You have to give a lot of presentations. He's very critical of you if he doesn't like what you are doing. He makes the students lecture rather than giving the lectures himself.
Do you want to take up teaching one day? By all means take this class. Not that it's meant to be a teaching class, he'll just force the students to teach the class for him then quiz them on material that may or may not have been presented appropriately. If you're not planning on teaching, definitely avoid him like the plague.
He makes students present the lectures in groups. Very critical grader of the student presented material. He sits back and does literally nothing during classes. His exam is taken from the book, you have to read the book however nothing will prepare you for how incredibly difficult he makes his exam. 50 questions of : select all that apply....
Make sure you know to use photoshop if you take his CAP3104 class. You have to create app using photoshop and your app better be the most original thing that nobody ever thought of because if not you will get points taken off.
This professor does not care. He will not look over any work. If the system SAM says you got a zero it stays. Tried to figure out why I got a zero on one of his assignments and he didnt care.
He is not that bad. Just kinda unorganized since this us his first time teaching this class
Heavy emphasis on group projects, and your contribution to them. Attendance determines if you receive credit for the rest of the class' work. Test averages were lower than they should be, and no curves were given. My overall 79.9% is a C.
Wanted students to teach themselves with 30+ min presentations; changed after complaints. On phone during presentations; harsh criticisms for vague assignments. Leaves after explaining assignment for day. Class is supposed to be 3 hours. You lose 2 letter grades for 3+ absences. Hard exams. Deflects all course criticisms. Uncaring.
The worst professor I have ever had the displeasure of seeing on a weekly basis. Teaches by leaving a 3 hour class after just one hour of presenting a brief powerpoint. Provides no learning materials outside of read the book. Grades very subjectively and harshly. Tests are hard considering the lack of teaching/resources. Volatile class. Unusable.
Attendance matters when group work is done. He doesnt care the reason why you miss. 3 hour class when we have group work he leaves after 30 mins and lets his TA do his work. The first day of presentations 4 groups presented and he was so harsh. Likes to say copyright, unorthodox, unusable. Loves to be on the phone. Create an app
Take this teacher!! All assignments open on first day, finished the class within a month and half. Easy A!! :)
You only have around 10 assignments for the entire semester which are open from day one. You can easily finish this class in one week because the assignments are so easy. You just do projects on Microsoft applications. Only attended lecture once and passed with an A.
horrible teacher
good prof
Deadlines really matter. However, talk to him before the deadline and he makes it happen.
Loved his style. Group work is the main focus. Good presentation matters.
Easygoing and helpful by email.
I like that everything is open from day 1 and you can work at your own pace. Good teacher.
Caring and nice. I will certainly take him again.
The course only has one big project that you basically do during the semester. The teacher caring and helps you during the way. It was a great experience.
Good teacher. He's fast at responding to emails and requests.
Good prof.
I like his quick answers to emails. Most times, under an hour.
he makes you work for it. I like the way he handles it though.
Good prof. Clear expectations. Good practice before the project begins
I had the course on the summer and didn't expect it to be so easy. He made everything open from day 1. Just finished it in 3 weeks and done!
Awesome
Nice professor, fast and good feedback, no mandatory classes, approachable
The webcourses course shell was clear and he was very fast in answering emails. An easy A.
Even though I was in the online section, there was an open lab that I could go to if I needed in-person help. The prof was caring and fast in responding to emails.
easiest A I've ever got. everything was clear and straightforward and assignments were open from day 1. got them done in less than a week and got my grade. will certainly take with this guy again.
Liked the reminders. No mandatory classes. easy assignments.
Learned a lot working directly with a real client. The teacher was supportive and understanding.
Nice teacher
Contact him before the deadline, he will help. He's a bit strict though
Love his approach. His firm by kind, and he knows what he's doing.
Good prof. Easygoing. Quick email response.
Very helpful and understanding
Clear grading criteria. He opens up all assignments from day 1. Helpful comments
Love his style. He is clear, helpful and professional.
