Very helpful. Always available in his office to help students. He taught the concepts clearly; you can't get confused. His class was very well structured and organized. Tests were straight forward and tested the concepts well. I really enjoyed his class!

The best CIS teacher at BYU-Idaho hands down.

He makes learning fun. Even during early morning times, it's still good. He has homework for every day - but it's "follow the directions and do it" kind of homework. Keep up and you'll get an A.

He is the best IS teacher at the school. Teaches very clearly, do your homework and you'll be fine. Ask intelligent questions, not just "I don't get it" Good sense of humor and makes class enjoyable. Don't miss his classes or you'll fall behind.

Great teacher. Funny and helpful. I hated programming until I took 310 from him. Now, I love it. Homework, tests, and grading are fair. The class can be challenging but it's so worth it and he requires that you work on projects with another class member so you're never on your own. I loved the class and had no bad experiences. Learned a ton.

By far the best teacher I'veever had! Not that my other teachers were bad, Bro. Barzee is just that much better :) I took him last semester for CIT 203 and I'm taking him this semester for 140 and 210. If I can, I'll take him for as many classes as I can. I understand when he teaches.

Barzee is a great teacher to take for this class. He talks you through everything and helps out through emails and personally. Assignments aren't too hard, 3 tests, and most things are done right out of the book (which he wrote and is only like $10) Highly recommend for the 210 class!

Brother Barzee in my opinion is the best in the CIT department. I like how he teaches alot. He has alot of group work in his classes and alot of hands on. He wants you to do good and he'll call on you in class and make you learn. Its intimidating, but I learned alot from him. It is a difficult class.

Enjoy his lectures and very helpful if you have problems understanding the material. Follows a set schedule that rarely changes. Class is not mandatory but highly suggested to understand the material. All tests & quizes are inclass on ilearn & written. Very good class, look forward to taking Barzee again for future CIT courses.

Barzee is the man!!! Very helpful inside and outside of class. Wrote a book to help save students money. Really drove home some fundamental topics that were used throughout the entire program. Willing to meet with students outside of class.

WOW, amazing semester and class. The half semester project was a blast and drove home concepts that are otherwise difficult to understand. Amazing professor and tests are not that hard if you work at learning. Willing to meet outside of class and will answer about any questions asked.

Honestly I don't know why this man doesn't have a red chili pepper. He challenges you in his class but it's good. When I think about how much I've learned this semester it amazes me. Brother Barzee is very smart and he is a funny guy. Class is enjoyable and you'll learn a lot from him.

GREAT teacher! One of the only decent CIT teachers in the department. He is very clear on the assignments and teaches in a way that makes you understand really well!

Excellent educator. He knows programming very well and teaches it with proficiency. He does make you stretch, but he is always there to help you. Homework load is not bad at all! Very good about answering questions! No busy work.

Bro. Barzee is the single most down to earth, helpful teacher I've had at this school. He manages to be very laid back while maintaining professionalism. He is impeccably clear and is willing to slow the whole lecture down if even one student isn't understanding the material.

He understands that it's an introductory course and does not expect you to have a lot of background knowledge in programming when taking this class. The class is pretty easy and you can get an A as long as you attend the class and complete fairly easy projects. The exams are worth 50% of your grade

He knows how to address an intro group of students even though he his way beyond that. He really cares and loves to help. I am so happy I got my first taste of programming from him!

I took the intro to Databases class my first semester at byui and I loved this class! I was one out of the 4 girls in class which was a little odd but I learned so much. Brother Barzee is a great teacher and really wants to help you understand all the concepts. He bumped my grade from a B+ to an A- which was awesome

Bro Barzee is by far the greatest teacher known to man. At least as far as programming. He knows his stuff very well, but teaches it in a way that is easy to understand. Assignments helped you learn the concepts but weren't excessive, perfect balance in my opinion. I would take him for any class. I recommend him 100 percent!

