She's an awesome professor! She's very clear on what she teaches and keeps the class interested. I was a nervous on taking this class but she made it my favorite class. Everything on the test comes straight from the book and she gives a study guide to follow. Your whole grade is based on 5 tests but she drops the lowest one. I got an A. Take Her!

Love this teacher! She is very approachable, explains everything well, and you can see that she really knows what she is teaching. Her tests require studying, and she provides specific outlines of what will be on her exams. As long as you put in the time to study, you'll pass.

I took this class for GE credit only. I personally don't find psychology interesting... Her lectures put me to sleep! If you like psychology already, you may enjoy her lectures, but if you are just taking it for GE, be prepared for a boring class. Its not hard, you have 5 tests, with specific study guides, just need to study a couple hours per test

Regardless of whether or not you're interested in psychology, Dr. Galbavy MAKES it interesting! She teaches so much, given that general psych covers A LOT of topics. Attendance isn't mandatory, and neither is staying back after class to ask questions (or review for the exam) but you'll want to, if you want a good grade! A must-take prof!

Wonderfully energetic lady! Her lectures are interesting & the stories she tells helped me remember everything she taught! she dropped our lowest test score, which is nice to know if you miss a test day your grade isn't effected. frankly if you're thinking of taking her class, GE or not, DO IT! Dr. G is an amazing teacher and really knows her stuff. Sh e keeps you engaged in her lessons. There were no assignments and your grade is dependent on the exams. She drops the lowest grade too which really helps you out as long as you try on all 5 of them. I only looked in the book once or twice for each test.

One of the best professors here at ECC. She has a PhD so you know she is the real deal and loves psychology. I learned more than I have learned in any other of my classes. There is no HW but 4 big tests which is what determines your grade. Study for the test and you'll get an easy A. Very very very well taught class by an amazing professor.

By far the best professor I've ever had. Not only is she very intelligent and informative, but she is hilarious and down to earth. I wish I took all my psychology classes with her. If you want to really learn and have fun doing it, then take her classes, you won't regret it. You just do the work, read by the syllabus and you'll do great.

By far she is the best teacher in El Camino's (Torrance) psych department. She teaches with enthusiasm and writes stuff on the board that's important. I took Professor Galbavy's abnormal psychology class and learned a lot. Her class was very straight forward, she is very organized. She gives you printable calendars with the assignments, the day they open, and the due date which is amazing when you're trying to remember the due dates for online classes. Definitely recommend her class.

I absolutely love professor Galbavy! She's so passionate about what she teaches, she values everyone's opinion and input and she is so bubbly. I highly recommend her for cultural psych, she presents so many interesting topics and opens your eyes to culture. Love her!

Dr. Galbavy is an excellent choice. Her tests are not hard but you should study for them. She also has case analysis that you have to do but she just looks for understanding of the diagnosis and your opinion on the case. She also has some personal examples which is pretty neat and is super enthusiastic about the subject. Would take again.

Grade is only based off of four exams, but they're SUPER easy if you show up to every class, write down everything she says/writes on the board, and turn them into Quizlets. Gonna miss her tbh!

Dr. G is the BEST psychology professor I've ever had at El Camino. If you get a chance, take all of your courses from her, including intro psych, psychopathology, and cultural psychology. I really recommend her cultural psychology since it's a UC transferable course and she teaches it with such enthusiasm. She care about her students so much A+++++

Ive taken Dr. G. for both Psyc5/15 because I loved her class so much. Dr. G. Is truly one of the best professors Ive ever taken. Id highly recommend her! No homework, hilarious/informational lectures, drops lowest test grade, very easy to talk to, and she allows 1 note card for every exam. Just dont use your phone in class and show up on time!

So here's the thing. I took Psychology online and I slacked off, but I know that I could've received 100% in the class if I was just attentive of my work. He drops grades that are the lowest both exams and discussions. Homework is extremely easy. Be prepared to enter each homework with an open mind. Trust.. its impossible to fail. Great professor.

Great professor and made the class interesting and enjoyable. The lessons consists of her just writing notes on the board and showing us interesting videos. To pass the class all you need is to take notes and make sure you use the flashcard she gives you for the exam. Gives you five exams (easy) and drops your lowest score. Would take her again.

By far one of the greatest professors I've had. The reason as to why I changed my major. Her lectures are so intriguing but your grade literally is based off your exams. Professor Galvaby's class is straight up from the beginning. If you read the book it's an easy A, you have discussions and tests every two chapters, if you read you'll pass, and the textbook it's actually cool, you learn things. She is good at feedback with discussions also and gives general responses. She is passionate and knowledgeable.

She's so funny and caring! She responds fairly quickly and is thorough with her criteria. 4 exams+ final (80%), paper (20%). She drops the lowest score, so if you are happy with your grade prior to the final, it's optional!

