I had her for Anatomy and physiology II. very nice and helpful. clear explanation if you read material ahead. her exam is critical thinking but it is worth it. I recommend her for everybody.
AMAZING. she loves biology, you'll see if you take her. Her tests are somewhat straight forward with 2 or 3 critical thinking ques. and extra credit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and she's absolutely adorable
Great professor! Explains things clearly, and her exams aren't too hard. She'll throw in some critical thinking questions to get you ready for nu-101. She's easier on her lecture exams because of the amount of material, but know your stuff on her lab exams.
She is an excellent professor. The materials are hard but she handles it so well. She is not boring at all. She builds a close-relationship with her students. If you dont understand something, she is more than willing to explain it to you.
The materials are hard itselt, but she learns how to work with it to make it a little easier for the students. I absolutely recommend her for hardworking and determine nursing students. I think that her exams are fair and straightforward. Very interesting class!
Very hard and very confusing teacher. Her exams are very hard and she likes to confuse students. She seems very nice but SHE'S NOT NICE AT ALL. Even you do well she grades you badly. Hope you won't take her!!!
She's a wonderful professor. If you don't understand something she is easily approachable, and will explain it in different ways until you do. She loves the sciences and it comes through in her teaching. Her tests aren't easy, but they are drawn from the material she tells you it will be on. Highly recommended.
Professor sullivan is one of the greatest teachers i have ever had. The course it's self is hard, but she makes it very understandable. i would reccommened her to any student taking bio courses. She is willing to take time to explain the subjects, and she has no problem answering questions. She's wonderful.
I had her for both lab/lecture. Gives great notes, very clear. Exams are mostly based on her notes. She makes jokes during class. We used Hole's textbook though which doesn't go into detail. Prof. Sullivan likes the old text better so I would recommend you checking out text/study guide by Martini & Seiger.
She is very nice and clear! Fair grader.Gives u what u deserve. Gives good notes and follows the text. Gives extra credit questions. She loves biology and makes the class interesting. Highly Recommended!
Nice professor. She gives good notes. Her tests are little hard. Don't take her lab. Her lab test is much harder than his lecture.
Great professor!!! Very sweet lady too!! Her lab test are pretty hard. Takes her time to explain the work and askes if evryone's on the same page often. Overall a great teacher, does a great job and has a great personality.
YO REGINA, STOP WITH THE CORNY JOKES PLEASE!!! :-D YA CORNBALL!
Great professor, Great person. Although the course could be organized just a little better. Overall an A professor. Oh yes, READ YOUR TEXTBOOK LIKE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO...if you're thinking about MED school. GOODLUCK, She REALLY cares about her subject, very knowledgeable, and really goes all out to get student involved!!
She seems a nice lady, her exams are very hars, and her questions are so confusing and weird!!! her lab practicals are so f***ing hard, and in class, she concentrates on life cycles of plants more that anything else and confuses the hell out of you, she will call you "soffisticated Biology students", the Final exam was extremely hard, she won't help
The best Prof. on Earth. don't know why some students gave her bad review. her exams are tricky..YES...but if you study like you are supposed to you will do well....also she gives so much extra credit so yes you can get an A.....ok
Sullivan is an excellent professor. She always has office hours available. Her exams are fair but tricky. You cant expect Biology to get any easier. She is very sweet and very dedicated. She gives extra credit so there is no excuse for failing her class. Read the book and study hard. Do practice questions and you wont find the class as difficult.
Dr. Sullivan is amazing. Her class discussions are incomparable; she truly makes you think and presents material beautifully...she is concise when it comes to mundane details, and emphasizes fundamental principles. She forces students to make connections. Attend every lecture and be prepared to learn and participate, and you will succeed.
