Lectured and tested heavily off his PPT slides (about 95%), which he makes available to the students. He know's his subject very well and is always willing to take your questions. Would recommend.
Very qualified, smart. Ignore his disorganization and he is a fantastic teacher. Answers qs, stays on subject, lectures from ppt, very helpful. Relates a lot of the info to medicine, great class for pre nursing students. Uses analogies to help students understand. Uses lots of visual aids. Stay for lab, study, and work hard...you'll do great!

Fantastic instructor. I highly suggest him. Ask him as many as questions you want to. Knows a lot! Very humorous and funny sometimes sarcastic though. Don’t be offended, probably he is joking! Read his pp. all questions come from them but not directly. You must know them very well
The guy is so disorganized!!! Yes, he may know what he is talking about but can you really understand him? Some of his test questions aren't very clear and he puts them in a medical context as if you are at higher medical education level. When you are taking this class for any other reason other than a medical degree this guy just confuses you.
He might be a little bit disorganized, probably due to the fact that he’s working too hard – he’s teaching too many classes at the same time. But he’s still a wonderful teacher. He knows the subject well, and his lectures are clear and informative. You can definitely understand him and do well in his class as long as you study hard. Moreover, he is
I took him summer school 2007 and it was a very intense class. He's test were very hard but I guess you just had to study his notes. The books were just there to understand it. I definitely recommend him because he's very cool but sometimes arrogant. But if you made effort, I guess he'll pass you. I'm just an average person.
always late 2 class, very disorganized in labs - have 2 call marawala's cell, wise prof but not helpful & discourages student 2 ask questions or 2 clarify topics, teaches 2 other schools & grouchy by the time he teaches his evening class, DOES NOT use the reqd $100+ txtbk @all, or marawala's flashcards. take his class if u just want to pass physio
Wow, awsome instructor. Helps alot, I really like him. He is hard but funny and full of humerous comments. Did I say he knows alot. take his class and learn. Study his PPs only. read them over and over. Do I take him again? hmmm Oh Ya
if you dont want to ruin your GPA dont take him, he is horrible and not organized at all. his lectures and tests dont match. he'd be testing you on stuff he never taught during classes, and then he'd try to make it up by adding 5-10 points to each student's final score which doesnt help at all, better to get tested on stuff you've actually lectured
Not organized and NOT clear, when you ask a question and he doesnt know the answer he gives you that look and then radicules you in front of everyone with something like:"Why do you want to know too much, just stick to the lecture". He makes labs boring, posts lectures online weeks later not on time.Take physio from someone else, read all reviews her
Dont take him, period! he is so disorganized, and always late for classes, sometimes he doesnt even show up and forgets to put a note on the door. often he himself, while grading tests, makes obvious mistakes, and students end up correcting him and then he tries to turn it into a joke. Very tough on grading policy, take physio from someone else!
Prof. Majles is a great professor! His lectures are very helpful, and all of his clinical examples help you to reinforce everything you need to know for midterms. He gives you hints also on what to focus for the tests, so it's good! He's really funny, and overall great! Take physio with him!!!read his PPs for exam and read the book to undrestand th
I am absolutely amazed by Dr. M. He is so interesting, very knowledgeable and humorous. He is the best. very clear, questions are only from his PPs. if you want to get a c or even B just memorize his PPs. Yet, if you want an A then you need to understand the material. We call him a walking encyclopedia! Take his class if you want to learn physio
very cool teacher. His class is a lot of fun. You leave the class feeling extremely energetic! I had a hard time to undrestand Physiology thats why I dropped it last semester. I am very happy that I took with him. Some people are just whiners. study hard. His PPs are awsome. I am getting an A so far and all I am doing is studying his PPs.
I am enjoying being in his class. He teaches like no other prof. He is funny & pretty cute. He is making me want to learn, keeping it interesting. if you question him he questions you back with a good question that makes you think hard! He never leave any question without an answer his test are fair too! he tells you what comes for the exam. A+++
nice guy and a good teacher.
If you are passionate about this subject and want to go into something like nursing it is important to actually learn the material and he makes that very difficult. Text, syllabus, and "lectures" DO NOT correlate to each other. He simply copies Marawala's syllabus, text, and lectures as he his too "busy" to formate his own class. I would take Wu
please disregard all the bad comments, the material is hard, it takes dedication, and a lot of hard work...if it were easy everyone would be doing it,you have the book, power point slides, the internet, classmates, study groups, and your brain...and Dr. Majlesi is the best science teacher out there!!! and hes Hot! he looks like George Cloonie!
