Is a hard grader. If you dont turn in your paper with the correct heading, title, ect. you get like 20 points taken off your paper

This was the worst teacher I have ever had. She is VERY tough on grading, makes spelling mistakes in her instructions yet tears you apart for them, is unable to work with you or doesn't care to, and does not refuses to reconsider her grading standards. She waits until the semester is ending to give you a 8 paragraph essay on something that she never discussed.She does try and put you down and tell each student something different to do on their assignment.

She is the worst teacher ever, I really believe someone else grades her work and she relies on sites like safe assign to grade her work w/o taking into consideration, it could be wrong. Without a doubt, the most worthless teacher in the history of Triton College. Could care less about the students. Never replied to emails. I sent her 3 emails with questions and she finally replied two weeks later after I had to contact her department head. I would withdraw, flunk out, and become homeless before I took a class with her again. Avoid

I've had bad teachers before, but she is by far the WORST teacher I have ever had in my life and I am not exaggerating. She makes everything so confusing, and is horrible at explaining things. Videos and links never worked most of the time. Also, she has attitude and doesn't care to help her students. HORRIBLE.

From the syllabus to the rude comments to the lack of grading assignments and not being able to or not wanting to correct her mistakes online. I don't recommend this class from the first assignment until the end was a horrific experience. Even if you do all the work on time your grade will not reflect it. She seems lazy and rude.

This was the most frustrating teacher I have ever encountered. I've never complained about a teacher before but I went out of my way to do so about her. I am a student at ISU and needed Children's Lit so I made the mistake of taking it at Triton with this teacher. I'm not sure why she is still working as a teacher. She clearly does not care about anyone other than herself.

Please please please read through the comments listed. Since 2011 everyone has had a negative thing to say about her. She is very unclear, assigns more homework then any full time student with no job, can maintain, and is a difficult grader that believes in "Earning your A." This is 101 and is more like a 501. The amount of work required is ubsurd

I never rate teachers, but I'm going out of my way for this because it's, quite simply, unbelievable. The instructions are vauge at best. I emailed 2 times and never heard back. I tried calling. I finally decided to track down her office. She was rude, defensive and belittling; being the intellectual superior she so clearly is. She was 0 help.

She failed my paper because I did not have thesis when I stayed after class asking her if my thesis was ok and she said "YES, IT'S GREAT." STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS WOMAN!

Very vague assignment descriptions, horribly slow at grading papers, very critical grader, expects you to revise your assignment and rewrite it in HER words. Really adds no value to your educational experience.

I never rated before but I felt the need to. She is painfully unclear and puts you down when asked to clarify. I waited outside her office for an hour seeking help with an appt. and never showed, Not even an email. I then went ahead with the homework with no help and was criticized for poor work. Stay away.

She was never really helpful and reading her assignments alone took work! It was ridiculous. I remember when a student asked for help regarding something on blackboard all she said to him was to click the help button on the upper right corner. I read that and thought..."Are you kidding me?!"

She's terrible just terrible... took her online RHT class and damn she was soooo terrible... super unclear of what she wanted.. hw assignments made no sense....

Dr. Wright is one of the worst English professors I have ever encountered. She is very unclear of how she relays her expectations and when you ask her for help, she will respond in a very condescending and belitting way. You will end up relying on your online tutor that she gives you. Not sure how she got her doctorate...

The class was extremely difficult, as a matter of fact, students who have taken the same class but different professor, didn't have to do as much work. Very unrealistic expectations by the professor.

Disorganized, changes the instructions of the tasks and is not constant with the instructions, ambiguous and incompetent to teach the lessons. This teacher expects students to read 3-4 chapter each week. This teacher traumatizes students, it's a walking nightmare.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Her course organization is a disaster. She makes you jump through useless hoops of making accounts on different websites. How can I turn in rough drafts of my paper for review and she graded them as 100% no comments but when I put them together I get a D-? 43 credits and a 3.7GPA I withdrew to keep it that way.

Her course organization is a MESS! She goes from one topic, and then when you least expect it she's on 3 other topics at once!! She doesn't teach, she instead gives youtube links to learn.

