One word--genius. Fr. Hilton isn't all that easy, but it's definitely worth it.
Absolutely the best professor ever!
Tough, but an excellent teacher
Not really easy, but def not hard. The best teacher I Have ever had in any subject. TAKE HIM!!
Had him 2 semesters: Micro+Macroecon. Real cool guy, funny, class interesting, personable. CANNOT miss ANY classes, tests hard, very frustrating. Quiz every week. Absolutely NO hw besides studying for quizzes/tests. PAY attention. Expect a B-/B for avg
By far the best teacher I have ever had in any subject. Definitley not easy, but you leave the class understaning economics. Extremely personable, and funny... take him, you won't regret it.
The best teacher here!! Very friendly..makes the class interesting, wants you to succeed but tests are hard, you come out of the class knowing economics!! Take Him!!!!

Not the easiest class you'll take at Loyola, but definitely one of the best profs. He is very funny and very smart and the class is a good time. TAKE HIM.
Fr. Hilton is an engaging and thought provoking teacher. Great class but aweful office hours
Great teacher all around. His enormous head is sometimes distracting.
hard class, but you'll never see an 8AM class fill up so quickly. this is probably one of the most interesting classes you'll ever take... just don't plan on missing ANY because he gives weekly quizes
Best teacher I've ever had. Helluva nice guy, great to meet with if you need help, tests aren't too bad, and class is actually enjoyable. I learned a lot and had fun.
This guy is awesome. Great teacher, willing to help. He will challenge you and trust me, you will know economics pretty well! Funny guy.
BEST TEACHER!
He's the man. Has a desire to see each student excel. The class can be tough, there are a ton of notes and constant quizzes. Just make sure you show up and put in some effort. You really learn economics in this class. Hank's awesome!
The only teacher worth getting up at 8:00 for. Material is not too easy, but that's because it's economics. He presents it in the clearest way possible and manages to keep the class upbeat even at 8am. Hilton = awesome. Aureswald = piece of dung.
I've never seen a teacher so passionate about his students. Yes the material can be tough, but you will walk proudly out of his class speaking economic language. The expected rate of return in this class is greater than tuition!!
everything good about the Jesuits and their education is embodied in this man. Enough said.
very easy subject that he takes far too seriously. hate to say this about a priest, but he's a jerk. don't like him or his teaching style -- calls on ppl randomly, asks inane questions on quizzes, quizzes too frequent and unnecesary. take walters!!
So funny! He has great stories and just makes you feel good to be in his company.
great teacher, subject is hard but he does a good job explaining it. quizzes and tests are hard but possible. great teacher, great man, take him.
best microeconomics teacher ever, explains everything extremely clearly, quizzes are easy and tests are not hard either
Very clear when he's talking. Sometime hilarious and tries his best to make the subject as understandable as possible. rarely gives homework but a quiz every week, which are sometimes hard. take him if you really want to learn and understand this subject
Father Hilton best Econ teacher period. Extemely clear, always there for help, and hillarious. If you have a problem with him note that hes probably too busy helping the poor, sick, saying mass and fighting communism. Best teacher.
Had him for graduate level econ - been in college 12 years and he is the worst teacher i have ever had - a complete ****, priest or not.
Great professor, great man. Had him for graduate level class and enjoyed every minute of it, even the challenge of the weekly quizzes. Catch him for mass too, he is the real deal. No hottness rating? Not for a priest but my M-I-L thinks he is cute!
He never checks his email he not very helpful. He dose not care.
whoever said he doesnt respond to emails is a big fat liar. he always responds to emails and is always available for x-tra help. he is clear and class time was enjoyable esp when he decided to provide social commentary. an awesome teacher!
Great teacher, really knows what he is talking about. He often speeks real fast and is needed to be asked questions or reminded to slow down.
This man will teach you nothing! Priest? wow would have never guessed that. Just a wash up that couldn't handle the real world and traded his collar in for an on campus room, and a job teaching students everything he couldn't do in the real world.
This man is the best teacher I have had at any level. Great guy and very approachable. The statement about him not hacking it in the world probably comes from someone too stupid to do the work. it is definitely a challenge but a rewarding class. i'm taking him again next semester
Great guy-classic jesuit. explains the material very well-only problem is that if you have already taken microecon its a little difficult because he teaches it his own way (i.e. special little acronyms, diff. definitions, etc.) all in all easy class-tests every tuesday are directly from the notes and exams arent bad at all.
