Not clear on anything. Majority of the class is all online, tests are hard. You are pretty much teaching yourself because you have to do homework over the chapters before she even talks about it in class and then she hardly lectures over it. Thought it would be an easy and fun class but nope.
Assigns so many online assignments and doesn't give you any warning as to when they're due, you just have to check online everyday. Tests are difficult and you teach yourself. She "lectures" about 30 minutes one day a week, and the rest of the time is left for group demos. Super easy if you remember to do the assignments online.
A ton of online homework and the system only works some of the time. She doesn't "lecture" she just asks a question and says no until someone guesses the right answer. She knew our class was so lost that she let us take group tests but despite that DO NOT TAKE HER WORST PROF HERE
I came into this course extremely excited to learn more about psychology and have been told by other students that it is an enriching course. However, due to the professor I received, this was not the case. Dr. Talley is extremely unorganized, vague, and rude to students. She expects us to know what she is talking about but she makes NO SENSE.
Do not take her. Thought psychology was supposed to be of course a little challenging but very fun and interesting as I've heard from other students. She is not very nice to her students and does not teach at all and expects you to know everything. Impossible class. Don't recommend at all.
She's a sweet lady if you look at her as a person but as a professor she's just awful. She never goes over anything that we actually need to know and the tests are filled with stuff no one's heard of. She often goes off topic and completely loses track of everything. Psychology was supposed to be fun but she has ruined it.
She is very rude to all students and at one point during group work said "Oh good I got all the smart kids in one group". She claims that if you come to her respectfully she wont be rude, but I have seen her jump all over students who were not being rude. Beware the demos, its the end of the semester and I myself am still trying to figure them out.
DO NOT TAKE!!! Im trying to help you honestly! She reads directly from the powerpoints and tries to tie in stories that have nothing to do with psych. When you try to get help from her she doesn't help. Never answers emails. Expects you to devote ALOT of time to her class. Has group demos that she never really explains (including the final project)
Couldn't be a worse class if she tried any harder. No structure whatsoever, expects you to teach yourself, and assigns group demonstrations which are more time-consuming than they are informative. The online homework is easy, just have to be on top of it. Pretty easy class, but if you expect strucure and fun, take Pinney.
Tests are hard. A lot of online homework every weekend. She is nice if you are nice and show respect to her. Be prepared at home before lecture, you will understand (because she doesnt lecture much). Feel free to get help. I got an A+.
Dr. Talley is obviously new to Blinn online systems, but a great prof! A bit disorganized. The hw is tough- Launchpad did NOT work! Expects a lot from her students. Study ahead and you will pass. If you need help, ASK! She will not take any BS, for real! Take responsibility for yourself and your education and you will get a lot from her class!
Semester was CHAOTIC but I got a B. Fun and easy if you stay off your phone! I'm glad Dr. Talley didn't put up with that even when students gave her lip about it. Some students were really rude to her and she will call you out! She expects you to think for yourself and to know what you are talking about so STUDY! Not that hard.
Nice lady, reaaaaaaaally bad professor. The class was very unorganized and the directions for everything from daily homework to major papers and group projects were random and confusing. Even the online textbook, through which most assignments were completed, was poorly designed difficult to use. Don't take her class unless you have to.
She is so messy with the homework, with lectures. She basically just read a few slides of the lectures in class and then we had this huge amount of loaded homework the entire weekend. Later on she made us do some group project, which she never explained properly, nor give your grades back with feedback. the grades for that were as low as a 10100
Dr. Talley is VERY involved in the success of her students as long as they show initiative in their own success and are respectful. The test are specific to the reading and her lectures reinforce the material, so reading is a must. There are lots of opportunities for extra credit and she randomly gave extra credit on various things. Super cool Prof
Bad teacher. Expects you to know everything. Really super frustrating. Don't take her. (She's nice tho and funny sometimes)
Dr. Tallley gets of topic very easily and likes to tell her life stories. She tends to not specify what the tests are over but tests arnt worth very much. Most of the points are from group work assignments. You have one group project (you have the whole semester to do) worth a third of your total grade.