He is clear, precise and respectful.
I have finished everything even before the midterms. Best class ever!!!
Helpful and understanding teacher
Strict about deadlines, but helpful if you approach before those set deadlines
The best professor ever!
Good looking, nice, professional. Will certainly take any course he has in the future...
All the assignments open on the first day of class but have specific deadlines. The biggest problem I met was some Microsoft office functions couldn't use in MacBook. Others than that, if you are familiar with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, and follow the instructions, you'll be fine. Each assignment has three attempts.
He is really helpful and caring. I had a serious problem that TAs couldn't resolve. I took an appointment and went to his office. He kindly spent about 3 hours himself to resolve my problem, even though it was at my end. By the way, he's super fast in responding to emails.
Very knowledgeable and helpful teacher. He will pair you up with a client in the industry to do a REAL project. He helps you achieve your goals and meanwhile, learn. He meets with you any time if you need help. Just passed with an A.
CGS2100C is a complete joke. There's just ten assignments that you can all do starting the semester, so you can finish the class is a day or two to get it off your plate. Make sure you know what's graded or not, I did a ton of ungraded assignments for no reason because I didn't know what was and wasn't graded.
This class is easy - if you do your work. I forgot to complete a project (assignment) and I couldn't raise my grade to an A albeit having A's in the other assignments. So, if you have solid discipline, can turn things in on time, and are good with Microsoft Office - this class will be a piece of pie.
Great teacher, no final exam, there was help available in the open lab. Overall, great experience.
No exam, just project. Loved working with an outside client. You will learn discipline and teamwork by taking this course. The professor was awesome
Dr Reza Aria truly does not care about you. Regardless of the situation, he will immediately turn to the syllabus and just deflect any concerns you may have for any reason at all. Furthermore, if you try to question any concerns or find any loopholes in the Syllabus he will also deflect that with, Its common sense. He replies fast though.
The most effective learning experience I have ever had... our team worked directly with an outside client and we talked to the professor during the course of the project... the professor was caring and knowledgeable. Would certainly recommend this professor.
Easy assignments (about 2 hours at max), no final exam. Professor replies very fast. He is strict about deadlines, but will help you out if you approach him before the deadline.
Easy course, good prof, would definitely take again
The prof seems to be friendly, but he is strict about his deadlines. I had a problem and talked to him before the deadline, he cared. I'm not sure how it turns out. Not his fault though...
Like the prof and how easy the course is...
Easiest class you'll ever take. Took it online and completed the whole course in 3 days.
More of a challenge against the system rather than the teacher. All the teacher does is transfer the grades from the system to the gradebook. Lots of homework along with teaching yourself with the system providing mediocre videos. Not hard at all just do not slack for each homework is a mini project grade. I got a B because of it. Overall, easy A.
Good computer fundamentals for business class. It was online and this course you really taught yourself there weren't any lectures or things to read. You just should look in the textbook online to see what you're doing but the rest is all Microsoft Office things we already know. There were 4 larger tests with 100 questions and multiple attempts.
Straightforward and easy. Good feedback from the prof. He is really fast! You may get an easy A if you don't miss the deadlines
If you can get another professor DO SO!! Read the negative reviews, that was my same experience. If you have a family emergency, DOCUMENTED COMPUTER ISSUE DURING CORONAVIRUS, or literally anything else he will not help you ever. Left me in tears over something literally out of my control. Ignored my emails until after the grade, on purpose.
I have never put so much work into any class. If you miss one deadline or make a simple mistake you can and will take a severe grade hit. If you have a legitimate issue with the software, he will not working for you, because of his perfect gut feeling.