This teacher get's a bad rap. He's the best science teacher I've ever had. The material is not easy. But it's a Physio class! It's not suppose to easy! He's fair and very helpful and ALWAYS let's class out early. My only gripe is that the labs are a bit disorganized. But I highly recommend him and he's not bad to look at too!
Responding to student below: Duh. you must make this class your life. no one said it was easy. I took Anatomy in the summer and got a high B because of a great teacher- Ruggiero. He cared about his students and you LEARN alot. Majlesi is disorganized; syllabus doesn't follow text or PPs that he just copies from Marawala. Makes it difficult to learn
Judging from the comments below, i would only recommend this teacher if having your professor look like george clooney is your top priority over learning physiology. if you actually need to learn Phsyio the best way, take Patricia Wu. C'mon he lets you guys out early? Those classes are supposed to last the entire time and then some. Don't take him
Great, Great teacher. I take his class again in a heart beat. I am in nursing program (master) and taking his class is making my life so easy. No wonder alwasy lazy students write bad comment about him!
I loved his lecture. Highly recommend him. Cool and funny. very organized, gives test results right away and tests are from his PPs. I failed Physio one time with someone else at Chabot and got a B in his class.
it is very nice to have such an instrucotr after struggling with other science classes. He has a very good attitude and is fun. his style of teaching is so attractive. He is a little bit fast but he repeat numerous time. the notes are all online ahead of time.
I feel so lucky that I was able to add to his class. My friend told me to take him and now I am happy that I did. I undrestand physiology much better. He made me to become a better student with lots of confidence on myself. He alwasy talks about his students' success and I want to be one of them one day.
nice person, obviously he loves what he does. his class needs lots of work and study. He adds points and curves the grade. great over all
I took him for physio last semester and I got a C and I can honestly say I studied hard and still wasnt able to pull off a good grade. He talks extremely fast, goes through lectures fast and I never felt I could ask a question because he would laugh. His labs are a joke, we never did a real lab and yet we got tested on it. I do not recommend him.
Good:test base on pwrpnt lect no book; curve exam; no accmltve final; makeup lect exam hard didnt help; few labs. Bad:intimidatin; 1 min nice n funny the next would get angry nlect students like children; tricky ?s; lect quickly. Rcmmnd: recd lect; study pwrpnt lect til undrstnd; dont miss class; quiz 1xwk. I got solid B. Take Maljesi not Marawala.
This professor is so full of himself that he does not believe that he has to teach. He let's his student assistant do most of it (while he makes the big $$$). We did not have an actual lab manuel until we told him. I don't care what he looks like, but can he teach? Hell No! It would be nice if he said that the textbook is not needed for the class.
Dr. Majlesi's class was difficult, but worth every last minute of work. He is an awesome educator and truly cares about his students. The exams were difficult, but if you REALLY study and know the detailed information, you WILL pass!! Great Class!! Great Instuctor!! But Study LONG and HARD!! and you will pass!! good luck!
I loved his class and I learnt so much. Great lecture, great hours, fun, yet very informative. His sense of humor is even better than his look! you will love it. Just study his PPs. Physiology is hard and you need somone to make the class interesting. Dont stare at him too long though!!!
love his lecture and his examples. Highly recommend him.
with all the respect for a teacher, I have to say this teacher is really bad. doesnt know how to teach, has no text book for his class, has no green sheet to guide studet on what they r supposed to do. labs are just a joke. he has no idea what he is doing ithe class as a teacher. dont take him. I am an A student with 4.0 GPA. I amnot a lazy student
this teacher is BAD. dont take him since you are not ganna learn anything. he is so confusing and doesnot know how to teach. test are hard, has no text book to study for the test. so good luck being confused and not knowing what to do for labs or exams. I dont even know how he can be allowed to teach when he doesnt know what he is doing in d class.
Great teacher! Knows how to teach! Repeats himself if people do not understand the concept. Jokes around and forces feedbacks from students. I personally do not know where all the negative reviews are coming from, because this guy can teach but his tests are fairly hard. Pay attention and study and you should get at least a B.
