Excellent teacher , very helpful and patient . I totally recommend him. i would definitely take College algebra with him .

The Teacher is very young and youthful he also does a very good job teaching, he goes around and the class room to help each students one at a time. and gives us time to actually do the problems instead of lecturing all day long. However be warn he does not curve test grades and the finals are really hard but not required to pass.

Professor Ponce is probably the best math teacher! He is really good at explaining new material. The test are hard, but if you pay attention you will do fine. There is a lot of homework online, but it helps you with the class. Prepare for the exams, like i said they are not easy. The final was easier than the test thougout the semester.

He gets confused. I corrected him many times. Good thing is he is nice and recognizes his mistakes. However, he doesn't know to to explain, he complicates things. Learn the material, memorize the formulas it is extremely important. Towards he end, he helped us improve our grade I got a B, I deserved an A, i worked my butt off!!!!

Overall good professor! He knows his stuff and is helpful in class. He's the type of professor that wants to make sure you earn your grade. His quizzes are hard, if you don't fully understand the material you won't pass.

good teacher! explains how formulas work. tests are hard but grading is fair. make sure to attend class and study everyday and you'll do fine. I suck at algebra and i have gotten a couple of A's on my tests. its possible you just have to try. Bear with him and you'll get it.

Professor Ponce loves Calculus, he is an excellent teacher and will stop and repeat a problem until you get it. Always available in his office for extra help. 4 tests a Final an multiple quizzes that become a test grade. HW is optional but I suggest doing it calculus is hard and you WONT be using a calculator! definitely suggest taking him.

this is my second time taking this class, i had failed the first time because my teacher was so terrible. this teacher is one of the best math teachers i've ever had and makes it EXTREMELY easy to understand the concept of the problem. he uses colored markers to help follow along the steps. DEFINATELY CHOOSE THIS TEACHER!!!!!

i hate maths, but when i took this class, it was so easy. The professor is very helpful and easy to understand. His methods of teaching is extremely amazing. i will definitely recommend him to anyone who hates maths and wants to pass this class.

Prof. Ponce was great. Math isn't my favorite but he will not move on until you understand. He was down to earth and easy to talk to, really funny. If math isn't your favorite this guy will help you tons.

One of the best professors that I have had in my academic career. Not an easy class, he makes you earn your grade, but he really cares about his students and will help you as much as he can. He makes lectures interesting and has a good sense of humor. If you want to learn, take him; you won't regret it.

I personally am terrified of math but this professor knows his stuff and can actually teach it! Doesnt give up on the students if theyre stuck and will try every way possible to explain the material so that it is understandable. I recommend this professor to anyone who WANTS to do well in math. I have always HATED math but Prof. Ponce made that disappear. He explains math in a way that the worse math student(me) can understand. Do not pass the opportunity to understand the material and do well. I cant wait to take him again next semester. I got an A in his class which has NEVER happened before. TRUST ME, TAKE HIM! Took this professor for algebra and all i can say is that his test are pretty damn hard. He doesn't let you use a calculator on the tests at all and expects us to know all the formulas. i wouldn't recommend this professor unless you want to study all day everyday. he is nice though.

I took Professor Ponce during the summer and he really helped out with my math! He breaks everything down just right and it really helps with course work later on. Only complaints would be aleks, but it must be done. Other than that, if you show up and do your work, result will be an A.

I LOVED THIS CLASS! It was every day (except for fridays) but I learned sooo much and comprehended everything. You have aleks work to do but you can honestly just use mathway. But the aleks work helps if you need extra practice, I understood what he said in class so I just did it to do it.

He is a excellent professor. This was my second time taking him first for sta1101 and mgf1106 . He breaks down the subjects into ways that are very clear.

He is a good professor & always tries to answer everyones questions. He gives a review for each test, which are similar to the actual test but not exact. Can be confusing at times when teaching the material but if you put in the effort at home you will understand and the tests won't be too bad. Does not curve your grade.

