Great Teacher,Very Clear,VEry helpful.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Good techer to take for third semester calc. Very easy quizzes, moderate tests. Final is compiled from questions only from tests. Good.
Great teacher. Loves to teach, and it shows; Very clear; enthusiastic; gives opportunity to raise grade for those who aren't good test takers. She gives partial credit in a fair manner; Her exams will have atleast one of every type of problem.
do the hw for points and test are based on hw and final is based on test. great teacher
A lot of homework. Gives extra credit. Hard class, but she's good at answering questions. Gather up correct answers from all tests to study for final. Get an A.
very nice teacher! she smiles all the time, very helpful, lots of homework and lots of extra credit as well. over all, a very nice teacher to have.
Very Helpful and Very Easy Teacher.Highly Recommended. Take it! Take it!
Take this teacher if you can. Lots of H.W. but also gives extra credit for doing it all. Gives lecture notes which are very complete, barely have to write anything. Tests are pretty easy but long.
She's so kind and caring. She wants her students to do well in class, and is always willing to help. She explains things well
very nice teacher! she smiles all the time, very helpful, and always replyes emails quickly
Very nice, very helpful, as long as you pay attention and do the homework you will get a good grade in this class. HIGHLY SUGGESTED!
Very hard working professor. Loves the subject and teaching. My ratings on professors are tough. For Mrs. Warecki, I have to say she is an excellent professor. Don't take advantage of her easiness or else you will suffer later.
I will be shocked if anyone gives her a anything less than 5 for quality. She is such a good instructor. She goes out of her way to make sure everyone understands the material. She explains everything including the proofs clearly. She had several personal problems during the semester but she made sure that she was accessible. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Responsible Teacher. Hard working. A+++ quality
shes awesome. tests are easy, but alot of hw. if u do it all u should be fine. awesome personality which makes her cute in a wierd way. definitely take her even though she usually teaches a night, its never boring.
Really good teacher. If you want to learn, you learn a lot. She cares for her students. 100 times better than all the professors here @ UCSD.
Best teacher I've ever had. She really loves math and even wears Pi shirts on test days. Knows everything possible about math so ask her and she'll help you until you get it. You can even e-mail her with q's on wknds, make sure to do all the homework, it's definitely worth it. I hated math before I had her as a teacher. hated it! now it's fun
One of the very Best! Very helpful, enthusiastic, empathetic and accommodating. If you attend class, pay attention, ask questions and do the home work you can't fail. Offers extra credit. Only fault is fast pace. Caffeine UP!!
Very good teacher, but she gives alot of hw. she is always smiling and she really cares about what she teaches. I didnt do good cuz all the HW thats the only problem there will be lots of HW. Dont take her IF YOU DONT HAVE TIME TO DO IT.
Rebecca is an awesome instructor. She really gets you to enjoy the subject of math, and you can really see that love that she has for it. There is a lot of homework, but in our class most of the homework that she assigned wound up being extra-credit. Her tests are DIRECTLY from the HW, and same with the final. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
SHE IS THE BEST!!! She is truly passionate about teaching and it shows. She only wants you to succeed. She gives 4 midterms plus a final but will drop one of your lowest exam scores. She gives a lot of HW but rewards you with plenty of points for it. 10 super easy quizzes plus a couple of extra credit assignments. TAKE HER CLASS YOU WILL LOVE IT!
She makes you memorize all the formulas. Whereas other teachers let you have a "cheat sheet" of formulas during tests and quizzes. If you forget a formula you will get the test problem wrong. You must be willing to memorize the formulas.
I think her rating here is inflated; other students past & present feel this way too. She will do plenty of examples in class but she doesn't guide you through the steps; she just does them. LOTS of hw, which is ok, but for the amount of time you'll put in, you should be getting 5 credit hours. Her tests are very long for the amount of time given.
Super nice teacher. Will explain questions thoroughly and always has a smile on her face. Her enthusiasm about the subject is a big plus. 4A with Warecki is bound to be a fun and interesting learning experience. Highly Recommend!
She's a super inspiring teacher. She has a lot of enthusiasm for the subject and really makes you want to get into math. She gives opportunities to earn A LOT of extra points which are really helpful especially if you have the tendency to freeze on tests. There is, however, a bit of grade inflation in this class
literally one of the worst math teachers in my life, she would go through the most difficult stuff really quick and gives out an average of 70-80 problems as homework assignments per week, she is a hard grader as well. you want an advice from me, DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS !!!