This class is NOT a piece of cake at all, but sullivan is a good bio professor. she tries her best to make you understand the material. Had her for both lecture and lab,lab was murder compared to lecture but that was due to my own doing. Be prepared to do alot of work, but it will be worth it and sullivan will see to it that you succeed
She's a great professor. If you don't understand something she is easily approachable, and will explain it in different ways until you do. She loves the biology. Her tests aren't easy, but they are drawn from the material she tells you it will be on. Best of all she makes corny jokes, Highly recommended.
She is the greatest teacher in the world!!!!!!!!!! If u need this class then take her she is the most helpful sweetest woman in the world!! OK down to the work READ your book and u will be ok and i mean each chapter like 3-4 times! Listen too Sullivian you will hear questions that will come on the test spill out her mouth!!!! She is the best.
shes the best... she teaches to perfection, she guides you through the material and hes notes are great to study from.
Everybody in the class loves her! As she said, get ready to roll up your sleeves and do the work. If you get lost, she'll help you. Very sweet, my favorite professor yet! YOU ROCK PROFESSOR!!!!
Dr. Sullivan is one of the finest professors in the BIO Dept. Her tests were not that easy plus her notes are of shrunk version. So, reading text is a MUST if you want to pass her class. Engages students in discussions which clarifies things. She loves what she teaches. I have a lot of respect for this woman. Just an amazing human being. LOVE HER!!
Sullivan is a very good professor.. She is passion and cares about her teaching. She engages with her students. However, the material is hard but it gets easier as you study hard. Her exams are tricky because you never know what is going to be on them. The things she talks about in lecture hardly be on her exams. Take Sullivan if you love biology..
I loved Professor Sullivan. She may seem very harsh at first but she is a very nice woman if you don't get on her bad side. She really knows her stuff and is always willing to answer any questions. Her notes are VERY important. They are basically like a guideline for the tests because she doesn't test you EVERTHING. STUDYING IS A MUST to do well.
She is a wonderful professor for lecture and lab, I recommend taking both with her She expects serious college work from you and you should! She is intimidating at first, but she is attentive and fun to talk to and open to comments, questions, and opinions. She really listens! She may not be the easiest professor, but she's one of the best! CHEERS!
stay awayshes very nice sweet and funny but her teaching she adds so much fluff to the simplest topics, makes up her own words which makes things confusing, test are very tricky.good shes trying to help med students for the mcats but she should just be teaching the material encouraging us and helping us with the exams somehow..she does the opposite.
she is "easier" for lab than lecture.. she is nice and helpful but i reccommend READING AND MEMORIZING every LITTLE peice of information she gives you, bc she tests you on everything. she drops the lowest quiz grade.. just study a couple days in advance before every lab quiz. talk to her after class and ask qs so she knows you care
Sullivan is certainly entertaining. I love listening to her stories. Although they deviate from the lecture. Anyways, she's a good professor. Although, I wish she would be a little more in depth sometimes. As for her tests.. let's see.. If you have amazing photographic memory, you will do well. Otherwise, study, study, study!
Prof. Sullivan is one of the most knowledgeable professors I've met especially when it comes to biology. She gives good real life examples from her personal experiences as a researcher. Be prepared to study and read the book because she is not easy but helpful and amazing teacher, highly recommended!
Professor Sullivian is an amazing bio teacher. This was my second time taking bio and I understood more with her than my previous professors. Her tests are not easy but she gives so many extra credit opportunities and they do help.
She is a good professor for lecture. She is some what organized and lacks in depth information about important topics. As for lab I would not recommend her. She is a sweet lady though.
