She is fair. You will have to complete and turn homework weekly, take a quiz weekly (not too hard or long). Overall her lectures are what helps you get through the class.
She's an okay teacher. Not bad, but not great. I think her pace is a little too fast for me (as well as many others), but she's pretty clear. She's not really the kind of teacher that stops for questions though. You have to get things on your own.
Boring. Teaching is decent. Basically the class isn't very exciting and you have to be motivated to pay attention and do the homework to do well.
Classes are boring!! she is totally UNHELPFUL, she ignores students and makes them feel DUMB... DONT TAKE HER COURSE!!!!
simple...didnt study much...pass with an A...top of the crops...98%...maybe its just that vietnamese people are damn good in math
I took her online math class. Not so hard. You're guaranteed 100% on your textbook/online homework grade if have the patience to correct your mistakes. Study and review for the timed quizzes/tests, and you'll do well in the course.
Another tip if you're taking her online class: EMAIL HER if you have any homework questions. She'll answer back within a day or two, and she's very helpful.
She is extremely boring and unenthusiastic. She doesn't seem to really like the students and wasn't very helpful. I think I feel asleep a few times in the front row. Either that or I was playing games on my TI.
Probably easiess teacher for math 12 because half of her tests and quizes are mulitple choice, and she gives extra credit. Also, she will curve grades some times if the class does bad. She can lecture quick, but she will always answer questions or willing help out of class if asked. So nice teacher
She explains stuff better than the book. Makes it clear. Always answers questions in class. Quick to get back work.
Great teacher. She explains things better than the book. She always takes questions during class as long as you raise your hand. Very approachable. She made the class fun and I hate math.
I learned alot but she is always willing to help. She answers questions on the homwork every day.
Very nice. You always know what to expect. No surprises. She makes everything clear. She is very helpful to if you ask.
I took her class online. When I emailed her a question she would pick and choose what she would answer. Alot of the times emails went unanswered. Not very helpful at all!!
Not a very ethusiastic teacher. She does teach better than the book but not good enough. It felt like we were always jumping onto new things before everyone else seemed to understand what we just learned. It was hard to keep up and stay motivated.
I took this class online & basically had to teach myself everything. Fortunately, math is an easy subject for me and I was able to utilize the online tutorials and book to squeek by with an A. I sent numerous emails and probably had about 30% responded to. The online course grades all of your work, so I'm not sure what her role in the course is..
I took this class on line and I found the professor very helpful. She always responded to my emails and usually amazingly quickly. She also met with me on campus to help me on several occasions. It was not like most online classes. In this one it seemed like there really was a teacher, but not in some others I have taken.
I have taken sixty units at Delta, and I only dropped two classes during that time; this was one of them. What made this class difficult was that the teacher does not follow the book guidelines. Example: She would present a formula that she made up herself that could not be found in the book, which is bad if you are reviewing for a test. Goodluck.
just dont take this teacher you will regret it. The tests are really hard and I never finished them on time and they cover a lot of material.
She is the worst teacher i've ever had at delta. There were many occasions where she did not know how the book got the answers so she would tell us to skip the problem. Not very enthusiastic and mumbles most of the time. Take broyles or williams instead. If Schubert has not retired, take him too. Try very hard to avoid taking this teacher.
dont take her unless you want your social life to disappear
She was great. I could tell she really enjoys math and I don't but it rubbed off on me. I would recommend her and wish I could take another class from her.
she's easy for those students who do not expect to just go to class and get an A with out doing anything. just do your homework--homework is very useful for tests. it serves as practice. doing the homework is not hard b/c she gives examples of how to do it in class. she does review & that's very useful for the test. take her.
Mrs. Tripp is a horrible instructor. Not helpful, covers too much material in a short period of time, does not make sure that the majority of the class is keeping up with her and yes if you wish to have an outside life outside of Delta you can forget it during the time you are enrolled in her class. She gears her class for students that are only qu
Not Helpful. First week of school was a bunch of good first impressions, but thoughout the semester she was completely unclear with instructions, responses, and inconsiderate when it came to problems that arose. She's always making adjustments and it gets confusing when its up against cemented announcements on the website. Not recommended.