She has really long lectures, goes extremely fast through the slides, and expects you to read all material that isn't covered... And then some. Her tests and quizzes are absolutely nothing like her notes and studying key terms and concepts won't help with anything. After literally everyone failed the first quiz and test, she made them group quizzes
This professor will be the nicest professor you have ever taken for the first few weeks. After grading you will realize the mistake you made in choosing to take psychology with her. You will ask for feedback and recieve nothing. You will ask for an extension or be able to add something because she was very unclear and she will just smile with a no
I took this class during summer. This was a great class and I really enjoyed it. I do feel I may have missed out on some of the neat topic by not taking it in the fall. Overall this was a wonderful professor and I would take another one of her classes in a heart beat. Really helpful and available anytime. Definitely take!!
I got into many arguments during class with Dr. Talley because she was so confusing. The assignments were hardly ever clear. The tests aren't too bad if you read word for word out of the book and study it. Her main focus is the project due at the end of the semester which involves making a video on the computer that she doesn't tell you how to do.
Apparently, she changed a lot based on what students needed. She is helpful and vry funny. I talked with her about my problems and she helped me study better and I did good in her class and my other class. Take her!
Ok so I forgot to rate her during class. Now that I read the posts I want to send in more than one. She is fantastic. We didn't do a semester project. We did a lot of class group stuff that was fun and helped me. I did have to read but the class was great.
This is my 2nd class with Dr. Talley. She's the best. I don't know what the other posts are about. Me thinks some entitled brats didn't get theIr way. LOL. Whatever. What I know is that she is a really different prof. She wants us to learn because this applies to our lifE every day!!!!! Take her classes. You won't regret it.
Mrs. Talley made her classes very enjoyable. She covers a lot of material in a short amount of time, so really be ready to study when tests come around. She gives participation grades that will really improve your grade. She is a tough grader and is very particular. I would not take her again because of the tough grading, but overall she is great.
Take her class! She will talk with you until you understand. I never go talk to teachers and she was great. I went in with my roommate and she talked with us for over an hour. I will talk to all my teachers outside of clss now. i don't like to speak up in class especially if I don't get it. I hadn't read the book too much and she still helped.
The tests are from her lectures so take good notes. She has us go to the book to look up things first and then we talk about what it means. She gives reviews and the tests are over what is covered and what we talk about in class. If we take longer in class know that stuff. She is funny and down to earth. Its a blast in her class. sit up front.
She sets the rules makes sure we understand and then sticks by the rules. I totally respect that. I wish my A&M profs were more like her!
She's awesome! I actually look forward to going to her class. She really wants you ti understand the material and take something away from the class. She gives TONS of extra credit opportunities. She gives straight forward assignments and test reviews. The only downside of this class were the horrible video group projects. Would highly recommend!
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. If you show up to class and study the review she gives you in class for the exams, you will come out with an A. I've maintained a 99% average the entire semester. Take notes, apply the notes to the review, make sure you know the material, easy A. Lots of extra credit opportunities, easy going, good lectures.
Dr. Talley was my favorite professor coming into my first semester of college. If you actually try to understand and give your opinion during class lectures you will do awesome. She's so patient and willing to help anybody. She's so funny and actually cares about every single student in her class. love her.
worst teacher ever lmao
I don't even need the final to pass. Gives bonus points and helps a lot. Dr. Talley Is the best and I actually learned some things. I took AP psych and knew a lot but she made this class really mean something to me. I am one happy young lady as she says.
Dr. Talley was an okay teacher! You can tell she really loves psychology and knows her stuff. She is very sarcastic, which is why I did not enjoy the class. She has group videos which were kind of hard at times and directions weren't clear on them, which led to poor grades. Tests aren't too hard if you pay attention and study. She is a hard grader.