This instructor could be an excellent teacher, but it seems that he does not really enjoy teaching. Too many questions annoy him, and he doesnt hide it. He does not know how to positively encourage students to study...
He?s a good lecturer. The downside of the class is that there is absolutely no margin for error. The labs and homework aren?t graded, only exams. The tests are difficult. There is no standard book and the provided power point notes are filled with unexplained abbreviations. You'll leave knowledgeable but your grade will suffer. Good Luck!
I would not advise taking Physiology from this teacher. He is a smart guy but he will not put one inch of extra effort into relaying information. He is late to class and the tests are made last minute. They are difficult and sloppy. The most he will grade is a scantron. There is no graded labs or homework. Your grade is purely off his tests.
STAY AWAY! GRADES ARE STRICTLY BASED OFF TESTS ONLY, NO HW, LABS ARE BARELY DONE, EVERYONE HAS A DIFF BOOK TEACHES OFF PPT WHICH IS BARELY UP ON TIME, GETS ANNOYED W/?s EASILY DOESN'T TAKE TIME TO LEARN ANY NAMES TALKS DOWN TO THE CLASS WHEN THEY ASKS ?s. TESTS ARE DONE LAST MIN AND U CAN'T REFER BACK TO THE TEST PAPER TO CHECK YOUR ANSWERS
Very intelligent and knows his stuff but I wouldn't recommend him because his exams are POORLY written and i bet any physio instructor who'd take his tests would not get any higher than B. You'll leave the class knowing a lot but your grade is at risk. Even 4.0 students in his class failed to get an A.
you will learn from him more than any other instructor. He is hard in comparison with other teachers at Chabot though. if you look at his critics, they are saying he is hard and grade only from the exams! thats all. you read his PPs and learn it, you are done and can get what you deserve. No one disagree he is a great teacher
PROs:Kowledgeable & good ppt PERSONAL OBSERVATIONS:Tends to be condescending?enjoys watching students twist in pain. Gets irritated answering ?s?legit ?s are answd w/?that?s not important? or ?it?s in the book?. Does not cultivate envrmt of learning where you feel welcome to interact. Tests are convoluted&poorly written-thrown together on test day
Excellent teacher. Knows material inside and out. Very hard material so be prepared to study a lot. Always willing to help those who try. Simply put, he's the best science teacher I've ever had in college. Study his powerpoints and use the book if you need clarification and you will do just fine. Good sense of humor. Highly recommended!!
Worst. Teacher. Ever. He is rude, conceited, condescending, arrogant, biased, and overall seems like he doesn't want to be there. Don't bother with the book, you won't use it at all. His tests are written TERRIBLY and his labs are disorganized. He usually plays on his phone during lab anyway. AVOID IF YOU CAN!
he is brilliant, a masterpiece at physiology. crystal clear, tells you exactly whats going to be on the test. offer extra credit when students need it sometimes. acts serious on the 1st day of class but loosens up and he is pretty funny sometimes
Very smart, caring and fun. The class is very friendly and relax. He really wants you to learn. I feel bad when he repeats himself over and over because when he feels someone didnt get the topic. I highly recommend him.
BEWARE! He is an extremely difficult instructor. Half of the class dropped early instead of risking bad grade. Hes all over the place and doesnt make up for it when grading. Very disorganized, presummably because he teaches at several schools. Cool on a personal level but we arent there to make friends. Doesnt require book but you may need it anywa
Teacher's grading policy is confusing. When he gave extra credit, he did not apply the extra points correctly. Very unorganized. Exams are not based on studied material. He doesn't even prepare his own tests. He is very condescending and does not welcome questions by students. He does not create a learning environment.
Don't take this class. He may be funny at sometimes but his class is hard. His tests aren't based on his study guides. The only thing I liked was that he gave the whole class full credit on the lab. Grade is based on lecture tests, lab test, and lab manual
nice personality but not a good teacher, you ask questions he make you feel stupid for asking ,the class is confused nobody knows whats going on. he lectures on PP but they gives very little information and you have to voice record the lectures if you want to know the material, NO HW, grades are based on the test only, Khan academy taught me AVOID!
I can say that he explain things the way a student would understand, at least for me. However, you will feel like you get it but when then tests come it feels like you are taking your board exams. Exams are really hard! he says it is based on his PPT but I believe some of them aren't there. He's a hard grader & exams are way too hard!