Best prof ever. Easy subject, flexible hours, about 17 assignments that were open from day 1 and very easy to get an A
Understanding and helpful, but fair teacher. I will definitely suggest to take the course
Its a course that you need to work yourself, but the prof is there just as a support. He is good though. He wants to be fair to everyone. It was a good experience overall
the most straightforward course ever. Clear criteria, and all assignments were open from the first day of class. Would certainly recommend
The prof is alright, but the course is online and you need to work it yourself. He will support though, if you have an issue
awesome professor. By the way this semester he gave everyone extra credit for COVID-19. My B has become an A now...
honestly, he wasn't bad, he wasn't good either. Just regular. He helped me once, but was strict about those deadlines which I get.
His CGS class is very easy. All the assignments are open from day 1 so you can complete the class as fast as you want and all the other assignments are either basically vocab quizzes or word, PowerPoint, Excel, and access assignments which are easy. The man only lectured twice and there was a lab where you just did work on your own. Very good class
Being a first year college student, I didn't have any difficulty understand what was required. Everything was straightforward and very easy. There were 17 graded assignments including 3 concept exams and 14 ms office assignments. None of those assignments took me something about 1.5-2 hours max. He was very fast responding to my emails.
Really good professor and easy class. There are no lectures in the class except two at the begging of the year. The labs are mandatory but you can leave right after attendance. The assignments and tests are very easy and you have 3 attempts at everything (tests included). No final. Take this class and don't think twice
This is the prof I would get all my courses with.... Firm, but understanding of your situation... best experience ever...
Took this class online and it was a pretty easy A. You just learn Office programs and tech/business terms. At first, figuring out all the programs by myself in order to do the assignments, as well as what exactly was due every week was a bit confusing, but a TA helped me via email and from then on it was straight forward. Take this class!
Good teacher, organized course, support available through open lab
Its a dry technology course. You must work on your own, but there are TAs there if you need help, and also the teacher will help if those TAs can't help you. I think it was a good class, totally. The teacher was helpful and understanding with the issue (personal) I had, but I had to produce documentation first. Also, due to COVID-19 he bell-curved.
Great
Good teacher. Even though the class was fully online, he has made the effort to have a non-mandatory orientation and left a copy of the video for everyone to watch. Also, I love the concept of virtual open lab. It's makes everyone's life easy. There's always someone there and you can just show up and get your questions answered.
Very clear grading structure, organized material, and there are many reminders that wouldn't let you forget about your assignments. Mon-Fri 8am-8pm open lab to help the students, which is great.
Understanding and professional. He's the real deal.
Terrible teacher does not care about students and is not understanding at all.
A little over 10 graded assignments. Beware of the 50 question exams. They are extremely frustrating and time consuming. Lets you know when there are things due up to 48 hours in advance. A tedious class that was a waste of time.
Dr. Aria was a nice professor and sent out reminders to complete assignments. This class was not hard at all and is an easy A if you complete the assignments. -
Attendance is mandatory, however will provide incorrect zoom links and still mark you off (which leads to a overall 10% decrease in grade). Otherwise, class overall is a joke, just make sure you can find yourself a "client" to create a website for (he wants you to do it for free, but unpaid internships are wrong so take that how you will).
The best hands on class ever! you get to work with an outside client which not only teaches you how the industry work, but also gives you a valid project to put on your resume and also real people as your reference. No exam, test, or textbook is needed. The class attendance is mandatory though, but worth only 10%.
He expected us to create fully functional and professional websites for actual business. You can only use free platforms or completely program it. The thing is he does not talk about technologies for developing websites or practices for good UX's. There were multiple presentations and we HAD to grade and provide feedback on all 15 groups.
Didn't really interact with Prof Aria at all, was very confusing at the beginning because our class disappeared and he had to zoom call us to explain everything, most assignments aren't graded (4 assigned, 1 graded per week) honestly just make a group chat to hang out and make friends and learn a little bit about office 365 and you're golden.
