She made a class a lot of fun, considering it was on health and disease. There wasn't a lot of homework and we always got out of class early! The tests weren't bad and she even let us know before she gave us a "pop" quiz! I would highly recommend her.
i liked her. very nice and very helpful. she understands that this stuff is hard but she does a good job explaining it
i recommend her. the class is fairly easy, especially if you already know some science & health. there wasn't much homework, and pretty much everything is done in groups. she tries to make things fun, and she's nice & makes it easy to understand.
I recommend her!! She is super nice and very peppy. We always got out of class early. Her exams are a little hard but always let us do the short answer part before the exam which helped a lot. She helps you if you ask and makes the class fun.
such an awesome teacher! she is so upbeat and positive. Defiantly recommend her.
She is very fun. This was probably my favorite class. She has lots of group work and you never have homework, but you still learn a lot. The exams are easy and she relates to everyone. She is always making us laugh. TAKE HER!
She has an awesome attitude! She's always tryin to make us laugh....shes gets phone calls on her cellphone during class *!!LOL!!* Easy assignments and group projects. Don't skip her class though...it can hurt. She's very sexy! She's pretty HOT....so take HER!!! ;D
Renee is the greatest. She was all about having fun in class and her enthusiasm for the subject really shines through. She wants you to do your best and grades fairly easy! Definitely an awesome, funny lady who is worth getting to know!
IF YOU HATE GROUP WORK, take HPR instead. Lots of projects, stupid case studies, and dumb group stuff. She is a really picky grader, & she pickes favorites like no other. It's really frustrating. I guess if you're her fave, it's ok, but for those who aren't, you may not be treated as well as the freakin superstars in class. No final exam, though.
shes a good teacher, really fun, and usually makes class interesting. sometimes her power points can get a little long and boring. the class is all about group work. (my group screwed me over though). our last test we took together as a class and everyone got a 100. no final!! i liked her and i recommend her.
do not take the class if you dont like group work.. stupid case studies and pointless projects..always get out early which is a plus but powerpoints are long and boring..first exam was easy, next two very hard...no final though.. one last thing she does pick favorites and is NOT hot at all whoever said that should be killed
I would recommend her to anyone who has to take BIO103. She is super nice and always cracks jokes. Her tests are just like the practice exams she posts on D2L. Also, the notes are all on D2L, so you only have to print the off and go to class. Good teacher, willing to help if you need it
Fantastic Professor; Very willing to help, and definately is energetic, loves to get class involved in lectures; She gives 5-point quizes online, that are very easy if you just do the reading beforehand. She and Dr. Cooper work together on lecture and test, so they have a very similar style. Tests are relatively easy, as well, so long as you study.
Redman is amazing! She is very clear when she is teaching and if she doesn't get through the material in time to do an assignment, she will extend the due date. She is extremely flexible with her schedule and make up tests also. She is willing to help anytime and she knows what shes talking about. I would recommend her to anyone!
its straight.
Professor Redman is AMAZING!!! I would highly recommend anyone who has to take Biology 105 to take her. Her quizes are helpful and pretty much spells out what will be on her multiple choice tests. She is really good at explaining what she expects her students to know. Overall if you want to do well in 105, take Redman!
*Try to take Dr. Redman's BIO lecture.* She tries to make the material fun and interesting. She relates to the students well and encourages questions and comments. Pushes back tests to allow more time to study.
Go to Class to do well! SHe is the best
She makes class fun and interesting, and while she can speak fast sometimes, is willing to slow down and explain a different way if asked. Covers the material in full that will be on the test, and is extremely flexible with exam dates. Overall a great teacher!
Shes a pretty fun professor. She will take the time to help you out and covers the material fully. Her tests aren't that hard if you've read the book and gone to class. She won't throw any curveballs on the test.