You won't ever get a grade higher than a C on a paper. This is extremely frustrating as you need a C to pass. We started the class with over 20 students and ended with around 8. Lots of homework which I typically don't mind but it really doesn't help with writing papers. Her responses are always very vague. I received way better grades in RHT102.

Dr Wright waited until the final assignment to provide constructive feedback. She graded assignments without explaining the basis for the marks received. Did not respond quickly to feedback. I do not recommend this class or this professor to anyone. It was harder to stay afloat in this class than in classes with tougher subject material.

Dr. Wrights attitude often seems like she does not care about her struggling students. The sad part is that most of her students are struggling. She makes her assignments difficult to understand and no matter how hard we try to comprehend them or no matter how hard we try its never good for her. If you can stay away from her 101 class!

I wish they gave more characters. Long story short, despite several attempts to get a hold of Professor Wright for clarifications on assignments and the minimal feed back I was given, I never received any kind of response, not even a lazy generic check the text book. It was very clear that she does not care, I would no recommend her.

Ms. Wright is the hardest teacher I've ever had and her class made it the hardest to get out of bed. She loves to pick a fight and not explain things to us. She's not much help when you ask for help and have struggled the entire semester to get a good grade. Beware and just don't put yourself through it. :/

Dr. Wright is very unclear with directions and an extremely tough/ unfair grader. I got a C in the class and it is the only C I have ever recieved at Triton. I just barley passed this course, the assignments are incredibly difficult and should not be given to students in an introductory course. Every little detail is checked and I highly suggest going with another teacher. This course was way to difficult even for an experienced writer like myself. Please do yourself a favor and check for another prof.

very condescending and rude. made a huge mistake on my final grade and did not bother to look into it. I had to write a petition and it was finally corrected. don't waste your money on the class if shes the teacher!

So I'm not one to complain much about school, however as far as I've been in school, this professor has been my worst. She expects perfect paragraphs to be done, and no matter what will find something to complain about. Also a major factor is when it comes to all the essays , there is absolutely no creativity at all, your thoughts get locked away.

I think she takes pleasure in seeing students struggle. I have never seen such despicable behavior from a professor. Whenever I asked for help, she responded in a snarky manner and dodged my questions. I go to a top-ranked university and took this as a summer class. I am used to harsh professors who give constructive feedback. She was just useless.

Unusually difficult for an introduction course. I took both RHT 101 and 102 and regretted choosing her as my professor. I STRUGGLED to earn a C and each paper took hours to write in order to find any error yet I still never got a grade higher than a C. I am not being dramatic, I just hope to help those who are considering enrolling.

Unclear with assignments and papers. Even though I followed the rubric and turned my assignments in on time I always got a D. She would claim that my analysis was not specific. However, that does not merit a student a 60%. She made the class unecessarily difficult for an INTRODUCTION course. There is absolutely no reason for her to be so harsh.

Teacher is very difficult. She goes way to much in depth than an intro class should. When ever there was a question asked she never understood the question. All her assignments and instructions are unclear. One time everyone did the assignment wrong and she made us redo the whole thing instead of seeing that it was her explanation that was unclear.

I did not learn anything from her specifically. There was no constructive feedback on the essays that I have submitted throughout the course. The lectures were very unclear and all over the place. She does not treat students with much respect and has an authoritative attitude. The only help that I received came from brainfuse and grammarly.

This professor is ridiculous is expectations, grading and instructions. Both her classes would be so confused and majority get her assignments wrong yet she believed it was our interpretation of the directions as opposed to her actual directions being too detailed and confusing. So much work to do! Youll be writing a 1000+ word essay every week, youll have to revise it 2 days after you submitted it & basically rewrite the whole thing or she will give you no credit!! I took this course in full on e-learning. She lacks clarity in explaining assignments/direction and grades extremely hard. There were many times where I felt insulted asking for help. I would not recommend her.

This class was supposed to be basic reading comprehension, Not read all these useless things that don't even have to do with the module. Dr. Wright has no respect for her students, she bullies and belittles her students for fun. She does not read any of the books or notes that she gives us and simply plagiarized throughout her lectures. Nothing satisfied Dr Wright. Did all assignments and worked hard to only receive a D.,11 points short of a C, which stopped me being able to graduate. In order to get IAI credit your grade must be a C or better. Her responses are rude! Being a B average student this was a huge disappointment should of dropped it.