I hate math. I cant believe that I passed with a B! He explains everything to things you will understand. MyLabs has a lot of homework but try to get a good grade on that. He answers all questions to make sure everyone understands . He also gave an extra credit project. I wish he taught STA2023

Great professor! He teaches the topic thoroughly & in a way that's easy to understand. However, if you're not familiar with most topics from math, you shouldn't take this course bc you will lose yourself along the way. Mylabsplus will be pretty lengthy but if you take notes & pay attention in class, it'll be a breeze for you.

Professor Ponce is one hell of a math teacher. I am the worst at this subject and I got myself a B. For the most part, everything was clear and to the point. Gives extra credit and HW counts as a test grade. If you don't pass the class, it is all your fault.

By far the best math teacher I have ever had. If someone even had a confused look on their face he would stop to help them understand. If anyone had any questions he could explain how to do it forwards, backwards and a shortcut/easier method to remember. I was going to transfer out of BC, but I'm going to stay for all his Calculus courses.

He is a kind professor who actively want to see you pass. So please attend his classes every day, so you wont miss any lessons. He will definitely help you if you dont understand the material. The book isnt necessary but you do need Stats-lab code. youll definitely pass, just focus on the lecture. Plus hes funny in his own way

Perfect Calculus II teacher, it's a very rigorous course, but he's the right guy to lead you through it. Very good at explaining things, is always welcoming to help out students, and is an extremely laid back guy. His only flaw is that at times, he's a bit harsh on students who ask simple questions. Other than that, perfect professor.

Ive taken other Calculus teachers and its either theyre too hard to understand or theyre a little too lenient and you wont really learn calculus at all. He is probably somewhere in the middle, he explains things thoroughly and even takes some time to revisit old concepts we may have forgotten. I will definitely be taking him for Calculus 3.

This prof is really good and makes possible to learn math! I started STA 1001 without know even how to find a square root, and after 4 moth I learned what I didn't for 20 years. I know math!!!! Prof. Ponce teaches very clear and makes sure that every student understand all subject applied. I really recommend this professor.

Best math professor Ive had. His lectures are thorough and he gives many examples to help students get a better understanding. Seems to actually care about his students understanding the material and passing. The tests r fair & the homework is tedious but you have to be sure your answer is in the form the way Pearson has it set or it will be wrong

I took STA1001 in the fall with him and he is incredible. His teaching method is laid back and he is repetitive when teaching a topic. He has clear grading criteria and offers extra credit. Recommend him to anyone who has difficulty with math.

The best professor I ever had. I took him for Calc 2 and Calc 3, and he was phenomnenal. The courses are going to be hard no matter what, that's just how Calc goes, but he explains things clearly, shows many examples, and lets you know exactly what he expects from you. Amazing professor, one of the best at BC.

I love ths professor. he was the best math teacher I've had in college (so far) hands down. he cares about his students and wil make up problems and go over them until ever student in his class undertsands the material. No textbooks but we did have to do aleks and finish each chapter by a certain deadline. A hw sheet at the end of each class.

Took him in the summer, and he's very nice! hes friendly and cares about his students. a little confusing and disorganized with notes though. i had to rewrite them and sort of teach myself the lessons. there was extra credit on every test, and no final.

I was nervous for this class since I had never taken Calc 3 but Ponce is an excellent teacher and I never felt too lost. He always answers questions and never makes you feel dumb, even though we had to move online for COVID19 he was still an amazing teacher. Beware the only grades are tests but he prepares you well

I've taken Professor Ponce for 3 high-level math courses and I can confidently say that he is one of the best profs at BC. He teaches you everything you need to succeed, cares for your success, is clear about grading, is kind with extra credit, willing to go out of his way outside of class to help, and much more. Put in the work and u will love him

Very nice professor if you need help he is willing to help. He does the practice tests in class as a review for the test and the homework is 3 points extra credit.

Everything was online for this semester, attendance wasnt required because everyone got kicked out of bc collaborate individually during class. We had a test every 2 weeks and the homework was in mymathlab, I had lot of homework

Maths can be challenging but Professor Ponce breaks it down so that you can understand. He is also available for office hours for one on one when one needs additional lessons on a challenging topic. He also encourages us to utilize the math bootcamp provided by Broward for tutoring sessions - theres no extra charge for this. Amazing Professor!