Biology in general is not easy, so if your looking for an easy A just go for a different major period. she explains well, she's organized, but doesn't give extra credit. in her exams she's testing your knowledge and how you apply it, not how well you can memorize a term. She said she can count in one hand the ppl that have gotten A's in her class
1) She is Very helpful that's for sure! 2) One of those professor whose exams are EXTREMELY tricky and hard! In the 1st day of the class she said ''If you study hard u MIGHT end up with ''B'' and certainly after studying Extremely hard i ended up with B. 3) She most probably will LOWER your GPA!4)She is very knowledgable but i won't recommend her
Professor Sullivan is an absolute sweetheart. She is not an easy A! She gives critical thinking questions which are based on what you learned in class. If you didn't learn something and it appears on a test, you automatically get credit. HOWEVER, YOU MUST STUDY. You must study for several weeks before your tests to do well. Otherwise very nice lady
Amazing professor!!! Wish I had her for bio 201. Very straightforward tests are easy only if you take time to read chapters I did about 4-5 times knew the Vocab and pay attention to what she talks about in class and you'll do great. I got an A- along with taking Chem and micro so imagine how great she was!! and gives up to 10 points extra credit!!
She is one of those teacher you want to bring a shiny apple to.
She's an amazing bio professor although her jokes can be corny she is a great person and really sweet. Wish she taught bio 301. She really makes you enjoy her lectures and bio in general.
I do not like her. First day of class she told the class that she doesn't do powerpoint and that she thinks professors who teach off from power points don't deserve their salary? Um, I would like you to teach a lecture hall without a power point. Seriously.
Lessons do not correspond well to the tests at all. Very arrogant professor who expects her students to immediately understand everything she teaches. Intimidating and not welcoming to students questions. Judgmental and needs an attitude adjustment. Cannot teach bio. Does not make the course interesting and exciting to learn whatsoever.
Aready lost respect for her. Doesnt teach clearly. terrible explainer. Dont read book and you'll fail. Simple as that. Not a joyful person. You'll be afraid to ask her anything. Recruited a student for research based off of excessive participation in class - when we havent even taken a test yet. Completely unfair.
Biology in college is generally tough so no matter who you take, this course will still be tough as nails. However, she does give extra credit so it'll curve the test grades. She also gives visual aid which can also be found on Blackboard. Read the textbook. Also I found the questions she use on the exams come from Biology Quizlet (very useful).
One of the worst professors you could possibly take. Makes biology really hard to understand and does not simplify anything for you. The subject is hard enough but she doesn't do anything to help that. Will most probably drop your gpa
an ok prof. not the best but not the worst, second worst next to schneider. tests r extremley difficult. it is up to u to study and do well bc she will not go in dpeth and clarify things for u. if u wanna do well make sure u r not taking any other major classes besides hers bc u will haveto spend all of ur time on her class only. GL if u have her!
This should be the last professor u choose if you must ! should be fired shouldnt be qualified to teach. get ready to have no life and spend all of your time reading course textbook. best of wishes you will need it
She is a nice professor. She is willing to help students. BI 201 is not an easy class. In order to get good grades in the exams, you should read the textbook thoroughly and listen to her lectures. She gives extra credits before exams. Even though her exams are tough, If you do the extra credit you can get a decent grade. I
only take this professor if you are serious about learning otherwise do not waste your time and others
Regina Sullivan is the toughest Bio professor, probably in the whole CUNY system lol. For real, she is very hard on her students and I probably wouldn't recommend her to anyone. Her lab is so hard and lecture is even harder.
By far one of the worst professors I've ever taken at qcc, If you ask a question she'll make you feel so stupid by it. She acts as if we know everything and still remember everything from 201. I'm an A student but by studying my ass off i managed to pass with a B, regret not dropping the class.
Horrible. Point blank. Don't do it to yourself guys
I had her for lecture and lab. She says something else and something else appears on the labs quizzes. Her lecture exams is off the campbell biology questions. I really don't recommend her. She is very smart, however she doesn't quite guide her students through exams and lab quizzes.
Her lectures are ridiculously good. You really just have to show up to class and take thorough notes, however if you are unable to keep up with the lecture you almost are forced to read the chapters. Her Lab is insanely in-depth, you must study extensively unless you have a good anatomical foundation which most don't, and if they do it's mammalian.
Don't take her guys unless she's the last choice. I don't know how she got a 3.9 on rate my professor review but the truth is she don't even know how to teach and her quizzes and exams question were horrible. Makes the subject so uninteresting and will throw a bundle of stress on you. Will pull down your gpa drastically, Don't do this for yourself.