Rude. Gives very vague instruction with a very condescending attitude. Seems irritated to be asked questions. Also, a heads up if you're taking an online course, she wants your camera on all class, every class.

Do not take her class unless you are also a professor. She will never be satisfied with any work you do. Every assignment will be an anxiety inducing, hair pulling, frustrating ordeal. The first assignment she typed the exact same thing to everyone with whom she was unsatisfied by their work. A curt "you're wrong, do it over or I'll grade this".

Spare yourself the headaches, anxiety, disappointment, time (especially with the ridiculous time consuming discussion boards that are only worth a lousy 10 points) and money! I really wish I would've read the reviews first before committing to this class definitely regret it.

I wouldn't recommend her at all. It was hard to follow along when she was talking especially If you stopped paying attention for half a second. I didn't even bother going to the final because she was a tough grader and I knew there wasn't any hope. One good thing about her was that she graded the assignments and responded to emails pretty quickly.

Wright has been one of the worst teachers I have ever had in my academic career. Her grading scale is way too steep for a FRESHMAN rhetoric class in a COMMUNITY college. Its astonishing how she is still allowed to teach and I don't know anywhere else to complain but here. She admitted to refusing to grade essays is they stray from certain criteria.

I went into this class thinking I would be fine because there was no other teacher teaching this online class and it looked like my only option plus I figured I was good in English so it would be fine. Biggest mistake. Professor Wright expects WAYY TOO much out of students. I dropped the class, this class gave me so many mental breakdowns.

WORST PROFESSOR EVER!!! She is an extremely tough grader who will give you a very low grade even though the tutoring software she uses to submit draft say the essay is good. Her instructions for many of the assignments are worded very poorly and half the time you have to pray for at least a C in the class. AVOID THIS CLASS!!!

Probably the worst professor I have experienced. Drop the class as soon as you can. Transfer out of it. Hardly explains assignments or work or expectations overall. You are left to guess everything by yourself.

25 students started in the course, only 5 students were left at the end, including myself. I followed instructions as best that I could and missed no assignments. When I had questions she would respond saying that the instructions were clear. I messaged classmates for help but they were also confused and stated she had been no help to them either.

This professor is extremely tough with their grading. The assignments are not well explained, especially the essays. It is also very hard to understand basically every assignment she posts. I recommend that you transfer or drop if you can!

I am affiliated with the board of education at Triton and they have been trying to get her to retire for decades. Since she is tenured, there is nothing anyone can do. I even spoke to the dean of the english dept. and he said to just drop the class and the school will give me my money back. Absolutely ridiculous.

This class is harder than organic chemistry or any of my other advanced-level STEM classes.

An awful teacher who does not want to help students grow and improve their writing. She ignores all emails because communication should be done through Blackboard, but then proceeds to ignore that. No constructive criticism. Nitpicks all minor details for assignments but cannot even be bothered to put the correct syllabus for the proper semester.

Save you time and money or drop immediately. Heavy expectations on essays but poor feedback and examples on how to improve. This class was too taxing on my mental health, and I barely managed to raise my grade from a C despite doing all work. She would also raise her voice and make you feel belittled for your work despite it being her job to teach.

posted multiple different and misleading syllabi for the same essay. tried to get feedback in hopes of improving my grade, but was nearly impossible to reach outside of lectures. treated her 102 class terribly, avoid if possible

Please believe all these reviews. I had her as a freshman and it was horrible. There is no reason why a freshman comp. class should be this difficult. Not only was she rude to students but expects you to know how to write like an English major. I did not learn a single thing from her class.

She is just awful! She wants you to use Brainfuse/Writing center but sometimes she doesn't like what they say, WHICH AFFECTS YOU! You turn something into the writing tutors, they tell you something, you do it, and then you get a lower because she didn't think what the tutor said was "good." THEN WHY USE THE TUTORS IN THE FIRST PLACE?!

Didn't plan on leaving a review on her because I felt like it would be a waste of time, but here I am. First of all avoid at all cost. She doesn't know how to clearly explain anything. It is almost like she finds it difficult to be clear with instructions. Her assignments seem to be all over the place. Just get another teacher.