The one bad thing to say is she talks too fast to take notes, so print them offline so you don't miss everything. Her tests aren't too bad, she tells you what to study. Her projects are lame but easy points and she helps you if you need it. The final was easy, as long as you read the notes. I highly recommend taking her class if you can.
Decent prof. Understands that being in 103, you really dont care for biology much, so she doesnt go too in depth, but sometimes the class almost seemed too easy then. Very helpful if you have questions
She is a very laid back professor. Makes lecture fun!
If you have to take BIO 103 or 105, take it with Redman. She explains things more than once, which helps the concepts sink in a little better. Tests are fairly straightforward, but you need to read the questions completely! Attend class, read the book, and work hard in lab to get an 'A'.
She is amazing, if you have to take a biology course take hers!
She's a fun teacher & is very clear. Just print off notes for class cuz she does talk really fast. If you know the notes/slides, you'll do fine on the test. Loved her for a teacher!
I highly dislike her, she doesn't want to be there and at the end she gives out points depending on how she liked you or not. I do not recommend to people who actually care about cell biology. She is very selfish and only cares about how she is feeling and no one else. I wish I would have taken someone else, you barely learn anything from her.
I loved her! I hate science, but I actually enjoyed her class. She was funny, nice, and made class interesting. She goes fast through lecture, but if you stop her to ask questions she's happy to help. I didn't use the text, except when I didn't understand a concept. Attendance isn't mandatory, but go if you don't understand bio because she's great!
She was hilarious! Only the material she has on her slides is on the exams. The first few exams are not difficult, but the final was a beast. She can give you attendance points, so make sure you go there with your clicker every lecture. Extremely nice and helpful. She made biology tolerable all semester! Definitely take Redman if you can.
Great professor. She takes an otherwise boring class and makes it interesting. Knows how to keep the class engaged and has a great sense of humor. She does talk pretty fast, I recommend recording her lectures; it helped me a lot. She actually makes you want to be there.
Redman is very understanding. She knows that this class is a general and we aren't going to become bio majors but she still takes time to explain but keeps it interesting. Her tests are based off of her slides which makes the tests much easier. She also gives you an optional practice test before each exam if you want some extra practice.
TAKE HER! She's such a fun teacher and makes biology interesting. she really cares about her students succeeding and is hilarious to listen to.
She's an awesome teacher! I hate bio but shes so fun and makes class interesting! She loves to joke around and talk about her family and relates things to us! Definitely recommend her for a teacher!
I never have liked bio, but she actually made the class interesting.
an easy grader and can often be persuaded to give you points back on tests if you argue enough. However, didn't cover nearly as much material as we should have
She is amazing!
TAKE her! She makes biology fun and lively. Uses clicker questions so you can test your knowledge while going through the powerpoint. Anytime you need help she is willing to help you out. Tests are VERY fair, EVERYTHING on the test was covered during lecture so no made up stuff. Go to class and you should pass!
Redman was really enthusiastic about Bio. I always felt really ready for the tests with minimal studying. The multiple choice questions can be tricky though so just make sure you read them carefully. Very nice and energetic.
She is incredibly clear and is easy to learn from. I usually have a hard time picking up information but she presents the information in an easy to understand and clearly structured way and keeps it interesting. She is also just a pleasant person. I would definitely recommend Dr. Renee Redman.
Dr. Redman is such a sweet lady. She is very clear with lectures and uses lots of examples that are easier to understand harder concepts. She really cares about her students. TAKE HER!
She is absolutely WONDERFUL! I would suggest taking her if you can. She's very helpful and explains things very clearly. The tests aren't that hard and there is barely any homework.
Dr. Redman is the best! She's always clear about concepts and what will be on the test and is always willing to answer any questions. Tests require a lot of studying prior to, but keep in mind Biology is a hard subject. Overall, great teacher!!
She is a good teacher but is not very approachable. She seemed very condescending upon asking questions during her office hours.