Professor Galbavy is so kind and responsive. I don't understand why they said she is rude. To me she was the opposite, I was struggling so much during covid. She was there for me, she was supportive and understanding. This is the second Psychology class I take with her. Lots of reading though!

Put in the work, do the readings and you'll get an A. Dr. D cares about her students and made her class super interesting. Textbook is required and expensive as well. There were either tests/discussions every week, and as long as you do the readings and take notes, you're good.

This class isn't very hard. Reading the textbook is very important for quizzes and exams. The discussion board topics are very easy but Professor Galbavy is a tough grader when it comes to discussion posts.

This Professor I actually took a few years ago. Shes the best psychology teacher Ive had. Her class made me change my major to psychology! Her lectures were interesting and she has a clear grading criteria. She is so passionate about psychology! 10000/10! Definitely take her for this class and for Abnormal Psychology.

She is really good at leaving feedback with discussions. I've learned alot in her course. I would definitely take her class again.

I managed to do every discussion post the day it was due and got full points for almost each one. She is a hard grader though. Tests were mc questions. Dr. G is simply the best. This was my second class with her and I loved it. We had six discussions and six exams (with respondus lockdown broweser, NO CAMERA) plus a cumulative. Expect to put some effort into the discussions and study for the exams well. Easy A for me but I realize it would be a good amount of work for some. Extra credit offered.

Professor Galbavy was a great professor. I took her Psyc 101 class over the winter. The discussions were super long but she did mention its because of the short amount of time for the class. A lot of reading and watching videos and citing the textbook and videos watched in discussions. Exams were multiple choice and easy if you read the material.

Great professor, lots of work though. In specifically Psych 15, she let us miss a chapter if it was too much for us to handle as some of the content is heavy and can be triggering. Even though we had a heavy workload, we were given a lot of good helpful information and extra content, and everything can be found in what she gave us to learn.

She is very kind. I dealt with being sexually harassed by a boy in the class and she was very understanding of my mental health. I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't tell her til near the end of the semester. Taking her asynchronous storm and auditing because you learn so much and I missed so much. LOVE HER 10000000/10!

The class was very easy and most of the time is spent working on the discussions which come every other week. The discussions involve a lot of citing of the textbook, or additional sources provided like documentaries or articles, although she said minimum of of 350 words expect to write 1000+ in order to get full credit.

This asynchronous course is manageable with other classes. I dedicated most of my time to her 500+ word count discussion post per week w/responses. She grades fair and has rubrics. The exams of 30Qs 30pts per 2 weeks were very straightforward with open textbook allowed. This class in general is very interesting and I did enjoy what I learned!

Psychology 101 was first class and the teacher made the entrance to the school as a whole a lot easier to transition in.

If you have an opportunity take her class! She is an outstanding professor. Take her in-person class, if you have the chance especially. You can choose to do 3 out of the 7 case assignments. 5 exams and she'll drop the lowest score. Exams and work are straightforward. Her lectures are interesting and fun, she creates a welcoming environment.

I think she is great, She is an amazing caring professor and is an amazing teacher when it comes to the lectures. 100% would LOVE to take again.

Dr.G was a great professor and her lectures never disappointed. The tests are extremely easy you just have to have good lecture notes. She wants everyone to have good grades and that is clear. One big thing though: never be late to her class or at least don't make it a habit. I would retake this class every semester if I could.

She gives mini quizzes based on the reading but you can go into your book to answer them. There are also multiple video quizzes and clinical virtual activities. Five discussions and no tests.

This course is definitely manageable! There is 5 discussions but she drops the lowest discussion grade. The post are 800+ word count but gives you enough time to submit and around 6 assignments due every other week but they are not very long. This class was very interesting! She accepts no late work or assignments so always check due dates.

She gives you a whole week to turn in your work so don't make up excuses for late work as she will not accept them. Super easy homework just answering questions from the textbook and videos. 5 discussions. She is a bit picky so make sure you check the rubric.

Dr.G is an example of a professor you will never forget. She is so knowledgeable and excited to share her knowledge. I felt like she wanted me to succeed and move forward to learn more. I will definitely be looking for more of her classes.

The best teacher I've ever had here by far was nice and understanding . Funny, her lectures were clear. The only thing you need to do is go to lectures and read the free textbook and you'll do well on the tests. She even lets you have a flashcard and goes over the test beforehand. for the assignments to be there and you'll be fine.

The professor was very easy to reach and responsive. She is very flexible and understanding what she requires is clear. The app though ( since this was remote) was very much a waste of money. The spelling was bad/ not clear for a college textbook. Her discussion posts responses are quite enlightening and peer responses which is nice to have.
