Lectures are informative, but tests cover from the book (which is hard to read). Has a bad attitude, and believes his opinion is the right one.
ditto
He is a good teacher, but what it really boils down to is that you should read your textbook before his tests and you won't have any problem. In other words study you won't get anything for free in this world.
Very easy. All tests/quizzes usually take home.
very easy!!!!!!!!!!1

i had him for the first part of US history. he's not the easiest teacher, but as long as you try, come to class, and study the slightest bit, you'll pass. he's kind of a dprk, but a nice guy.

he's extremely confusing to me...
This guy spends more time talking about his messed up family than teaching. If you're up to teaching yourself sign up with him but dont expect any real helpfullness.
He is very good with information.

This was a good experience. He likes for us to write, which helps me.
This Prof' lets us make up stuff if we miss. His extra credit is going to museums and such, so I can do well in his class even when I have to miss. He has been good to me and likes my ideas when we talk about history.
I took Mr. Field in the Spring. He was a very good instructor and was knowledgable in that subject. He was not just reading the book, but tried to show us how history had many ways to be thought of. I didn't always get his humor, but he is very smart and fair.
Mr. Fields is really into his history stuff. I did not want to take history but he made it better than I expected. Fields wants wrting on essays but does not hurt the grade over grammar which is good for someone not from US like me.
Excellent teacher, Mr. Field offers a class of history knowledge. He makes history interest and enjoyable. If I had the chance to take his class twice, I would. Two tumbs up for this Professor.
As long as you read the book on your own and can comprehend then you will be fine. He can be a little boring but only if your not really into history. If you love reading and history take him...
To be honest, his class bores the hell out of me. He never stops talking! He lets you take your quizes home, which is cool, but I don't know if it's worth being bored. He does go off subject A LOT. But I guess that keeps it interesting. If you like easy work, this class is for you, if you get bored fast, SKIP THIS CLASS!!!!
He not all that but all tests and quizes are take home! It cant get any easier than that!
He was an ok professor. Yea he is a little boring but what more do you want. (He lets you take home your final as well as test and quiz)
VERY INTERESTING!!! Mr. Field has informative and hilarious lectures. I understand history in a way I never understood before! I might consider switching majors because of Mr. Field. His extra credit assignments offer every student the opportunity to ace this course. TAKE HIS COURSE!!!

mr.field is a wonderful professor whom i take every chance i get.he is a very intellegent man.
very easy and cool!!
really easy class to pass.
It amazes me that people in this class actually dropped or failed. This was a very easy class. Tests were take home. He was very clear and had very interesting history stories to tell. Very interesting professor.
VERY EASY CLASS EVERY THING IS TAKE HOME...
Bad teacher, boring, ****ed, but easy. Take the class but be prepared not to learn about anything.
VERY EASY CLASS. HE DOESN'T NOTICE IF YOUR GONE, BUT PLEASE DON'T SHOW UP LATE AND INTERRUPT! HE HATES IT AND HE CAN GET RUDE. HE GIVES TAKE HOME TEST & QUIZZES WHICH IS COOL. HE GOES OFF SUBJECT ALOT, HE KNOWS HIS HISTORY, BUT HONESTLY I DIDN'T LEARN MUCH BUT IF YOU NEED AND EASY PASS THIS IS IT!!!!!
Mr. Field will not only teach you about history but life too. He loves to talk about life in general, easily side tracked. He's hilarious, offers so much extra credit, you don't have to take the final. I really enjoyed taking his class. Learned a lot about history because he explains it in terms for young people to be interested. Take his class!!!!
talks alot,it was boring to me probably because I don't like history. No homework or in-class work. Things you learned back in high school, attendance is not important, just be there when he gives out the test. All test are take home test,so they're open book test,Final exam is a research paper, but is a very easy grader,he's usually late. EASY class!