Dr. Redman is great. She is extremely helpful and I was never afraid to ask questions. She definitely goes out of her way to help students succeed. Once I emailed her a question and she ended up calling me at 8pm that night to explain it to me and ended up chatting with me about her life, it was odd but funny. I'd recommend her for anything.
Redman is super helpful. she's willing to go over information twice. She makes class entertaining, lectures are not boring. Iclicker participation points, so mandatory attendance. I took AP Bio so this class was beyond easy
redman helps the class out. slows down if you ask. hard class. only like 5 As given out total. gotta study hard to do well
Really awesome professor. Take this with her if you can. Makes her lectures interesting. She's on your side 100% and wants you to do well in the class. There is a lot of material, which is true no matter who you take it with, but she gives such good test prep and makes sure you know what the important concepts for the tests are.
Dr. Redman is the best Bio 105 teacher on campus. She will do everything she can to keep you interested in her lectures. She is very funny. She is also there to help. She went out of her way to help students a lot through the semester. The test material comes straight from the powerpoints she gives you. Study hard and you will do fine.
Dr. Redman is an incredibly nice and caring professor. Having enjoyed BIO before hand, this was even better. She makes lectures enjoyable and is willing to help you the second you need it. She tends to help out on exams too! I definitely recommend taking her for gen bio!!
Take her for BIO105 and you will not regret it! She is an awesome professor who makes lectures bearable with her sense of humor and interesting powerpoint slides. If you study for her tests with the stuff she says in class you'll get an A. She gives several extra credit points for just participating in activities in class. Highly recommend!
She really wants to see her students succeed!
Loved this class! Redman made Bio 105 extremely fun. She is very generous and wants you to succeed. She is always more than willing to help you out. Ask questions! She loves that. Quizzes are a bit tricky at times. Tests were iffy, but study hard or they will be terrible! Excellent professor.
A great professor, although the class content itself is somewhat difficult, if you reach out to her she will do whatever she can to help you. She is very understanding and does a very good job of teaching the material that is comprehendible to a college student. And she is an absolute riot almost every class.
She's a great professor. Keeps you awake for sure! Uses powerpoints and verbal lectures, but posts the ppts online. She let's you review old exams during office hours and works hard to help you feel comfortable with the material. Though the material can be difficult, she makes class as easy and understandable as possible.
Dr. R is super awesome!! She totally gets that college students have a life outside of school, but yet expects you to do the work in order to get the grade you want. She's always open to help students if they are confused. She gives a lot of review material before tests, and all around makes this terrible class bearable! Highly highly recommend her
Redman is a total sweetheart, and she made me feel like my mom was teaching the class. Biology 105 sucks, but she made it bearable. She is so bubbly and happy, and she really goes out of her way to make sure you are doing okay in her class. She will love you if you go to class everyday and participate. Would definitely recommend, she is awesome.
Dr. Redman repeatedly went out of her way to help her students understand this tough material. Even the night before an exam she took time to have an open online chat (only because she couldn't meet with us in person) to go over any questions we had. Very funny and energetic during lectures, participate!! and you can get chances for extra credit
She was very energetic, clearly knowledgeable, and overall a pretty awesome professor. But it's her way or the highway and she can sometimes rub you the wrong way.
She does a very nice job explaining everything in depth so that the whole class understands. Overall, she is an awesome professor and person. I would definitely recommend her!
Renee does a great job of preparing you for the test through lectures. Her lectures keep you interested and we're very helpful for me. She's very nice and just asks that the class participate and answer her questions. Overall, an easy A, the only thing that brought down my grade was the Lab portion of BIO 105.
Dr. R is a nice caring person, but her class can be boring if you're not interested in Bio. However from what I've heard from friends, I'd take Dr. R any day of the people they had. Put in the work and you can get a good grade.