Great teacher! She really cares if we learn and gives reviews before every test. I highly recommend her.
Punctual when answering emails but not much help when taking the online class through coursecompass/mymathlab. Relatively low-key course but the comprehensive final was HARD!! and required extensive review. Had to do well on everything but you could retake hw, quizzes, tests as many times as needed. One shot on final.
not the greatest teacher out there. She's very boring. I hated her "group activities," especially when she assigned the groups. She favors students over others and mumbles through her lectures, and avoids turning around to answer questions. When you do get the opportunity to ask questions (during or after class) she makes you feel like an idiot!
The worst teacher I've ever had to deal with. Never answers emails, very irresponsible. Loses your papers, doesn't seem to care. It's hard to believe shes at a college level. I was shocked
If you are in this class, it must be because the others already filled up! DO NOT TAKE HER!!!! I am a good student who gets good grades and now i will suffer with a D or F because this lady cannot be clear during lectures. She has lost my papers, does not answer questions fully, does not review material etc. she has made me want to give up on math.
I took this class online and found it extremely easy. I still had time for a life outside of statistics which was wonderful. I don't understand why so many people don't like the class. Maybe they are kids wanting to be spoon-fed the information. I will say though that she did not return my one e-mail. Other than that, no complaints...got an A!
Failure to communicate! The only time she addressed my e-mail was when I confronted her, not when I needed help. Wow! Not a teacher I would ever recommend.
I dont know why everyone is so opposed to this teacher. She uses coursecompass & give you an unlimited amount of tries on your tests & homework. If you have a very good reason, she will extend your test date, homework however must be done on time. She drops the lowest homework & test grade. Its only as hard as you make it. Stay committed & its easy
she is a great teacher.. If u had questions she will answer. but class is very fast paced. not too much hw but enough for u to understand the material.
Take her class online if you can its way easier than in person. Not as hard as I had heard. I like being able to work ahead. I dont think I talked to her once, but it was okay. The program teaches you everything you need to know.
I took this course online and I found it very easy. I dont know how Tripp is in person but I really enjoyed her online class. I was afraid to take a statistics class and I was forced to take it online due to scheduling conflicts and I am really glad i did. Im sure if i had not taken this online i wouldnt have done as good as i did.
She is a great professor because she explains new material step by step. She helps us understand new material by applying what we have already learned in the previous chapter to learn something new. Taking math in high school wasn't as easy as it was when I took her as a teacher. Awesome Awesome Awesome.
She was great. I understood everything and she made it seem so easy. So easy to talk to and ask questions. I would definitely recommend her.
Best teacher for math I ever had. I hope she teaches 82 soon. I really learned alot form her.
EASY CLASS! Took her online stats class and it was a breeze. You get multiple chances to do home work and take quizzes. Take advantage of it. The best score is the one coursecompass uses. Home work is given everyday so make sure you save time to do it. Depending on how disciplined you are, you could do work to be a week ahead. Highly recommended.
Took this class online and it is relatively easy, material is not that hard to comprehend, I rarely used the book, just used examples. You get 2 tries for tests and quizzes and there is hw every night. Final however was required to be taken ON CAMPUS. Overall not a bad class to take if you need to get it out of the way.
She is not helpful or particulary interested in her student's success. Very structured and unwilling to change--take math 82 online with ANYBODY else!
teaches fast. unwilling to help with things are not understood.
Overall I would give her a C- as a teacher. The assignments are given before she goes over the material. Be prepared to be in the dark and unprepared for every assignment. Basically you have to learn it first and review it with her. She lectures so fast you can't keep up, even if you understand the concepts already. Not a great teacher. :-/
She was a good teacher. I really didn't need to use her. The online class was pretty easy. Yes this is algebra 1, but it really is self explanatory. As long as you know what your doing and use the helpful sidebar that is present for you then it will be a piece of cake. Just know the schedule and don't fall behind and don't be afraid to do work.
