Overall she is a good teacher. She gives homework, but never checks it. Basically you only have to do the homework if you need help understanding. Every class period we just took notes. Most of her quizzes are take home quizzes. She is approachable for the most part.
Kothari is a GREAT teacher. Her teaching style is very understandable and clear. Homework is not collected. Some quizzes are take home. She gives out practice tests before Exams, which really help for review. No projects. You do not need to read book to understand this class, but reading/skimming chptrs reinforces lecture material.
easiest teacher ive ever had. it would be a real challenge not to get an a. no real homework, take home quizzes, helps the class with tests. nice though
Terrific instructor. Very helpful and personable, both in class and during office hours. Patient when concept doesn't catch on immediately. Good sense of humor. I hope she teaches Calculus II in the future so I can take another class with her.
Oh my goodness! She's the best..that's all I can say! Definitly the best math teacher I have ever had! Very sweet, approachable and makes math..almost fun. She rocks!!
Reena is THE BEST TEACHER there is!!! I only wish there where more teachers like her. She is so approchable, and will explain things in a way that is understandable. I've always been bad in math and she was able to help me understand it and actually enjoy it. Highly recommended!! You wont find a better instructor!! It was put best - SHE ROCKS!!!
I had Mrs. Kothari for Calculus 1, and let me tell you. This was the best college professor i have ever had!! Teaches in such a way that everything is understandable, never left confused or anything!!! Gives out "study tests" before her actual tests, which is very VERY helpful!!! Definately recommend!!
Highly recommend this instructor. Kind, patient and very tolerant of the "math phobic." She is funny and knows her materials. She even brought in props to clarify a point one day. If you put in the effort for her class you will not be disappointed. If you are scared of math - seek out this instructor.
Great teacher, best teacher i've had since going to college, she teaches everything with clarity and gives a practice test prior to each test to help out. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to take any math courses.
I have Mrs. Kothari for Precalc and she is one of the best teachers ive had here. Im taking her for Calc 1 next semester because she is such a good teacher. She keeps everything clear and understandable. Her study practice tests help a lot! you dont have to do homework its just there to help you practice. good sense of humor and fair grading.
Best math teacher you will ever have, most effective teaching style...you can't find better qaulities than this professor.
Reena is the best!! She is so helpful and really wants you to learn. She is super nice and explains things well and is always willing to help out when needed. Lets you re-do homework you didn't get correct for extra points. Excellent teacher, makes me want to take more math and I have always HATED math!
Good teacher. very clear and keeps you on track with weekly quizes that you can ask questions on when you bring it back to class.
You cannot really understand her as well as she can be very rude.
She is the BEST math teacher that I have ever had! Go to class, take notes, and do the homework and quizzes - you will get an A, no sweat. I got an A and I am terrible at math. The practice problems really help with learning the material.
Absolutely amazing in every aspect. She genuinely cares about her students success and gives you every opportunity to excel. If you don't care you will fail, because she can't take your exams for you. If you care, it's almost impossible to not get at least a B. If you are bad-mouthing Reena, you are a slacker and no one can save you!
Great teacher, Very helpful and flexible with deadlines when necessary. Highly recommended!
She is hepful. Attendance counts as part of your grade in this class. She was nice and I enjoyed being in her class.
shes a very good math teacher... give a lot of extra quizzes in case u mess up on previous ones... most of the tests have options to gain back some points.. show up to class b/c notes r very useful. she drops ur lowest test score and drops ur 5 lowest quiz scores..
If you can't get in A in her class you shouldn't be in College! This teacher is awesome. All her exams are based on her notes, no surprises! If you need help she'll try her best to help you out! As long as you go to lecture take notes, and do the practice problems you'll get an A, with out batting your eyelashes! I would take her again, for Calc.
She's a really nice person, once you get to know her. Doesn't like ppl who BS around, wants students to be serious about their grades, and her class. Her exams where identical to her notes for the most part....She also gave us hints to what would be on the exams! The Best way to succeed in her class is: regular attendance, and to do all ur Quizzes!