I don't understand how triton college allows her to continue to teach. This is the worse professor any student can have. If you are enrolling late and she's the only English professor left for the semester just wait for the next professor. You will waste your time just to get a F. I would say 90% or the students dropped the course or failed.

Please if you are currently deciding what professor to pick don't pick this one. There were (2) professor in the English department that were horrible her being one of them. The other was AR MCMATH- she finally left. Now wright in the only on left of the duo. You will not pass this class. She will mentally drain you. Run!!!

She went on a pass or fail grading system, and lacked awareness that every student starts somewhere in their writing skills. She posted lots of homework weekly, as if it was a fast track class, which made it very difficult to make time for other classes because of the constant assignments she posted, forgetting students have other classes.

She does not want to see her students succeed. Do not waste you time or money taking her class.

RUN! She's horrible. Almost everyone dropped the class that had her and those that stayed all failed. We heard she would pass most of the class at the end and that's why we stayed. NOT TRUE! AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS. Would give negative stars if I could. Flee!

Gave her and her class the benefit of the doubt, was the worst decision of my life, costing me my grade with doing the majority of her work, trying hard, being in class when I needed to just for her to fail me, and all the other few who were left, when everyone either dropped the class and or stopped showing up and quite frankly I don't blame them.

If you are searching up Wrights RMP review because you deeply regret taking her class but are in too deep to drop the class, hear me out. USE THE SLIDES SHE GIVES YOU AND USE THE TUTORING WEBSITES. It might be time consuming but its your best bet because she is a tough grader.

If you are a student looking forward to attending an English course for your degree, I would highly recommend to not take an English course with this professor. She will stress you out on the first few weeks and make learning difficult because she simply isn't clear. All of my buddies and other classmates dropped out because she isn't the greatest.

This class has been extremely unorganized. The professor makes videos on how to do things and it's so unnecessary. I understand trying to make sure we understand the material but having to use extra sites is not it. I've had peers also express that she's rude when answering emails. My first ever C, usually an A student. Her grading is extremely strict, and despite multiple students raising concerns, it seems nothing has changed. I only took this class because it was required for graduation. Be prepared for a stressful semester, as it often felt like the course was set up for students to struggle rather than succeed.

The semester just started two weeks ago and she already made me feel VERY uncomfortable with asking any questions, she always gives backhanded responses. I'm rating this knob of a prof for my gf. I went to CMU, GRE verbal of 168, writing 4.5/5 (top 98+%), and I edited my girlfriend's essay for this class. I followed the reqs and made a handful of minor issues. My gf got an F on the essay. Prof missed an entire section “-“, and gave 0 w/o explanation on another. This profs feedback was braindead slop

I've never had a professor that says a whole lot of nothing in multiple paragraphs when you ask for help. Messaged many times to express what I already understood in directions, and she proceeded to tell me to reread it and that "I shouldn't understand it the first few times". Why teach if you're not going to be any help and act rude in feedback?

I'm taking the time out my day just to come and warn students again. PLEASE. I'm quite literally begging everyone to save themselves and refrain from taking ANY course with this professor. She's no help and gets smart at the mouth when questions are asked. Me and more than half my class had to drop this class. The remaining failed. SAVE YOURSELF!

Very scattered, contradictory in instructions, unhelpful

More than half of my class dropped it and the remaining were visibly stressed out. The class has way too much room to make a mistake and fail. I got an F on a paper which only had 1 comment on the actual essay and all of the others went into my citations. She told me in the feedback that I "lost most of the points because of improper citations."

She didn't actually teach anything. She gave us a different online program to do completely, and was a very harsh grader with no grace or remorse.

I registered for this class at the last minute, and I ended up completely regretting it within the span of 2 weeks. I ignored the negative reviews and hoped to have a better experience, but I was terribly wrong. Please avoid this class at all costs.

Taking this class was very last minute for me, and after just the first week of her class nearly half the students dropped out. Every day she gives long lectures that are very repetitive and don't answer important questions for the assignments that she gives you. She's a tough grader and I've never seen her give anything higher than a C.

I had no choice and needed to take this course for my plan. I don't think I have ever locked in the way I did for a class before, as failing wasn't an option. I had to lose out on parts of my life and miss out on work for this class, so be warned. If u have a life, drop it. If u have no choice, use the readings, slides, n kiss her ahh to make it.