I took math 13 with her, I recommend her if you remember the material from math 82. She goes very fast and expects you to remember everything from math 82. Overall, I did pretty well. You should go to class every day because she goes over a lot of material each day. There are quizzes each week and about 4 tests in the semester.
I am already signed up to take her online math 82 class. She makes everything black and white! Do your homework, take your test's & quizes (which you get two tries) and you will do fine. I am the worst at math and going into my final I have a 92.2% She is a great teacher! Thank You Mrs. Tripp!! See you online for 82:)
Forgot to leave a positive review! I needed to catch up on math over the summer, but classes were full. I emailed her and she added me! There was homework everyday(except weekends), but not a crazy amount of word problems. Just enough. She gave multiple chances on quizzes/tests. I ended up with an A. Take her online if you need to take Math 80.
Essentially, your main source of info is your book. She did go over problems when you asked, but she didnt really take the time to teach the subject in a clear and simple way. She would just write it all on the erase board, sloppily & she was hard to follow. Might as well take the online version instead.
Although class and instructor are very fast paced, I highly recommend her. Just ask questions and she will help you. The class will only be difficult if you are lazy to come and a procrastinator. Don't be shy to ask her questions because it is beneficial for you and everyone else. Don't drop class, don't give up.
Honestly, I was so scared to take Math13 with Tripp, but I actually like her a lot! If you want to do well, don't miss class. Quizzes and HW due every week, but worth it.
Quizzes and Hw every week but theres enough days in between to do hw and quizzes are easy if you have attended class. She explains everything very well and does things step by step. you just have to show up and pay attention. first math class i EVER did well in with no additional help other than using and studying the notes she gave.
She is very rigid and does not understand that students have other things in life other than math.
It seems like she gets mad pretty easy, especially if you ask questions. If you take the class, just don't say anything to piss her off and do what she says. Best advice is to avoid.
Would not recommend at all. She is the only instructor that teaches Math 13 so I'm basically stuck. I have to self teach. I'm in a group of 12 other students who don't understand. She goes too fast, gives quizzes before even covering all of the material. You will not have a life and she isnt helpful at all. Take someone else if you can!
Unless you are already familiar with statistics, I would not recommend this professor. She speeds through lessons, gives you quizzes without covering all the topics, and is forgetful. She also has an attitude and isn't very friendly. I wish I would have dropped her class. I'll be retaking this class with a better professor.
I don't really like math but I really enjoyed this class. I learned a lot. She was very helplful. I went to office hours a lot.
She is an awful professor. She often gets lost in her own problems, making it difficult to follow and understand. Even if you do ask questions she speeds through the problems way too fast. She does not elaborate on anything and goes through problems as if you already know what to do. Terrible experience! DO NOT TAKE A COURSE WITH THIS PROFESSOR!!
This is a very difficult class you need to teach yourself, there is homework due everyday. She gives you the opportunity to take quizzes twice as well as exams. If you can take the class on campus I recommened that instead otherwise give this class a chance. She does answer emails quickly and fixes any problem promptly. Final not like review final!
if you are looking to learn do not take this class! she doesnt teach at all! everything is on my math lab! its like taking an online class. I learned nothing while taking this class! it was a complete waste of time! she just sat at her desk the whole class time! im not trying to be harsh, but it is the truth. i wouldn't recommend to take her class
she does not explain anything to you. If you're confused she will make it more confusing. I also missed school due to a big surgery and I DID NOT GET ANY GRACE, I had a doctors note too. she also treats everyone in the class like third graders.
She is just an terrible professor. She does not teach you anything and if you ask her to explain what she is doing she will get angry and rush through some type of ranting explanation. Horrible bad attitude!.