I loved her. She was very thorough with notes and explanations. She also allowed retake tests, take home quizzes, and never graded homework! Take her class!
She is very clear and teaches in an easy way for you to understand. I have had many math teachers and she is by far one of the best. If you go to class and give her your attention it should be an easy A if you study! She gives make up tests and there is no homework, only quizzes. She is very nice too!
Reena is the best math teacher I have seen in Normandale. very self explanatory. always goes over her notes first, and will show you examples in the book, and well aquanted with graphing calculator. she cares about her students, but does not like people that are lazy. she will teach you and you have to be ready for it too. I loved to be in her clas
A very good teacher. Very helpful. Give extra credits assignments. Explanation is clear and direct.
Reena is a great person and teacher. In class she is orderly and clear. Outside of class she is more than willing to help. The biggest criticism is that the pace of her class is very slow compared to other professors and she spoon feeds you too much. For continuing math students her class does not adequately prepare you for your next math class.
Best math teacher I've had in college so far! Extremely helpful! She gives out a lot of extra credit, so it won't be hard to maintain a decent grade! :)
Really good teacher, she makes sure you know what you're doing, atleast in class, she is more than willing to help with just about anything you ask too, and she definately knows her math. she may not be the best person to teach you if you're going into extremely rouch math like trig or calc, but for comm. col. math, she is an amazing teacher.
Reena is awesome! She is super helpful and willing to work with you. You need to put the effort in though. I suggest doing the problems in the book even though they are not assigned, as it helped a lot. She gives lots of extra credit which is nice. She does keep track of attendance and it is beneficial to you to be there everyday. Recommend!
Reena is a great teacher. She will work with you and gives you lots of opportunities. This class was 5 times a week but it wasn't that bad. You learn a lot of information. Reena gives in class quizzes which are nice because you can use your notes. I would recommend Reena to everyone! She is awesome!
Has a great interest in her students succeeding. Not much required homework but you will fail without the recommended homework. Not hard to keep up with unless you miss more than one day of class in which case find a friend to help you or you will have trouble. Study groups will make this class soooo much easier.`I highly recommend her.
Excellent teacher; explains things for as long as it takes until you understand. She hand writes pages of absolutely necessary information so you don't necessarily have to go sifting through a huge textbook, and she cares about the success of her students
Couldn't understand her with her accent, and she had an attitude. You could tell which students she didn't like.
Best math teacher I've ever had. Seriously, you won't find a better one. Very helpful! Wish she taught more math classes.
Reena is very helpful and cares about her students. I never saw her have a bad attitude towards anyone, unless they showed no effort or were rude to her.
Great teacher. Lots of extra credit. Little accent but not to hard. Really helpful.
She is the best math teacher that I have ever had! She explains all topics, from rudimentary to complex, extremely well. She is awesome. I absolutely loved her class.
TAKE HER! best calc teacher at normandale!
Great teacher ever for cal II math in normandale shoudl take her for math!!
Best math teacher. Explanations were fantastic! She is approachable for questions and uses supplemental materials that are invaluable for learning. (Better than the book!!!) I understand previous classes material far better by taking her class. Highly recommended!
Dr. Kothari really cares about students, and she is pretty helpful and approachable. So if you have questions, just discuss with her. Your grades contain homework and tests. Just do what she asks and you'll be fine.
Reena is an awesome teacher. She gives lots of examples, and clearly explains how to do problems. She gives a quiz every week, but if you stay on top of homework and quizzes you the tests are pretty easy. She will also let you correct the problems you did wrong for partial credit and add those points to your final grade.
She is probably one of the best teachers for math I have ever had. She works alot of problems, shows you the tricky ones, and breaks everything down into simple terms. "I don't like this, so lets get rid of it" or stuff like that she says to keep your attention.
