It is a very easy class, you dont even have to go. I think the teacher is new, that is why she doesnt know much, but overall i would recommend it as an easy A.

Easy A. If you don’t do fast track, you have pop attendance quizzes. This was her first semester, so give her a break. Speaks clear English. The material is easy and boring, so class isn't too interesting, but that is to be expected.

Some people may things that this class is boring, but let's be honest, they have the atention span of a chimp. I really learn a lot from this class, and I know it will help me later.

This is a good course for beginners who want to get a good grasp of the office suite. Fast track is a good option if you are good with word and excel.

do fast track!! If you want to go to class or ask any questions you can, even if you are on fast track. If you aren't you have to come to class and take quizzes. Her tests are soooo hard! You have to know ecery single key to press for everything!

Likely one of the most impactful courses I've taken so far throughout my academic career. I really learned. The people that say the class isn't taught well probably were not coming to class and likely had some sort of ego problem anyway. A class to take, and an awesome professor -- no doubt.

An easy A. period. Do fast track, do all modules and projects on time and you'll be fine. She also gives extra credit. Shes the best teacher you can get for a beginners level CS course. I rarely went to class but when I did, always had fun.

This class was crazy easy. It basically taught u all the microsoft office components which most people are already very familiar with. The class however is boring as hell so fasttrack is perfect. You only come for test and do everything else at home. Her class is definitely a GPA booster!

If you know how to used a standard computer, you will get an A. This class is almost too easy. If you know how to basically use Microsoft I recommend Fast Trak, you wont have to come to class.

Very easy class. Honestly noone should have anything to complain with this one, accept for the tests. Tests are challenging but are only a small percentage of the final grade. So just do well on the projects and homework, which are not hard and you'll be sure to get an A!

An excellent introduction to microsoft tools. Take fasttrack if your are familiar with microsoft offive tools.

Definitely a good class to take, teacher knows what she's talking about and conveys the information quite well to the students. The fasttrack option is something I passed on, but if you have a strong background in microsoft office, and its various tools, then you should shoot for that. At any rate, great class, great teacher, and good fun.

Fast track the class, but make sure that you keep an eye on the schedule for the midterm, final, and the days the modules and projects are due.

This class is no fun but not terribly difficult. Her midterm and final are ridiculiously hard compared to the rest of the material. She's pretty nice though, and tries to help. Fast track it if you get the chance...it's much better. You don't need the lectures for anything...they're very boring!

I took it fasttrack and it was VERY EASY. I received a 100 in class.

Interesting class. She always has interesting ideas and she likes to play 'devils advocate'. Do the reading and class will go by much faster because you won't have to rely on just her talking.

Come on people! This class was so easy. FAST TRACK IT! PLEASE! lol, you can be computer illiterate and STILL understand this. its a waste of time to attend class. I never once cracked open my book, but you have to buy it for the code to get online for the modules. The graders are helpful, the exam is pretty easy. Easy A. Trust me.

I highly recommend fast tracking the class. And don't forget to do modules, like I did. She's pretty hands off in the fast track, so i can't really comment on how nice she is.

Sweet Professor. Does what she can to help you understand. Take fast track...you will regret it if you take the regular class. Fasttrack-not responsible for pop quizes,no mandatory attendence, and 4 classes out the semester. Computer modules are a drag, Projects drain your brain, but overall...not a bad class.

She was a wonderful professor! I would probably not take the class again, because I knew a lot of the information before hand, but it wasn't neccesarily a bad thing to attend. You'll enjoy this class!

Very easy class, FASTTRACK it. Do not by the txt just get the access code. many people thought the graders were not helpful but u just have to be nice and visit them during their office hours for help rather than e-mailing them.

Although I was surrounded by a group of apes (my fellow classmates), I can honestly say this class was worthwhile. I learned things I didn't know, satisfied a general education requirement, and got a good grade. The TAs and the Professor are a phenomenal resource!

I fast tracked this class, and was glad i did. However, some of the instructions for the project were confusing so i had to go see the "graders" often to get assistance. She never responds to her emails so don't bother. The mid-term & final were hard..even though i studied. So don't stress over them, either you know the material or you dont.

Sweet class. Anyone that can't handle this class doesn't deserve to continue their college education.

fast track it! it's a rather easy A. if you fail this class, you need some serious help. Gupta is very helpful. If you miss one of the modules, even though the syllabus says you can't make it up, talk to her during her office hours and she'll make a way. you really don't need the book. waste of money.

Great class, phenomenal professor, great TAs. Here's the deal, you want good grades, you want a great professor, and you want decent TAs -- well, you get it all in this class. Yes, you'll be surrounded by your classmates who may reduce your intelligence, but alas, that's ODU. Enjoy a great class!