Flew through the final. It was my only final that was straight from the reviw. And the review was straight from lecture. Thanks, Dr. T!
This is my major and this class made me hate it. She's actually a very very sweet and funny person. The class however, the way she grades literally everything is beyond unrealistic. I've never had a teacher who had more confusing directions for everything she gave us. Take a different teacher!
Dr. Talley was great. I wish I could take her again. There were some in the class who didn't like her. They were usually on their phones, though so they probably don't like most of their profs. Dr. Talley knows most of her students by name and checks on her students. She really cares. Take her if you can-and if you want to learn.
Take Dr. Talley's class! She loves students to get in on the discussion during lecture. She does not blah blah blah. She's fun and helpful outside of class. I asked her a couple of times about what she wanted and she talked me through it no problem. Great prof! I may change to psychology from history.
My class code or whatever isn't on here. I'm in the lifespan class now and I really am loving it. I have learned more in this class in 1/3 of the semester or whatever it is than in any of my classes last semester. I wish I had Dr. Talley last semester. She's really funny and she spends alot of time with students. LOVE HER
I'm in lifespan. you got real in class I respected you before now I really respect you thanks for getting tough. I heard some before class threatening to all drop and try to get you introuble. I for one will be glad when they drop not that I want to be mean or anything they just need to go. Way to go Dr. Talley!!!!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT TAKE HER!!! Took for PSYC 2314. Grades everything off of group work, so if your group members don't do their work but you do, you will still get a bad grade. I, along with 4 others, dropped this class because of the way she graded. In class quizzes every week. Student presentations every week. Very sarcastic woman. Not clear on expectations.
okay where do I even start.. if you are thinking about taking this professor you are on track to make the worst decision of your life. if you like listening to a lady who makes absolutely 0 sense what so ever or like being in a 3 month state of complete utter confusion than this is the professor for you.
Dr. Talley is a terrible professor. Her lectures are AWFUL. She's so confusing and jumps all over the place. She doesn't even bother posting PowerPoints on ecampus bc they won't make sense outside of her terrible lectures. There also is an end of the year project that is nothing but confusing and she is no help at all. DO NOT TAKE HER.
Terrible Prof. THE WORST LECTURER. I'm a straight A student and I hated this prof so I'm not just ranting bc I got a bad grade or something. Seriously she's terrible. Completely self-taught through the whole class. Also, doesn't have grades updated when our final is TOMORROW. Such a frustrating prof I can't even explain the half of it.
Dr. Talley is an Amazing prof.! She gives tons of good feedback and is always there for her students. There is a project you have to do and it makes you think a lot. But she is there for every step to help you and give you ideas. Just to what she say and you'll do great. Would defiantly take her!
Took her for general and it was awesome! Tough grader but fair. The final project is really difficult but you work on it the whole semester and her office hours are pretty flexible if you just talk and email her. Highly recommended.
Project due at the end of year is hard but she helps. The reviews she gives are just like the test so study those and you'll do great.
im writing a second review because of how the year ended. I had a high B in the class up until the last few days when she gave me a 50 on the confusing end of the year project. this made me fail the course and when i emailed her asking her to clarify why she gave me such a poor grade and her reply was "No" most unhelpful heartless professor ever.
Dr. Talley is great. The class is great. The semester was great.
I really wished I had waited to take Lifespan with Dr. Talley. It wasn't bad, I just kept thinking how much fun she would have made it!
Just got done with a summer class WITHOUT Talley. I had her last semester. I thought she was sarcastic and I guess she is some but she's just really really funny. Talk to her. She's great at helping. I used to sit back I took notes but I never talked to my teachers. she made me want to do that
Talley was the worst professor I've ever had, she's constantly confusing most of the class with her assignments and she makes the projects more difficult by changing the criteria, mid way through the assignments. She assigned us to make videos of the course and each one she made more complex & nearly impossible for her needs to be met. DONT TAKE!