Easy class, only like 15 graded assignments and the rest are trainings to prepare you for the graded stuff. Never really interacted w/ the professor but he always sends out weekly reminders which is nice. The beginning of the semester was a bit confusing but overall the class is an easy A. Only like 1-2 graded things a week and there's a lab
I was expecting a lot more from this course since the professor had great reviews on rate my profess. I was greatly disappointed. I was expecting to learn more on how to do HTML properly, design patterns, research on how to make good UI, & best practice. what I got was only 5 lectures of the whole semester. what he taught was generic & not useful.
Mandatory attendance or lose 10% of your grade. Will be very vague with descriptions, then insult both you and your client if you don't impress his standards (meanwhile lookup his personal website, doesn't even have basic security). Does not teach anything in the class, just expects you to do. Waste of time, both for an easy A and to learn.
semester is just building a website. You can literally use wordpress or weebly. He doesn't even teach you the first thing about making or designing a website. Then he did checkups with the entire class and said everyone's website was a 2005 website and that it was ugly and that we need to try to make our websites look industry leading webpages
Not a lot of assignments that are graded but there are lots of practice assignments and non graded work (which is optional). The material is easily understandable. And the entire course is available at the beginning of the semester so you can finish ahead of time.
Pointless lectures, hes teaching UX websirte design but his own website is terrible. Will Ignore your emails if you don't send him 2-3 letting him know you need a response, what a joke
The best prof ever. Strict on his deadlines but understanding and helpful
Nice teacher, clear guidelines and instructions, No major exams., only one or two graded assignments per week... super easy to pass with an A
Just one word: Awesome!!!
Great hands-on class. Not your usual "read this book and pass the exam" course. The prof teaches you how to deal with an outside client, which is great.
good teacher, no text book (just slides), group project with an outside client. loved the user study part of the course. it gives you good insight about what users ready think
about 15 graded assignments, the rest are just for practice. easiest course ever.
At first got a bit surprised cause I thought its a web development course. The course is about what Client and Users think about your work. Great to understand how to work with Users and Clients in real world. Good Prof.
A bit more than 10 graded assignments, the prof gives you many reminders about the due dates, easy projects, a bit time consuming on the book side
You are supposed to make a website for a real business, also the grading is based on peers feedback (you are grading all the teams), you can use any technology that you like, the only restriction is that you can't use paid platforms. Overall a good experience that you need to enter the real world.
He doesn't accept late submissions. Gives you plenty of reminders though. The course was not bad, but I needed more of a web development instruction rather than just UX.
Easy A, instead of a final exam there are a few assignments that you do each week. There is an online lab that you can get help anytime you like.
One of the most useful courses and one of the best professors... You will actually learn something from this class that no ordinary course would teach you! You will learn how to work with real clients, how to deal with time pressure (hands on), etc. He's awesome!
This class teaches you the basics of how to use Microsoft. There is only about 10 assignments that are available to work on from the first day of class allowing you to finish early. The answers and hints as to how to complete projects and exams are online for the most part. Also, you get three attempts on projects and exams.
This is the type of class you would need to become competent in these rough times. He teaches you how to organize yourself, keep your communication going with both teammates and the client (and this is a real client from the industry) and finally be responsible and responsive. Definitely take his courses again!
Easy busy work honestly. Dont know much about the prof bc its online but the class itself is easy. Lots of work most is not mandatory and mandatory tests and assignments are fairly easy. definitely an easy A. you can basically look up how to do everything. Only thing is assignments can be really long so dont wait until last minute.
Prof didn't explain the course well at all during the only zoom of the semester, which left everyone confused. I finished the class in less than a week to avoid the incredibly expensive textbook cost, it's easy but it takes time. Don't wait until the last minute because some assignments take a long time. Easy A, but I hated the class.
This professor is simply unwilling to help during any technical difficulties. I had an exam online and the external tool used for it shut down half way through and when I contacted him just to let him know what had happened, he was extremely rude in his response and essentially said that it is not his problem.
easy class pretty straight forward, only like 15 graded assignments and u get 3 tries on each assignment, super easy too and actually does something for ur life LOL
Super useful material. Easy course. Helpful professor, strict about his deadlines though. I would certainly suggest to take the course though if you really wanna learn something that helps you in the long run
Good course and fair prof. He doesn't accept late assignments, but gives plenty of reminders.
