Professor Reuven, is very resourceful and helpful outside of class, he wants all of his students to pass. Lecture is interesting because he gives real- world examples about certain topics and its very engaging. I would definitely recommend him if you have to take A and P 1.

I liked how Professor Ilyayev kept everyone engaged by repeating questions and putting emphasis on certain topics for lecture and lab exams. He cracks jokes at times and would connect the content with real life examples. He might not show it at first, but he cares and wants you to pass and succeed.

Dr.Ilyayev is not just a professor, he's a great teacher. What I mean by that is, no matter how stupid a question is, he approaches it with vigor and patience; if you are struggling with the material or studying, he will not make you feel like an idiot for it. From my experience in this class BIOL 40 (A&P1) with prof Reuven Ilyayev, it wasn't bad at all he's a really funny professor, I just wished he explained topics more detailed even though he explains his class well but I couldn't understand much. A&P is a very different class, however professor Ilyayev manages to break the lectures down and makes it easy to understand by occasionally using real life scenarios and stories. A&P is a hard class in which you learn the functions of the human body and the memorization of body parts. Professor Reuven makes this easier by breaking it down and making it easier to understand. In the lecture, he pulls up questions that will see if you know what you learned. In his lab class, he gives weekly quizzes that are 10 questions.

Professor explains things in a way that is easy to understand. the lecture slides are detailed with extensive footnotes that have a more advanced explanation. Sometimes it confused me but there is nothing post spoken lecture that still confused me. He posts very helpful review questions and teaches us how to actually study and be successful.

This is a difficult and heavy course but with the help of his speaker notes, example questions of what woud be in the exam and scenario examples. The class was not as difficult then it seems. He makes jokes which lighten up the lecture and class. I understand more in lecture than I do in lab and it is a good review and a better breakdown.

Great professor, explains everything thoroughly and adds little pictures of the multiple choice that's on the test so that even though you don't have to go, if you do you'll get a total of 20-30 questions that are on his 50 question tests. Tough grader but honestly a great teacher for how difficult the subject naturally is on its own.

This professor tells you how hard this class can be. If you're interested in the topic and/or are willing to put in the work, you will do great. If I had any advice for him though, I would suggest that he somehow creates some kind of optional homework system for both sections of the class to inspire students to study more for quizzes and exams.

Professor Ilyayev is an exceptional professor. I recommend that you have him as a lab instructor because he is very good at explaining everything you need to know. In lab you have a quiz every lab which helps you study and prepare for the lab exams. You should come to all classes because anything the professor repeats usually shows up on the exams.

Professor Ilyayev is very strict and tough. The course content is very vigorous. Professor Ilyayev lectures very meticulously so that you understand the content. Even so, self-studying is 95% of the course. I wouldn't have anyone else as the course head.

This class is hard and professor Ilyayev tries his best to help us understand the material with random questions throughout the lecture for active recall. My only recommendation is that don't take this class if you don't have the time to consistently review the material. At least an extra 6-10 hours a week. You really need to lock in.

I think the reason most people give Dr. Ilyayev a low rating is because of how hard the course is, but as a professor I think he's pretty good. He sometimes rambles and goes on these little talks that aren't important which do confuse me sometimes. Bio 40 is very work heavy so be prepared to memorize a lot of concepts. If you're good with time management and actually putting in the work you'll be great. I had the privilege of having a front row seat for his Lecture AND Lab this semester (I missed no classes). I've observed him to be quite knowledgeable on the topics at hand and is probably the best you will get in such a hard course. He knows how to grab students attention while speaking and gives great advice for handling loads of info.

Biol 40 is a moderately difficult class but he makes it easy to understand. He gives real life examples to explain some content even further. Lecture is given in a way where he shows how all the material connect and gradually overlap and explains what we should know terms of the scope of the material. Dr. Ilyayev has a great sense of humor and his jokes kept me coming back. He usually ends lecture 1-1.5 hours earlier than the scheduled time. You are basically guaranteed a 50% on every exam if you only study the multiple choice questions he shows in class, but to get 80%+ you need to invest a LOT of time to understand the material well.

Professor Ilyayev is engaging and explains material well, often using humor to keep classes lively. However, the course is tough—lab exams are timed and shown on a smartboard, adding pressure. Lecture exams are more traditional. Great professor, but be ready to work hard for a good grade even strong students should be prepared to put in extra work.

I took this course over the summer. The class was very fast-paced, with frequent exams, as expected. I just stared at the diagrams and rewrote the names multiple times to study. Was only graded on 7 tests: 3 mc lecture exams and 4 written lab exams. 50 questions on the tests with some extra credit on the lab tests.

Professor Ilyayev explains things really well and makes hard topics easier to understand. The class is straightforward, and he tells you what to focus on for the tests. This was my first class going back to school after 10 years. I honestly didn't brace myself for all the content that would be covered, and it reflected - it's a class that you can't put off studying for. What helps A LOT is his ability to explain terminology and flows in layman's words that makes it easier to follow.

Professor Bastien was one of the best lecturers I've had for a science-based course. He was able to connect multiple concepts given in class, making them easy to understand and relatable. The pop-up questions also helped reinforce memory. The only downside to his course was the time frame. Since it was late, it was hard to stay aware and focused.

excellent professor. listen, the class is not easy. there are 30-50 slides generally in each lecture and there's about 13 in total (so that's coming to about 400-650 slides of info you need to know. however, his lectures really simplify the core concepts. just study hard, do many practice mock exams (3 total, and then 4 for lab) and you'll be good

The professor has a good teaching style, but be prepared for a lot of material. Be careful taking Lab and Lecture in the same day, as this can be draining and make it harder to take in the information. Especially past the 6th hour.
