Ms. Liu goes over homework and her lectures are discussed at a quick pace. She'll go over a quick review the basic algebra skills, but don't waste any time in her lecture. She'll assign homework everyday and collects it.

She's a very good teacher. Very clear, really helps you to succeed. I mean, anyone smart enough to have pretests is a good teacher. If you just use the practice tests to study, you'll get As all the way (I did).

She's very easy. She seems so shy looking and stuff, but she's really cool. She goes through all the steps and stuff very thorougly. Whats funny though is her egg shaped chalk. On the first day, I was like O_O?? Haha.

Very good teacher who explains everything very clearly, so if you just pay attention, do the homework and practice tests, it's a gauranteed A. If you don't do well in her class, you can only look to yourself for the answer.

I love how clear she is, she makes everything very clear and the notes are super helpful, my only problem is that she doesn't collect the homework.

Really great teacher. She made it easy to understand with her clear overhead projector writing with different color pens. You have to be in class every day, but with math it is a must, lets face it. I feel very prepared for the next level math. Thanks Ms. Liu!

Ms. Liu was the best math teacher I have ever had, and I hate math! I got an A in her class but it wasn't easy, you have to work hard and attend every class to really understand. She gives some credit for HW and attendance. No matter what algebra is difficult so take advantage of the tutors in the Tutoring center and the solutions manual is a must!

I like her very much. I took her for my 840 too. The test are easy as long as you do the practice test and gives extra credit. Her explanation is clear in Alegebra, i dont know for higher level. i think she's good for algebra so take her if you need 860 but not for higher level math like the other are saying.

Very good teacher. goes over everything step by step and never gets annoyed with any questions. ex: this one dude asks questions every 5 minutes about a problem, even though everybody was pissed off in a way, she wasnt and gladly explained everything until he understood. take her for math 840

she explains great! an easy class too if u are doing ur homework regularly.. her exams are based on the problems in the text book. she is helpful.. kind.. and u will have extra-credit opportunities too.. she really is a great one - u won't know that in the first.. u will kno that .. :P

Great teacher. Gives extra credit opportunities. Practice tests are given before each exam. Do the practice tests and you'll be okay on test day. She teaches straight from the book. Explains problems thoroughly. Willing to help during office hours if needed.

Great teacher... love how she teaches with her own techniqes she learn from when she back in china. She is very clear on explaining problems.. have hw where u turn in every friday and its not a lot. I just love how she has a song for the quadradic fromula hehe..

Love Ms. Liu. She's so cool. Feel like I'm in Chinese 6th grade class which is novelty. Ask her to sing quadratic Jingle Bells. Ms. Liu is calm and has a great sense of humor. Also, loved her "silent" class due to laryngitis. It was spectacular . I'll miss Ms. Liu.

Pros: she makes the math class easy. I tried taking this class but dropped many times, but she made it easy. Cons: she is late 90% of the time and the other 10% she doesn't show up. But she is cool...

OMG!! She made this class so easy! I was never good at math, but her teaching style was awesome. She goes step by step so youre never lost. She answers all questions and answers them in the end of the class too. She also goes over homework problems if you have any questions. I can't say more. She's one the best math teachers. VERY NICE!

THE BEST I tried taking math 860 like 3 semesters before, and I always dropped because I was lost or I was failing the class. BUt she made it so easy. I got my first A's on math tests. yeah, she's kinda late almost always, but once she's there, she teaches what you need to learn, not stupid crap that you are never gonna use. A+

She is sweet. but you would want to come to class because in the beginning attendance doesnt really matter, but as the course goes on she speeds up... so go to class... or you'll be lost.

This is my 3rd time taking Math 840. Mrs. Liu, it's EASY. A few students complain that she teaches directly from the book, but this is her effective teaching style. All homework is online (VERY EASY) and all your quizzes are online. You get to retake a quiz up to 4 times. Very lenient and gives extensions frequently. I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED HER.

Lecture extremely boring, but if you dun want to read teh book she is the teacher to take. You have to do homework, and exam are generally hard but index card were allowed. The class is design to pass you if u looking to learn or just pass take her and for all you chinese she explain some part of the lecture in Chinese. very helpful definite take.

One fo the best math teachers. Very clear on the lectures and is very nice. Homework is done inline and the quizzes were easy as well as the tests. You don't need the book just the online book to log in. Ms. Liu is the best and would take this teacher again if I could. Very easy to understand.

Ms.Liu is a pretty easy teacher. Her lectures are really clear and is like the homework online. As long as you do the homework you will do well in this class.

this course is relatively easy and she gives lots of example in her lecture. it may be a bit boring to just sit there and listen to her for an hour everyday, but it's all good. tests are based on hw, which is mandatory. every test counts. not much extra credit. she's very nice and helpful. she answers questions with patience.

Ms. Liu is such a great teacher. At first i was iffy about taking her class. Then she turned out to be great. She extends hw dates, if the class does not understand the material she will go over it until the class understands. Attendance is not mandatory but if you dnt show up to class you wont understnad homework.

Ms.Lui is such a sweet teacher. She teaches math in a good pace, and extends the homework if the whole class agrees to it. YOU DONT NEED THE BOOK!! Homework, quiz is all ONLINE. You'll pay about 85 bucks for the online course. TEST is in class. She is really really good teacher. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MS.LUI if you want a good grade.