EASIEST LAB PROFESSOR EVER! I did not take her for lecture, but she is so good. She's always encouraging questions, explains everything. Amazing, take her for lab you would not regret.
She seems very strict but has a good heart, she is a nice lady.
Worst Biology professor. She's very rude and makes you feel dumb when you ask her a question. She can't teach. She doesn't explain clearly. Tests make no sense. Sometimes the tests don't relate to what we manage to learn in class. You have to read the textbook and teach yourself because she is useless. Don't take this class, it will F up your GPA.
I can only speak for bio202 lab and i would deff recommend her. she looks very mean but her quizzes are simple if you study. i don't know why her reviews are so bad but for lab she is great. i learned a lot and sometimes she even gives you hits as to what will be on the test. You have to be dedicated i order to get that A !
I took her Lab last spring. She is awesome professor. As bio 202 is tough class, her exam is a little hard too. Be ready to read and understand all of the notes and manual, computer lab. If you contribute your time to study, her exam is not hard as you think.
She very rude and doesnt explain anything, so get ready to google and read the hell out of that lab manual and she does not even interact or help students during lab.
Tough but wants you to understand. Definitely not easy. Read the text book take pride in studying and competing to be a better student. I took her this summer and In the end if you worked hard you'll feel good about your grade because you earned it. Stick to your notes as a guide through the text book. There is no homework.
She is a good teacher. Although, she is very tough and picky at grading, she was willing to help me when ever I had a question. She can get rude with people but she wants her students to take biology serious. Once again she is a tough grader she is very picky and wants specific answers. So study the lab manual, textbook or notes.
Shes a nice lady and she knows the material but her explanation of it is not that well which is the problem . The students and I in our class had to beg her for extra credit to help boost our grade . I would say take another bio prof if you can .
She is tough and expects you to know material from last semester. But she is a caring and wonderful professor. She tells it like it is so you know exactly what to expect to get good grades. Review notes and textbook as much as you can because her tests can be tricky. Gave us a lot of extra credit opportunities that really help your grade.
Proff Sullivan is the best Bio Lab teacher at QCC. She is a tough grader but is for your own good, you must study hard and you will be reward at the end. Do not skip class you would not understand the next lecture bc you missed that one and you would fail. If you really want to increase your knowledge in the Bio world TAKE HER. :)
DO NOT TAKE HER. Plz.
Expects you to know EVERYTHING from bio 201, gets upset when the class doesnt know the answer to her question. Is mean when someone has the wrong answer. Mean professor
She not understanding at all
She is very good Professor I really like her. But her tests are very heavy. No review sheets. You need to spend almost all of your free time to prepare for her the test.
You truly have to study harddd for this class. Her exams were harder than they should have been especially compared to other classes. She does not give any review sheets & the textbook is helpful to an extent. I did questions online, recorded her lectures, & read the textbook. Shes a sweet lady, I like her. Lots of extra credit. But very difficult.
I had her for Lab, she was very very inconsiderate and mean. She lit would whisper her lab lecture to only the two tables at the front of the class if anybody was to speak during class even if they were just asking a question to a fellow classmate. Everytime she asked a question, she would say not to even bother answering if u are just guessing.
Took her during the 7WSummer and had her for both lecture and lab. This class was very difficult, but Prof. Sullivan made clear indications as to what we should expect. Bio is a hard subject, and her exams really made you think outside the box. Her lab exams were much more terrifying than the lecture exams. If you have a passion for Bio, take her!
Her tests are ridiculous. You could have the right answer, but if you dont write it exactly how she wants it its considered wrong. Also if you fight for your grade shell claim that shes going to change it, but in the end your grade will stay the same. Save your gpa! Dont take this class.
Seems like most of these reviews are based on the subject difficulty, and with that I can't disagree. Its difficult, but her class inspired me to work harder for my grades. She isn't mean at all; she even gave free points for each exam and multiple review sessions prior. She cares. Take her!
