I had no interest in journalism prior to this class. But this class makes me interested. Prof. Cohen makes each class interesting and a discussion. She encourages you and doesn't penalize you for having a different opinion. I appreciate the fact she stays way after class to help students when we need it. Highly recommended. Very highly.

She is so hopeful! You can tell she wants you to learn and get a good grade. The subject can be complicated, but she uses engaging examples. Class isn't boring; it's a discussion. Best part: she doesn't give a lot of homework. You will know what is expected in homework and for final. Also, the HW is assigned a week in advance. Take this class!

This class is deceptively easy. If you pay attention, you will be good with your grade. The final was fair. She has open-ended questions, short answers and multiple choice. But you really have to pay attention during lectures or it'll be hard for you. She will help you with your writing. Oh and she brought us candy to class many times. Really nice!

She had guests for us too. She works at the Orange County Register and has done a lot of broadcast production work, so she knows what she is talking about.

Professor Cohen is fantastic. The class is straightforward. I'm not going into journalism, but took it for credit. Just show up, do your best on assignments, and you will do fine. Attendance is a big deal though. She's pretty and funny.

She works in the field in addition to teaching so obviously she's the best bet to go towards if you want to go into journalism. She was really more than fair. I took too many classes this semester and don't want to go into journalism, so this class was not my priority. I thought I was going to get a C, but I ended up with a B. One of the nicest people at Glendale. She also submitted our grades within two days of us taking the final.

I took her class in the Spring. It is one of the best classes I have taken at the CSU or community system. She actually gives you a real sense of an industry that changing. She is so nice, but also wants you to work and cares. And she bought us giant muffins and cookies the day of final. Loved her.

Rory is one of the sweetest professors. She cares about the subject matter and wants you to learn, genuinely caring about students. This class would probably interest communications or journalism majors more than others. She cares about participation though, so make sure you speak up.

This is a good class for general ed even if you don't want to go into journalism or the communications industry. Prof. Cohen is so great and cares about the subject matter. What I like is that she tries to bring the discussions back to the field rather than making it about the textbook or busy work. Very professional but also really kind and nice.

Great professor. Gives you assignments well in advance and time to complete. Many students in the class had little interest in journalism and that is a shame. Brings students muffins and other stuff all semester. Also emailed us all our grades two days after final. Would take again for sure.

Prof. Cohen is the BEST instructor I had at GCC. Really cares that you learn & helps you improve your writing. She used games to teach us for exams. That helps a lot. Besides the book work, she also stresses real life and getting a job. We had several guest speakers (like 5 or 6) and even a pizza party. A bonus: She's very, very easy on the eyes.

Prof. Cohen is one of the best teachers I've had at GCC, no doubt. She's always there if you need her via email, text or phone. She has a few guest speakers during the semesters, just so you can get an insight about the real life out there and not just reading the books. Yet at the same time you have to actively try to fail the class to not do well because she will push you to produce better work and will stop to make sure you understand. Great teacher! She's nice, funny, and has a lot of interesting things to say. She's really down to Earth and loves her students. Just show up to class and participate, it's that simple. Prof. Cohen is the most accessible professor ever! She responded to my questions via text within moments and would make herself available for phone calls. Her lectures help to make the book more understandable and go beyond it. Oh, and she helped me land an internship. I have a degree from a 4-year university and found more value in her class.

She is very reasonable and will work with you. I had a very rough time this semester with personal issues and she kept me going. She cares so much about her students. My only complaint is that we were put in a bungalow room that was gross with paper thin walls, but that's out of her control. Take her. She will inspire you and build you up.

Its a news production class so you have to work here. She will help but if you arent a writer, you need to ask for help. She is in her office a lot and ready to assist with writing, career tips, and more. Shes no nonsense though in 103, since the paper needs to get out. Had her for 107 too and it was easier, but to be expected based on needs.

You have to be the laziest person with no intellectual curiosity to fail any of Rory's classes. If you're a vegetable, take something else! It's not an easy-A, but an A can happen if you turn in your work, participate, and ask for help to rewrite. The quizzes are straightforward and she tells you what to study. Couldn't be more clear. She's lovely.

I took Journalism 102 and loved her class. Professor Cohen is always there to help you and is so open minded. I've learned a lot from her and the class. She gives great feedback and is always willing to make her schedule available to help you . One of the best classes I've taken at GCC. Highly Recommend!

Cohen is probably the hottest teacher Iv ever had! ;) she cares for all her students and its very hard to do bad in her class; if you get anything worse than C in her class ,just drop out of college. Not too much work and a short essay due at the end of the semester. Id take more classes with her just to see her pretty face.

This teacher took over my class last minute and did a very good job. She had a lot of quizzes, one project and a final exam. There was an average amount of reading and the teacher was willing to review my project before I submitted it for a grade. Overall, if you do the work, you should get a good grade.

She is quite possibly the only professor to have made me felt wanting more lectures and to spend more time in class. Her kindness and patience are infinite and unending. Quite possibly the easiest 3 unit class I've taken. Quizzes every few weeks (3-4 weeks) but the answers are usually given in the textbook, making it easy for you get a 100% on all of them. In total there are 4 quizzes, a final exam (40 q's) and a final project! That's it! It might sound intimidating but it's not bad at all.