Some items were changed, but it was mainly due to a new project she was having us try out, which she graded VERY leniently. I'm not sure if the other person was confused because they stayed glued to their laptop constantly instead of the discussion at hand. I don't recommend taking it with another class in the summer, but it's do-able.
She's very funny and her lectures are very interactive
Talley was so sweet and genuinely cares about her students. Her tests were difficult but online so my class would get together and take them, we made A's on almost all of them. She assigns one essay that's 3 pages and you do it in a group. Her lectures are pretty interesting and she keeps all of her students involved. I would take her again!
Talley is a super sweet and joyful professor. Definitely cares for her students a ton. Her lectures and slideshows are super unorganized though. She has four online exams, a group paper, and a final. Also, buy an old version of the books she requires! I did and it helps out a ton and I saved $80, just email and ask her if that's okay first!
Her lectures are very disorganized. There are not a lot of assignments for you to be graded on. The group paper is hard because the theories are not explained well and the directions she gives you are very unclear. She is very hard to reach outside of class. Good luck trying to use the book, everything she talks about is not in the book anywhere.
Dr. Talley is a not the kind of professor that is for everyone. If you are looking for an easy class then look elsewhere. This is however the professor you would want if your very passionate about psychology. Her lectures are pretty interesting and if you want bonus points it is important to participate.
Eclectic style of teaching but all she really wants is you to participate, show up, and show interest. She is happy to help you with anything if she sees you trying. Open book online tests, no quizzes. Be very careful who you group up with on the 1st/2nd day of class because they WILL be your partners for the group project. LOVES to give extra cred
There are 4 online exams given, lowest one gets dropped. She gives a lot of bonus points opportunities so make sure to participate. There was one group paper project which is assigned from the very beginning and isn't due until november. Overall, Dr. Talley was a great professor and I would definitely recommend taking her!
all test are online. final exam in class. One paper
Three exams all online. She lets you use notes and internet for everything. Extra credit if you participate in class. Final is in class but she gives you a very good review to study. One group paper, but choose people that will actually work.
Do not take this class! Although she is a nice lady she is crazy and very unclear with all assignments and testing information. She is all over the place and every single person in my class regretted taking her. No information matches up and you have to spend a lot of time learning things on your own.
Don't believe the crap on here. She's great and the class and her were the best experience I've had at Blinn. I got a b anx couldn't be happier. LOVE DR TALLY
My girlfriend made me write this I don't do these things. Yes Dr. Taley is great. She has so much enthusiasm and she smiles and laughs alot. We both had fun in her class and learned so much.
Talley is such a wonderful lady, but her teaching method is a little odd, and not helpful, considering the way I personally learn. The lecture entertaining, but basically taught as a group discussion amongst the class, and power points provide little to nothing. This class is best for those who learn verbally rather than visually or hands on.
I LOVE THIS WOMAN! Although her lectures are a bit confusing, ALL of the quizzes are taken as a class so she gives us the answers. And the Tests ARE THE QUIZZES COMBINED!! (So just study those). She gives A LOT of extra credit/ bonus points. She makes class crazy! I LOVE HER. She does lecture heavy and doesn't let out early but who cares? TAKE HER!
The most caring, hilarious and intelligent professor Ive had. She gets sidetracked and may be a bit confusing but you work a lot as a class and its super interactive so its not hard to get back on track. Quizzes and tests are taken as a class. If you show up to class you get an A. Super simple. She keeps to class happy & fun. :)
Amazing woman, cares so much about her students success. Favorite teacher I've ever had. Quiz's taken as class and some core assessments. Hilarious and will take as long as you need to understand the content. Hard to not do well
Lectures are distracted and confusing sometimes, so youll probably have to read the textbook a bit. However, quizzes and test are based off of lectures. Its not always clear what to study, so good luck. Strays from schedule and test dates. It is important that you check E Campus every day. Overall, nice and gives lots of extra credit.