Very interesting lectures, super approachable and kind. She has in class problems to check for attendance but you don't need to go to lectures everyday if you're good at bio. 3 regular exams and then 1 150 point final exam. Really easy group projects that boost grade! would definitely recommend
Dr. Redman is a great lab instructor. She gives you hints as to what questions would be on the exam and even sets up practice lab exams. If you ask her a question she is able to answer it right away. She is super helpful when trying to remember the material. This class you definitely need to do a lot of studying on your own but she is worth taking
She comes off as intimidating, but I think she does genuinely care that her students do well. Shes funny and tells you everything that is going to be on the exam. There were a couple group projects that had unclear expectations, but my group got an A for both projects. She made the class pretty easy for me.
She's an amazing teacher who really cares about her students. The class was really easy, you pretty much just had to study off of the powerpoint and you'd be golden for the tests. They were never really hard, and she said she didn't give out much extra credit but by the end of the semester if you try in class you can get some good extra points.
There are reef polling questions during every lecture for attendance, so if you skip be sure to do those during the class. There are multiple in class problems that you turn in for credit. There were four exams including the final. Overall, the class is alright if you study and take the notes. There are d2l quizzes on the material as well.
Dr. Redman is a great lab professor. She is extremely clear about what she expects you to know for practicals, and sets you up to succeed in lab. She makes sure you have plenty of time to look at the cadavers and models during lab. Definitely one of the best professors I've had.
Dr. Redman acts like a mom to everyone, really cares about her students and wants everyone to pass. She does clicker questions every class and those go towards your final grade so make sure you show up to class. She also does in-class assignments that you won't be able to make up without a good excuse.
Very clear on what you need to know on exams angives hints in her pre-lab slides. Utilize her and her cadaver helpers to know what to study for. Had to put in a lot of time before exams due to the huge amount of material the tests require you to know. Sets up practice exams the week before. She's a joy to be around and is very helpful!!!
Dr. Redman goes very fast in lecture and it can be very hard to keep up with. She is a very nice person, and very helpful. The downside of the class is that there are no study guides and a lot of times the "study guides" she gave us didn't have a lot of the material on the actual exam.
Dr. Redman made a tough class like Cell Bio bearable and interesting. She really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. I had the slight misfortune of being in a lecture that consisted of mostly students who understood the material better than I did, so there were not many extra credit opportunities which would have been beneficial.
Dr. Redmen is an amazing bio 105 professor! I highly recommend!
Take Renee if you can! She is sooooooo sweet and knowledgable about bio. Love her!
I had her for BIO 105 and I did take AP Bio in high school so I had prior knowledge of the subjects. Even though I took AP Bio I still had to study and attend all the classes and still only will end up with a B. Biology in general is hard. Redman has amazing lectures, is always willing to help her students, and really wants her students to pass.
If you have a chance, take her for BIO 105! Even though I took AP Bio in high school, she is awesome at explaining things in her lecture and sometime it is fun enough to stay focused. My advice is read through the textbook if you are struggling, although it is not mandatory.
Redman has a lot of in-class problems which are easy points, but you have to go to class. She makes a hard course like Cell Biology bearable and claims she is the easy professor, which is probably true. She moves really fast through lectures but is clear about what's important to know. She's fun and cares about her students. I would recommend her!
I took bio105 last fall and Dr. Redman was so caring and really great at lectures. she posts slides the day before, which is nice because I can focus on what she is saying instead of scribbling slide notes. lets us correct our tests for half credit. understood students that struggled and really tried to help and make accommodations for them.
As an incoming freshman, Dr. Redman is the professor I needed. She not only is passionate about her job and her students, but goes above and beyond to aid in your learning. Some professors aren't mean't to teach, but Dr. Redman definitely is. Whether you like bio or not, you will grow a lot of respect for it during your time in her class.
Professor Redman works hard to make things as clear as she can, but the material can still be tough to learn. When I ask her questions, I feel like she thinks I am stupid which makes me scared to ask more questions. She isn't great at accepting feedback from students unless you tell her something she wants to hear. Exams are tough.