I fastracked, but some of the assignments were a bit confusing...so when I did have to meet with the prof or TA's they were really nice and super helpful. Prof Gupta is great. You can ask her anything and she gives grace =)

took this class online. The weekly assignments are easy by picking an article relating to current event topic, summarize, post, and participate in DB. One paper, one PowerPoint Project (with voice over) and exam. Might not seem like a lot, but these three project took me HOURS upon HOURS. It wasn't a difficult class, though.

i was reticent at first about taking this class, given my prior lack of computer knowledge, but the professor and the TAs in this class taught me how to be a productive world citizen. i'm better for it and you will be too.

Do NOT buy the textbook, just the code online. Fast-track this course. All you'll have to do is go in for the midterm and final. Just complete the modules and projects before they're due. Easy A, and you'll definitely learn a lot about MS Office's features.

this was by far the most annoying class i have ever taken. FAST TRACK or you'll be sorry. 50 minute lectures felt like 2 hour lectures. attendance quizzes are a pain and really bring your grade down if you miss one (my grade went from a 96 to a 75 just bc i missed 1 attendance quiz). Professor Gupta is nice and all, but this class was awful.

I took this class last semester and I have to admit I loved it. Being a computer novice, it turned out an introductory computer class was helpful. Unfortunately, I was continuously burdened by my fellow classmates and their awful antics, but that's life. I'd take this class again and I'd certainly recommend it to you. Excellent professor.

Great professor. Sticks to the syllabus and is helpful when you need it. There is some confusion in grading because you work as a "group" and although your grade isn't penalized if they do not participate, a lot of your work requires them to participate. I think she gets a bad reputation from people who expect her to hold their hand throughout the class. This class was an easy A for me. You MUST stay on top of the assignment due dates and the readings schedule. There is a pop quiz each week on the reading material, so do the readings. Don't complain, just do the work and show up for class.

It wasn't a hard class. We had a huge group paper to do which was annoying. When things were graded her TA's gave good instructions on what was wrong so you could improve your grade. Also, she is a nice lady. If you miss an assignment you can talk to her and she will try to help you out. The class was boring but it wasn't a hard one.

The entire class is one big group project so if you get in a good group your golden. Or if in my class you get in a group full of slackers your work is tripled and this class will be difficult. There are 3 major projects and a few presentations. The grading on these assignments was not particularly tough. However, the random quizzes are hard.

If you have a common knowledge of computers (what URL means, who invented the internet, http protocol, etc.), and know how to Google, congrats you will likely pass all the quizzes that are given each week without reading. For group projects, pick your group carefully and your topic. Show up to class always. Be on top of the deadlines. Goodluck.

Give extra credit for participation! There is group presentations, but they are pretty easy.

Professor Rekha was awesome. The class itself is VERY VERY HEAVY. Its a lot of work especially group work and research, way more than expected. Keep up with the class if you fall behind COMMUNICATE the staff will work with you. If you classmates are not working on the project as needed communicate that as well. Hard but interesting class.

Be careful to always complete the discussion board posts, respond to blogs and critiques. Easy class if you simply participate. Offers extra credit

Class felt too easy for a CS major, likely a good elective for other majors. Big ticket items were a PowerPoint presentation with voice-over, a small research paper, and a small blog post. The rest was commenting on other's work throughout the weeks. Would recommend for an easy elective, but not if you're after something rigorous.

Weekly discussion board posts, a PowerPoint, a 4 page paper, and critiquing other students slides. No tests or quizzes. Was definitely an easy class. Grading is a bit slow because its heavily relied on by her TAs. Grading rubrics for each assignment are very clear and she posts examples with them.

Professor Gupta is great, he has a straight forward syllabus you must follow. Little assignments worth 2 points do add up so do not miss any! Do the work and you'll get an A.

Professor Gupta is a great professor. She is very caring of others. If you want a good grade I recommend going to class everyday and keeping up with the readings and group/individual work. There are pop quizzes!!!

This is the most work Ive ever done for a class & I am a junior. Theres weekly quizzes, recitation exercises, and 3 group assignments which are extremely long, especially if your group isnt helpful. The instructions are different each document you open so make sure you follow both if you want to get a good grade. Easy A but LOTS OF WORK!!

Easy A! It's a simple research paper broken down into 3 major assignments. Work with your group to get the best grades. Instructor and TA always ready to answer questions if you have them. Very doable!

Professor Gupta's class was really easy and offered extra credit towards the end of the semester. Unfortunately for CS121 everything is group based work so if your group sucks it will show in your grade. Groups are made by the professor, and if you are having issues with group mates just talk with her and she will try her best to help you.

This class easy and I would recommend. I don't know why others are giving him such a bad review. They must have not done well from being lazy or something. The class itself was and just stay on top of your work.
