Regan Silvestri is one of the most engaging teachers I have ever had.He ensures his students understand the content he is presenting.there are no surprises.His labs aren't overbearing or confusing,and the homework is VERY useful in test studying. I HIGHLY recommend him for any chemistry.Plus who doesn't love a magic trick every now and then:)

Loved the experiments he performed in lecture to tie in the concepts we were learning! He was always clear about what was really important- are you able to apply chemistry in the real world- do you understand why you're doing a calculation, etc. Showed us how to do each problem the simplest way possible. Really wish he was teaching Chemistry 162.

Dr Silvestri was the most thorough and passionate teacher I've ever had in my entire college career. He is very dedicated and excited about chemistry which makes his students eager to learn even more.

This professor met the students where they were at academically and broke everything down back to core concepts when things got tough. Truly a wonderful professor who is not only intelligent, but also knew how to explain it to people who aren't. Most professors are intelligent, but have no ability to break down their knowledge.

The large bulk of material that was to be covered in a small amount of time never felt rushed and Prof. Silvestri remained calm and in control the entire time. Also the funniest and most intelligent teacher I have had at this school, or at any school.

Do your homework!! whatever homework you do study it because he tests on the homework and go see marsh from the tutoring center she is great! he is a great guy however its not to hard you just need to apply yourself remeber study the homework!

Regan was amazing!!! Regan is an amazing teacher and made me want to go to class and learn about chemistry. He was able to explain every concept clearly and so everyone in the class could understand it. He was very willing to help with homework during class and lab time. He was always available for questions. I loved this class because of him!

Great teacher, did a good job teaching what yu needed to know and skipped the things you did not need to know. His goal is that everyone passes the class, and very helpful when needed. Tutoring helped me as well her name is Marsha. the class was always interesing and fun. When you have to take a class you may as well enjoy the knowledge.

He goes over everything you need to know and is great at answering your questions or giving you additional time if needed on assignments. Tests are based on the homework problems and he helps you in Lab. As long as you do the work and show up you'll get an A! I wish I had another class to take with him! He makes chemistry fun!!

I am not the type of person to give the highest rating for each question on these surveys, but Dr Silvestri really is an impressively skilled teacher and LCCC is lucky to have him. He would always give us a better way to think about the material than even the textbook.

Regan Silvestri is an excellent chemistry teacher. He takes a hard subject matter and makes it understandable and even fun. If you still aren't able to understand it he takes the time and gives plenty of opportunities to help you out. The homeworks are a bit long occasionally, but they are just like the tests so great study material.

He's an amazing teacher. Explained things in an understandable fashion. Made sure we knew the material. Kept the class engaged. Kept everyone on task, and involved in the learning. Made it fun, which made it easier for us to focus. I've never done so well in a science class. I loved this class. :)

Prof Silvestri has a real gift for making complex scientific concepts and math algorithms simple and easy enough to understand. He made the course both fun and informative and kept students involved by speaking in easily understood terms and breaking down the terms that were ambiguous or difficult to understand. Homework every week, but it prepares you for the test so you end up not having to study at all or as much. The lectures are clear, sometimes a bit fast, but you always review before class an he is always there for help if you need it. Tests are exactly like the homework. No reason not to pass the class. We had fun while learning chemistry if you can believe that. He not only explained the abstract concepts from the textbook with examples that relate to everyday life, but also made us laugh. It kept the students attention while trying to learn the horribly boring mathematics of chemistry. Kudos to you Prof Silvestri, keep doing what you're doing.

Dr. S has a vast knowledge and incredible ability to explain the topics clearly for everyone. This class seemed tough at first, but Dr. S was able to convey the information and make sure everyone was able to apply it to the homework and tests.

Class was great and i loved it. (I loved chemistry?!?!?!) Professor Sylvestri is the best chemistry teacher! Very knowledgeable and made it fun to come to class.

Very effective at presenting material. Had a great way of explaining concepts so that they were easy to understand. Used visual demonstrations which enabled me to understand the material better. His mathematical look at everything made chem a lot easier. I found myself with few questions since he made everything so easy to understand and remember.

Professor Regan made class interesting, easy to understand, and was always available to help if it was needed! If I had any more science courses to take, I would want to take them with him! Awesome professor!