Professor Sullivan is the best biology lab teacher at QCC. I give her the credit for both my bio lab and bio lecture grades. By taking this professor's bio lab, I also developed a better understanding of my biology lecture. She encourages you to get an A in biology.
She is really nice as a person but as a professor she's really hard, she actually wants you to learn the topics and not just remember them so she gives out scenerio questions on the test, so that what made it hard, she doesn't give out any homework or projects, only test.
Overall she is very nice as a person and considerate but her tests are extremely difficult. She wants the answers a certain way and if they arent written her way the question is wrong. She gives review and extra credit to compensate but I wouldnt recommend her.
Honestly best professor hands down. She is not only an amazing professor but also a great mentor. Really cares about her students and willing to help you outside of class. You get what you put into the class. Tests are fair, must study the material and be able to explain what you learned. It was a smooth transition to online learning with her help.
she makes me want to drop out. her tests are literally impossible she cares more about cheating than actually learning. her reviews are vauge and she is petty. her lectures are just her rambling on and showing off her knowledge. she cannot take feedback either and is very sarcastic. i wish i never signed up for her class other reviews are false.
She explains everything in a concise manner. The class is pretty easy, and she gives extra credit opportunities. She also offers you tutoring sessions twice a week. She never gets upset when you ask a question, it seems like she genuinely appreciates your question.
Do not take the class, save yourself the headache and take a different professor if you have the option.
She isnt the worse however for exams she wants her answers to be very specific word for word what she said in lecture or on her slide if you write exactly what she says 90+ for the test shes quick to say students are cheating if not. I took it as a WI it wasnt that much writing which is a positive she gives 3pt quizzes for extra credit
Very disrespectful to students. I decided to meet her during office hours and she yelled at me and insulted me for no reason. Her study guide does not help with the exam either. She does not give any homework to boost your grade, only exams. Do not recommend.
Take her for lab!!! You’ll do better finding someone else for lecture. Make sure you study really hard all the details. She asks questions you wouldn’t expect which the whole class agreed on.
Her class is tough. Her reviews for the exams don't help as much, but she is passionate about the subject she is teaching. She gives you in an inch but you have to study and read the textbook for that yard.
Professor Sullivan is not great as a teacher. At the beginning of the class she was helpful and give reviews but late in the course she stopped giving helpful reviews. The exams are very difficult. She does give some extra credit which is nice. For this bio class I do not recommend this teacher.
Only Exam based this time. She has exam reviews unless emergency, If you prove your answer was decent or half right she'd give points. Her exams are heavy around 50q(MC)(LEC) but EVERYTHING on the slides was always on the exams. Gave 10 extra cred points for last 2 LEC exams. Talk to her after class it helps. Expects you to KNOW your Bio201. Pzp
Pzp continued. Exam based Lab(40%) identify diff dissected animal organs. Lab exams 10qs this semes. First 3 exams she calls up students to give personal feedback. Dropped lowest grade out of I think 5exams. Almost all info on slides was on exams. DO NOT take class ONLINE unless you have serious discipline/time.
Very sarcastic, and likes to embarrass the students when they cant repeat what she says. Reviews for test is not what is on the exam. I thought she was nice at first but i dread taking this class. instead of reviewing for a test she continues moving on to more and more material. Stay away ! pray for my gpa
I lovedddd her she's so funny and caring really!!! when it comes to her exams you just have to study, and attend her test reviews i PROMISE if you do that, you will not fail her class. Great professor I really recommend taking her.
Her examinations don't line up with the material she teaches, even though I had her for both lecture and lab for biology. I would strongly advise against enrolling in her course.
Dr. Sullivan is a great professor. But with any STEM course, it requires far more studying and preparing that you think. Getting an A is possible, you just have to prepare until you can recite what you learned. She offers extra points often and tells you what she expects on lab exams for full credit. It's pretty straight forward, just study 24/7.