Outstanding instructor,if you listen to his lectures you will learn, this gentleman knows his American History, not one boring moment in his class, besides he will always keep the class laughing,I recommand that if you want to learn about American History take his class..OUTSTANDING....
Must be to class ON TIME!!! Easy "A" as long as you complete the test and quizzes (about 6 total) not much homework, only one book report. He gives a lot of extra credit chances. He is unorganized and does not follow the syllabus. If you miss class it's easy to get lost, but he will respond to e-mails very quickly.
MR. FIELD IS A GREAT PROF...HE KNOWS HIS HISTORY N LECTURES PLENTY ON IT, BUT HE ALSO TENDS TO GET SIDE TRACKED...I ENJOYED BEING IN HIS CLASS..HE'S COOL, HILARIOUS, YET DOES A GOOD JOB ON HIS TEACHING...
MR. FIELD IS VERY HUMOROUS AND WITTY. I RECOMMEND THIS CLASS IF YOU DONT LIKE HISTORY AND YOU WANT TO PASS FOR SURE. HE GIVES LOTS OF EXTRA CREDIT!HE GETS OFF TRACK A LOT, BUT THAT GIVES U TIME TO DO OTHER STUFF IF UR NOT INTERESTED.ALL TESTS N QUIZES R TAKE HOME. EASY!
Hates when you ask questions about what to read or what articles will be used.TRICK>Sit in front! That will allow you to hear him since he hates repeating himself. All take home test.scattered questions throughout book.TALKS way too much about his family.
Rex field is a great teacher, and if you can't pass his class you're no better than a monkey. Not even the smarter monkeys, more like the runt of family who struggles peeling bananas. Showing up is like 80% of the battle. If you can do that, and with a tiny bit of magic, you monkeys out there will pass.
TOOK BOTH 1301 AND 1302 SUPER EASY CLASS. TURN IN ALL TEXT ON TIME WHEN ASSIGNED AND ON BOOK ANALYSIS AT THE END OF CLASS. GIVES EXTRA CREDIT. LIKE THEY SAY A MONKEY CAN PASS THE CLASS.
VERY EASY CLASS, AND EXCELENT TEACHER. HE TAKES THE TIME TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS, DONT REALLY ENEV NEED TO BUY A TEXT BOOK. I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO EVERYONE.
If you want an easy A, this is the best professor you could possibly have. If you truly want to learn about History, you might want another professor. A very nice guy, though.
He's all right if you want to pass, he does get off subject alot and you have to listen carefully about which chapter to read, but you'll pass if you read the book
So easy...easy a...easy to get along with...nice guy.
easy A .......very boring gets off subjects a lot but very easy class corny jokes but he's cool.... hates obama a lot for some reason but if u want an A take him
eaaaaaaaaaaasssssssyyyy!!!!!take home quizs and test ! easy easy A . cooool and funny guy
VERY EASY IF YOUR SERIOUSE ABOUT PASSING. YOU NEED TO BUY TWO TEXT BOOKS. DONT ASK A QUESTION WHEN HES ALREADY EXPLAINED IT HE DOES NOT LIKE REPEADING HIMSELF.
he is really easy however im a history major and well it wasnt what i expected he did get off topic alot like the first month all we talked about was his family and his motorcycle so...if u just want to take the class just to pass take him if u want a history degree take a different prof.
EASY CLASS!!! everything is take home. did not like him too much, but its easy to get over that if your looking for an easy A
worst teacher of all freaking time. does nothing but talk bad about you when you walk out of class. he can walk out...no big deal. talks more about his family then he talks about history! real annoying. everything is take home...only because he doesnt teach. take him if you want an easy a and dont care to learn history
I took his class my very first semester at PAC. WORST TEACHER EVER. He doesnt stay on topic, he talks about his family and not about history, NO respect for student, does NOT keep you informed of your grade. The only good thing I can say about his class is that its easy.