There's homework due online after every class. He's helpful, friendly, funny, and makes class interesting by doing explosive chemical experiments. This class was beyond easy. There were times when I was just sitting in class not knowing what else to do since I already know it all. Reading lab handouts before lab would be helpful. Tests are easy.

Regan is an AWESOME teacher!! Class is mostly math problems, which he teaches you how to do over and over in class! You will have homework after each class but the homework questions are pulled right from the test!!! Do your homework and you will pass the test and class with flying colors!!!

He was able to simplify the class in a way that all of the students could understand. Did a good job of relating foreign concepts to real life situations that are of interest to college students. Prof Regan is clearly a master of his field; however, he doesn't teach in a way that's condescending or confusing. He's great at bringing difficult concepts down to a level that can be easily comprehended. His enthusiasm is evident and it makes his lectures engaging and effective. I didn't want to take this class, but I ended up loving it!

Dr. Silvestri is a funny dude. He really tries to keep you engaged throughout the class. Tests can be a bit tricky if you don't read carefully, but he really doesn't try to trick you. Expect homework every day!

Reagan was absolutely amazing. I was so afraid of taking chemistry but he not only made it fun but he made it manageable as well. I learned more in this class than I did in any of my other science classes. I am so grateful that I had him as my Chemistry professor.

I took the course over the summer. Condensed and fast paced but worth it. I had used the reviews here and glad I did. Prof Silvestri was fantastic and though the class did drag on at times he adds in his humor and well, I didn't lose interest for long. Would take him again!

Dr. Silvestri was a fantastic professor. He really tells you exactly what you need to know and how to study. He is straight forward, which many professors lack. He is not trying to trick or decieve you and is always around to help. I took this course over the summer which I loved because its fast paced and keeps you on track!

He was very knowledgeable and made the course fun. I had honestly suffered anxiety knowing I had to take this course. Having taken the course over 18 years ago and barely managed to pass with a decent grade caused me to develop a fear of chemistry. I was pleasantly surprised and actually enjoyed the course.

The class was very straight forward. I was always well prepared for the tests from his explanations. The tiny experiments he did in lecture were great. He really made us want to learn. Professor Reagan is an awesome great professor.

He was always doing cool experiments in lecture, and always willing to explain something to you if you didn't understand. He was very organized, always posting the lecture videos online so we could go back and watch, and the answers to the homework so we could study that as well, plus review sheets.

This is mainly a math class. Learned very little new information from high chemistry 22 years ago.

Professor Silvestri is very clear and concise with a touch of humor in his lessons. Very thorough and went over many practice problems in class, made learning the material easy by making each question a simple math problem. He was excellent.

Regan is GREAT! The way that he simplifies every single chapter into a simple math problem is incredible. He reviews for a whole class before any test essentially telling you everything that will be on the test next class. It seems impossible to fail his class and he is hilariously dorky! Hands down best teacher at lccc!

For me, this class broke down into two things: the math problems, and the concepts. Once you get the structure of the math problem down, it's a cake walk. Regan explains this very well throughout the course, which is amazing. He takes the scariness and the hard parts out of Chemistry.

Regan is a really good teacher. I took chemistry in high school and didn't understand 90% of it; once Regan explained it, I actually got mad at my high school teacher for making it seem so complicated. If I was a science-related student I would take as many classes with Regan as I possibly could, because he is one of the best teachers I've ever had

Regan is by far my favorite professor at LC. Lectures are fun and engaging. You can't find a smarter, more passionate chemistry professor. Homework is the worst part, but still not that bad at all.

As far as I know, he only teaches chem 162 in the summer, and the timeframe is a drag. 2 days a week, really long lectures, long labs, and harder material than 161 by far. Still a fantastic teacher, but the course is very fast paced and tough, since it's only 8 weeks.

Best prof ever. Hes relatable and makes lectures fun. He posts all of the lecture vids online, and tells you exactly what you need to know for the exams. Hes so helpful in lab and will jump to answer any questions. Exams and labs are graded and in canvas within hours! Overall hes a great person and I highly recommend him.

He is a great and goofy Instructor, tells silly chemistry jokes, lecture videos online, homework due before every class except tests, Weekly Lab, make sure to attend final review sessions because he gave 1 free question on final exam for attending the review. :-) I would def take him again If I had to take any more chemistry courses.