Coolest priest !!!...Take him...The easiest teacher I've ever had...quiz every week...but SOOO EASYYYY....He knows how teach so that you understand.Good notes=A...and its not even hard to take good notes...He made micro interesting even at 8am!!!...ps..you can DEF. get by without reading the text even though he says u do...
Great teacher, however if you're a visual learner I would advise against him. he lectures during class and writes down very little. If you can listen to everything he says and make good notes you should do well
had him 8 am and he woke me up every morning very intense guy...not gonna lie it can be hard but he wants you to succeed and will help...he rele is a great teacher and if u have interest in bein a business major hes the guy to take cuz he knows his stuff...not a lot of hw at all...very ez 10 pt quiz every week to boost grades...exams test concepts
Prof. Hilton is a great professor. He's really hard, and you need to understand the concepts, not just memorize but he's so nice and really helpful if you put in the effort!
Father Hilton was a great teacher. He really helped you when you didn't understand the concepts. He's big on class participation. Be prepared to know the answers. Quizzes - oral and written every week. He'll make you KNOW mircoecon. Tons of class notes. You SHOULD read the textbook, but its not vital to pass the class. TAKE HIM. HE'S GREAT!!!!
Really good teacher. Has a good teaching style, but if you are not a visual learner, he's not the teacher for you. Hilarious sense of humor and makes an effort to make sure that you are successful. Go to his office hours at the first sign of not understanding anything. Gives quizzes every week and is huge on participation. Overall, awesome guy.
Highly motivated; pretty warped sense of humor for a Jesuit; seems intimidating at times, but is actually a really cool guy once you get to know him. Expect weekly quizzes, tough exams, frequent graphing assignments, and random grilling on the material; but also an overall good time in the class.
Speaks fast, but is interesting and helpful.
If u want an easy A dont take. But if u want to do a reasonable amount of work, learn a lot, and have a good time in class then take it. Once in a while it is nice to get ur $45,000/per worth and learn something through hard work. He speaks fast, but is willing to repeat and will work with u. Ur ability to take notes will determine ur grade.
He is a great guy. The material is presented very clearly. Its a fast paced class, but if you're falling behind he wont hesitate to help you out. If you study for the weekly quizzes you'll be fine throughout the semester. This class isn't overly demanding but stay on top of it.
Intensive, note based class. Really wants you to understand the material and apply it to real world situations. Funny, helpful, and cares about his students. Weekly quizzes are fine if you study and listen in class. Highly recommended.
Great Teacher. Very helpful and wants his students to learn and do good. Class was always fun and funny. I always wanted to go to class. Must take good notes and pay attention to do well. Overall very good class. Maccabees
Took macro. Great professor and there is never a dull class. As long as you take notes and ask questions you can do fine on tests and quizzes. Had plenty of office hours for extra help too. You'll be more aware of current events in the economy and correct grammar usage.
Great teacher. Class was fun and interesting. Learned a lot.
Great teacher, great man. Always kept class interesting. If you take good notes you will do fine on all tests and quizzes. Learned alot about current events too. Numbers
He explains the material in a very clear way, by leaving out the stuff you don't need to know and getting to the point. His tests are only hard because if you miss a few questions your grade gets knocked down very quickly. He teaches in a way that makes you want to listen and understand. But take good notes!
Good teacher. Quiz every other day. Learned a lot though, very effective teacher.
Very good professor, works well with students. Is always available to help.
Father Hilton is honestly one of the best educators here at Loyola. His teaching style is direct and effective, resembling an interactive lecture-type course, but it's worth it. I came in with no real interest in Economics and now I'm hoping to get Father Hank for Macro...I really suggest taking him, if at all possible, 'cause he's great!
Father Hilton is the MAN...... he makes class totally interesting. I had his class at 8 and i loved waking up for it. His grades very nicely and its SOOOOOOO easy to ace his class..... TAKE HIS CLASS OR YOU WILL REGRET
Father Hilton is a very nice man and probably one of the most level headed best professor here at Loyola. I had him at 8am and would still get up to go to his class. Very clear in his lecture-style and easy to do well provided you take notes and pay attention. Would definitely take him again if I could.