She has been my favorite professor I have had so far. She understands that when a class does poorly on a test, it is a reflection on both the student AND the professor, and has given us chances to earn points back this semester. She really wants you to understand the material, and just makes me comfortable learning and asking for help.
As someone who hates Biology, Redman is truly a professor you would want to take. She truly cares about student's feedback and their success! Had online with Dr. Redman and she truly worked hard to make it work and always provided extra credit. Based off 4 exams (1 being a final) and 2 group assignments, lab and homework every so often...
Redman is a great person, but was difficult as a professor as a college freshman navigating in a pandemic. Biology was okay for me, but don't expect phenomenal grades back on tests. Her average tests scores for tests was 52-75%. Read your book, ask questions. She reads off the slides for lectures so they become a tad dry.
She is the best professor I've ever had. She really loves teaching and wants her students to do well. She is so nice and you can tell that she's here to help you. She tries her best to make sure everyone understands the information. I wish she taught more classes because I would take her for all my bio courses.
Dr. Redman is a super nice and caring person. However, she was not the best lecture teacher. She read right off the slides and goes pretty quick. She doesn't give good feedback on work. There are two group projects, there is some extra credit once in a while which is super nice. However, the test averages were always right around 70% for my class.
Dr. Redman cares about her students, and does mid class surveys, but does not seem to apply those critiques. Her lectures are very long, heavy and intense. She goes quite fast and it can be hard to follow along. A lot of out of class work (more than my other 300 class) to understand the material.
Dr. Redman is the best. Her office hours are great to ask clarifying questions. 313 labs are a lot of brute memorization, but Dr. Redman has a lot of great tips to make huge term lists manageable. She is very good at what she does!
Redman is amazing! She explains everything really thoroughly, and if you do bad on a test, she will create assignments to get the points back. She is the best professor at UWL and extremely knowledgeable! Super easy going.
I liked Dr. Redman a lot as a person but not so much as a professor. All the tests were pretty difficult for the multiple choice section. For the final she also said if you have/get covid or sick you get a 0 on the exam. She did not accomodate to students needs and that seems unprofessional to me.
Dr. Redman is probably the best lecture prof that you will get. She is extremely knowledgeable and also sarcastic. The class doesnt have any homework, and isnt hard if you study a little bit. She isnt the most accommodating, she said for ppl who have covid during the final they get a 0, but can take it after break. overall tho very good!
Renee doesnt curve her grades. She talks at the speed of light and never slows down. She also doesnt record her lectures even during covid. There is a 5 point quiz every week & strict hw dates. There is a ton of material covered to the point where you should probably study every day and even then you might now do that good bc the concepts arehard
Dr. Redman is very intelligent and cares for her students. She is very active in lab which other professors are not. She is very willing to help but A&P lab is a lot information regardless of who you take, but I would definitely recommend her.
Cell is hard no matter the prof but Dr. R lectures so fast and got frustrated when the class wasn't doing as well as she hoped. We have in-class assignments but you're given all the answers and they're only worth 3 pts. Exams are taken with IF-ATs which was super stressful for some students. Often condescending when students spoke up.
Cell biology is a lot to handle, but with Dr. Redman it is definitely doable. The in class problem sets and practice exams are everything you need to crush her actual exams. Keep up in class and ask questions, the grade will come naturally.
Show up to class and pay attention and you will pass. This lady is full of energy and has so much experience, there is nothing in the lab she can't help you with/explain. She makes lab feel so welcoming and like we're all learning as a team. Some biology professors are so uptight, and Redman puts them to shame with her brains and humor.
Redman is amazing! Bio 105 can vary in difficulty depending on how much science you took in high school. That being said, she makes sure to go through lecture with the goal of everyone understanding and will stop to explain things more in depth if you go back. She's very personable and understanding. You'll need to study outside of class.
She was a great professor and I would 100% recommend. She had great notes and resources to help study for the exam. She is not mean and will make you laugh. Participate because then you'll get extra credit cards!!