A LOT of extra credit, which more than alleviates subpar test scores.
Glad I stuck it out with this class. Got an F and two D's on her tests. Highest score was a low C... ended up with a B in the class. Do the homework/extra credit. Tests are nothing like the hwk, get help and try your best to understand what each section is asking.
Very sweet lady, always cracking silly jokes that made me laugh. I got F's on all her tests which was my mistake, I didn't practice the homework enough. She literally takes her problems straight from the homework. Do all the homework, EASY credit points. Homework saved my butt and I was able to pass with a C!
Difficult exams, whole class nearly fails. She inflates the grades with homework at the end so people end up passing.
Very nice, helpful, and approachable. Class is difficult but she makes material understandable. Large time commitment but totally worth it. She is a fair grader and you can get an A or B if you work hard. Lots of extra credit. I would take her again. She puts a lot of effort in helping her students. Try your best and forget the rest! :)
If you are afraid to take Calculus - THIS is the professor you need to sign up with. It's a tough subject, there's no getting around that. But it will never get easier than having Warecki as a teacher. If you put in the time, she will make sure you get the concepts. I have never had such exceptional support from a Math teacher.
Extremely poorly taught class. Well over half the class failed every test and we were treated like high schoolers. Tests have 18 questions NOT from the regular calculus book - they are written from Wiley, and Stewart.. much harder versions. Partial credit is not allocated correctly - stay away from this course and take it with someone else!
The worst class I have ever experienced in my life. Students cried after every exam and quiz, exams were based off of material that nobody had seen before that was much harder, the lecture did not explain concepts but rather was just someone doing a problem. It feels like this course is designed to be poorly taught on purpose to weed out students.
Professor Warecki is awesome! As a student who aced every math, physics, and computer science course up to date I felt really discouraged after scoring B's and even an F on her exams. You need to build problem sets from more advanced textbooks so that you can see the multiple ways questions come at you. You must show her respect if you want to pass
She loves what she does and it shows. She's very old school in that there are no calculators allowed on any tests, and no cheat sheets. You will have to memorize formulas and be able to calculate and reduce problems by hand. If you put in the work you can pass, but not easy by any means.
The class taught was a waste of time and is a slap in the face to the outstanding professors at West Valley.
She is a nice, but don't let that deceive you she is tough. Lectures are not good she uses PowerPoint slides& goes really fast so the concepts and basics of each section are not explained very well you have to do additional reading or go on YouTube for clearer explanations. Pop quizes, no calculators on tests or quizes. Tests are long and tough.
Mrs. Warecki is a funny, quirky teacher. She clearly loves what she does and is good at it. She is always very helpful in the MRC and is extremely willing to work with you. The class does move pretty fast though.
She is very personal and helpful towards homework questions/problems with lectures. Her test are semi-hard and reasonable. She offers many opportunity for you to improve your grade. Super easy-going and accommodating as long as you are put in your work and effort. Be respectful and attentive in her class, you will learn a lot.
great teacher, nice person, and reasonable tests
Rebecca definitely cares about her students and will do her best to help you succeed. She is available in the MRC before class for you to ask questions about the homework or receive general help. Some of her lectures, especially when she has examples already written out, are hard to follow, but if you keep up with the homework you should be okay.
As difficult as this course is, you won't find a better professor to teach it. She met with me outside of her office hours so that I could really understand the concepts. She gives more extra credit than any math prof at WV and she drops your lowest test score. I was tempted to drop the course, but because of her dedication, I was able to pass.
Very kind, sweet teacher. She explains concepts and math well enough for me, but sometimes she would rush through material. The only thing I didn't like was the poor test schedule. For the first 10 weeks of school we had 2 tests. Then for the last 6 weeks of school we had to cram 2 more tests in. That being said, she made the last 2 tests very easy
Can be intimidating at first, but has a good sense of humor. Material is covered at a pretty quick rate, so solely listening to lectures are NOT enough to do well on tests. The homework is a MUST since test questions are posed in new ways. Tests are long and difficult, but not impossibly so. Class can be time-consuming, but it is worth it.
If you cant focus for two and a half hours off of a boring PowerPoint on 2-3 chapters worth of overwhelming material that doesnt match the homework just dont take this class. Nice professor, loves math. But seriously so much work. Cant use calculators on tests but you dont really need them to be fair. Wouldnt even attempt to take again
Good teacher, makes sure to address all of your questions. There is a lot of hw, so make sure you have time for the class. Hw is graded on accuracy, not just completion. The tests are based off of the hw and the final is literally copy and pasted from the tests. Pretty generous with partial credit. There are a few extra credit opportunities.