Amazing teacher! Understanding, Helpful, Patient, funny, wish i could take every math class with her. She very organized and is always there for you. if you can, TAKE HER CLASS!
Very helpful teacher and very organized.
Very well organized and always straightforward. She is the best math teacher i have ever had!
Great Teacher. Very clear and always prepared. Her tests are 2 day tests. Need i say more?
She simplifies the material to great extent and grades the class pretty leniently. I would advice you take her class.
Reena is the best math professor ever in my life. she makes math to be very easy than usual. i took both 1500 and 1510 with her. you will never regret taking her class she always gives extra credits with one take home test. she is very nuetral without any racism. i wish i could take all my classes with her. Excellent, organised, amazing professor
Reena is a good professor. Her teaching is spot on and her accent is not bad at all. She is helpful and understanding. My only complaint is that she's a little boring. I sometimes fell asleep in her class.
Reena is amazing, and always takes time to explain things well. Her tests are not hard if you study, they don't trick you. Her office hours are especially helpful. I 100% recommend her. You have to put in the effort to get an A though. She won't just give it to you.
Always willing to help
Very easy going and helpful. I would recommend her.
Communicates well with students and understands that calc 2 can suck at times. Tests are fairly straight forward. She has hand written notes and practice problem sets that are VERY NICE. Good teacher and packs practice problems into the 50 mins each day.
Extremely nice and very helpful. Just take a look at her office, you will see how busy she is. There are always 3-5 students in line at her office. Reena is very easy in grading as well. Highly recommend.
Tests were hard but you knew what to expect based on her homework, supplements, and in class problems. There was never anything on the tests that came out of no where. Lots of homework. Weekly supplements, written homework, webassign, book problems, and sometimes reviews.
Her notes are VERY good, aside from reading the textbook. She makes Calc 2 not as difficult as it seems to be. There is webassign and written homework, but if you do them there is no reason for you to get A or B on tests. She is fair on grading. Wished she would teach calc 3 and 4 too.
She is very nice, and works through problems nice and slowly, which makes things crystal-clear, and easy to keep up with. She's a smart lady, and, like any other professor, wants to see hard work from her students. She does have a cute little accent, although, it honestly is not that bad. I had no trouble understanding her.
Reena is awesome. Took her summer college algebra course; 2 12 hrs per day, 5 days a week for 5 weeks. Super intense, but she helps you get through it with success. Provides several opportunities for extra credit.
Really nice. She expects you to do your work and know stuff but is always ready to explain things and answer any questions. She replies to emails. Tests aren't open book, so know your material and formulas but she does allow for test corrections. She uses her lecture notes from the textbook. Great math teacher!
Reena is your best option. Provides printouts for every lesson that you can fill in notes as well as supplemental problems with answers for extra practice. One take home quiz every week with online homework. Workload is more than reasonable. Drops your 4 lowest quiz and homework grades and offers test corrections. Don't use the book at all.
Reena is your best option. Provides printouts for every lesson that you can fill in notes as well as supplemental problems with answers for extra practice. Reena is amazing. She is so nice and she is very willing to work with you. She is really understanding and there to help you in her class. She lays everything out for you as well, so there is no confusion. She works with ALEKS as do the other instructors for lower level math. ALEKS completely sucks, but Reena will help you through it.
You are able to earn back partial points for your test. Her lecture really help understand the material. You'll need to spend time not just on the homework but also the supplement problems and doing more extra example from the book to succeed in class and practice. I barely earn an A in that class, but I love her class.
She is one of the best instructors i have ever seen. she is there for u to help u all the time. she gives you plenty of time to get prepared for the test. if u didnt do the test well, u can do the correction and earn 20% of what u got wrong. online homeworks is due 1 week from the day she assigns. every week she wil give out homework with few quize
I enjoyed Reena. She taught trig in a way that I could really understand, she's thoughtful, organized, accessible outside of class, and her dry sense of humor is pretty entertaining.