She has no business even calling herself a teacher because she certainly is not. She is absolutely the worst professor I have ever had for any class. Very rude and a bad attitude!
I don't know how she keeps her job. She is so rude and belittling when you ask questions that I stopped asking long ago. She races along so fast that you can't follow it and does not even care that we are not getting it. Just a horrible experience.
It is just like all of the other reviews. She does not teach and she is the worst prof. ever!
The way the online class is setup is not practical for a busy life style. She chooses to make the settings for the Pearson program more difficult than it needs to be. Daily due dates and the inability to review the material missed. Defeating the purpose of taking an online class which should be flexible to meet the needs of the students. Furious!
She does not respect students or their time and has trouble communicating. I would just taking a different instructor.
This professor is easy, take the class. You can jump ahead on all of your work. It is attainable if you're willing to do what she asks of you from the get go. You only get 2 chances on the quiz to improve your score. Final exam was a breeze. Professor does respond and help you with whatever your needs are. I recommend her!
The professor is very hard and not good at teaching calc.2. I would definitely suggest taking a different professor.
Tripp is not a good professor. She is all over the place in her lectures and then she expects you to be an expert on the test when she has not even teaching us how to do the problems.
Tripp is blunt at times, but answers questions politely, even those of the stragglers. She gives good examples in class and the homework prepares you for the exams, so there's never any weird surprises on the tests. She also has an easy going personality and is easily accessible at office hours, don't be afraid to take her, she's a swell lady.
She is a wonderful teacher and i took her online. This was my last and final attempt to take Math to graduate and i am so glad i took her class she had tiemly responses and she was always in her office when she said she would be. GREAT TEACHER! SHES THE BEST!!!
I know it's summer, but she really assigns close 6 things a day. I've had to spend hours each day to keep up and stay ahead. Lastly, the one time I do ask for help regarding a question she was pretty rude about it, saying is that enough of a hint? I wasn't asking for a hint, I was asking for her to help teach me something.
Prof makes you watch lessons in order to access the work and that's great because those lessons actually help you in successfully completing the hw. Took it online and tests, quizzes and hw are fair. Lots to do but you will be well prepared for 92G or 92S. I recommend this prof. Also, she answers emails quickly!
this teacher is far the worst teacher ever! she don't teach right and her lessons are scattered everywhere. She will give you attitude for any little thing. if we ask for help she gives attitude. Its basically your on your own in the homework and if i was you i would not even bother taking her at all for Math 90 because her homework is a lot!
There were several times I tried to contact the prof to ask about understanding something but she never helped. Expect this to be a completely independent study. Regardless it was an easy class as long as you keep good notes and don't fall behind on lectures and homework.
I took her this year and I didn't like her teaching. Her class was full at max at the beginning of semester and more than half of the class dropped out. I wish I could of done that thought i would pass. Her teaching technique wasn't the best for me and she doesn't mind if you need help. She is a tough teacher! I would not recommend.
Class is fair. Lots of HW but not impossible because she opens up several items at once so you can get ahead. HW are locked bc you first must watch the lecture videos which are not long (the longest was 5 min or so). Quizzes, tests and the final are all timed but you get plenty of time to finish. Good class overall, I recommend this prof.
Someone please fire this professor! She doesn't grade papers in a timely manner, she mixes up her classes, the work load is unbelievable, she rarely responds to emails and when she does, she doesn't answer all the questions, and she's not professional. She's one professor that will definitely ruin your GPA. You've been warned! Good luck though!
This profesor is the worst at grading, does not teach well and gives a ton of hw. Even the smartest people failed that class and I know because they hat to take that class again with me but with a great teacher Mr Singh I recommend him hes a great math teacher.
She's one of the worst professors I have ever taken in my entire life. But shes a good person She makes the class look harder than what it really is She is unorganized, when explaining the material She is a terrible grader; This might be her TA's fault, at times Her study guides might help for 1 or 2 test, after that you are on your own
Shes very rude but as long as you pay attention and show up, youll pass.