I didnt learn anything in his class.
well i didnt learn anything in this class...when i took it nothing was take home...we never used the book he just talked about himself most of the time and gave out tests...however, we did go on a little field trip to the espada mission it was pretty cool...
Fields is very into his thing. I liked his style, let us talk about anything. Easy to get him off track when we talked about other things, but he's a good guy. Was kind to me when I had trouble with an essay, let me do it again. I do like history more since I took his class.
I was not want to add thought in "rate," but I was surprised to read some bad on this teacher. I just returned to school, mother with 3 kids. Mr. Field talked to me and made me interested. He sent me to museums for extra credit work, or else I would not have gotten an A. Someone said easy class, but I don't think so! I'm older, though, maybe why.
Mr. Field is a wonderful Professor. I will admit that he tends to get off track but if you are really intrested in the subjuct it is very easy to bring him back . He has a very relaxed teahing style but he wants he students to resd the assignments and engage in a group discussion in clas this applies to all his classes,
Mr. Field is a good teacher. This was my second history class in college and he is by far the best in this subject. I knew nothing of Maya or early native people before. I have registered for 1302 with him and hope it goes as well. He talks to every student (not always nice to some who mess round!) and is all over the classroom.Old fashioned ideas.
Loved the section on the Maya. Mr. Field clearly enjoys teaching *that* topic. This was a very interesting class! (Lots of extra credit opportunities if grades slip.)
Easy class! I like the monkey comment. :P I feel bad for his family though. Stop talking about them, Mr. Field! But the extra credit and the take-home quizes make me love this class. And there's field trips! Who doesn't love field trips? :)
Mr. Fields is one of the more interesting professors at Pal Alto. I have come back after some years away and started college again. He is definitely more interesting than what I remembered from teachers here before. Maybe I'm just older, but I truly like history now. He took us to a mission , had us write about it. Very good teacher.
Mr. Field isn't the hardest teacher however he is always 20 minutes late to class he's always talking to other students or professors. The test and quizzes are take home along with writing a short essay. The only problem was the 10 pg paper we had to write however I did everything in class and made an A just do the work and you will get an "A".
He cant stay on subject to save his own life. Very little discussion on history, never takes role either. Spends most of class talking about his political viewpoint (republican) and is insensitive to people who oppose it. I do not recommend this class to anyone.
Awesome teacher
OMG!! I cannot believe the comments I'm reading. Mr.Field is a really nice guy and he's the kind of guy that I would hang out with, but come on! I'm here to learn and not hear about his Republican views. Even the questions he would use on quiz/test were random. I Used Wikipedia more than the book.Bring another book to class, its going to be boring.
Lots of extra credit opportunities. Uses main text book a lot, and a only once the workbook. Great guy who loves history and teaching it. Easy A for me, but could be tougher for those who usually need extra help in this area. He does TRY to help those who ASK for help, though. I saw many who never turned in homework, and expected to be given breaks
He is an awesome instructor. Sure, he goes off topic and he can be offensive to some people but he is not targeting any one person or group of people. He is fair and will help anyone who talks to him about it. Open book exams, lots of extra credit, a few short essays and one 10-page essay (which you know about the first day)
Cool teacher, has some jokes, but he does get off topic A LOT. It would be nice if he had an outline of the semester to have some kind of organization.
WEIRD GUY. Easy class but not worth going to class when you know 55 of the 75 minutes of classtime will be devoted to topics irrelevant to Hist. Do your work and turn it in on time and you'll be alright. Treats women much better than he treats the men. What a doubel standard. Women, if you are good looking and want a easy A, this class is for you

If you have fields as your history prof. i recomend you switch classes as quikly as possible. HE IS A TOTAL AIR HEAD,he CONSTANTLY GETS OFF SUBJECT,ONLY LIKES TO SEE THE WORLD IN HIS POINT OF VIEW! DOES NOT LIKE TO HEAR OTHERS POINTS OF VIEW ON THE GOVERNMENT. ALWAYS 10-15 MINS LATE TO CLASS!