His lectures are good, their understandable he says that you don't need the book since the exams are PPT based & their straight forward. That's not the fact his exams are hard,he tests you on things that you didn't know you had to study. He is so unorganized, uncooperative when discussing Grade scores. Lab book such a waste of money($100)
Cons: Lectures unorganized, extremely unprofessional, lazy as hell, horrible attitude, very authoritative, numerous stupid basic mistakes that I even had to correct him. Pros: multiple choice exams, easy labs, curved grades, free bonus points Get the textbook and lab book, make time to read all chapters. Must memorize all info from A to Z.
He gave unbelievable amounts of homework. Don't even think about asking questions, he will make you figure it all out on your own and feel very incompetent. The study guides were no help and would put a lot of information on the tests. Very unclear and boring lectures. Do not take him.
Anatomy is a tough class. His lectures are really good if you pay attention and participate. He notices everything so if you're falling asleep or texting he knows. He has been teaching forever, so he is pretty tough shell to crack but stick through the class he softens up. Tests are taken on iPads, Lab work is graded regularly and no pop quizzes.
He does try to thoroughly explain material if you don't understand and he def knows his stuff. Adds humor to class so makes it fun. He says you don't need the book but I highly recommend you get it. I recommend also getting The Anatomy Coloring Book to help you out. Also, DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS AS 6-WEEK SUMMER COURSE. YOU WILL NOT GET FAIR GRADE!
If you do not have to DO NOT take this professor. Anatomy is a though subject and will be tough with any professor but this professor almost makes it harder. He makes you feel stupid when you ask questions, clarifying or otherwise. Did not return our labs in a timely manner, slightly unorganized and is not clear what is going to be on his tests.
At times he seems down right condescending but he really wants his students to learn the material and do well. He has been teaching this material for a long time so he knows his stuff and has high expectations of his students. Don't take his antics personally.
Anatomy is a tough subject so I don't think it will be any easier with a different professor. Dr. Majlesi knows his stuff and he is an awesome lecturer. His tests aren't hard if you take the time to study as you should for a tough subject like Anatomy. People who are whining about him probably didn't do well because they didn't study.
Anatomy is not an easy subject but Dr. M explains the material really well. He tells you what will be on the test and if you do the study guides then you will be golden. He can be a hard ass for the first 2 weeks but he softens up throughout the semester, trust me. Make sure to ask questions and participate in class; he might give you extra points
Lectures all over the place and very test heavy. Will leave you drained after the class and he expects you to memorize everything he is saying during the lectures on the spot which is impossible. You can self study all you want but if you did not listen to the lectures, you still won't get the best grade.
He is pretty funny and does go off topic sometimes. In the summer, there are 4 practical and 4 lecture tests. Do not get behind or procrastinate studying or it will bite you in the butt. Anatomy is not an easy A but it is possible to get an A if the work is put in.
He did good on lecture ,however ,he is not clearly about the grading policy .basically there is no extra credit .if you want to easy pass u can take him .he so generous let you pass .to those people who Want get A .good luck then ,test is tricky and test heavy
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!! He's a nice guy, but he goes all over the place with lecture. He's very cocky and thinks he's a great instructor when he's not. He talks a lot and makes you feel embarrassed when you ask a question. The study guides are not helpful at all and are very different from what he lectured. Don't do it, you'll thank me later!
AWFUL. Another arrogant teacher who thinks he is to smart for his students. Literally made you feel stupid if you asked the wrong question or answered it incorrectly. Takes forever to grade material, and the exams are irrelevant to his lectures. PASS
Very unprofessional professor. When I took his class in the summer, his work seemed do-able. The class is lecture heavy and he did a lot of pop quizzes. when class started he seemed very helpful and nice but he told us not to email him for anything and singles people out if he feels like they're not paying attention. He was very disrespectful.
If you can take someone else, take someone else. Majlesi knows what hes talking about, but lacks qualities in being a good teacher. Will be a self taught class. Study guides are useless, test dates arent on time, and he is unorganized. Can be rude. Will teach you about organs in last 5 mins of class and expects you to know it 100% by next class.
The absolute worst communicator. If you have any issue outside of class, he has no care what so ever to assit you. It's as if he gives the class no thought unless its on the designated days and times of the class. Very unprofessional and could care less if you pass or fail.
Condescending. Feels anatomy is too easy and doesnt take the class serious. If you have the flexibility to take another teacher, DO IT!!!!