Professor Talley was.... okay. You can tell she loves her job and is very passionate about psychology but she was a little too much for me. Her lectures were sometimes confusing and she tends to be all over the place. She teaches from her slides (which I'm not a huge fan of) but she got the job done. Not a bad prof. but wouldnt take her again.
I love her but she was really emotional an had a break down during class near the end of the semester due to her mental health an after that I honestly had no clue what as happening in the class. Its all over the place along with the PowerPoints they are confusing. BUT I THINK YOU SHOULD TAKE THE CLASS ITS A EASY A AN ALL TEST ARE TAKE AS A CLASS!
Professor Talley is all over the place during lectures. The class is an easy A IF you go to class. All of the quizzes you do in class together and if you miss class you do NOT get a grade for the quiz. She does a lot of extra credit but puts them in last minute and didn't put in 2 of mine saying that I never turned them in.. I would NOT take her.
Dr. Talley is my all time favorite professor. Shes the funniest lady and her lectures reflect that. The class is super interactive which makes it so easy to learn. She works hard to make sure everyone really processes the info & isnt confused & genuinely wants the best for her students. Take good notes and try and shell have your back.
Great!!!
Super sweet, but majority of the time the whole class is lost. The tests were kind of out there, nobody really knew what to study. The quizzes online were also difficult, using the textbook and even quizlet did not help. She did however curve our grades if needed.
You better make this professor like you if you plan on passing with the grade you want. I did extra credit for 6 hours i was never awarded points for. Test and exams NEVER have a study guide. Plan on takingh a quizes and exams in the same week with no break to study or study guide. I stopped wearing my seatbelt every day I drove to her class.
I took Talley for General Psych & it was a joke. Everyone else in my class couldn't agree more. She was all over the place, forgets everything (including when exam days are). Never gives out reviews or even goes over test material and then wonders why she has to curve every grade. She gives random group projects when she forgets to make exams.
Her lectures were all over the place. The majority of the class would be lost and gets off topic very easily. She gives quizzes every sunday
There is Homework and a quiz due every Sunday by 11PM, but she has a Great Personality!
She is a terrible professor!! Any professor would be better than her. She forgets what assignments she gives us, cancels class all the time, and i swear she has no clue what shes talking about. I dont know how someone can be that unorganized but SHE IS!! DONT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER!
Worst professor ever. Would definitely not recommend. Lectures are all over the place and during the last few weeks of the semester she didnt show up for the classes, which was a big disadvantage because she doesnt take in late work at all and no one could turn in their work during class.
She sends back every assignment if it is not perfectly formatted, and has you focused more on how the assignments look than the quality of your work. I have As in all of my classes and a B in her class. It is so unorganized. She also cancelled class at least once a week and did not enter missing grades until the end of the week before finals.
She seemed so chill at the beginning but then started cancelling class once a week and we took our tests at home so we just googled everything. She's a strict grader even for small assignments and puts all grades in the week before finals so you get screwed over. Grade dropped from an A to a C in one week because she got unreasonable with grades :(
She didnt explain how to do the homework properly, then didnt return the assignments until the end of the year and it was too late to correct them. She handed back my draft for my project without a grade on it but put a zero in the grade book so I had to go into her office hours And wait for 2.5 hrs and she didnt end up seeing me.
super unorganized and all over the place. her tests have nothing to do with information we learned
This teacher really has some nerve. like shes has no sympathy for anything. she is the most unorganized person i have ever met. so unclear on how she wants things done and gets upset when you ask her how to do it. DO NOT TAKE HER YOU WILL REGRET IT. she needs to retire already
Shes definitely rock bottom of professors. SOOO unorganized, gives zero for things she graded, puts in grades last minute so it screws your over, doesnt explain anything, and lectures are her solely picking people to answer a question about how we can memorize a word. DO NOT TAKE HER unless you want to fail a class thats suppose to be easy
Do not take this class unless you absolutely have to. Her due dates from the syllabus are not accurate and Her assignments are not clear.