Easy A,take home exams, lots of extra credit,a few short essays and one 5 page essay due on the last day of class
This Professor knows his stuff when he is talking about the subject. 90% of the time he will go off on a tangent and talks about his travels etc. Interesting stories. Books are required but not necessary since all quiz answers can be obtained online. Easy A if you were to ingage him in conversation even unrelated to history.
He will call you out, and he doesnt care. He is full of himself. but if you go to class and take notes you should be fine!
He will go off subject a lot. He isn't very clear with assignments. I would not recommend him, really. If you do end up with him, though, talk to him, meet him, get to know him, and he'll be friendly to you and easy to work with. He gives easy extra credit.
Cooler than a polar bears toe-nails... Yes, hey may go off on a tangent but the information is still very relevant and informative. He does allow others to provide their points of view but will make sure you understand his. take home tests are a plus and the paper was easy breezy. I'll take him again in a heartbeat n has definitly recommended him
Very nice and easy to listen to. Goes of the subject, but has very interesting stories. I would recommend him since it's been 30 yrs sine I've been in school. What I like was going off campus and going to he missions very interesting and he knows alot about the construction on the building at the missions.
Great Professor. He does go off subject quite a bit. never takes roll. do tests at home with book. a few essays and a 5 pg book analysis as a final exam. Talk to him, get to know him, he likes that. EASY!!!
Easy class. Need to buy two books, doesnt matter the edition like other classes. He wants you to save $$ I bought my book on amazon for 1.99 never takes roll. easy xtra credit. take home exams. easy essays. 5pg book analysis as final exam. no homework. watch short history films in class, write 2 or 3 sentances on what struck you the most EASY!!!
Somewhat easy professor. He goes off subject a lot, and you dont actually learn a whole lot in his class. You kinda have to learn on your own. The assignments, however, are easy as long as you have the book.
Took course in Maymester. No homework, exams are take home, and hardly used the books. He gave us (4) 1 page essays and 1 book analysis (on any history book of your choice) for the final. No final exam for his class. He does go off topic A LOT. He doesn't call roll but I suggest to go to class because he plays short films that may be on next exam.
Do not take this teacher. He gets off topic A LOT! He rambles on about any little thing. We don't ever use the books he assigned, except on test, which are luckily take home. He doesn't assign homework which is good, but honestly you don't learn from him. If you want to learn, then I suggest reading the text books, because he talks about things that are not relevant to the course.
DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE!He is super boring, gets off topic a lot, and can be rude. We didn't ever use the two text books he assigned. However all his test are take home, and that's about the only homework he gives out.
Didn't use the book he assigned adn was hardly on topic.
Great teacher was very helpul. would take his class again.
get off subect a tab bit but i really enjoyed his class very funny teacher.
Real leniant. Doesn't care about attendance. Test and quizes online. Real cool guy too.
doesn't care about attendance. online quizzes and tests... It's an easy class. He is kind of rude and he tends to go off topic a lot.
all take home tests and quizes, very easy
HE GETS OFF TOPIC A LOT AND TALKS ABOUT OTHER STUFF, AS LONG AS YOU SHOW UP YOU CAN PASS HIS CLASS
Guy was rude. Tests online. Easy and answers can be found online. Got off subject almost every class.
You have to be thick skin & not take his opinion personnally. Speak up if you have questions or comments. Take-home test took time to do but you learn more researching beyond the book. His teaching style is unique. Read chapters, show up for class, take notes, complete test & essay, and you'll pass with an A. Listening in class is easy.
He is a great story teller for history. If you listen to his lecture and take notes you'll hear many answers to the questions on the quizes and exams. Participation is encourage after all everyone has a story to tell in history.
He never even talked about the subject, you need thick skin, and he franqually doesn't care.