I legit didn't even pay attention the whole time during Calc 1 and I got an A. Just do the WebAssigns and the homework she gives out to you and it'll become your naptime in College!
Reena is one of the best teachers/professors I've ever had. Very funny, nice, and great at teaching. Don't be afraid to email her because she is happy to help.
Reena is one of my favorite professors at Normandale. She is accessible and wants to help everyone. I love how she went through the book and made handouts for each one of her lectures. The tests are fairly easy if you understand the material. Reena is passionate about what she is teaching and actually made me excited to learn calc.
Reena is the an Amazing Instructor. she is hands out lecture notes, online home works are due 1 week from the day she assign. a lot of extra credit. she will gave an extra credit by doing test correction. Her Exam is fairly easy, she will test on what she had discussed in class. I will recommend to take her classes. Approachable, friendly, helpful
I loved Professor Kothari. I didnt miss any class because her in class lecture made everything clear. She offers a lot of extra credit and has a math test every three weeks. There is homework, but she is right to give it. You cant learn math without practicing.
Reena is a rare gem in a pile full of stones. She teaches so well all you have to do is listen and takes notes and I promise you'll learn. She gives you extra credit. Plenty of time to do the homework and help outside of class if you need it. The tests are more difficult but if you do what she gives you to practice you'll do just fine. BEST TEACHER
She is by far the best instructor of any kind that I have ever had. I have never had a funnier, more caring, and helpful teacher in my life! The class is hard, but her grading system makes it so much easier to pass. Tons of extra credit, too! She does everything in her power to help students. Lessons are fun with her. I will sorely miss her class!
Reena is the best math teacher I ever had. I am not good at math but the way she taught really made me understand things that I didn't before. She has lecture notes that you print before class which was really helpful. She gives you chances to get points for test corrections and many extra credit opportunities.
Reena is very good at explaining and breaking down problems. She hands out a decent amount of homework, so that you can practice and evaluate if you understand. There are test every two or three weeks, online homework, and take home written homework each week. It is overall very manageable. If you every struggle she is always willing to explain.
Reena is an absolute amazing person and professor. I am embarrassingly bad at math. Reena was so patient and helpful. She really cares about her students who work hard. She does not help those who do not help themselves. You get 3 points just for showing up to classes. If you do not show up for class, don't expect her to sympathize.
Calc is a hard subject, but Reena makes it easy. Excellent lectures and posts everything with details/run-thrus online. Tons of supplemented problems and examples. Weekly written HW and in-class examples form the test ?s. Test corrections available for a small amount of pts back. Tons of EC for participation and PASS sessions. Best math prof at NCC
I learned most of the material out of class on my own time from other resources (Websites, Books, videos, etc.) and the problem I ran into was that shed Deduct points on Exams and Homework Id you didnt solve a problem the way she wanted it to be solved. Otherwise, great professor and very knowledgeable about the subject.
Reena is simply amazing, and even with a lot of EC provided for PASS sessions and participation, she makes you work for your grade. I personally used the textbook at times, but she's very resourceful and has everything posted online, her notes and her supplemented problems are immensely helpful. Tests are based around the written homework.
If you prefer your sanity, do not take her class. There is a test every two weeks, which extremely inconvenient. She also makes the material 10x more complicated than it really is and I had to relearn everything through other resources. She shames people for asking valid questions even though she constantly wants people to interact with her.
Reena does everything possible to help you succeed. Calc 2 is a very hard subject so don't expect to get everything by simply showing up. She is very helpful in office hours and tests are close to the study guides. If you do the extra suggested problems it also helps. I would take her for any math class I could.
Trust me when I tell you Mrs. Kothari is the best professor you can get for calculus. She gives lots of extra credit, lets you do test corrections, and will give you points for the smallest things to increase your grade, even if you don't do well on multiple tests. She is empathetic and really cares that her students do well. You will love her.
