This teacher is awful! He's nice at times but very arrogant and rude when you ask a question, not helpful at all. He said that his class average is 50%, what does that say about the teacher when most of his students fail?! You basically have to teach yourself the material and then I still wish you luck to even pass. Avoid this teacher!
SAME AS ABOVE..... Did not feel I was learning at all. He says only study your notes and don't use the book. WHATEVER, not true.
This professor makes it a point to be as difficult as possible. He does not stick to his syllabus, he bounces around in the book and was overall disappointing. The highest score on the tests were around 70% and he refused to curve or show you the original exam to compare to your scantron score. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!
This professor is teaching 6 classes this semester, various schools and various subjects. It shows. He is disorganized, not very accessible, has dubious grading practices. He's not a mean guy just arrogant, and evasive. Forget about reviews. Nor will you be able to review what you got wrong on an exam even though the final is comprehensive.
The instructor made the class very interesting and enjoyable. It was easy for me to understand the materials because of the way he explained the concepts and the examples he used. The exams were not easy but you can definitely do well if you understand the materials.
OMGOSH DONT EVER TAKE HIM. THE WORST TEACHER IVE EVER HAD. 2/3 OF CLASS DROPPED OUT AND EVERYONE HARDLY PASSED. BAD LECTURES & HES A JERK. END OF STORY. HE ALSO THINKS HES SEXY WITH HIS 3 UNBOTTONED TOP BUTTONS OF HIS SHIRT & HIS GOLD CHAIN NECKLACE.
He is incredible teacher. knows a lot and explains over and over. grade fairly. Just read his powerpoint. I am not sure what is the problem with these people! they want to be a nurse but they dont want to work for it.
very interesting. grade so fairly. he is crystal clear. repeat himself many times to make sure you get it. ask him questions. there is a make up exam as well. the final exam is not comprehensive. You will do fine by reading his notes. I take his class again if I need to (I hope not)
one of the best major instructor that I have ever had. he is full of information. during the lecture he tells you the exam questions! he is funny and sometimes sarcastic. it is easy to talk to him. I am getting an A and I am enjoying the class as well. I highly recommend him.
Difficult class but very interesting. Yes, the professor is arrogant but he's pretty cool once he lets down his guard. His tests are very difficult and you must fully understand the concepts to do well. I had a hard time with the concepts and had to study ALOT but I got a B.
Dr. Majlesi is a great instructor. i took a course at Western Career College for Medical Assisting.. he was great , very helpful & fun!!
he was really difficult and not willing to help students. if possible to avoid try!
hes awesome, and super funny.
Super smart guy. funny and awesome instructor. Put every single line of his lecture in a case scenario. if you like clinical aspect then you love his class. very organized. his test is difficult but he gives you lots of option to accomodate. Read his PPs over and over. you will be Ok
He is great, funny and very fair. Take his class and learn. he gives you lots of info that you will need
He is an awesome professor! The best that I have ever had. Very helpful and clear! He is willing and wanting for you to understand the subject! this class does require outside studying. He also goes beyond his reach to help the students!!! Great professor! Nice person. Read his PPs. You will love his class if you like physiology
I love his class. He is nice and so friendly. I am learning a lot.
I am so happy that I took his class. great guy. He shows lots of passion toward his students. He is funny when he move his stick!
Had Reza for a sub-teacher one day; SUCH AN IMPROVEMENT OVER MY OWN REGULAR INSTRUCTOR. Although a bit militant in his teaching style, he stays focused, is extremely knowledgeable and tells the most awesome stories about his own experiences to make the lessons stick. Take him for physio, but he's not for the faint or shy.
without any doubt he is the best instructor in the science department. very nice, sometimes you think he is mad or upset but later on you learn that it was his way of being funny! He has a good heart. Helped me alot. Thank you Dr. Reza.
The best. Great lectures. Hot smile. :))))
his accent difficult to understand.better than nothing as long as I get easy grade who cares if I don't understand!
I have never had an instructor as intelligent as him. He is funny and makes the lecture so interesting. He gives you lots of clinical examples as well. I am getting an A just by reading his notes. Book is great if you have time. I will take him over any other biology instructors in a heart beat.
just study his notes. You will be fine. Lab exam is very straight forward. You can get a good grade on lab if you attend the lab and do your homework. Dont read the book unless you dont get the lecture. He grades very fairly.
HE IS VERY HARD AND SO ARE THE TEST!I WOULD ONLY TAKE HIS CLASS TO SEE HIM BECAUSE HE IS SO HOT AND HE KNOWS IT! HE IS A FUNNY TEACHER AT TIMES BUT AT THE SAME TIME ONLY TEACHES FROM WHAT HE BELIEVES EVEN IF THE BOOK IT RIGHT AND HE IS WRONG. THE WAY HE WORDS THE TEST AND QUIZES ARE IMPOSIBLE TO UNDERSTAND.