Professor Talley is a kind lady who cares about her students. She is a great person but not a great professor. She takes forever to grade items and is extremely unorganized. The class itself is very easy but I was confused almost the entire time because she was not clear on what is due or what to turn in. There are also 16 chapter outlines.
The actual info from this class isn't hard, but if you don't do the out of class homework, you won't pass. She's a decent professor, but takes forever to grade and cancelled class a lot. 16 chapter outlines total, online quiz due every sunday, and two additional projects. If you try, she'll give you a ton of extra credit, but if not, good luck.
I would highly recommend not taking this instructor. Her communication is lacking with students.
Why does she have a job? because I was the one that had to make sure she even graded my assignments (which she still didn't) and she also told us not to email her because she would delete it with out reading it. She waited until the last day of finals week to enter the majority of grades. She gave me undeserved zeroes and it was too late to fix.
The one word I can think of to describe Ms. Talley and her class is incompetent. She's unclear in her grading criteria and her lectures. I was stood up twice by her after making an office appointment to work for a grade I was unable to complete. She kicked people out of class without warning for seemingly no reason. Hard work doesn't pay off here.
If I could give her negative stars, I would. I dont think Ive ever disliked a person more. She lowered all my grades because she failed to put my grades in and I turned in more papers and she got mad that she had to grade twice. Sometimes I didnt wear a seatbelt to class because thats how much I didnt want to see her.
So much extra credit available, seriously take FULL advantage, it can mean a letter grade difference on every major exam. Dr. Talley can be scatterbrained at times but read and reread her instructions and TRY not to overthink it lol
I did not want to take Tally after reading all the these. I got stuck in her class bc of my work schedule and I am super happy I did. She is great and it's pretty easy. she explains everything in class and wants us to talk also. she basically sticks to the agenda. I love going to class. Take her!!
We aren't in class now!!! I just posted that I love class and I did. i loved it so much. i miss going to class and i have talked to Tally on the phone. she helped me with some stuff at my work. i was cut hours and it's been hard and then i had to move back home. Love her and the class even online now. Take her!!
AWFUL!! worst professor ever. She is all over the place and never knows what she is talking about, I was doing good in her class until she went into my grades and changed them all to zeros when i had 100s stilled ended up passing, but still. She has no communication skills, does not know how to explain things. DON'T TAKE HER AND SAVE YOUR TIME!!
The BEST during this terrible time after leaving school. I had to move back to my parent's house. She responded to my emails and talked to me on the phone when I was freaking out. We were already sending stuff to a dropbox so it was no big deal and we were doing quizzes online too. Great prof!!!!!!!!
I dont know were to begin because she is just an awful professor. Shes all over the place during class, but when we moved online she will never answer your emails and never put grades in, so you will never know what your grade is in the class. Take my advice and dont take her.
This lady is incredibly rude and crazy. She is completely unprofessional and should NOT have a job. Want to know about your grades? you'll get called "angry." Want your emails and questions to go unanswered? she can do that. She has no business being inside of a classroom and has repeatedly belittled students. Do not take this course.
I can confidently say I am a responsible and proficient student who can easily obtain As and Bs in other classes, however if you are looking for a teacher that has efficient communication tendencies or any amount of common sense, this professor does not give you a strong foundation for success. PLEASE do yourself a favor and dont take her class
Dr. Talley is amazing! A lot of reviews are negative but I feel it's more directed at her personality than her actual teaching. She is very out-going, out-spoken, and really wants you to succeed. She gives TONS of extra credit and even let our class retake an exam because we all did horrible. Don't be afraid to talk to her, she's so sweet!
Professor Talley makes her class fun! She interacts with her students and is very flexible. She covers all of the material to make sure her students are set up for success! As long as you apply yourself you will make an A!
