Great guy, loves answering to any questions you may have. Sometimes spends a little too much time on unrelated stuff but you can tell he really loves his job.

Great teacher. The class is easy if you put the work to it. He is a very creative person and embraces that creativity in his students, which means that the class is very open at times so for people who need a more structured class this might not be it.

Great Teacher. Helps out when you need it. He is very honest with students and lets you know what you need to improve. You will have to work hard.

Really enjoyed Renato as a teacher. There was always a great atmosphere in his class room, and it felt like an open environment to give and receive feed back. The one thing that could improve is at times there was a lack of clarity on assignments/whats expected and when they are due. Other than that I would recommend!

Also had him for CW-211, Renato has an animated personality who encourages and pushes creativity in a student. Eager to answer questions, very adaptable in his lectures, and definitely knows his way in the music business. Would recommend if you like the push

Renato's class was very fun and with great content. Lectures were totally cool, he always gives good feedback for projects and have time to answer questions which is very important. Projects were fun but demanding (in a good way) and there was always a positive attitude in the class! Recommended!

I would say "Awesome" many times if someone ask me about his class. I took his Directed study, and I already recommended his class to my friends many times. What I like the best was his idea and attitude. His lecture is always helpful and I really learned a lot. I can definitely say I learned more than other previous mixing classes. Take him!

One of the best teachers I've had at Berklee. He's pationate about helping students grow from their individual starting point. Plus, he's good at what he does so you'll learn a lot just being in the class. He's very accessible so it's easy to meet with him even if it's not during office hours. Renato is a must take in the Berklee CWP department!!!

Before I took his class I was not interested in writing for commercials, but it was so useful and inspiring that it actually got me considering this path as a career for myself. Caring professor who pushes you to think like a professional, explains homework with clear reference tracks and provides honest feedback for each assignt. Loved his class.

Renato's instructions are clear and he gives us advice and feedback as a musician in the real world. This involves learning how to record MIDI guitar (especially if one's a guitarist), writing pop songs (esp. for those who detest pop), and going bonkers with our creativity. He is very helpful during office hours and I would take his class again.

Renato is super nice. His classes are fun and have a really good vibe. He is super knowledgable about production, too. My favorite way to learn from him is to go to his office hours. He can give you SO much information one to one. The weekly assignments also made me get a lot better at production. He's a great first teacher to have for CWP.

Renato makes you work a lot!But it is worth it! I learned a lot in his Advanced ensemble writing class and I can't wait to take him for another class in the fall. If you wanna know more about production and arranging, he is the guy!

I took Sequencing and production techniques with Renato and I really enjoyed the work flow of that class. The whole thing was project based and we had to turn in a project every week. Because of that I learned a ton! I improved a lot a got very fast in working with logic. I'll try to get more classes with him in the future!Highly recommended!

Scoring to Advertising was the best class I've ever taken . Renato made us sharpen up our critique and objective observation skills . I heard he is only teaching that class during the summer, so you have to wait till then to take him . Totally worth it!

Renato is a gem. He's very passionate about production and will spend at least 20 minutes of each class showing us a song or artist he admires, and what we can learn from them. Great feedback. Emphasizes breaking out of the Berklee bubble and thinking about music in new, simpler ways. Also, he is hilarious.

Renato is inspiring, hilarious, and so knowledgeable. His feedback is realistic and honest. He is very caring and genuinely wants all his students to succeed. He won't waste time trying to help you if you don't care about the work. If you put in effort and ask questions, he will help you improve tremendously.

The negative reviews are stupid. Teachers aren't here to tell you how great you are and how u did everything correct. Yes he has a specific taste on what he likes and you can either complain about that or use his advice to try and help get your own writing better. Great teacher for arranging. Improved my writing tremendously

He is the funniest guy and such a charming & insightful professor. His classes are interesting & engaging & his assignments allow us to use the concepts he teaches in practical & creative ways. And though his feedback is always helpful, I do wish that he was a little more critical so that I could find more ways to improve. Overall great prof!

Renato really changed my view of Arranging. This class is hard, but because he divides big projects in small weekly assignments, I was able to finish all the projects on time and learn a bunch. I recommend him to everybody

Breaks up big projects into weekly assignments and requires 1:1 meetings outside of class to give feedback on what was submitted. This is fantastic. But, when missed, email response rate is low. I have several unanswered emails I sent to him when asking for additional feedback. He shows a lot of his own music and arrangements which is a great tool!