Took her fast paced math 40 (pre-algebra) course. Don't really need the book but the only pass for hwks do cost around $85. Ms.Liu is very helpful but does expect you to show up and do your studying. Especially in the fast paced courses. I'm taking her again for math 60 so that should explain a lot.

Very helpful and sweet. She's extremely approachable and always asks during lecture if everyone understands the things discussed in class. I took math 40 with her and now I'm in her math 60 class so that should explain how I feel about her teaching methods.

Hard tests but shes clear on the materials. Need to attend class, it's an easy 10%. She also counts hw and it's collected every Monday and can't turn in late. Hw is another easy 15%. She doesnt drop lowest test. Overall, pretty good at explaining but hard test.

I had Ms. Liu for Math 60 as well. She's a very nice person and happy to help. Her accent can sometimes make her explanations hard to understand, but she's generally clear. Homework is mandatory and it's a good idea to put in effort because the examples from the book tend to be harder than the ones she gives in lecture, and will appear on exams.

Ms. Liu is very generous with extra credit for struggling students. She explains everything very clearly and is willing to help anyone that is struggling. She is a great teacher and she totally changed the way that I looked at math!

Nice and Easy teacher. She's very fun sometime. she takes attendance everydays. If you miss 5days in a roll, you will get 1% off on your final grade. you have HW mostly everydays. HW sometime 5-10 questions, sometime 15-30 questions. I missed 15days and 22 HWs and still got a B, so I definitely recommended her.

Homework almost everyday and only five quizzes. easy grader and tests. pretty understandable accent and gives out Chinese definitions. But she seems little annoyed if you ask her questions that are discussed in class. Attendance is required better to be really really on time too. Overall,good and recommended class.

We had 3 tests and the final. The tests were a little tough but she is such a lenient grader. She provides many opportunities for extra credit. Go to class everyday and do your homework, they really help boost your grade.

You'll have daily homework, but it's math - that's expected. She writes her lecture notes beforehand, so she's guaranteed to cover the appropriate material for the test and her explanations make a lot of sense. She seems to care about the class and likes it when people participate. She offers some extra credit opportunities. I took her for 110B.

This Professor is probably the best math teacher I've ever had! She gives a lot of opportunities to earn extra credit, lots of homework (online) but that is how I leaned to solve problems quickly. Take her if you want to learn math. Is an easy A if you attend a class and do HW

I really wanted A so bad :(. I guess B is okay, but A would've been better :(. Lots of HW and attendance is taken everyday. Her exams are pretty tough, she drops the first exam if the rest are higher. She does give extra credit, but make sure you study hard because some problems on her exam are very hard, few are not so hard. Good Luck!

Ms. Liu is a solid lecturer and provides a lot of tricks to break down complex integrals and mnemonics for learning methods and operations. That being said, a huge chunk of the class disappeared over the course of the semester. Calc 2 is a lot more technical than Calc 1, so be prepared to be work for your A.

Professor Liu is so sweet! She is very nice and will often ask the class if she if going too fast or slow, and likes it when you are on time. Tests are much like the examples she gives in class and in hw, no surprises or anything of that sort. Very intelligent and knows what she's doing!

Professor Liu made online learning very enjoyable. She is one of the most caring professors I have met. She is very understanding and made the switch to online learning as smooth and accessible as possible. There was a textbook paired with an online access code, but I found that I never really used the textbook. I recommend just buying the code.

prof. Liu is one of the nicest teachers Ive had. During my time with her she suffered a terrible loss(still sending my condolences) and she was still there for her students. She has great communication, very helpful, and gives all the tools needed to succeed.

Class is just starting. Uses webassign and assigns all HW and most tests over there, where each question can be retaken 4x for HW, less times for tests/quizzes. Has given 2-3 extra credit points already. Attendance checked at start of class. Lectures are her going through the chapter of book. Webassign has walkthrough videos to help solve problems.

I find her kind of motherly. She's not too assertive and is flexible to students needs. Gives opportunities for extra credit. Tests are timed and online and often I only have about 5 minutes to spare when I submit them

She's very sweet! She will give you all the opportunities to pass and even get an A. She holds office hours and makes videos (some really creative and funny). She also likes inserting Chinese spellings in her lectures. She's soft-spoken but the room was at MUB so I heard her clearly. You will be comfortable in her class.

This is a great professor but there are so many tests you have to take. With all the homework on Webassign, multiple quizzes every week, discussion posts, attending class and always having to study for tests which are every other week- the class takes up a very large amount of your time. There is too much pressure with all the exams.

Professor Renee is pretty nice and that is the best amazing math professor that I met. During the class time, I almost participated on answered the class question everyday and I pretty enjoy the time that stick with Ms. Renee.

In our semester somebody reported her dog Oliver and I think that really upset her. That and a test issue w/ 2 students sort of created a situation where I don't think she wanted to do the class any favors. If you have an issue with dogs in the classroom, don't take the class. DO NOT REPORT THE DOG.

Online course, she is fairly tech savvy. Lots of webassign hw. Forced to watch the lectures because there is a quiz at the end of each one. Expect about 10+ assignments each week. Lectures are good tho, and canvas is well organized. Well paced and I'm sure she is very nice, but I've never met her.