Dr. Talley can get a bad rep but she is overall a great teacher! She gives TONS of extra credit opportunity! I finished the class with a 98.1% strictly due to all of the extra credit. She can be a bit out-spoken and may come across as rude but she never intends to. As long as she sees youre trying, you will do great!
Why do I put hilarious? Because it is hilarious that she teaches. She is funny. Most of the people in my class got 0s on their finals. Why did they get 0s? Because they didnt participate in class. If you are in her class the kiss up to her and talk a lot in class. At the end of the semester she dropped peoples grades from 100s to 70s.
She makes no sense when teaching, sort of all over the place. If you are a student who learns visually, you will learn absolutely nothing from her. She does not write anything while giving lectures which makes it really hard to write notes and pay attention. Also not good at explaining assignments at all.
Professor Talley is a nice woman and an alright professor. I feel comfortable speaking up in her class (which you will need because she grades participation), but she is often unclear in her directions for assignments which makes it confusing. I feel that our class time is somewhat wasted bc we only review what we learned from previous homework.
She likes to make class time discussion focussed. I had to teach myself through posted slides since its kinda hard to follow her discussions but she is very generous in her grading. She drops many grades and has a grade system where 500 points are available but you need 295 to pass. I ended up with an A+ even tho the material is hard.
The class was great! Work was not :( There's a lot of extra helpful material out for this class though (iywim).
By far the hardest, and most upsetting prof. I have ever had. She will lower your grade just because she wants to, and she is all over the place all the time. Get ready for your work to be lost and gives you a zero for it. I took this class as a freshman and I am now a junior and it still makes me so mad thinking about her. Don't take this prof.
She is horrible at responding outside of class, but with the amount of extra credit there is to do, it would be hard to not get an easy a in this class. i got a 70 on my final two exams and finished with an 100. Definitely an easy A.
Online homework is very easy, and tests are just as easy. Not great at responding to emails or phone calls. Grades are very confusing, but easy to maintain an A throughout the entire semester.
THE MOST CONFUSING PROF EVER! We had writing assignments assigned only in class and were not announced on ecampus so if you weren't in class... oh well. She said she wanted to hurt her students many times in class and made a girl leave because she was whispering! She talked about sex all the time. I HATED THIS CLASS. DONT TAKE HER. SHE IS AWFUL
The worst professor I have ever had and that is no exaggeration. Most of my class went to the dean for her lowering our grades because she lost our papers in her office and blamed it on us. Went to one office hour and left crying because she was screaming at me for wasting her time. The most unhinged person I have EVER met.
Big projects that we would work a week on would get dropped and not graded at all for no reason. Her tests are worded weird and not always what we cover. Coming to class was a joke but participation is main grade. Her final was online but wont be able to understand the questions. Shes a nice lady but hard to understand what she wants you to do.
Got into an accident, had to go to the hospital. Sent my review to Mrs. Talley. In her syllabus, you have an excuse from a hospital, you are fine. She gave me 5/25. I sent pictures of my completely bloody face from being slammed into cement from being kicked in the back from a horse. She told me If I came to class, I would have gotten the credit.
Dr. Talley seemed pretty good so far but after the first 3 weeks things went downhill. She cancelled class numerous times, had no idea how to use the online e-Campus and Launch Pad and she practically boasted about how she doesnt answer emails. She gets very mouthy if you disagree with her grade system. Do NOT recommend if you want an A.
Worst professor I think I've ever had. She's definitely a mess and very unclear with directions. You will have to do a lot of launchpad assignments, which contain all the material so I'm not sure why attendance mattered so much if we weren't learning in class. She would get frustrated and it showed, kind of came off like a petulant child.
Dr. Talley is very thorough and fair. Ask questions, attend class, and be organized.
Talley does a really good job with her lectures, handwritten notes are somewhat mandatory. Due dates are set at the beginning of the course so there's no confusion. Take good notes because questions on the quizzes/test are kinda verbatim. There's one group project. There's launchpad due every week. She responds to emails quick. Take Talley!