Great Prof. Difficult to understand at times seeing as he is a genius. If you do all your homework and go to see him with questions before an exam you should do okay.
Fr Hilton is probably the best teacher I have ever had. He's extremely intelligent, nice, and he makes his class interesting and very bearable to sit through. He's always available for help and makes it so that you are always aware of what is going on in class by keeping the class interactive and not completely lectured. DEFINETELY take him.
Fr. Hilton is definitely one of the best professor's I've ever had-he is very helpful and his clear teaching style kept me interested and involved in the material being taught. FYI It is very important not to skip one of his classes! He is a genuinely nice person and it is obvious that he cares about his students. DEFINITELY take him :)
Father Hilton is the best. He is such a good teacher and will help you with anything. Class can get confusing, but go and see him and he will help you a lot.
When it comes to Father Hilton he is an extremely nice guy. His test can be challenging but quizzes usually are easy. His class consists of taking a lot of notes so I would recommend going to every class. But overall he is a great guy and is willing to help.
LOVE this man. I recommend going to class, lots of notes so if you miss class you will fall behind. Quizzes once a week which are very easy and will boost your grade. Tests are challenging but not ridiculous.. great teacher who really cares about his students.
Love him! you have to go to class and be alert but isnt that why we goto school? the notes are the course and there is a quizzes every weds. He is a jesuit but doesn't treat you like a regular priest would.. he's very cool and super smart. Make a point to visit him during office hours so he knows your name!
Father Hilton was one my favorite teacher at Loyola and I still keep in touch with him today. He isn't the easiest, but you learn a ton. He makes Econ enjoyable and class fun - which is pretty tough to do. The reason I majored in Econ.
He is definitely one of the best professors I've had at Loyola. His lectures are clear and he tells you all of only the important things, that appear on the quizzes and exams. Weekly quizzes really help to learn the information and are a good way to help your grade. I hated micro, this macro class was a world of a difference.
Hilton is the man, plain and simple. Very fair, lays out everything before each class. Quizzes every wed., 2 tests that if you put in the time to study you'll ace. The final is somewhat cumulative but probably the easiest test of the semester. MUST TAKE GOOD NOTES. it's a rapid-fire lecture course but it was the best class I took all year. Take him
Easily one of the greatest professors I've ever had. I had no interest in studying economics when I first started, but he inspired me to either major or minor in it. TAKE HIM IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE (don't be a schlump). Seriously, even though its a lecture he knows everybody and it feels like a small class. So glad to have had him. [Hag-something]
Great teach a lot of not but if you keep up with them and study the class is not bad
Father Hilton is by far the greatest teacher I've ever had. He's not only a genius but really cares about every student and wants us all to succeed. His weekly quizzes aren't too bad, but he is a tough grader on the tests so study hard. You may not get the best grade in the world by taking his class, but you'll be glad that you did. (modwenna)
Father Hilton is the BEST! took him for Micro AND macro. literally funniest guy AND is so clear about the material! and he's so caring for his students, makes the class so interesting that you don't even realize time passes. bottom line: TAKE HIM OR YOU WILL REGRET IT
Great teacher! Really understand his students and his lectures are helpful and entertaining. The notes are crucial for quizzes and tests. Come to class because you will enjoy it! TAKE HIM
Favorite teacher ever! Going to every class is imperative, as he moves fast. Extremely clear, straight forward notes. Studying hard and in groups will make class easy. Honestly wants everyone to succeed. Willing to go over problems until you understand it. Most genuine person you will ever meet! (Auductus)
Great Teacher. Notes are very clear and straightforward. Class is challenging but is bearable if you take good notes. Rarely uses the textbook so don't waste your money on it. Attendance is not mandatory, but he messes with you if you miss consistently. Loves messing with people, especially with their hair. Great class and Great teacher. Take him!
Father Hilton is so far the best instructor I've had in Grad School. He has a genuine concern for students to understand the material and do well. He has this great ability to tie in course material with the real world and current events. Don't miss class because his tests are based on the lectures and notes! He made economics enjoyable!
One of the best professors I've ever had. Made the economic concepts easy to understand. Being in class is a must and be prepared to take lots of notes. Quizzes every week that aren't too hard and exams are a little more challenging but all straight from notes.