very clear, grades fairly. HOT. I will take him again if I have too.
Yes, he might seem arrogant but a lot of people do not know that he intimidates who are easily intimidated--> truth is he wants people to get good grades by learning not by just merely attending, this is COLLEGE my friends not high school, its a different setting and its a different learning experience so i guess, grow up first before you critizice
I love his lecture. Can not be more clinical oriented. He is clear, funny, nice and helpful. He gets irritated sometimes by some whiner tudents but who doesnt.
I just got my final grade. recieved an A. woohoo. I only studied his PPs. very funny and fair professor. you learn a lot in his class. The best science instructor. He looks like Gorge Clooney!
This professor seems to know everything. He links information in physiology to anatomy and then to pharmacology and pathology etc. I am loving it so much. I think he is right, if someone doesnt find those type of integration interesting she has to think twice of being a nurse. All I can say is that I love his lecture. He is HOOOT
no matter how good you are as a student, by attending his class you will become a better student. I took his class 3 semesters ago and now I am in Pharmacy program down in LA. i owe him big time. take his class and study if you really wants to learn. He is handsome too!!
He is by far the best instructor in peralta district community colleges. Amazingly smart and helpful. He tries his best to teach you and give you lots of opportunities to learn and get a good grade. Today, he offered us a make up exam to improve our grades. I love his class and I know I learned alot.
has a soft accent, no big deal. very friendly and fair grader
the point is not if he is friendly, funny or helps students. To me the point is that he knows so much that you will be amazed! He puts different material of other subjects, that you learned in other classed, together in a nice clinical way. I would say take no other classes but his!
versed, fair, fun, handsome!!
expect blood tears and sweat.he knows his stuff and will challenge u to do the same-or beyond. dont be fooled by the smile, or neat appearance or his moodiness-he is hot if you like g. clooney :) dont stare though kind of embarassing if you do but he demand all your attention :). if you dont take hard class, i recommend him highly.
It would be nice if Reza would stop telling his students to rate him for extra credit or whatever. Reza, your job is safe!
interesting, best of all so far in Alameda and Laney. Clinical oriented and fun. If he teaches any other science classes, I will attend.
Love his lecture. it seems you are atttending a medical conference! very fair grader. easy to talk to. He is fun and interesting. the downside is that his test is not easy, you have to really know your stuff. I guess that is what we are supposed to do anyway!
Reza Majlesi is extremely rude and condescending to students. He literally makes fun of you if you ask a question. No one asks questions in our class anymore. I'm not learning anything in his lecture, but if I ask a question, I get insulted. Everyone from class is emailing each other, and is prepared to report him for his awful teaching style.
STAY AWAY- TERRIBLE. One of the worst teachers I have ever had. He is arrogant and snide and often directly insults students. Teaches by reading off his powerpoints. Bad, cluttered slides. Provides no tools to help you integrate information. Seems to like to show off how smart he is at your expense. Overall a demeaning and demoralizing experience.
I am taking his class. He is one of a kind, funny and makes it very interesting. He gives you lots of clinical examples. Yet, he is hard and demanding. You need to study hard for this class. Test is from his PPs However.
Some teachers inspire you to be your best. Majlesi is NOT one of them. He doesn't explain labs, but he'll test you on them. He won't go over missed questions on quizes to prepare you for the test. Nor will he go over the exam after you have taken it so you understand your mistakes. I'm not sure where the learning is supposed to take place.
Majlesi can't be bothered to learn our names and apparently thinks derision is a teaching tool. Sucessfully killed any morale in this class in just 5 weeks! Always has time to talk about Swedish female wrestling and hallucinogens, but no time to answer physiology questions. I'm so not impressed.
lets see, is he clear in his lecture? yes, he is crystal clear. does he give you real examples of the material you are learing? Yes, he does. In fact I think they are too much! Is he funny? no he is not. is he hard on exams? yes, he is. Does he explain everything that you may see during exam? Yes, he does. stop crying! Here is not a H.School.
very smart and helpfull, yet harder than I was expecting. He adds some extra points if nobody gets a perfect score. grade very fairly. eventhough tests are from PPs but you need to know it in and out.
Worse teacher I've had. Never used book in class(use pp) but will need it to study since he skips over a lot of info you will need to understand the material. He missed class couple times but students had to pay b/c he'd start skipping slides so we could catch up. Discourages students to go to medical field unless you are an A student. AVOID!
This is the worst teacher I've ever had. He has no desire to want to teach, he's a Dr. yet never practiced. He's extremely full of him self, he thinks he's so smart and so good looking but really he's just full/of himself. His teaching is awful, you learn nothing from him. Often asks questions on tests before we learn the material. The list goes on
I took his class with high expectation. I was told that Mr. Majelsi is very experienced and explains physiology very well. I have to admit, he surpassed my expectation. this was my last course to apply for NP or PA. I say he is the best between all my professors. A quick tip; Read the book first then read his PPS which is very organized. he is HOT!