She was a great professor who had clear notes. She had many resources to help study for the exam. she occasionally makes you laugh, she's super nice, and make sure to participate because she will give extra credit!!
Redman for FYS was amazing! She was always trying to engage our class to share our thoughts about our topic. She was always checking in with us to see how we were doing and gave very good advice. Honestly, just show up for the class and participate and you'll be fine. Don't be like my class and barely talk or respond; be engaging. She LOVES that!
Such a great teacher. She really wants to make sure that her students do well. Would recommend.
Renee makes every lecture entertaining and I would take another class of hers. She really cares about her students. She does a lot of in class problems so it is best to go to class. There is a lot of information covered in the course but she always makes room for a review day before each exam so you have an idea of whats going to be on it.
Professor Redman was by far my favorite professor this semester. There are a lot in class problems so make sure you attend class to receive those easy extra points. She makes lectures very enjoyable to go to. She has a review day before exams to make sure everyone knows what will be on the exams. Highly recommend taking her if you can!
I love Dr. Redman. By far the best teacher I had this semester. Im not the best at biology, but my friends who had her and were in my class were very successful in her class. There is a lot of info in the lectures, but she does make sure her students understand it. You get what you put into the class. I would definitely take her for again!
Dr. Redman's Biotechnology informatics class was actually very interesting. I didn't get the FYS I wanted, but I ended up loving this class because of her. Super easy, only 3 short simple quizzes and a group project as your final and there was barely anything to do outside of class. Would highly recommend taking her and this class!
Professor Redman was a professor that I thoroughly enjoyed going to her lectures. She understands that not everyone has the same learning styles and she acts upon that. We had everything explained well and she is happy to explain it clearer after class. Without a doubt, I will take her classes again in the future.
Redmann tried to keep her content relatable when understanding difficult concepts. Offered corrections when exam didn't go well for most of her sections but study a lot. Reading the textbook really helped to solidify content because sometimes she flies through it. Offered SI with a TA which was super helpful.
She was so lively, made the morning class less painful. Genuinely good at teaching and offers lots of opportunities to students.
Easily the best BIO 105 professor. She actually cares about you and enjoys teaching. She offers SI, do this if you think you're struggling. She's a fair grader. There's two group projects, three exams, 2-3 homework assignments and a quiz for every chapter/main idea totalling ~10. Great feedback on group projects and HW. TAKE REDMAN
Professor Redman is super knowledgeable and fun to talk to. She makes and effort and tries to be aware of how she can be the best professor she can for students. She is laid back and adjusts class plans/assignments as needed. Just be respectful and communicate when need be and it'll be a good experience.
If you participate in class, she gives you extra credit! Funny, worth the 7:45 am class. She really gets down to the deep parts of bio that you need to know. And shes so sweet.
Awesome professor, you will learn and have fun.
Very energetic and thorough lectures. Take her!
One of my favorite professors here at UWL. Super nice almost was like a mom to our class. Was very knowledgeable about Biology and made our FYS class so much fun for us science kids. Would highly recommend.
Favorite professor I have had, even though I only had the course once a week. I always struggled with lab in the past, but her explanations and tips were clear and helpful. She cared about every person and made class enjoyable. Stay the whole lab period to make the most out of your experience.
Professor Redman is super nice and always offers help if needed. her lectures are easy to understand. She posts exam reviews and all her lecture slides on canvas, there is a lot of content but there are quizzes she posts that can be taken multiple times in order to get full points. 100% recommend
Professor Redman was great for Bio 105! I was in her 7:45am class and she explained the concepts in a way that made it make sense. She also used several real world examples to help explain concepts that really helped me understand. She is a very caring professor and I would recommend.
I went to her office hours and she was not very nice. She also goes really fast and the class average for the exams were in the 70s.
Exams make or break your grade. Do not be fooled by the first exam, it's supposed to be easy. Study harder for the next three or you are in for a world of hurt.