Great professor! Always made class interesting and related class material to real world examples. Although class is large he makes an effort to know all students. My quiz avg. dropped at the beginning of the semester and he showed his concern right away asking what was wrong and asked how the adjustment to college was going. Everyone should take hi
An outstanding professor! Probably the best professor I've ever had! He made the class enjoyable and although this course isn't the easiest, it's a reasonable workload. Father Hilton has a genuine concern for all of his students. I wish he taught more GB courses!! I would DEFINITELY recommend taking one of his classes!
Easily one of the best professors I've ever had. Genuine interest in the students' learning, good pace, personable, unbiased, has plenty of experience and knowledge in economics, keeps up with the topic. Any course taught by him would be outstanding. You'll have to pay attention to do well, but if you put your time in, it'll be a great experience.
Doesn't assign HW. Tests from his notes, so make sure you study. Does at a good pace, doesn't overwhelm you with material on a weekly basis.
I loved Professor Hilton he's a great teacher, maybe one of the best I've ever had. You'll never be bored in his class because his lectures are so good and because he's so funny. The material can be difficult at times but if pay attention, work and study hard you'll do well. He gives weekly quizzes, 2 tests and a final and almost no homework.
Really wants students to do well. Always extremely helpful. Keeps the class very involved and almost never gets bored. Although hard, I would strongly recommend taking this professor.
best teacher i have ever had hands down.
There will no other professor that can even come close to being compared to him. He is the absolute man! He cares so much about his students and tells you everything you need to know. Quizzes every week, so study so you can use those as a grade booster. Tests are hard, but if you really study you should do fine!
He is a great guy and a really great teacher. If I could I would take him again. He has a quiz every week which if you study for you will do fine. His tests are very hard, but if you prepare they are decent.
Father Hilton is a terrific teacher, and an even better guy. He truly cares about his students and goes out of his way to make sure each and everyone does well and understands the at times confusing material. He has weekly quizzes, but each consists of five or less questions and are easy to study for and do well on. I would highly recommend.
Very good teacher. take him. the material is not the easiest, but he explains it very well. Attendence is not mandatory but you will see you need to go to class because the notes are so in depth. take his class!
Great teacher. I would totally recommend him to anyone. He truly cares about his students. Tough material, but quizzes are easy. Tests are very difficult, but if you study your fine.
Father Hilton is a great guy. Be prepared to take a lot of notes and study for tests and quizzes. This class is very difficult but if you put in the time and effort Father Hilton will be glad to help you.
Hilton is a great guy. I would recommend him to any student. the material is hard but if you go to class/office hours you will do well. honestly thought i was going to hate econ but because hilton was my teacher i looked forward to class. if you have the opportunity to take his class you should.
Hands down the best teacher ive ever had. easy weekly quizzes that help boost your grade. tests are difficult but if you study they arent that bad. He is really there for you and wants you to succeed just as much as you do. there shouldnt be a doubt in your mind, take hilton!
He is one of the best professors i have ever got the pleasure of knowing. His vast knowledge of economics and places is ridiculous. He really gets to know the kids he teaches. Weekly quizzes are helpful and notes very straight forward.
Professor Hilton is wonderful. He is very engaging, sometimes he goes off on tangents, but the tangents are usually anecdotes that get you more interested in what he has to say. This was my favorite class this semester.
Had him for MicroEcon 102 and he's great! He's all about UWisconsin but he embodies what a professor at RU is all about! He's helpful, and understanding and a great teacher! Read the book, it will get you to the B/A range!
The positive reviews tell you everything. Wonderful, funny, and engaging man. This was only an elective for me, but it became my favorite class. He is committed to his students and their learning. 350 characters does not do him justice. Be thankful if you have any class with Prof. Hilton.
Great teacher and a great guy. Made a 3 hour 45 minute class go by fairly quick. Just take the notes and study them, the book is not necessary at all.
Had the pleasure of taking Micro with Father Hilton during his last semester at Loyola. Hands down the most helpful professor I have ever had. Every class was intense, and he really pushed his students to their full potential. Father Hilton's wonderful teaching and spirit lead me to pursue a degree in economics. We miss you at Loyola, come back!!
Everyone who is taking micro needs to take it with him. Hands down the best professor I've ever had, not just because he teaches well, but also because he gets to know each student and motivates and inspires us all. Just pay attention in class and study your notes and you're likely to get an A
make sure you go to class and take good notes; focus mostly on notes and just a little on the book