I tested well enough in Majlesi's class, but I feel like I learned nothing except how to take his ridiculous exams. His PPs are incomprehensible and his testing focus is on the most irrelevant details. He does not bother to explain the big picture at all. It is shocking he is allowed to teach and have an impact on students' futures.
Grow up! we all know he is a great instructor. Yet, I agree his tests were difficult. You cant get an A unless you know his PPs. I never heard anybody complains about his PPS! He goest through each slide and explains numerous time. Physiology is not an easy subject yet, he is great. I love taking his Pharmacology class.
I just got my grade. Got an a. It is true that he added 10 percents to our grades. I only read his pls and took notes during lab. He is absolutely unmatched professor. Good luck
He is the VERY WORST teacher I have ever had! It is obvious that he does not like teaching. He continued to tell our class how he didn't really like us. If you want to learn ANYTHING about Physiology - I beg you - DON'T TAKE FROM HIM!! I had to self-teach the whole semester. He does not teach/test on the big picture, but on minute points. AWFUL!
Let me be quiet honest. Mr. Majlesi added 10 points to each exam, eventhough every question in the exam was from his PPS. If it wasnt because of those extrapoints, my real score must have been a C. I think it is very dishonorable to accuse him to be difficult! few of us didnt like him. Honestly becuase of him, I became a better student
I agree that he is a great professor & very clear in his lecture. However, I think his test is difficult. Eventhough his questions are from the power points but if you didnt undrestand the lecture you can not answer it. I think you should take note. He is a fair grader. Ask questions, he seems tough but he is very nice. physio is difficult any way
I strongly discourage students from taking this class if they are looking to learn the subject. The professor seems very disinterested in students success and supporting a learning environment. Obviously phyisiology is not an easy subject; however Majlesi makes it unecessarily difficult. He may be smart, but he fails as an instructor.
The person below couldnt have said it better. Tests are impossible, focusing on the minute while entirely skipping the big picture. PP's are incomprehensible. Labs are useless. I have always been an A student and despite all my studying, I could not manage a good grade. Smart guy but puts no effort or passion into teaching. Take it with Baily.
This teacher does nothing to help students succeed. He doesn't give a review/study guide or anything to study for the tests. He seems annoyed when people ask questions. I do not recommend him to anyone.
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!
He does not seem to understand that Anatomy and Micro are NOT prereqs for physio, but teaches as if they are. No amount of studying (completely unguided, btw) will prepare you for the kind of questions he asks on the tests/quizzes and the tests are entirely what he bases the grade on. Very cold, unsupportive learning environment.
Worst professor I've ever had! Doesn't like to teach and it shows. Puts students down and discourages them to medical field. Didn't learn anything from him. Peralta need to rid him!
So obviously this professor is one of mixed opinions, i'll try my best to not be objective. Very rough class, however this was my 3rd time taking Physiologyso I wasn't surprised, but Dr. Reza makes it clear for anyone who is willing to commit time to it (study). 9 tests, all based of his powerpoints. I finally passed this time around (C). Good luck
Physiology is hard; I'm guessing some people here don't realize that. You must study, and study hard. Dr. Majlesi did a great job of explaining things and giving real world examples. He expects you to put in the effort, but he's very amenable to questions. I'd highly recommend him if your goal is learning physiology, rather than an easy A.
WORST teacher ever had! Beliitle and discourage students and not helpful at all. Expect you to know micro and physio although not prereqs. Didn't learn from him. Don't waste your semester on this teacher. Will not learn in this class!
He has a strong accent that is difficult to understand. He enjoys making students feels humiliated and actually shared a story of how a female student who had cried from being embarrassed and had written to thanked him later. He actually keeps a file of emails student who actually thanked him, obviously from feeling insecure.
He will not go over missed answers. The exam are recycled multiple choice questions. The lab exam images are so fuzzy and he obviously doesn't care. One arrogant teacher who made himself uglier even though he was not too bad looking. Imagine if he's taller. Physiology is not that tough like all subject if taken from a teacher who cares.
either all those negative comments are from one person or we are talking about two different people! He is amazingly clear, helpful with cute accent! He encourages you to ask questions. I dont know anyone in my class who disagree. We all love his lecture and looking forward to hearing from him. He is the best Biology instructor that I ever had
I agree, I don't know who these people are who dislike his teaching so much. He is very good about answering questions, very clear and knows his stuff! I'd highly recommend him, just know the class is hard. You need to study and show up everyday.
You need 20 hours + to get an A in this class. He adds extra points because only a few get good grades, and even with the extra points the average grade is a C. He is unavailable and uninterested in the people part of teaching. Fascinating subject matter yet discouraging grade outcome with lots of studying. All multiple choice, trick questions...