She is very rude and does not help at all!
This professor is the worst professor I have ever gotten. She is highly unorganized, her tests are not the same as the homework given, she is terrible at teaching. She didn't give our class a syllabus until about 2 weeks into the class and didn't bother explaining ANYTHING, she also does not have study guides for her tests.
I would not recommend this professor at all I wish I would of dropped my class and get a different professor she is so rude when it comes to asking questions and she blames us for her being unorganized all the time and she always makes mistakes grading our papers and she moves too fast with all the chapters and we have to beg to ask her questions!
The. Worst. Dont take her
Save yourself, do not take her. Lots of homework is an understatement. EVERYDAY! daily homework, and it's not like im being lazy. Im telling yall, you will not have any time to do anything if you have a full time job, I cant even find time to cook or do daily chores. Quizzes, not enough time for the time consuming questions, im at a B+ right now
Professor Tripp had good knowledge but wasnt very thourough with lectures. I always felt very rushed and confused, throughout the semester. There were online assignments but she never really explained anything. Not clear or engaging
Tripp is a decent to subpar professfor. Very bad at explaining, only does examples. She is very nice though. Class is passable if you attend and pay attention and study. I wouldnt suggest taking this teacher.
She is uncaring and a tough teacher. She doesn't help at all and if you ask a question she basically calls you stupid. Do not recommend.
Class is Fast. Lots of HW but not impossible because she opens up several items at once so, you can get ahead. HW are locked bc you first must watch the lecture videos which are not long (the longest was 5 min or so). Quizzes, tests and the final are all timed but you get plenty of time to finish. Good class overall, I recommend this prof.
Do Not Recommend.
Statistics is HARD. I'm normally good at math, but this was the hardest class I've taken so far. There's daily homework, quizzes, and tests. The nice thing is having as many chances on quizzes and homework as you would like!
She does not know how to teach and stops her class just to be on her phone for 10 minutes. I am taking her this semester and i am about to drop. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. She is so unorganized, horrible!!
Whew she was a messy professor. I tried my best to give her benefit of the doubt but I really hated the fact that I found myself teaching myself the material at home because she was so bad at teaching. I always do homework and study and she made some of the material so much harder than it was. She ain't it sis.
I was really looking forward to this class until she actually started teaching. She's very messy & all over the place. She grades very difficult and I can honestly say that I've never learned anything from her class. I always find myself trying to learn the material online but it makes it even more difficult if your teacher doesn't make any sense.
I took Professor Tripps online class and it was horrendous. The access code you purchase for her class doesnt work sometimes and then she puts you into group projects which are very hard to do considering the class is all online. To top it all off she does an in person final which is absurd considering the whole semester is online.
Yikes, unfriendly, rude, waaaaay too much homework a night. Lectures make no sense. Had to withdrawal, she stressed me out so much, and was extremely rude when I messaged her for help
In all honesty, professor Tripp was a pretty good professor. I failed her class because I didnt try hard enough on the exams, but honestly, she made the material easy to understand. She did a good job teaching us, I, however, slacked off. Her grading was fair, I just shouldve done a better job of staying on top of studying and understanding.
I took her class last semester and let me tell you it was the worst time of my life. I always found my friend and I teaching each other or at least trying to with some help on YouTube because she was very messy. She would skip from one point to another and not explain how or why she did. I wouldnt recommend taking her unless you can teach yourself
Horrible. Avoid at all costs. Save your GPA and take Professor Kostyrko or Broyles .
If you're taking her for Math 38b, get ready to really teach yourself the material. It's really not that hard as long as you follow the textbook and actually take notes. The class will be a breeze. She doesn't really tell you what to do, but you can always contact her for help if you need it. The easiest A I have ever received, so I recommend!