Reena tries her best for everyone to get a good grade in this class. She offers many extra credit oppurtunities as well as test corrections. If you don't understand anything she will explain it to you until you fully understand. This class is an easy A as long as you work for it.
She's a fine professor and makes the class easier to understand. What the main problem is that if your more than two points or (0.2%) off your grade she will not help you. Which is disappointing due our to grading system (2.9 2.0?). She will not make a exception period. If you want someone to take the grading system into account its not her.
Great teacher for calc 1. She is super helpful and makes calc understandable. Dont expect it to be easy, but it is definitely not bad for a calculus class. Make sure to ask questions if you have them and do the study guides. She can get crabby at times but overall great teacher. Reading the text is not necessary. Make sure to show up to class.
Reena is amazing, I took her calc 1 class asynchronous online and it was super easy. She gave extra credit if you just showed up to the pass leaders office hours and her syllabus was super clear and helpful. I forgot to submit a weekly quiz once which is due on Wed. but i emailed her timestamps showing and she still gave full credit
She's a good teacher even when teaching online. She made youtube videos to go along with her lecture notes and had office hours multiple times a week. She provided a lot of time to do exams, quizzes, and homework. It was a hard class, but I think Calc 1 is going to be hard no matter what professor you take.
I enjoyed doing calc 1 with Reena, she made the material clear and easy to understand. opportunities to earn extra credit, like going to the PASS sessions every Mondays and Wednesdays. Office hrs - helpful! We also had the chance to do test corrections. If you work hard and take advantage of all of the opportunities you'll def get a good grade.
I enjoyed taking calc 1 with Reena. She made the material easy to understand with videos and well written notes. You could get extra credit by going to the PASS sessions, which were helpful. Office hrs were also really helpful. Test corrections are also available which is amazing. This class needs work put in and if you do, you'll get a good grade!
Reena is the best professor I've ever had. She takes her time to explain complicated material and makes sure to make solutions easy to understand. The homework she assigns online is very challenging, but she dedicates 3 times a week to go over some of those questions that were the most challenging. I would highly recommend taking calculus with her
I have taken Reena for Calc 1 and 2. She explains topics really well and actually cares about her students. She will make you work for your grade but if you need help she will give it to you. She is one of my favorite professors and I would definitely recommend her to others. She also provides a lot of extra credit to help student.
I'm in her fully asynchronous class; she makes herself available through her office hours, which are held multiple times a week, and through her email as well. Her curriculum is laid out in a very clear way; her schedule is consistent and predictable, which I enjoy. She posts the notes, videos, and study guides for each lesson- and a weekly quiz.
Great teacher overall. Clear expectations. Work load was reasonable even though it is a 5 credit class. You can't go wrong with this professor for your math classes.
This is hands down one of the best math professors I have ever had. I took Calc 1 before and dropped the class, so I was very nervous about going back. Reena had amazing lectures which made everything understandable, and replied very quickly every time I reached out with more questions.
Reena is an excellent and caring professor. I took calc 1 during the summer semester, and it was the most organized online course Ive ever taken. Reena sets clear learning objectives and expectations, and presents complex material in an easily understood way. She goes out of her way to show support and guidance. Would recommend her to anyone.
Reena is a very kind and caring professor. She's incredibly helpful and understanding. I've always struggled with math but Reena was always able to help when I or any other student was having difficulties. Highly recommend this professor.
Explains things thoroughly and answers questions well. Workload is extremely manageable. Such a great personality. 5/5 Total Girlboss
Reena is AMAZAING! Her teaching of key math concepts and ideas are on a level that us students can understand. Her exams and quizzes aren't extremely hard. You just have to put in effort. I WISH she TAUGHT CALC 2,3, & 4 b/c those are what I need next. I'm CONFIDENT I'd excel and truly learn math from her!
One of the best professors I've ever had. She's great explaining topics. How she does this is by using class notes you can print out and follow along with. This makes organizing for tests super easy. Having a printer is recommended. Class participation/attendance also recommended. Overall, I'd recommend her.