If you want an easy class where you don't need the books, to take notes, nor do you have to show up (he only took attendance like the first week of class) then this is the class for you. he talks about NOTHING important & all exams are take home. But if you want a real education, do not take him.
This professor was so rude, and I'm never taking him again. I asked one simple question in class and responded in a very rude way because my opinion was different. I turned in every assignment, did extra credit and got A's on all of them. I received a C for my final grade. If you plan on taking this class, don't interact in class, just stay quiet.
What the heck is with these bad ratings? Mr Field was a wonderful person! He was so energetic. He really loved talking about history! Whenever something was going on with me, I would talk to him about it and he always was there for me. He's a little bias to the right, but he still respect's your opinions. I have the utmost respect for him!
Overall the class wasn't too hard at the end, but he was very confusing for one; two he always went off topic and lastly he was kinda rude. Would not take this class again.
I liked this class because he does not force you to participate in class discussion. Quizzes and tests are really easy.
I didn't learn a single thing in his class yet I passed with an A. If you want an easy A and don't mind wasting your time in a boring, off topic, and pointless lecture, then this is the class for you. however, if u want to actually learn or need to be motivated to go to class by the idea that it's going to be worthwhile, then it's not for you.
Hmmm... Well he is a good teacher... but he is not. It is tough to say. He will add his own opinions and often will get off topic but he does have a strong passion for History. Many times he showed up late for class by about 12min. He gives magic point (Extra credit). Also if you are a Democratic who voted for Obama... He is an open Obama hater.
his work is very unclear. spends most of the class rambling on about his family and other things not pertinent towards the class. the questions on tests are very hard to find and a majority of them DO NOT COME FROM THE BOOK, honestly i have no clue where the questions are even from. he requires a 10 page book report that he grades very tough.
really knowledgeable. lots of fun.
He was an interesting professor, and yes like other reviews here he did go off topic a LOT but he was very passionate about History and you will learn a alot from his brief lectures. (Goes off topic a bunch) He might be a bit rude but overall as long as you show up, do all the quizzes, and tests you'll be fine
He talked so fast he was difficult to understand.
He just rants about he's opinions about topics that don't relate to the course. Extremely rude!
Mr Field made it LOUD AND CLEAR that he hates Obama and ADORES Trump. If you want to fall asleep in his class, take this one. He talks about something related to history the first 5 mins of class then for the rest he talks about his kids, his wife and all kinds of stuff. I didn't learn one thing in this course and i'm sure no one ever will.
Talks a lot. Has good stories. Take home open book tests. Many readings to use during tests.
Field spends most of class rambling on about his family life or politics. He makes some questionable comments in class that border racism. Shows up ten minutes late to class and leaves ten minutes early, several times he's been emailed yet he never responded to any of them. If you want to learn more about history I recommend getting a new teacher.
Very passive and boring lectures
I thoroughly enjoyed his class he is great and very talkative if you answer questions and do extra credit you'll pass.
He talks so much and goes off topic. If you want a boring class and a professor who doesn't teach anything then this is the class for you. All of the answers were on quizlet, and there were comprehensive essays too. He offers extra credit. I dreaded going to this class because f how boring it was.. He is a nice person but....
He is ridiculous. Does not stay on subject. Only gives tests. Does not go over anything on the tests. If you like to read and summarize then this class is perfect for you. Does not take attendance.
1. Lectures 20% material 80% personal stories (this prof will be off topic majority of the class) Guaranteed. 2. Oblivious to who his students are
I had to take both World History classes and took Mr. Field for each. I really really needed to get these out of the way for Education degree. He helped out with the extra credit, but I think I would have gotten an A anyways. I don't like working on a 10 page paper, but I did learn from it!