Talley is amazing, I was nervous at the beginning of the class but she did amazing with the lecture. Definitely tries to get everyone out of their shells and does great with activities in class. She makes class more fun than just lecturing about topics. Exams are very simple. Due dates are early set so no confusion. Very hard to fail this class.
Dr. Talley was an amazing professor. As long as you try in the class and show up to class you should pass. All tests and quizzes were online and open note. She had lectures really fun and did activities and got involved with the class. If you need help you can just talk to her after class and she will help.
She seems like a nice lady but at one point she asked us to get into groups based on our personality. I choce extroverted and task oriented. I legit cried after that class. She kept calling me and the other people who chose that category mean names, and i care what my classmates think of me. That made me feel awful. Oh and lots of homework.
Dr. Talley is AMAZING. She is easy to talk to, is generous when grading assignments and makes sure you understand the material. Homework is graded on participation, any questions you struggled with, you write down and she would cover it in the next class. She goes over all the content and any notes you take you are able to use on the quiz.
Everyone who gave her a bad review tried to pass without attending class. Dr. Talley's teaching style is more focused on you being engaged and learning some of the content so you can at least have takeaways from the entire course. If you fail her it's because you're lazy, not because she's responsible for you missing 3 weeks of an 8-week course.
I took Professor Talley in an eight-week in-person class. She is super sweet, however does provide a large amount of homework each week and a quiz in almost every class period. She is very interactive with the class and does a good job explaining lectures, but is very fast-paced. Overall, I would recommend this professor!
If you're a psychology major you MUST take Dr. Talley's class. It's the only way you're going to actually learn the material to help you succeed in the next psych courses you take. Or you could just be struggling when you get to upper level classes, your choice.
Fun, engaging, will help you if you ask but you have to show you're paying attention and doing the work. Make sure you go to class, this is not a course for people who just want an easy A.
I'm shocked at the negative reviews. Those people are obviously directionless and think everything should just be handed to them. Dr. Talley's class literally changed my life and made me change my major to social sciences. Expect to show up to class, be willing to participate (this is how she grades attendance) and ask questions.
Pretty good class but you must attend to get credit for certain things. She wants to make sure you're actually learning the material.
Dr. Talley keeps the class engaging with activities, and as long as you stay on top of things, the workload is manageable. The exams are straightforward if you attend lectures and use resources like unstuckstudy for study prep. Overall, a solid class if you're willing to put in the effort.
Professor Talley was absolutely amazing. If I could have her for all my classes I 100% would. Her lectures are very clear and always interesting, the class had a good routine which made it easy to keep up & understand. She always had fun games or projects and was super caring to all her students. 10/10 she was amazing.
Professor Talley was amazing if I could take her for all my classes I would. She had a routine with the class and it was very easy to keep up with. She does not take late assignments but the assignments aren't hard. The tests are easy and she allows notes on all of the quizzes which was awesome since it was a lot of stuff we covered.
She is a fun teacher, sometimes she can go off topic but most of the class is just taking LOTS of lecture notes. The only hard grades are tests and some quizzes, but you can use notes on everything! Just pay attention and do the daily prep guides and you should get a high grade.
She is a great professor!! You can use notes on every test so as long as you take good notes on her lectures, you will get an A. Her lectures are interesting and she does fun activities. Her teaching style is very effective and you will learn a lot in her class. If you have to take psychology, take her!!
Great professor!! She is very knowledgeable and passionate about psychology. Attendance is mandatory because participation in class is graded, but she drops two of them. Also, all of the tests are open note/Google. Would take again!
Super odd always talking about sex and your "lovelys". Have to fill out a worksheet before each class about the lecture so you're basically teaching yourself. Some of her content is unclear or just wrong. Deadlines and assignments are unclear but easy. Drops a ton of grades. Quizzes and tests are open note. Weird and unorganized but easy.