Amazing professor! She cares about students, is easy to communicate with, and teaches content in an easily understood way. She provides notes templates to use when following along with her lectures which was very helpful. Tests and quizzes werent super hard and she gives extra credit. 100% recommend and I wish I could take Calc 2 with her
Reena 100% awesome. She WILL do everything possible to ensure you're understanding the concepts. Her quizzes and exams test you on understanding concepts. Her feedback on quizzes and exams are AMAZINGLY detailed. You ACTUALLY learn what you've done wrong vs the correct solution. Just show up, do the HW, take notes, and go to office hrs for help.
For online Calc 1 with Reena, you are allowed to use notes on quizzes and tests. Test questions are similar to the review test she hands out for each unit. If you join the zoom call she often gives extra credit as well as group math problems that you can turn in for extra credit. You will do fine in the class if you take good notes and join zoom.
Best professor at Normandale for math, online synchronous. Take this class if you actually want to learn Calculus. Go to her office hours!!!! Weekly quizzes and WebAssign HW. Great with emails, she is active even at 2 am. She made one part of the Final optional. So much extra credit to get an A. At first, it might seem hard, but it gets better.
She has excellent lecture videos along with excellent pdf's of the lecture notes so you can concentrate on what is the concept being covered. She is also very good at getting to the point. She was very accessible over Zoom. Her responses to emailed questions were prompt. Just a great teacher.
Very good lectures and lecture notes, completely open book quizzes, tests and exams, and a very understanding professor. I didn't attend zoom meetings (which count for a fair amount of extra credit points) and still received an A. I was so worried about taking Calculus and I'm very glad it was with Professor Kothari Arslan.
Reena is such a great professor. I was pretty scared to take Calculus haha, but with her (very clear) lecture notes I didn't really struggle too much. She did have countless extra credit opportunities that will seriously help your grade which was really nice. I would take her for Calculus 2 if I had the option to, she's a great teacher.
She was an awesome professor! She had very clear lecture notes that made it easier to learn Calculus. Tons of extra credit opportunities in case you miss a few points on a quiz. If you do well on the tests, most of the final is optional! If you need this class for credits, take it with this professor, I highly recommend it.
Ms. Kothari Arslan teaches calculus, but explains each new topic carefully and concisely, so that the coursework is easy to follow, despite being calculus. Her tests and quizzes aren't there to trick you; material reflects what is taught in lectures. Plus, she has a really calm voice that makes you feel calm as well.
She really cares about her students and wants you to succeed. There's not much you have to do, and her tests are short, half online and half in person with one page of notes you can bring. Really great teacher!
Reena understands her students and allows a good amount of room for flexibility and gaining extra points if needed. She lets you use a page of notes on her exams and half of the exam is online at home. She offered extra credit points for simply just showing up on quiz days. Her lectures were short but helpful. She's overall a really good professor!
She genuinely cares about her students doing well and the topic she is teaching. I would HIGHLY suggest taking her for a teacher if she is available. She is one of my favorite teachers. I took her in Fall of 2022 and had a great semester with her. She just really wants her students understanding what they are learning.
I took her online college algebra class T/TH and she always does her lectures on T and lecture + quiz on TH. She records her lectures, so if you miss a day you won't get behind. She doesn't call on people during the meetings. She gives us 3 hours for the paper test and 1 hour and 30 mins for the WebAssign test. Overall she's extremely nice!
Even if math is a hard subject for you, Professor Kothari's lectures will help you understand the content with ease. Homework assignments aren't long or ever too difficult to complete. I recommend this professor!
Good teacher.
I took Calc-1 online with Professor Kothari. Her lectures were easy to follow, and I enjoyed the class.
The lectures were long and mostly not helpful. The homework is well structured and the exams were easy for a math course. You will not succeed if you don't study on your own time. There is extra credit and many tutors at your disposal. Just study at home until you fully get the material, and don't overthink it. Does not get any better with math.