Prof Silvestri taught in a way that made Chemistry make sense. He explained everything as it would pertain to my career and not just info out of a book. He also worked through many problems so we could understand the process. Somehow he was able to take the most complicated concepts & make them easily understandable. I can't explain how he did it!

Hands down the best professor at LC. He really cares about his students and wants to see them pass. He's absolutely hilarious and never lacking a good chemistry joke!! Very accessible outside class and more than willing to help. I wish he taught all my classes!! Very very very recommendable!!

If there was a crime for smiling, this guy would be easily arrested! I have taken Chemistry three times. I took his class just to have a decent experience for once. As a noncredit. He made a miracle for me, it brings a tear to my eye and tremendous relief, to finally move on. He reminds me of me with having a fun personality and love for science!!!

Never took a Chem class in my life and got an A. There is lots of homework (get two attempts) and the questions are the same as on the exam, just different numbers. Only have to show up for lab, as all the lectures are online. Do the study guide, Attend the exam review lecture and youll get an A. Best class ever.

Regan is a great professor. He simplifies everything to the point where you cannot fail. It seems like everyone in the class understands the material. He works tons of example problems. Reviews the material before every test so we are thoroughly prepared. He is funny and does things to make the class laugh and regain attention. Really a great prof.

This class was half online and half in class. You only had to attend one day a week, he had a very brief lecture and the rest of class was your lab. Exams (more like quizzes they were only 5-8 questions) every week, almost straight from the HW just changes a few numbers. Final was only 35 questions. Silvestri is hilarious, moves real fast though!

Regan was wonderful! His teaching method was smooth, thoughtful, and most of all FUN! I cannot believe that I understand chemistry now and its all because of his teaching method! I am very lucky to have been one of his students. He gave me confidence in a field I was afraid to tackle. Thank you LCCC for employing such an awesome Professor!!!!!

This was probably the most clearly defined online course I've even taken. The way the homework assignments directly fed into how we took the exams was great. There were no mysteries about what to study. The instructor made so much extra information available to us to make sure we knew what we were doing. Great course. Incredible instructor.

I took this class online. I love Silvestri. He is the best. He simplifies everything and clearly explains what he is doing. Exams look just like the homework and he is a fair grader on labs. I did use the textbook because I found it to be beneficial.

I am 50 years old and have several degrees and I have to say, hands down, Regan is the best professor I have ever had. Chem is hard. There's a lot to remember & the formulas & verbiage can be very confusing. Regan however broke it down to its simplest terms-just math problems. Chem is scary, but he taught me how to stay organized. How easy is that!

If you take his course you will not only be interested, you will feel like you can understand and do well even if you didn't feel like you were any good at math or chemistry before. He's an absolutely amazing teacher and he really does care and knows how to explain things to make them simple.

This was the best online class I have ever taken. I love how he uploaded actual recordings of his lectures for us to watch. It was just like we were in class with him. He made everything understandable to the normal person (he didn't talk in science talk). It was just an amazing class.

Regen makes explaining Chemistry like explaining how to brush your teeth. I knew nothing, but it was so easy to catch on.

He has been one of the most easy going, chill, and just generally great teacher I have had from this school. The work does get hard but his lectures goes into detail and before every lab he does a overview of the chapter so that he makes sure everyone understands. he also does magic tricks lol! DON'T waste money on the textbook, you don't use it.

He's so funny!! He was apart of a pretty famous band, lit me on fire (safely) and let me have the class I wish I could've had back in high school but missed due to covid. This guy is incredible and I couldn't have asked for a better chemistry teacher. He also sometimes speaks/writes in Russian and it's pretty funny honestly

He makes chemistry seem easy and does not use big words that most kids would get lost in, he makes sure everyone understands what he is saying. When I enrolled into Chemistry I was worried about the course. A couple of my friends told me to ask for Regan because having him as a professor they were able to pass the course. He was so helpful and caring and funny which made the class even more enjoyable he would explain things so well and thoroughly. I would love to have him again.

I really enjoyed watching the lecture videos. Professor was engaging, casual and effective. I was worried about the the videos being boring since it was an online class, but that wasn't the case here. The material was difficult at times but he did a great job presenting and focusing on the most important "take aways."