This was simply a difficult class because we learned javascript, which I was never introduced to before. Brother Barzee is a computer genius and is willing to help students who come to class ready to learn. He is one of my favorite teachers because of his humor and his creativity. He designs lessons just to help anyone who struggles in his class!

Class accelerated at a great pace to learn programming, except the final project. Went from coding assignments that were a few pages of code to a GUI calculator, 200+ pages. Even doing project, there is a huge difficulty jump between this class and Barney's 312. There should be another class in-between this and 312. invest time into this class.

He gives unlimited opportunities for extra credit by writing extra programs and sharing them with the class. I wish he taught more CIT classes..

Everybody pretty much got an A for learning the basics of databases. I was one of the few to get a B+. He is definitely one of the more kind teachers. He even jokes around once in a while.

He uses examples and codes with us, so it's not difficult to get what he's teaching. He wrote the book for this class too so he knows his stuff. Definitely will take him again!

I took CIT 111, 160 from Brother Barzee and he is phenomenal! I wish he taught more classes. He really wants you to understand the material and provides extra credit opportunities. He is very clear in his lectures and participation is encouraged. He always has ta's ready to help in class as well.

Brother Barzee is one of the best professors I have had because he is so willing to work with each student. He will stop class when you have a question or problem with your code. He allows time in class to work on homework which is great for busy college students. He also does a fair amount of dad-jokes which is hilarious. Definitely recommend. :)

HE IS AMAZING! Even if you think CIT is the hardest thing in the world he will make sure you pass this class. At first I didn't think this was the class for me (I was one of the only girls) but he worked with me a bit and I understand it now and it makes sense and I changed my major to CIT because I love it so much! I took Intro to Robotics from him and it's not that hard a class to pass as long as you participate and do the small prep assignments. Just show up and do the work and you'll pass.

He challenges you enough to where you learn a lot, but not to the point of you going crazy. It's perfect! He will work with you personally if you are struggling with something too.

This class takes a lot of work outside and in class. The great thing is that it is so much fun! Now, the groups are assigned and I am sure that I would not have had an as great experience without my awesome group. Work hard and work as a team. This class is very difficult but very fulfilling.

I took CIT 160 from him and it went really well. He is great at explaining things and will make sure everyone understands the concept. He makes the most confusing things look so easy that you would say "though" in the end of every class.

He is kind, funny, and tries his best to keep the class engaged. 100% take his class!! (only complaint is he doesn't answer emails, but he makes up for that by having office hours). Side note: take advantage of CIT Labs.

HE IS THE BEST TEACHER FOR ANY INITIAL PROGRAMMING CLASS! He is super caring. Just read the Prep content for the class work on the activities on your own for at least 20 min before the class and then you will just have to be in class for like 15-20 min the most.

Brother Barzee is willing to work one on one with his students. Most of the prove assignments were two weeks long so you have plenty of time to work on them. I wish there was a TA near the end of semester because everybody had questions and there was only one professor. It was a Great class with a fun teacher though.

Amazing guy. I would take all my CIT or CS requirements from him if I could take them from him. I am new to the programming part of computers, and he made everything so easy and simple. You can ask the dumbest questions, and he won't make you feel dumb. He has a sense of humor. I would feel comfortable asking questions to him for other classes.

This was Brother Barzee's first time teaching Technical Teamwork, but the fact that the class was poor speaks more to the fact that it's a pointless class than it does of his teaching ability. He did a good job presenting the material and graded the assignments fairly.

ITM111 is not a super hard class and you can succeed if you do the readings, attend class, and ask questions!

This is a fantastic and caring professor. The course focuses on designing and creating projects. While the concepts and coding were simple, the projects were large and time-consuming. The available help labs and tutoring made the material much easier to handle. Most class periods were work days, so taking this class online is not a big change.

This was a very easy class. The professor, Brother Barzee, often did the prep work on the projector, and many classes were dedicated to working on team assignments. I highly recommend taking this in person to get experience coding with others. The projects were easy as long as you followed the provided course materials.