I've gotten A's in every math class I can ever remember taking but I couldn't score an A on a single test. Stupid hard material at a stupid fast pace, she grades really tough; she knows this so she allows bonus points, but they still don't compensate for the excruciating difficulty of the course. An A is possible, but only for the brightest.
Got her for Math 004A. I've got an A in every single math class I've taken including Calc BC, but got a B in this class. Her tests are hard and her homework rules are confusing. She switched textbooks this year and she's constantly diverging from the textbook. Hard to learn in class because she uses a powerpoint and DOESN'T POST any material online
Lectures are just her throwing formula and math jargon on the board at an insane pace. She assumes the class should intuitively be able to grasp an idea just by looking at an equation. Assigns an insane amount of HW. Test problems insanely hard, nothing like the HW, and often the trickiest variation of the problem possible. Do not take her for 4A.
This class isn't too difficult. Honestly, if you look at the textbook, understand what's going on in class, and are on top of your stuff, getting an A isn't an difficult feat. The problem is that the class is so utterly momentous and grindy. Lectures were just her reading out equations and solving questions in class.
She is very hard and likes to teach old school. No calculators on exams. I would take another teacher if needed, but this class can be passable if you really work for the grade. She gives pop quizzes too so be warned. Her homework load is also really bad (60 problems per section) but you dont have to do it all until you reach a certain amount. GL!
Rebecca is the fastest lecturer I have ever seen! She doesn't post her slideshows or examples on canvas, but does post an equation sheet. She also has some old school methods, so no calculators on tests, no phones in class, and all homework is on paper. There's also a lot of homework and pretty long tests for the types of problems.
She assigns a lot of homework! However, as long as you do it and study for the tests, you will do fine, and she gives extra credit. She gives TONS of partial credit on tests and drops the lowest test grade. No calculators on tests but easy numbers so don't worry. She was very nice and helpful in office hours, and really cares about her students.
Professor Warecki's class is quite challenging and really fast-paced, with a lot of homework. However, she really cares about her students and is clearly very passionate about math. Her grading for exams is tough, but fair.
Rebecca is a kind and intelligent individual. That said, she is totally inept at her job as a professor. Lectures are unorganized, absurdly quickly-paced, and she very blatantly overcomplicates otherwise simple concepts (which is ironic since she is always talking about making our life easier). Many self-preachy tangents and 70+ hw problems a week.
Was difficult, HW is definitely a key part to the class. Many problems are pulled from HW, and the extra credit is worth spending time on the HW. Tests are hard, but not impossible.
Very good about letting students ask questions. In lectures students would interrupt to ask for a clarification and she would reply without any attitude or disgruntlement. Very open to questions. Very polite.
Prof. Warecki is such a diligent, passionate teacher. She uses the ENTIRE class to teach, so pay attention and keep up with the examples. She's also completely open to answer questions during class, never frustrated or annoyed. Optional homework (for summer class), but mandatory if you want to do well on tests (pretty long & fair/quick grading).
She's a nice person, but a really tough teacher/grader. Very bad at describing concepts, especially in 3D. Overly high grading standards, nocks points for every little thing. Only grades a select few hw problems, so you can do well, but get a bad hw grade. She is a terrible lecturer, Prof Leanord on youtube saved me. Take someone else! Fast pace!
She is a nice person, but really tough grade, every week you will have tons of homework, her class is kind of fast-pace, I feel stressful to take her class...
DO NOT take her. She gives mountains of homework, no study guides for tests, the tests are extremely hard, she doesn't give proper time to write things down or really explain things at all, doesn't use canvas so you can't see your grade, she takes forever to respond to emails and sometimes ignores them. There's more but I'm out of room. Worst ever.
Very tough grader of TINY mistakes. A small error can cost you most of that problems points on a test. Assigns a lot of HW, way more than needed. Not a great lecturer. She isn't great at explaining the concepts in 3D or explaining/ proving any kind of theorem. I wouldn't recommend her. That being said, nice person in general.
I do not recommend at ALL! she is nice outside of class but has very old fashion lectures.
don't take this professor if you want to learn math. She is strict about grading and belittles students for asking questions! HW credit is just based on hw quizzes, which she is still a harsh grader. DO NOT TAKE if you are not good at math!
