A great teacher. He knows his stuff, and has many references to back it up. He makes his classes interesting and there is a lot of participation from students. There are no tests (only 2 quizzes that are a small portion of overall grade), but the notebook portion is very time consuming, so don't procrastinate!

Take this guy's classes if you need ANY Psych courses - you won't regret it. He's a super teacher and you will enjoy going to his class - but you MUST go to class. Peole may say he's an easy "A", but you will definitely work for your grade. DON'T fall behind in the readings or notebook stuff and participate in class - it ALL counts in the end!

This professor has a unique and dynamic approach to teaching. My interest was held through the whole semester. He sets people up to succeed by presenting the material in a variety of ways so we would understand concepts, not just definitions, and by providing opportunities for extra credit. I'd gladly take a course taught by this professor again.

This professor is awesome! He enjoys the subject he teaches, is always engaging and clarified, and makes coming to class fun. I had no interest in psych when taking this class and he's awakened broader perspectives for me. Just stay on top of your attendance and notebook and you'll be fine!

People will scare you with his requirements. Aslong as you know the difference between an analysis, and a summary, YOU'RE GETTING AN A. Its an easy class. He doesn't teach from the textbook, but if you outline the chapters, you'll be ahead in class. Work on a schedule to fill out your notebook, and you're going to get an A. He's great.

D/T my family history, I was nervous about taking this class, although it is a prerequisite required for nursing. Rex made the class fun & was easy to follow his curriculum, he also was very quick about returning email questions.He is a great teacher!

What could have been a hellish course for an Engineering major such as myself was made into quite the enjoyable experience with Rex. I learned a great deal from his class and can apply it to other classes in my major. If you don't like showing up to class, you won't be successful with Rex (as you shouldn't be if you're lazy). Rex is extremely dedicated to his students and comes to class prepared with many outside references. He's fair and will grade you based on your effort. So if you're lazy RUN!!! But if you enjoy Psychology and want to learn something by all means, this is your class!

As an international student I was a little skittish of taking a course of this level, but Professor Johnson made this class fun and easy to understand, with his interesting activities and his enthusiasm for the material. I absolutely love Rex. His philosophy in life is that life is not black in white, but life is gray. And that is how he runs his grading system and classroom. He is incredibly intelligent, and is an amazing critical thinker. He is very fair, and the notebook exams he gives really allows anyone to get a fabulous grade. Pick him !

There are no midterms or final exams... All you have to do is hand in notes from the textbook and class notes twice during the semester. It was an easy A!

Never have I ever had to outline an entire textbook [for a grade] for any class in my collegiate career. Abnormal psychology has the potential to be an interesting course but I felt like the graded assignments were lackluster. Stop reading excerpts and showing movies during a night class zzZzz. Be more creative in your teaching/assignments.

Very informative however I had difficulty staying focused due to his lack of structure in his presentation.

The easiest class I've ever taken, hands down. You come to class and you get points for attending. You never have tests and the only time you get a quiz is after you hand in your notebooks. The notebooks are the worst part, make sure you give yourself a week to do them, or else you'll be up all night. He's a great teacher and loves what he teaches.

I had a very difficult time in my personal life this semester and Rex was extremely helpful, caring, and understanding. He worked with me to make sure I got my work done and helped me when I needed it. He is one of the best professors I've had in college, and I would recommend his class to anyone. Rex takes psychology out of the textbook and applies it to real life. Through discussion, experiments and demonstrations you can actually see psych in practice. Go to class, take notes and join the discussion if you want to do well. This is a class that allows you to be yourself with a teacher that encourages open discussion. Great class, take it.

Professor Rex is awesome! Very understanding if you have to miss class just email him and let him know. The only hard thing about the class is the notes for your textbook. You have to take notes on certain chapters and hand the notebook in. Each chapter notes only have to be three pages. So simple!! Loved him and this class highly recommend him!

His PSY 140 course is interesting, engaging, and highly practical - in other words, it feels like we're learning things that actually matter in our personal lives (memory, sleep, happiness, etc.).

Rex was by far my favorite professor this far. He really cared about you doing well and he went out of his way to really help. His class is great because he goes over EVERYTHING and as long as you go to class and do your work youll do great! Take his class!

Professor Rex was an amazing teacher. As long as you show up and do the homework (which is just basically copying from the textbook) you will pass his class. His quizzes contain only 5 questions and 1 or 2 bonus questions, and if you pay attention in class youll get them right! Extra Credit is always available and he sends them through emails.

You could say Professor Rex is by far one of the most inspirational, thoughtful, careing and entertaining professors in all of dccc! He strives off of the stories and feedback each student has to offer and helps everyone to learn about each other and themselfs along the way! This man has only strengthened my motivation for academic success.

He makes you want to come to class, he is so hilarious and hands on with his lectures. If you listen, take notes, come everyday you will pass. He has a point system that's easy to follow and gives multiple choice quizzes. If you need help you can email, go to his office or talk to him after class. He makes time for his students, easy A .

One word for Mr. Rex, Awesome. He is a wonderful teacher and cares a lot of teaching psychology to his students. There is nothing one needs to stress over in regards of assignments. A few quizzes and there was no test for our class. Just take the notes everyday because there a Day and Textbook notes due which he grades on.

R. Johnson teaching method is rally good. While giving lecture he connects everythings with good example which makes lecture more understandable

Great, great professor!! Very accessible outside of class and is genuinely helpful. Gives a LOT of extra credit, quizzes are fair, and has a clear grading criteria. Responds to emails within a couple hours. He sends a thorough email after each class which explains what we covered that day and what to expect next class, so it's really helpful.

I had Rex this previous semester to take my first psychology class. He takes the time to get to know everyone, provides lots of extra credit opportunities, and is a funny lecturer. The quizzes are not difficult and as long as you show up and get the textbook work done you will do well. He cares about his students and I enjoyed the class.

Rex is a great professor! He's very kind and makes every class interesting. Pretty funny too in my opinion. He also provides a lot of RAP (Random Access Points) via email that are basically extra credit options for you to undertake. I recommend taking advantage of them if he still uses them.

This was my first college course as a dual enrollment student, and Rex made me feel very welcome and was very supportive. He is very understanding and gives insightful feedback. There are also many extra credit opportunities you should take advantage of. He also grades very quickly, which I was appreciative of. Overall, I learned a lot.

Professor Rex lectures in person class and hybrid were both in great depth of work. I enjoyed watching and reading articles that would challenge me to proceed to wanted to research more on specific topics. He is so cool! He provides a bunch of assignments to do but they are pretty easy and don't take long at all! He gives his RAP and DTD points which are so easy to keep on top of! His lectures are so engaging and interesting too! I would take him again in a heart beat!!

Professor Rex not only gives valuable insight into psychology, but he actively engages with the class to make its teaching come to life. His class is both a learning environment, and at the same time a place to heal using said psychology. He is very insightful, and remembers each and every one of his students down to the last one.
