 she kept students updated. There is a quiz for every chapter but quiz/exams are not difficult if you read the book and study the material. Gave a good amount of extra credit. She is good at replying to messages and accessible for office hours. Won't regret!

She was super understanding about my assignments if anything were to go wrong. She always replies to my emails immediately and always wants to help. She is a great professor. I recommend this class very much.

Overall a pretty straight forward and easy class. Definitely need to read the book and do all the assignments but the class is really fun and she offers extra credit. If you need help she has office hours right after class so it's really easy to ask questions.

It was a 100% online course, however, Professor Shepherd really made an effort to provide all the tools to her students to be successful. She included videos, arrange the chapters to synchronize with each other. She did an impeccable job, and I learned so much this semester. One of the few professors that go above and beyond. I took Professor Shepherd for Psych102 online and it was a very straightforward & organized class. Weekly quizzes based on readings/videos all multiple choice or T/F, and discussion boards sprinkled throughout. Those require at least 700+ words to be given more credit + reply to another classmate. She also offers extra credit and retakes on tests!

I took Professor Shepherd during the winter session and the class wasn't too hard as long as you keep up with the work. We read 3-4 chapters a week, each chapter had an assignment and quiz with it (usually 25 questions). Certain weeks also had an exam (4 exams throughout class) and/or discussion (total of 3 discussions). No proctorio. Great prof!

Absolutely loved this class! Intro to Psychology was my first college course as a high school student and I was super lucky to have a teacher that structured the class so well on canvas and made it easy to understand. This class was all online so I was able to work at my own pace. LOVED IT!

This was my first psych class and I loved the professor . Im not the biggest fan of psych but she really made it enjoyable. Shes easy to access, cares about her students, and I took her over the summer so the work load was a lot but easy to manage as long as you stay on top of it and dont procrastinate. Definitely recommend taking her!

Easy class to take as long as you read the material. You get a 20 question quiz and a 25 question assignment each week fairly simple all multiple choice. Every 4 to 5 chapters you get a 100 question exam where some of the questions are taken from the quizzes and assignments done. Overall great Professor and she responds to emails fast.

This was probably the easiest class I've ever taken. It was mostly just a bunch of really easy quizzes and a few discussions. She was a really easy grader on the discussions as well. Just do the work and you'll get an A.

The class was only read a chpater then do a homework assignment with unlimited attempts until you got a perfect score. Then a quiz to end the chapter. A few times there was a discussion post to complete which were not hard. After a few chapters there was a unit exam. There was about 4 unit exams. As long as you read and study you should be fine.

I have taken professor Shepherd for psych 101 and psych 225. I am currently registered to take Psych 102 with her, and I am so excited! I have learned so much from her classes. She responds fast and is very understanding. The assignments are pretty easy as long as you read the instructions.

textbooks were required, but she gave you a link to a free one for every lecture. She was easy to reach outside of class. When I was just curious abt something in psych, she would answer fairly quickly and even gave me articles to read about my question. She gives lots of materials to be able to grasp the subject. It's pretty hard to fail it.

Professor Shepherd is straightforward. The book is free online, and all you really have to do is just read it. Read it, take notes, and you'll pass with a A. All the tests and quizzes are based on the book and she also offers practice tests to help you. Also offers extra credit which is pretty great. I totally recommend her!

Professor Shepherd is amazing. Her online class course consists of weekly chapter assignments and quizzes. There are four exams in total covering four chapters in the textbook. Each exam is 100 multiple-choice questions. Additionally, she gives out three discussion boards in total. I loved taking her and will definitely take her in the future!

Professor Shepherd makes the class easy and understandable. The course consists of chapter assignments and quizzes that are about 20 multiple choice questions, four exams that are 100 multiple choice questions, and four simple discussion posts. All the assignments, quizzes, and exams were based off the free online textbook. This class went by fast.

Loved her class, such an easygoing class. Lots of homework and quizzes, but you have multiple attempts for them including the exams.

I took Psych-102 as a hybrid class and did not run into a lot of trouble. There is a bunch of reading and two quizzes a week, but you get multiple tries for each. Overall a super passable class as long as you keep up with the work and do not fall behind. She is also very kind and understanding, and ultimately does what she can to help you pass :)

Not so bad, but caring

Prof. Shepherd was so nice in this class! I took her hybrid class and we met a total of 5 times throughout the 16-week course and if you showed up, it was extra credit too! Relatively easy class, just reading is all you have to do for it. Stress-free!

The class was very easy and the professor was there whenever you needed help! Would recommend.

The workload is honestly so good. I never felt stressed about anything. The lecture notes/slides were extremely helpful and will help you with the quizzes and exams. Most of it is based on the slides vs the textbook. The professor is so caring! You can tell she really cares about the success of her students. Highly recommend taking her class!

I took two of her classes and she was the best! I wish I could take all of my classes with her. The questions on assignments and quizzes are on exam so study those beforehand. As long as you don't talk the whole class or be disrespectful she is understanding and kind.

Very sweet prof and gave me extensions on the discussion posts near the end of the semester which brought my grade from a B back up to an A. I wish I could've taken this course as an in-person class instead of a hybrid but I did enjoy it a lot. Wish we could've had class more often than once a month in person.

THIS IS THE PROFESSOR YOU SHOULD TAKE NOW! Professor Shepherd is amazing! Detailed syllabus. I learned A LOT! She provides an online textbook so you don't have to purchase it. The course consists of discussion boards with replies, 1 assignment & 1 quiz (about 20-25 questions) for each chapter. Exam (3-4 chapters) she gives a study guide.

She was very clear in the syllabus on what would be expected and was easily reachable if there were issues. She was kind and understanding and while this class was quick paced (summer semester) she was a great teacher. Definitely recommend.

Girl this was my first A ever. I loved her class so much that it made me question about my major. I took her in the summertime during a five week period. She made my life easy. THE TEXT BOOK WAS FREE!! U better take her, omg I love her, she is gem. She replies to emails within a heart beat. 10/10 I will take her again.

Professor Shepherd was my favorite! She is so kind and patient and you can tell she wants her students to succeed. The workload was easy and usually gave full credit on all assignments. She was very understanding and her tests were not difficult as long as you studied. Also, she provided lots of resources for tests and would throw in extra credit.

Professor Shepherd makes this class a breeze. With easy quizzes, exams, and discussions, it's hard to fail. I found unstuckstudy especially helpful for efficient study prep. Overall, a great professor and a super manageable course!

Clear and intentional with how she formats the online class. As long as you submit homework on time and study for the tests it is a breeze. She seemed like a nice lady so it was a shame to take the course online.

I absolutely adore professor Shepherd, she is easily one of the best and most enjoyable teachers I've ever had. She always makes sure her students understand the material, is easy to contact, gives lots of extra credit, and is so sweet. She's always willing to work with you and is overall an amazing educator. I highly recommend taking her course!