He honestly will go question by question with you. A lot of people were not outspoken enough, but I didn't mind looking like I needed the extra help especially if Professor Ponce was willing to give it! I failed my first MAC course, but with his teaching style I got an A.

Professor Ponce is great, especially if you struggle with math. He sometimes rushes class because he likes to be on time but has no problem with staying on after class during office hours to help. There are a lot of assignments on ALEKS, all anywhere from 10-30 questions long. Do the work and take good notes and you'll be fine!

Professor Ponce was amazing and by far my favorite math Professor. I took his college algebra course and it paved the way for my future math classes. You can come to him to ask questions and he will work with you until you understand it fully. Pay attention in class because he will drop test questions during his lecture. Calc is def, not easy but this prof made it more simple to understand. He cares for his students and is very flexible with office hours. There are 2 quizzes and 1 Test for each Section. There was a total of 8 quizzes and 4 tests + Final. He gives reviews for the test which is very similar to the test. You can also do HW for extra credit.TAKE HIM

Professor Ponce was incredible! Her class was tough, however, she provides extra credit and fast feedback for support during time in the course. She is very kind and really wants her students to succeed in her class. Also, she takes off assignments in order to help your grade and rounds it up so there is a higher chance to pass with her! TAKE HER!

He is passionate not only about mathematics as a subject, but also passionate about teaching students the application of mathematics and ensuring that his students fully grasp and understand a concept. Class was live on zoom as well as in person.

Best math professor I've had at Broward. Genuinely cared about his students, but makes you earn your grade. Calc is a tough subject, but his lectures were clear and understandable. Don't be scared to ask questions! He's more than happy to help. He lectures on Zoom at the same time so skipping isn't an option. Your effort reflects your grade.

The only math class that I have actually enjoyed! He's soooo kind and considerate of his students and really cares about your understanding of the material. I purposely drove further than I needed to to take Professor Ponces class. The class is definitely NOT easy, but I got the grade I deserved and tried my hardest. At the end of the semester he let me make up some homework I didnt do the best on to bump my grade up to a "B" and I was very appreciative. I would have taken him for every math credit!

Professor Ponce was one of the best math professors I had while attending Broward College. The lectures were engaging and the classwork we did was fun. We did a few quizzes but at the end of every lesson we worked on group projects. You are able to interact with other classmates and get to know one another while working on projects.

This professor is amazing, and I can't emphasize this enough. He is that professor that makes it feel like there is no dumb question. HE LISTENS and truly loves what he does. I am bad at math but he was always willing to help me, take him and you won't regret it. He is the best professor; if you miss class, he streams and uploads his lecture.

Take him y'all. He's awesome. I've had my fair share of math professors and he is one of the best I've had. That man knows how to teach. His class consists of 4 exam, a final, quizzes and optional HW assignments that can be added onto your final grade for extra credit (for us it was 5%). He's super nice and can teach PROPOERLY. no regrets at all

Professor Ponce is by far one of my favorite math professors. I took him during the summer and even in a fast pace, he made sure his students understood the material and were ready to take the exams by giving and going over the test reviews and the homework. Very caring and attentive, would 100% take again.

This professor is awesome. I'm no mathematician by any means, and I was actually quite nervous to start college math. However, if you take Professor Ponce, do not be scared! He is very genuine and wants to make sure his students understand the material. This class is group project based, which made it easier to not be as scared of a bunch of tests.

Professor Ponce is literally such an amazing professor! I definitely recommend anyone to take him, he cares about every single student in the class and always try to help you succeed. If you don't understand something, he always explain the "why" is being solved like that instead of memorizing the steps. Do your assignments tho!!

I have no words, this professor was an amazing person! He would not go off text books nor off packets he has his own style of teaching, he helped me a ton throughout math. The professor's lectures are very good, and he cares about the students. Attendance isn't mandatory, but I do advise that you try to attend the lectures as much as possible. If you miss a day you can review the zoom recording of the lectures, as he records every lecture. He is understanding when it comes to due dates.

I could glaze this professor all day. Literally the best professor ever, I'm so bad at math and I passed his class with a 78%, I could've gotten higher if I did my ALEKS a little more, but besides that he's an amazing teacher.