Don't take her class. Her lectures are very boring and confusing, so it's very easy to fall asleep in class. She is an extremely harsh grader and gives way too much homework for a math class. As a high school senior, I had to deal with college apps and APs at school, and her brutal load of homework made my schedule even worse than it should be.
Things to know for future students. Lectures are pretty fast paced, exams are heavy on the grade, quizzes are free points (from the hw), many hw problems but not graded. My advice is to record the lectures for better understanding and get together with classmates for review and clarification. Professor Warecki is kind and sweet in my opinion.
Her lectures were basically useless and they were too fast to comprehend. She makes constant mistakes and skips so many steps and when we ask her to clarify she starts lashing out at us. Tests are ridiculously hard and you don't even know what sections its covering. We lost more than half of our class towards the end of the semester (red flag!!).
Prof. Warecki is a very kind and patient individual. Grading is very clearly defined, and you can get any question answered if you go to office hours. She's brilliant, which makes her a good mathematician but unable to explain things fully sometimes. To do well, attend all lectures and do all homework - it'll be tough, but you'll be fine.
I was fighting for my life in this class. I got an A easy in 3A but this prof jus made everything so much harder than it needed to be. Had lots of unfair grading for many students and doesn't curve when more than half the class failed. Only exams and tests in grade book. Didn't give a clear schedule and was like "there's an exam in 2 days" like huh
Her lectures were really fast-paced. She would just tell us there would be an exam the week before. You have to keep track of your grade. If you corrected her, she would be disrespectful. A lot of homework that would not be used for the exam. I would recommend to write down the problems she does in class. If you have to take her, good luck.
This professor is a tough one. Your grades are based on the tests, final, and around 10 quizzes. She's very strict on grading, and her lectures are fast paced. I suggest recording it to watch it again. Quizzes are based on non-graded homework, tests are mostly from lectures and some homework, and the final is cumulative with extra chapters.
Professor Warecki rushed through each and every lecture, questions are not answered only restated back to the person who asked, office hours are scarce, and she is a tough grader. Take one of the other MATH 4B professors instead. If you don't...then good luck and expect to teach yourself the material.
Goes way too fast in lectures, makes frequent mistakes on examples, and flies by essential test formulas not in published formula sheets. Homework is time-consuming but necessary for quizzes. Tests are hard, harshly graded, and closed notes. No lecture recordings or posted slides, just formula sheets.
Entire course is based off of exams and there's no curve. No clear schedule and she just tells us two days before each exam. Homework feels endless and yet none of it relates to exams, maybe relates to quizzes if you're lucky. Extremely nitpicky when grading. Doesn't post notes or lecture recordings, which is extremely unhelpful.
If you want to actually learn math that isn't very fast paced, don't take her class. She was barely able to read and gives the wrong grades most of the times. Shes a very nice person, but not quite so a professor who should be teaching. Her class ended up with almost half of the people dropping. Take this class at your own risk.
Rebecca is an amazing professor! She really cares about each and every one of her students. Her class is pretty fast paced, but she stops for questions and is never impatient. Go to her office hours for anything help you need, she'll go over anything you need until you're good. Make sure you do the HW and you'll be fine.
Talk to her and attend her lectures. She gives us tips and tools on how to tackle the problem. She wants you to succeed. Take advantage of her office hours, resources around campus. If you do the homework and understand it, you should have no problem acing the test. Don't shy away from asking questions.
Professor Warecki is an incredibly kind human being who wants her students to do well. Calculus is hard, so having a supportive professor helped so much! Her class will get you prepared for Calculus 3B as long as you do the homework. The homework is time-consuming, but if you are willing to do it, you will pass and do good on the exams/quizzes.
Extremely nitpicky with grading, going as far as marking you down for scratch work that doesnt have proper notation. Exams are scarcely related to the HW and worked out solutions are not provided so you cant tell if you have done the HW properly. You still have to show up to lecture because she may mention something obscure that will be on the exam
Nice as a person, but bad as a teacher and very nitpicky witht he grading
Good professor, quite hard tests, but study hard!
Super nice, but her lectures are just her doing problems as doesn't really teach and the homework takes about 10-15 hours a week and it's hard. Don't recommend
This is by far the worst teacher I have ever had. She never actually taught anything in class, just solved a bunch on problems in the board with little explanation on what she was doing. The amount of homework was ridiculous, and I failed the class despite doing every assignment. No more the 2-3 kids would pass her tests, and shes a bad teacher