She is one of the best professors I had so far. She cares about her students. She gives a lot of extra credit. She is a very caring and kind person. I took this class as an e-premit student. I wish I could take her for my every bio class.
Shes a great person but her teaching style is a little outdated. You really have to put in the work to get an A. She posts reviews before each test which are really helpful tho!
I had Dr. Sullivan for 201 and I had her for 202 she is the best at qcc very caring and do her best to help students. She post reviews and previous lectures on each chapter which was so helpful I just love her. She is always my favorite. EXTRA CREDIT.
This professor was designed to teach biology 202!!! she is absolutely awesome, she gives lots of extra credit left alone review for tests which are really helpful I promise you!!!! Highly recommend to take her you wouldn't regret it.
Super considerate and intelligent professor. I had a great experience in class with her. She gives reviews for classes before exams and it really narrows down exactly what you have to study. Everything on the exam is stuff that she's taught before.
PLEASE add her to Lab Bi 201. She's an awesome teacher in every which way. Makes you want to have her for your lab too since she only teaches lecture once a week for some reason....
She's an eh professor but has TONS of work and exams are difficult. Only take her if your skilled at this subject.
she is an okay professor, she gives extra credit and homework but her exams are kind of tough trust me you'll find all the MCQs on Quizlet which apparently she doesn't want us to use.
Dr. Sullivan is a professor who should be teaching BIO 202 she made this class harder than it needed to be. I relied heavy on lab to even understand lecture, she has very little extra credit and can go off on tangents during lecture to the point you can't focus anymore. I recommend taking Dr. Novick heard great things about lecture and great at lab
Lab quizzes before you start class. She gives tired working woman. ifywim. You have to study lots. Somethings on the test can be tricky imo. She is honestly hilarious cause she has such a dry sense of humor. She uploads videos related to test for your advantage. PLEASE WATCH THOSE and LISTEN to her in class bc not everything is on those videos.
Professor Sullivan is caring and makes a tough class manageable. Her test reviews are really helpful, and using resources like Unstuck study alongside the textbook can make a big difference. Attend class and study hard - it's worth the effort.
Dr. Sullivan is so kind and quite funny. She is very understanding and helpful. She makes a tough class enjoyable. Fair exams, and lots of extra credit oppurtunities. I had her for both lecture and lab. She is very thorough and explains concepts well. She also posts videos of exam content reviews before each exam so you know exactly what to study.
Dr. Sullivan was amazing! She is funny and caring and very approachable. Her lectures were clear and gives good feedback. I had her for lab and it was the easiest lab I ever took.
Prof. Sullivan cares about making a difference. Her labs are fun and engaging, from testing your vision to urinating in a cup and checking its components, you will love this class! Everything you need to know for the lab exams are built into the questions on the google slides. I would definitely recommend her as a lab professor for BI520!
I had her for Bio 202 lecture and she wasn't bad. She is easy to talk to outside of class. Anything she writes on the board, write it down to study, also always watch the reviews she gives. There is a good chance those exact questions will show up on the exam. She also does give a little bit of extra credit. Put in the work and you can do great.
Mrs. Sullivan was an excellent professor. She provided clear schedules, study guides, and recorded lectures. She graded fairly, encouraged class participation, and allowed makeup tests. I learned a lot in this 5-week BIO 150 course and retained a lot of new information as it relates to my field of study. I highly recommend her to other students.
she's not the worst professor out there but if you want a lecture to be well WRITTEN on the board and dissected including parts that have alr been covered but wouldn't hurt the lesson to still include to benefit a deeper understanding then she ain't that type of lecture prof you would benefit from , nothing profounding like other professors.
I had professional sullivan for BI 202 lab and she is a caring professor who wants her students to pass. She may seem intimidating but she is really sweet. Her lab exams are pretty heaving on labeling organs and the functions but she provides study guides but you must put in the work to study and focus.