He covers lots of stuff, but I could understnd it all because he makes it all interesting. I usually don't like history, but he made me take an interest. He let me bring my two kids to class when I was out a babysitter, he seems to do anything to help you get through the coarse, even bring your kids if you have to
Took Mr. Fields last year for world 2, like him, smart guy, so came back for world 1. I did it to save money instead of taking it at A&M. Professors at PAC are great. Only guy I know who adopted a highway, lets us pick up trash and get points. Have to complete a long paper, but he lets us pick a subject to work with.
Great lecturing, very knowledgeable. I don't always agree with hs politics though. Like the different way presents on screen. He helped me out when grade not so good.
I took Mr. Fields Cause needed this class at four school, but cheaper here. Liked his world 2 so came back to his world 2. He is not so patient with lazies, but ok by me.
A girl in class was saying we should rate him on this page. We took him for the other part and so took Mr. Field again since we know him and like his ways. I needed the extra credit and he let us use it to up our grade. I had some trouble with the writing, but the extra credit always fixed it. He made roll a rule, but didn't cut me for missing.
Since I had to pass the World II for my major I took Mr. Field. In the World class he taught kind of different from the American I took with him. We went to museums through the semester to see objects from times that we studied. I liked that, even though it was a pain getting to places downtown. I enjoy his lessons, he has knowledge.
I think this was my favorite class, though I'm not always a history person. I did well because I enjoyed going to hear the lecture. He knows that stuff and gets some of us involved. He makes us write more than I want, but he grades by giving lots of breaks.
Where to start! I love this guy's lectures and his crazy politics. Professor sure gets some students class upset! I neede that extra credit to get an a iN the class, so I did like that part of his deal most of all. I wil catch him again in the first part if they let me.
Professor Fields brought me along, kinda got me to like history, and Ieven did ptrtty well. He never forced dates and like that on us, but made his lecture a living story. I don't want to write papers, but atleast he helped me get it done and a smoking grade. Wish I had take him for first part.
I talked to another student about the Professor. We both figure the best thing he id for our time was give us a chance to makeup some slipped up days with extra credit. The Professor was good with his lecturing, but I really like getting a break because I can't make every class. He gives us time to get the tests done online, thank goodness.
Talks about the lecture but you hardly know what he's talking about. I used his class time to do other homework or catch up on my Hulu shows. Legit just show up and do the tests. don't even need to read the chapters just look for the answers in the book. Pretty much go in order. 5 page essay due at the end of the semester.
The difficulty with describing such a professor is the lengthy list of good things to say with so little space given here. Briefly, Mr. Fields is interesting, well informed, and truly loves his discipline. He was very helpful to me outside class when I need recommendations. He is genuinely caring, a great asset.
My Sister took Professor Field and got me to take his class. We will take his other American class to complete our Ameircan History requirement. He was very interesting and helped me with understanding and also writing about History. He brings up todays issues, and some politics. He wants us to talk back, or even argue. I enjoy that.
The adviser said I need World History for my degree so I took Professor Field. I'm so glad I did, learned plenty! He was always interesting, and he helped me with the work, walked me to the A . I appreciate his way of instructing and having us work out answers in class, though I know some don't like that!
Tough semester, only third here at Palo Alto. Like some, dislike some. Like Prof Fields lots. Let me do work outide class, job took some days away. Outstanding lecture giver, got plenty from the class. Wish I had registered w/ Prof Field for other course took last year.
He's great. Finally got a Prof' I can agree with on politics, too. I want to take him again if I can get into a World he teaches. Mr. Field is sort of quirky, but a good teacher and actaully helped me out on a couple of low grades.
I love the chili thing. OK, he should get that chili!
Ha ha! I can try to be specific, but that's hard with Professor Fields. He's kinda all over, but I sure do like his style whatever that is. He does insult some students when they don't get with it, but that's funny to me. Wish I had him in 1301.
Awful teacher, super opinionated, not understanding, but easy to pass. I was only able to turn in 1/2 of my final (my essay file went into outer space) but still made a C.
Love this guy!
Interesting, engaging. Had to get this class out of the way to complete degree. Mr. Fields made this a good experience. Glad I took his class.