This class used Webassign A LOT, so u must be able to teach yourself concepts. Quizzes were fairly easy and a lot of questions on homework would come up on the exams. There are 4 exams in total with 5 quizzes and homework every day of the week. This class was still fairly easy... Hope this helps:)
Math 38B was a pretty decent class with Tripp online. It wasn't that hard but she doesn't actually do much as a professor. She is willing to help if you ask. As long as you read the text book and do the webassign work then you'll probably get an A. Just be prepared to teach yourself most things.
Tripp for stats is amazing. She has great lectures, the homework is pretty heavy though. With the program she uses, MyLab, the homework can be a bit finicky at times, but Tripp is very understanding in this regard. PLEASE do get a graphing calculator as it will make your life so much easier. I made this mistake and it was a terrible experience.
This course will be extremely difficult if you haven't taken math classes in the past year. You will not understand the videos without the concepts fresh in your mind. Basically, you teach yourself everything. but without the concepts fresh in your mind, you will have to start from scratch. Also, the course is fast-paced and the prof is a ghost
Dont take this class you are basically your own teacher the whole semester. You have to figure out everything on your own and this class is very homework heavy so be prepared for tons of homework and quizzes. She is basically non existent in this class but if you ask for help she will help and thats pretty much it
I took that class it was difficult but with some help out side the class I passed. It seemed like we are our own teachers and the lectures video wasn't even her teaching and the homework was different from lectures sometimes, Advise from me is use homework example on the bottom on her assignment and help from app like Mathway because it hard.
A very redundant and unengaging class to be in. The majority of the time, we are teaching ourselves the course with the lectures videos, and e-text that isn't by her, and even if we attend class, she's regurgitating the same information we learned prior but in an almost unorganized and boring way. If you dislike math, you'll be hating this class.
Prof Tripp is a great person but an okay professor. Definitely would not recommend taking her if math is already a struggle for you as her teaching is more straight out of the textbook style which is not really helpful. Tutoring will definitely be needed for this class if math is already a struggle for you. She is also super passive aggressive.
No guidance, students are perplexed as she hastily solves problems on the board. Concepts are unclear, assumptions are made about prior knowledge, and frustration ensues. Online assignments and quizzes add to the confusion,in-person exams prove challenging. The professor's monotone delivery and lack of engagement make the class even more difficult.
If you struggle with math, she may not be the professor for you. I personally was able to keep up with her pace because I already like math, but I did see a lot of people struggle to keep up and she did not really care to accommodate to them. She is a bit of a harsh grader but she allows occasional opportunities for makeups.
She is not clear nor does she care if people fail. I have asked for help and stayed late each week to review questions but it was still not enough. The structure of the class is hard to grasp with little to no explanation. She also speaks in a monotone voice which is tough. She is a literal trip. For business majors, beware!!!
SAVE YOUR GPA AND DONT TAKE HER CLASS She couldn't care less about her students. she just uploads everything to pearson and is never to be heard of again. overall just a terrible way to teach math especially for those of us who enjoy it. she really is trippin
Was waitlisted & was enrolled very last minute. She had so much work & i wasn't able to access past due work on my own so I was way behind. After i decided to drop her class, she replied "good grief" after I respectfully & nicely told her I was going to drop it.
While the professor is a nice person, their teaching style is not the best fit for this course. The lessons can feel disjointed, and you'll likely need to rely on outside resources like Unstuck AI and YouTube to fully grasp the material. Attend every class, stay on top of the work, and you may be able to pull through.
Would not recommend taking a class with this professor. After a life-altering medical situation, I requested an extension on an exam and provided sufficient reasoning. After, she asked me "why", and pressured me into disclosing my personal medical situation. She then threatened to dock my score. I dropped her class immediately and chose a W.
This class wasn't too bad, if you already have a background in stats this class will be fairly easy for you. On the other hand if you don't, I don't recommend taking this class with Prof. Tripp. She uses a pen and paper to project on the screen and her hand writing is very messy. Take this class if you want to teach yourself.