Didn't like his attitude of rejecting to accept late assignments. In general not a bad course.
Good class, good prof, good grade
Good professor, very good course, strict deadlines, usually plenty of reminders for assignments and deadlines, useful material
Took CGS 2100C for fall and finished the entire class at the end of October. There are 3 tests about IT/project management, and tests and online assignments for the Microsoft products (word, excel, PowerPoint, Access). Took fully online and there were no meetings. Sent tons of reminders for deadlines. Great class!!
Great prof. Great class. You would get to work on a real project for a real client.
The professor is a kind guy and works with you before the deadlines, and gives you plenty of reminders before each. However, he sticks to his deadlines. The course is easy and useful though. Good in general. I would recommend taking his class.
Course is super easy, I finished about a month early, and it is mainly self guided. As long as you stay on top of deadlines you'll do just fine in the course.
You're only graded on exams and a few graded assignments. There's much more work given, but it's all optional and not graded. You NEED the textbook, and you must take diligent notes on everything. The assignments and tests are auto-graded by computer AI (also tells you what you did wrong). Did not *once* speak with the professor.
His lectures were good, but he is just so unorganized. He showed up over an hour late for one of the classes where we needed to present something and still expected everyone to be there. Sometimes his grading criteria was unclear as well.
Awesome guy. Helpful when you need him. Responsive and quick.
Loved his class. Very useful. Caring and understanding.
You have the option to attend labs where you don't really do anything, or you can use the zoom option. The workload is pretty easy. Make sure to use the textbook when doing the concept assignments.
Very straight to the point class. Only 15 assignments that are relatively easy. Teacher is also good at responding to emails! Easy class for sure
Professor Aria was very nice in class but he was not very well organized. Attendance was required but after a few classes he never brought in the attendance sheet anymore. He showed up an hour late to class and wanted everybody to still be there like nothing happened. He barely apologized for it as well.
Never saw or heard from the professor but the class was very easy, and they are really easy as a professor. But don't expect to ever hear from them.
It's a huge class so not much interaction with the professor and most of it is online. Super easy though, most of the work is not for a grade and the basic Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access skills are already known by most people. Beware of the Concepts Assessments just because they take a long time, but they are open book so not difficult.
Awesome Professor, useful lectures, real projects with real clients, all and all great
Very easygoing professor, tough on his deadlines though. You need to talk to him before the deadlines if you have any problem and he takes care of you. Respected man.
He showed up in class late once, but the class was great. In general, he's a caring teacher. It was a good experience for me and would take his class again.
Cool and caring. Keeps reminding you about the deadlines and supports you if you approach him before the deadlines. Strick on the deadlines though, which I don't like. Good overall.
Grt ready to do the work, a lot of reasing and training. There are about 13 graded assignments with strict deadlines. He gives plenty of reminders though. Overall, the class is very good.
About 13 assignments and fairly easy. Great professor, very quick responses to emails. Definitely be an easy A.
Several assignments but the software program walked through them quite well. If you have basic microsoft skills, you will do just fine
In this class, you and your team will have to find a client and build them a website using WordPress. You will only be graded by peer reviews, client reviews, the final website, and several documentations you will write. Aria is a very lenient grader and as long as you stick to this rubric and give the client a website they like you will get an A.
Overall, simple class. The professor does not teach at all. However, the assignments are straightforward and there is no need for lectures. Good class to get basic understanding of PowerPoint, Excel, and word. Gives deadline reminders. All have 3 attempts. There are 100 question concept assessments which are extremely superfluous and laborious.
Teacher does not care about your grade and wont do anything to help you out. Little to no information on how to do the graded assignments. all tests and quizzes are 50-100 questions and take hours to complete. This class is an easy A but takes hours of work for assignments. Class is not worth it unless you understand word, excel, and powerpoint.