Mr. Fields is an interesting prof, though he gets a little strange with politics. I like the main paper assignment, got me to read a A BOOK, yeah! I idid pretty good with it, too.
I didn't think I was going to like the class, but Mr. Field made this subject better and more tolerable than I figured it would be. I actually got to liking the classes. Mr. Field was ok with the grading, but he pulled stuff from his lectures, so had to keep up with what he was saying. Funny how he tried to get me to talk, and I did!
Thank you Mr. Fields! Finally a course I could sit through and use my head. I needed that "back and foith" (even if our chats irritated the other students). I still say you need to include more about women's history, but you didn't stop me form prying, so that's ok! I wish I had taken Mr. Fields for the first part.
Very rude teacher. Insults students in class then wonders why no one wants show up. I appreciate when teachers get off subject, but he spent 30 minutes of one lecture talking about his motorcycle when we had a test the next week. Will claim he said stuff in class that he never said. He offers extra credit though. We never even used the book.
I liked Professor's way of teaching, but even though he said we had to attend he didn't really seem to keep a roll much. I wish I had been in a smaller class with him, always lots of people being distracting. He was a great lecture giver and I really started to like history after a while. I hope to get him again for World I since I need it too.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Mr. Fields!!!
Appreciated!!! I dropped my last Texas History at SAC, came here to try Mr. Fields cause I had him in 1301. He is the best! Let me turn in extra credit so I could get a decent grade. I wouldn't take anyone else for this class.
Fields is a good teacher, learned a lot . I had another history class with plenty of dates on the board, but he even said "no dates," we are gonna think about people. I needed this for a really aggravating semester I had. Fields was a break for me. I had to miss cause of work, he really cut me some slack.
Been needing this class, hated doing it again cause took it before. Fields made it work for me, got me interested. I'm going to get good grades if class keeps going with quizzes and tests like so far. He let me do extra to raise it. Very glad I'm in Fields class.
Gotta say I find his politics funny. Not many conservative sorts among my teachers here, but enjoy his views. Ties his stuff into all things world. Lets anyone else give a veiw. I need this class, didn't want to take it till now, but getting lots from it.
1. Extra credit. 2. gives a break on the grade, let me convince him of higher grade 3. knew I worked, didn't go crazy when I had to miss World.
He was very rude and disrespectful to students. His wife would call during class and hed hang up on her and then insult her to the class. All he does is talk the entire time so you dont really need to pay attention in class. Mostly everyone is on their phone during class.
Where to begin... professor Field is very interesting. Halfway through the semester, I realized I didn't have to go to class and I would still be able to pass. There are 3 major assignments and they're all very easy. You grade your own tests. Doesn't use canvas to upload grades so make sure you take note of them if you want to know where you stand.
I got to use Mr. Feild's xtra credit score choices to actually pass this class. I must complete both History classes and he teaches well plus let me do some things to get my grade up. I had to drop this course before, so I'll take him for the second part and get history behind me.
Professor Field covered lots of stuff, was interesting. He did make dry jokes to students coming in late and leaving early, could be insulting, but made me kinda laugh. I wasn't sure about his term paper but he helped me in his office, kinda got him to maybe almost do it for me. Was glad I took his class, got good grade what counts most to me.
hes an amazing man he dont give tough work at all, he asks for the text books but dwe dont need them. He is grumpy but nice. This is by far the easiest history class that i had to take. I really recommend you to take him. He gives easy work, and he dont really ask for too much.
Professor Fields knows his Texas things. I tried to take this course before at SAC, teacher was mean grader so dropped. Fields gave me some breaks and I actually enjoyed his course, learned lots abbout San Antonio also. Fields got couple of students upset, they always get late and he raked them coming in. Funny to me.I got good grade, great prof
Good guy, lose with the attendance, but that was good for me and work. I don't normally like those night classes, but he kept things moving. He has weird ideas, but I liked his teaching, though some guys hated him making us read lots. I needed the reading to get it, so all good.