Structured but amazing prof. Go to office hours and get in depth explanations. Highly recommend!
She is one of the best professors in the Bio department. She makes her lectures as simple as possible and is always available to contact outside of class. Her tests are very difficult but I do feel like they helped me learn a lot and if you study a lot you'll do just fine. Definitely my favorite Bio prof here.
She's not the worst professor, but not the greatest either. Her exams are way more difficult than they should be and also doesn't realize that we have many other classes that are just as difficult. Expect to be studying 24/7 if you take her class. Also did not appreciate having a 4th exam and then the final exam a week later.
Great professor she really cares about her students. Gives great lectures and goes above and beyond for her students. Is willing to work around any conflicts with you, Great person.
Dr. Redman is the best bio professor out of them all. She is very caring and funny but extremely knowledgeable and has easy-to-understand and fun lectures.
LOVE REDMAN! Her lectures are very informative and have good content. She makes very good examples, some of which I still remember today. Her exams are very straightforward, with minimal "application" questions. TAKE HER!
She is a great professor and her way of grading makes it easy to succeed in the class.
I don't have enough good things to say about Redman. Take her class!! She is so incredibly kind and cares for all her students. BIO105 can be hard but she wants to do everything to help you pass. She knows her stuff and is great at teaching/explaining. Weekly canvas quizzes, 4 exams, random in-class assignments, and 2 group projects. She's amazing!
Funny, but mean when in office hours. Tests were average if you study hard. Goes very fast in lecture.
I LOVE REDMAN!!! She is so kind and wants everyone to do well in her class. She knows that BIO 105 is a hard class, but she provides so much practice opportunities. She is so knowledgeable and does such a good job explaining everything. She truly is amazing!
BEST BIOLOGY PROFESSOR!!!! If you have the option to take her class do it! Her lectures are very informative. The tests are all multiple choice and no short answer questions. Personally the tests were 10 times easier than AP biology. She has plenty of opportunities to get help within the class. 100% would take this class again!
I adore Dr. Redman! She was such a caring professor and made her lectures super engaging. She made sure that our class knew what was on the exams and gave practice problems and tests for them. I could ask her any question without judgement, and she records her lectures. As long as you are present in class and do the homework, you will do fine.
The lectures were informative and straight to the point. In-class problems are used at least once a week. Technically attendance isn't mandatory but highly encouraged. Tough material but Dr. Redman was able to explain it in a way that made sense. Also gives review sheets before the exams so thats super helpful!
Fun lectures. She cares about her students and gives clear instructions and paths to success. Not to mention brings snacks to class. Top professor at UWL.
Dr. Redman was such a personable professor! She is super funny and genuinely cares about every student's success. Her lectures were explained very well, and I enjoyed attending them. Exams are heavily based on learning objectives and are easy to study for. She was my favorite professor this semester :)
Easiest FYS class ever. Met one time a week for 2 hours. Final project was given 6 weeks in advance and only took 3 hours to do. Ended the class 3 weeks early.
She is an amazing professor who puts effort into making biology easy to understand and entertaining. Even though the material is more difficult, there are many opportunities for help and the exams are all MCQ with many other assignments to balance out the grade.
Professor Redman is great - her engaging lectures and use of real-world examples make the material click. For study prep, Unstuck ai and the free textbook were super helpful alongside her regular office hours.
Bio is hard, but I believe Redman is the best bio 105 prof. She makes things straightforward and easy to succeed in if you try. The exams could be tricky if you did not study. I studied about 5-10 hours for them and my highest score was a 94 and lowest was a 84. I 100% recommend.
Her lectures were fairly entertaining. She would often crack jokes in class and would have in class problems to help you learn the material better. If you got o SI you should do good in the class. Make sure to do the group projects and reach out to her if you need any help.