Terrible. Does not care about you or your grade. Doesn't allow emails, only able to speak to his TA's. Exams took hours, HW took hours. All computer-graded and he doesn't accept any grade changes to assignments. I wouldn't take this class if you don't have to.
There were 15 graded assignments, organized into modules. The deadlines were final. Easy course. The Prof was helpful in clearing things up.
Be ready to spend 2 hours per week on the assignments, and your gonna get an A in this class. The professor was helpful. Plenty of reminders. Although the deadlines were final and he wouldn't let you retake them without a good excuse.
He's a very helpful guy if you go to him before the deadline. In my case, he actually called a few people to help me out and worked with me to take my assignment on time. Best prof ever!
Such an easy course, well organized and no final exam. Just a bunch of assignments. Great if you'd like an easy A.
If you want to cruise by, the class is an easy A as the entire class is online. However, the content taught is very practical and useful for life. You will get out of this class what you put into it. He is a nice guy and gives reminders before deadlines too.
Easy A. Do your work and get your grade. This is the easiest business course at UCF. Even a little background in Word, Powerpoint, and Excel is perfect. I forgot I was even taking this course at times its all literally all online. Make this your fifth class if you want. Attendance is not mandatory at all. Do your work, get the A, move on in life.
Such a great man, always smiling and willing to help. His the real deal. I learned so much from his class, while working with real clients in the industry. Great course too.
Great professor, well organized course 15 graded assignments, plenty of reminders, strict deadlines, easy A
Best professor. He's caring, funny and understanding (befote his deadlines). He's kinna strict on his deadlines though. He's ready to help you out with any issues you have. Effective classes in which you actually do something useful and if course, working with real clients helps a lot
Awesome prof. Useful material, great class. Simply perfect.
15 assignments, almost one every week. Good professor, considers your situation if you reach out before the deadline. He's strict on his deadlines though. In general, an easy A, yet very useful class.
Just great. Easy Course, fine teacher.
A very practical course. You must work with a real outside business for this course and no exam or test! Just design a good looking website and you get an A. The classes are very useful and the prof is a great one.
Lots of reading and hands-on work. The prof is good. He's strict on his deadlines but easy when you have a REAL excuse. The taught material is good though, you need it for anything you do even in other courses.
Great experience working with Reza, such knowledgeable prof. He personally helped our team through the rough times we had
I never went to lab, only do graded assignments. there are about 15 assignments so you have to do well on them to get a good grade but they are easy. She is strict on deadlines but releases everything at the beginning of the semester so you can finish the course in about 2 weeks if you wanted to. I honestly forgot I was taking the course.
Class was fully online with optional online lectures from student assistants. A lot of reading, book can be confusing. You cant really reach out to the professor unless its an emergency, he will tell you to reach out to someone else. If you are good with online classes or can keep yourself on track when doing classes then this class is fine.
You never see the professor this is basically an online class!! Also, if you try and reach out the professor is extremely rude and little to no help. The class is relatively easy if you like an online course, the TA's can sometimes help you, but often times they are left in the dark.
Since it's an online course, you don't really see the professor all that much. The half of the class dedicated to Microsoft software is fairly easy. The business half requires more attention and I had to take notes most of the time in order to do well. You also have to purchase the software to access the textbook and online assignments.
There are are 3 concept tests which are a little challenging, plus an exam on word, powerpoint, excel, and access along with projects for each one. Reading the textbooks and doing the activities are not required, but may be needed depending on your prior knowledge. Class time is optional to meet with a TA for help on anything.
This class was supposed to be in person lectures Monday and the rest online, but we were told not to come if we didn't want because the course was basically all online. Professor sent reminders before every assignment which was always on Fridays, usually every other Friday. Never communicated with professor, and no extra credit. Relatively easy.
Great course and professor. Its an online course though with optional in-person help. 15 graded assignments and TAs to help you all week long.