I am in the middle of taking ANAT1 this summer semester (Summer 2020). I've realized this is by far the worst, most pathetic professor I have ever had. We are being tested on 8 labs, 7 of which have not been conducted. Arrogant, does not communicate nor teach us. Take another professor if you can. Lectures don't help. You have to teach yourself.
The professor is very unprofessional, meaning he doesn't update us on any upcoming assignments or changes he has done, makes vulgar jokes, responds to your emails sarcastically, and doesn't end up helping at all.
He is not accessible, will not respond to emails and if he does it will be in a very condescending tone. I understand he wants you to learn but if you are too scared to as your teacher a question how does he expect you to learn?
He never responds to e-mails and if you talk to him, he would never give you a straight answer. His exams are very tricky. I would never take him again.
Worst professor ever
Very rude, always ask if you have any questions and when you do ask he makes you sound like an idiot. But material is very easy. So if you want to pass anatomy take him.
He has a lackluster attitude, and puts you on the spot to answer questions in his Zoom lectures. He uses generic exams that also require Honor lock. Cuts every corner to make his life easier and the students more difficult. Had to Withdrawal, his nonsense was too much. Took with another professor and got an A. Good luck if you need an A or B.
DO NOT Take this teacher. I made the mistake of not listening to the reviews beforehand. There is not one student in the classroom with a grade of an A. He does not make exams based on any of the information he explains. The median grade on the past 5 exams has been all lower than 65%. Exams are worth 70% of the grade.. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR
As a person, he's " OK". Comes off very straightforward, very sarcastically rude, puts you on the spot but once you actually get to know him, you learn that that's just who he is. 4 lecture & 4 lab exams, typically 60-80 question ea. LONG lectures w/ too much info. Lab manual to complete by end of sem. lecture vs exams? gluck, it's all confusing.
A lot of people dropped out and by the end of the semester, there were around 15 people left. Tests are horrible and impossible at times. Understanding the material isn't enough, he sometimes puts stuff that we didn't learn or words the question weirdly so that it confuses the student. I had the highest grade in the class which is a B. Good luck.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!! His lectures are long and go over stuff that is not in the test. He lies about what will be on the test. His study guide doesn't match the test, it basically says study everything. He lies about extra credit or curving the grade. He encourages students to interact but then when they ask a question he belittles them.
DO NOT take this course with this professor. All the negative reviews are true. He is cynical, does not repeat himself, does not know what is on his tests, and simply does not care. He cuts corners to make his life easier. He did not even want to teach the summer course. The class suffered and he was condescending. Save yourself, do not take him.
Great Professor, tries really hard for his students.
this professor is one who has lost the spark of teaching. All he does is complain. His lectures are note heavy and not accurate. We learned today with our first test that everything he taught us was useless and inaccurate to prepare us for the exam. I would not recommend this teacher take any one but him.
Reza is an old school professor, he won't caudal you through the lectures or course/ lab work. He encourages engagement and sees wrong answers as active learning, rather than putting you on the spot. Be prepared to do 95% of your learning on auxiliary platforms, but if you want a course with a light take home load and a cool prof this could be it.
Took the class in spring 2024. His classes are extremely lecture heavy and most of your grade comes from tests. He's super passionate about his job though, and actually wants you to learn stuff. Take his class if you actually want to learn anatomy instead of only learning things needed to pass a test. He's pretty funny too.
Do not take him. I endured a semester full of rants and remarks, but the final straw was when he attacked my work ethic and began deducting points because of his ego. I am terrified to speak to him now that we are at the end of the semester. That is telling. Just don't do it. Even if you work hard, he will complain that you are not doing enough.
The study guide dont say match the test, he can respond very rudely /expect you to know everything within seconds lectures are all over the place but overall the test makes no sense ever, very fast and easy to fail and this is coming from someone who gets As every semester and studies hard so please, just don't you'll regret it if you do good luck .
Prof. Reza is very knowledgeable in anatomy and will teach you important things for your future career in the medical field. With that being said, he expects you to know everything he is talking about like you've taken this class b4. Labs are unorganized, and study guides aren't helpful for exams. Be prepared to do most of learning by yourself.
Class was unbelievably hard and grading was poor. He is condescending and does not respond to emails. This class was poorly conducted and many failed. Do not take this course and avoid this class and save yourself the stress.