I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Redman. She continously shows care for her students and wants you to succeed in her class. The first exam is incredibly easy and the rest of the exams are easy as well if you put in the work. You should begin studying about a week before the exam and great success will follow. All exams are MC!
Redman was great, her lectures were interesting and she really tried to get the class engaging with her and with each other. She likes to do a couple of group projects but they're generally pretty easy and more about connecting with classmates. She's great during office hours and loves to talk to students who show up.
I loved Renee Redman as a bio instructor. She prepared us very well for exams and only covered topics that were relevant to the exams. The was a few group projects that were not too bad. I believe she genuinely cares about her students, and I will definitely take her again for cell biology.
This class was lots of stuff I knew from high school science classes. Her lectures were good and she does lots of practice in class and gives participation points. Attendance is not mandatory and she records lectures but you can miss out on in class points. Her exams were all multiple choice and all information that was covered in lecture.
Redman is a very good professor. She makes sure all of her lectures are relevant and entertaining. She is also very caring and willing to work with you to make exams/quizzes up if you are going through something. I highly recommend her!
Redman is one of the best professors here at UWL. Cell isn't easy, no matter who you take it with but she does her best to help students, and gives you ungraded practice exams before the exam. She is the funniest professor at UWL, and her lectures feel really engaging. She is sarcastic, which is why some ppl here say shes mean, definitely take her!
She didn't do much other than read exactly what was on the slide. Wouldn't go into any further detail but would ask questions on the tests that were more in depth than what she would lecture on. Almost everything that was graded was either a test or an in class quiz. Make sure you go to class because there is in class quizzes almost every day.
She is amazing and her lectures are clear and organized! All her exams were multiple choice which I loved!!
She truly understands the students and how much we are doing outside the class. Never went the full time during class and was always giving work time in class for the project she gave weeks ahead of time. I would definitely recommend.
take her for whatever the fys topic is. it doesnt matter, easy A and even better person
Take her for fys whatever the topic is. She understood we had lots of work from other classes and never made us do any homework. Only took two quizzes and did a group project, the rest was easy in class stuff. She genuinely cares about her students and wants you to do well. Amazing professor!
She is great and awesome. I do recommend doing extra optional learning activities and reading the textbook.
Amazing professor. She is very knowledgeable and real with students. She's always willing to help student. She's great student hours plus is VERY willing to schedule time outside of her office hours. She makes extra times on exams and gives a loose study guide that helps incredibly .
She is the best!!!! Exams were pretty easy if you study just a little bit. She really cares for her students and wants us to succeed. Her exams were very fair and she was not trying to trick you like most professors. If you can, TAKE HER!
I think she is a very good teacher and explains thing very well. This class is kind of difficult so having a good teacher makes a huge difference. I recommend 100%!
She was very into what she was teaching!! Super nice, and tests were pretty easy. Explained things well. I would definitely take again.
She is amazing. Great introductory course, especially for freshmen. It is clear what she excpects of you and gives great study guides. Take her if at all possible.
I loved her for BIO105! She was my favorite professor all semester. I would 100% take her again, but sadly, she is retiring after this year :(
Interesting lectures, homework that actually helps, and tests are all multiple choice. Class has a lot of content and she does a great job of getting it all across. 2 Group projects are a little inconvenient but don't really affect your grade if you do just ok on them. Occasional in class problems that are sorta like attendance checks.
Dr Redman is great! She knows her stuff. You truly get what you put into the class, you cannot cut corners in the class unless you want a D. Overall very kind person and great lecturer and professor! Take her if you can!!!
Dr. Redman was the best professer I have had at UWL. Her lectures are absolutly amazing and gives clear instruction. There was little room for confusion in her class, exams were also light work.
Good! Class is just lecture, but there's also in class problems, homework assignments, quizzes, and tests. Tests are super fair, whatever is in the lecture WILL be on the test. If you study and pay attention you should pass this class easy. Lab section mandatory and was just random experiments? Maybe just my lab instructor, but it felt unnecessary.