Great professor, awesome class. Worked with an outside client. An amazing experience!
Do NOT take this professor. Criteria is not clear and does not follow syllabus. He constantly contradicts himself and takes it out on your grade. He wanted to mark my group project incomplete because our website's free subscription ended and all work was gone. He lacks empathy and does not care about his students! Save yourself the headache!!!
If you're good with computers this is an extremely easy class, I however am not and struggled with the programs but still managed to get a B. Personally I'd rather have taken a math class but this is required for Art majors. There's projects, concept assessments, and exams that are graded. There are book readings but those aren't required.
Required the purchase of 2 separate textbooks. We didn't use one of the textbooks because the assignments assigned for that weren't even counted as a grade, not a participation grade so it was pointless. The second textbook is what will be used to give and grade your assignments. EVERYTHING GRADED BY COMPUTER. Dont take this class.
His lectures were useless. He just read the powerpoint slides presenting a bunch of really obvious information. You will learn basically nothing from the lectures. His grading criteria was very unclear and he would count off for a bunch of random things. Being forced to use Wordpress made designing the website annoying, most features cost money.
If you are not adept with computers do not take the online course. Aria might be a great in-person professor, but online all assignments were done through computer programs that were a bit pricy. The TA was only helpful on about half the assignments because she wasn't given much information. I was not impressed with the program or its practices.
The class is incredibly easy but requires a huge time commitment to do all the non graded work to get a good grade on the tests. I only showed up to the class the first day and was given zero instruction by the TA on how to access the different textbooks and assignments and didn't show up to another class day.
Great professor. Lectures were very useful and students worked together on the project. The project was a real world project from the industry.
I took the fully online section, yet everything was very organized and in-place. The Virtual Open Lab was great. Be prepared to allocated at least 3-4 hours per week for this course tho. Its time consuming.
The homework is quite simple. You practice skills in Microsoft (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.), then there is a project, and then an exam (this repeats 4 times). The exams are the most challenging but they are reasonable. Another instance of a professor that doesn't seem to be there. Never seen or heard him. Doesn't put out his own content.
I took the fully online course and honestly, it was awful. We are told to never contact the professor and everything is geared towards people who understand computers. If you are trying to fulfill a GE course, DO NOT take this class.
Great professor a useful coure. 10 out of 10
A lot of work but easy course. Caring professor.
Helpful and understanding, but get ready to work hard. In general, very good.
Great guy, useful course, lots of individual work. I'm glad that the course is setup this way though. You may go at your own pace. The prof is helful and understanding.
Interesting class set-up. I've never attended the lab time because I didn't have any questions for the TA's. Never met professor. Assignments are done online each week & some things like the readings and learning assignments aren't even mandatory. Unless you are a wizard at Microsoft, definitely do some of the assignments before tests. Class= okay
Caring man, kindda helpful but strict on the deadlines. Labs are useful, but don't have to attend (which is good).
Basically an online course, as there are no formal, mandatory lectures. Easy course work and more than half of it is not mandatory. All I can say is, don't get confused on what is mandatory and what isn't. Other than that it's an easy A.
Easy course. Not everything is for credit so just make sure you know which ones are. He gives lots of heads up. The practice assignments do help if you aren't proficient in Microsoft though. All of the assignments are online through two programs you have to pay for. Labs aren't mandatory only go if you have questions. I never went.
The whole course is open from the beginning. Absolutely no late work is accepted and he sends out hundreds of announcements every week to make sure. All deadlines are final. You're required to buy the textbook. Assignments are really easy but so tedious and long. No final. You get multiple tries on everything. I recommend for an easy online course
Dr. Aria is a great professor. Even though I took this class online, he made sure to provide tons of resources to help answer any of my questions. The assignments are relatively easy and not too difficult. Would definitely take this class again. Easy A.
Great professor, awesome course.
He's a great professor. A real caring one who actually help you learn usable stuff. No tests or exams.