Thank goodness for PAC! I had to go over to St. Philips, then SAC to do my degreestuff. I had to drop those history classes cause had to take the first part. Already had second part. Mr. Fields got me through this, he gives such breaks if you just do his work. Even lets me argue with him over the other modern day stuff. PAC prof's good people.
Field would always get off topic and would never finish his lectures. He would point out certain students for leaving early during his lecture and talk about them as soon as they left. When it was time to turn in the tests, he would give students attitude for missing one part of the quiz. If I was given the choice to take him again, I would not.
Worst experience. Im only 3 weeks in and regret it. He gets off topic the entire lecture. He has belittled women but blames it on other students because they brought it up. Always talks about his political view and has made it clear to EVERYONE he is a Trump supporter. I tried to express when I was uncomfortable he told me well I dont care
Thank you Mr. Fields! I didn't pass this class at my other college. The extra credit got me a high grade. Great class.
Personable and knows his material.
Professor Fields is very active for sure. He moves all around the chairs and I know guys in here hate that, but I like it, keeps me focused. I will win a good grade in this one I think since I'm following Fields and his lectures. Wish he wouldn't put up so much to read, but that's college I guess. I will take him again for the second history.
I felt quite challenged in Mr. Fileds class. I didnt particularly like the first part of World, but I liked Mr. Fiields approach and wish I had had him for the first part. He ties the material together and the research assignment was. A real benefit to me.
Genuinely enjoyed the class until the final. I asked him a question about the final and he told me we did not have to do a particular part of that final. On the day I had to turn it in, he said that we did have to do that portion. I tried to show him our messages on canvas but he did not listen and was very rude and disrespectful about it.
What keeps me from giving him a 5 is that he constantly goes off topic from his lectures. He gives a hand full of quizzes and exams for his course along with a 5 page book report. He gives alot of extra credit that he applies to the final. But be warned hes a no nonsense type of professor.
He doesn't make us do any assignments but there are tests that he'll randomly make people take. He goes off topic a lot and talks way too much. He's very blunt and doesn't care what people think. Like how he has mention he is a Trump supporter. And you can be watching a movie and he wouldn't notice. What counts is the 5 page essay at the end.
Thank you Mr. Fields. The extra credit Mr. Fields allows gave me a real chance for a high grade. He helped me with the paper, told me how I could get an A with redo. I took this course at SAC twice. But here did better than pass, got the A. Thanks again Mr. Fields!
Mr. Field is a caring professor. I signed up with him for HIST1301-1302. I made an A both times I took his course. He expects you to read the chapters and articles he posts. He then goes over the information he wants you to retain. He lets you do extra credit papers (as many as you want) and is accomodating. He is great and understands.
I appreciate getting thorough this at Palo Alto with Mr. Fields. Couldn't quite get it right last two tries at tother college. Thanks for the extra creditMr. Fields.
Three things: Firstly Fields let me make up assignments with extra credit because I had to work and miss the night class. Secondly he gave lots of warning on the quiz and time to those done so work was ok that way too. Thirdly that final was only on the last gobs read for the the class so Fields test didn't wipe me out.
No PowerPoint at for lectures No assignments or homework Class is always lost OFF TRACK ALL THE TIME!! Does not teach anyone anything, he gets all hurt when we have a question or are confused of something. He responds so ugly if you ask a question THE CLASS WAS ALWAYS LOST!! TRUST ME AND SAVE YOURSELF, I REGRET NOT LEAVING HIS CLASS. (WASTE)
Mr. Field is a great teacher!
He just is horrible all he ever does is give lectures and then eventually will go off topic all we ever did was watch videos no hw we rarely got quizzes like was it an easy class but also never cared about attendance you can literally just not show up after the first week but is also rude to students when asked a question regarding an assignment