This course is an easy A. BUT I was forced to take this course twice due to a contradicting syllabus from this professor. I completed all assignments - at syllabus instruction- via one drive cloud upload. Halfway through the course the Professor emails me saying no assignments have been done. Now, I know. The damage is too late.
Great Prof, great course. Lots of useful stuff.
I saw him once at the orientation and once in a 1-1 meeting. The course was online so it was ok. He is very helpful though and also give you many reminders and tips. In general, a great experience.
This Professor is all about practice. He doesn't care about tests or exams, but gives you projects to do. Knowledge and caring, but tough on the deadlines. In general, very much liked and recommended.
A very hands-off professor who runs the class via a third-party platform instead of their own assignments. That being said, they are decent at what they do, provide plenty of material, and have a clear grading system.
Others said what was supposed to be said. He's great. He listens to the students and cares!
I took CIS4524 online in the summer of 2023. The class is easy, there is both individual work and group work on a weekly basis. It's not difficult but more tedious. Just try and keep proper communication with your group and if they're not helping let the professor know ahead of time and he'll help you out. All in all an easy class just tedious.
Everything was said by everyone. He's a god prof with lots of great things to learn from. Very hands-on. Useful course.
Loved the course and the prof. He's the man!
This is more of a review of the class than the professor. This class was honestly the easiest A. The grade consisted of four Microsoft Office simulation exams and three concept assessments based on readings; all of these assignments offered three retakes. The professor made deadlines clear with three reminders per week as to what was due.
This professor is near nobexistiant, the class is easy as long as you do the assignments but there isn't even a reason for the professor. She cares little to respond to students, and refuses to round up a grade even if you're only .01 point away from a higher grade. I feel spiteful for making this but the professor wasn't exactly caring.
Class is basically all online with not much use of the professor. Most assignments are pretty easy and there are a lot that aren't even mandatory. All assignments open at the start of the semester and the professor makes it very clear when everything is due so is therefore strict about deadlines.
Quite literally seemed like there was no professor. I finished the class in October and haven't looked at it sense. Only went to class the first day and never went back. If you know anything about word, excel, and PowerPoint then you're going to get an A. SUPER EASY.
Take this class online. Easiest class I have ever done. Series of Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Access assessments. If you already know how to use Microsoft applications it's a breeze but if you don't it'll take some work but you'll actually learn a lot of useful tips. // 3 100 ? assessments // 8 1-2 hr projects // 4 1-2 hr tests // Goodluck!
Didn't know which textbook the class used, making me spend money on the wrong one. Way too many assignments w/ too many questions: Exams are 100, concept assessments 50. Very tedious, results in mindlessly completing them. Way too many textbook questions (60+). All for a GEP class. It's easy, just way too much. Good 24/7 office hours w TAs though.
I never did any of the work unless it was graded and I got a 94/95. Pay for SIMnet access, that's where all the work is turned in, and make sure you know what you're doing before you start tests/labs. I went into the room on the first day and did the rest from online. Notifies you of graded assignments 2 days and 1 day before they're due.
never talked to or met the professor the class was super easy I would have has an a but I forgot to take one test make sure to keep graded assignment dates in mind
This class was fairly easy due to Professor Aria's clear class outline in the syllabus! The only downside of this class is the platform used to take tests as it can be very difficult to use and get used to. There's homework every week, but she posts them days in advance so you can finish them before the deadline. I definitely recommend her class!
He is a good professor but does not interact with his students basically at all unless you absolutely need to. It's a very independent course.
Never got to know the professor. Very self-paced. Just make sure that you turn in your assignments in on time. I missed a few deadlines... That's on me. It is not exactly an easy class, but it's really not too bad. If I had to take it again, I would probably opt for an in-person option, but it was totally fine for a GEP credit.
Get ready for the best prof ever! Very practical and useful course. Learned a lot!
Very independent class - professor doesn't interact much, but the coursework is straightforward. Use unstuck ai alongside the textbook to ace the assessments.