WARNING!!DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!! Just finished taking Bio 4 with this instructor, of course he was and 1 hours and 15 mins late to the final. Naturally, this was the perfect way for Dr Majlesi to end the semester. No study guides, half the PPs are illegible, and 25% of the test questions are from something he lectured on for 5 mins. Labs are a
I beg you not to take this class from this instructor. With his difficult accent it is very hard to follow the lecture especially when he will not write new vocab words on the board. You will learn nothing in this class. This teacher just wasn't meant to teach. Absolute worst instructor I have ever had. 75% of the class dropped.
DO NOT TAKE FROM THIS PROFESSOR!!! He is by far the worst teacher I have had in my life. I learned absolutely nothing from him. He seems to not even like to teach...as if it is a bother to be there. Also, he will ask completely obscure questions on his tests. PLEASE for your sake...STAY OUT OF HIS CLASS!
I actually like Dr. Majlesi & got an A in the class. Yes, he comes off a little rude but he's actually very caring if you get to know him. Go to his office hours, ask questions about things that are unclear & you'll be fine. Study a lot! (shouldn't be a surprise; it's college, not high school). Tests are straight from lecture. Overall, good class!
Let me give everyone an example of how unapproachable this teacher is. I once went up to ask him a question in lab, while listening to me he had a total digusted look on his face while he looked me up and down in apparent disgust because I came to class dressed a bit frumpy and am overweight.Poor excuse of a teacher! My name is Angela Rollisson.
This man is egocentric and FAILS as an INSTRUCTOR.does not understand that some students learn differently. If you are good at mass memorizing and regurgitation, you may be okay in this class, but that is not learning.tests are confusing.too busy to help out. It's a shame that this man is determining the future for so many students and hehas no idea.
He uses confusing lectures that were recorded for previous classes on his website. He refuses to update the syllabus when he cancels class or allows the class to postpone an exam (postponing exams is ridiculous). He is condescending when people ask questions, he does not want to be there and leaves early for his UCSF class. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Bio is not my fav. subject but having it with Dr. M did not make it any more interesting. Do not take his online class. He hardly ever reponds to his emails and when he does its as if he talks down to you. Did not clarify when changes were made and the combo of the lab was hard to study for. Don't do this clas with him online!!!
He expects students to understand and apply the concepts on exams. He's never available for his virtual office hours. You have to hunt him down if you need help!! If you're the type who needs face to face interaction during lecture, this class is not for you! Exams are ridiculous.
I was not sure to take his class because of all those neg comments. Yet, I am happy I took it. All lecture are online with the PPs. He has been always on time. Test are from his PP slides and lectures. The good thing is that you can listen and watch the lecture as many times as you want. He is willing to stay after the lab and answer any questions.
I was a bio major, and this guy is the worst prof. I've had. It's not the difficulty, I'm getting an A in his class, it's that he makes it clear that teaching is his last priority and he doesn't care if we do well or fail. online lectures are disorganized, syllabus is a mess, labs are useless busywork, prof. shows up late and plays on his computer.
this is my first hybrid course. It fun and exciting. He is very accessible by email, skype, or in person. willing to help. I love his lectures on line. You know from the first day what you have to study for each exam and when the exams are. Labs are great, his explanation makes it very simple. Over all, it is A+ class. I totally recommend him
Passing this class is like a game of chance. You may find yourself studying hard, just to get a poor grade because of the tricky ways he has worded his question. Each question is worth 2 points, so you have a greater chance of getting a low score. His labs-rushed, his interest-minimal.I DO NOT recommend him. Please be cautious and do your research!
I got an A in this course but I wouldnt reccommend him. I did like being able to learn the lectures on my own time, but his tests are a very poor representation of what we learn on his online lectures. Be prepared to memorize everything and then when you take his test be prepared to not know how to apply what he taught you to his poorly worded q's.
It is not an easy class, need to study, BUT psychologically I was not able to put the time needed to study. What I really appreciate about Dr. Majlesi, is he asked me on how he could help me, when he saw my grades were not as good as they could be. Even though my grades don't show it, I did learn a lot from him. He is a wonderful teacher.
I took his class 3 years ago & still feel angry about it! He was the very worst teacher I've ever had - I learned basically nothing from his class. I ended up having to teach myself because he spent class time talking about how we would never make it as nurses. All other classes, I got A's - him C. Now in a MSN prog - & am rockin'. No thx 2 RM
His online lectures are good. But his exam questions are SO poorly worded you can't get a good grade. Your exam results do NOT reflect how well you know the subject. When I wrote an email expressing concern about my exam score, he NEVER replied. So I dropped the class. I can't afford a poor grade due to his terrible test writing. Not recommended!
Don't take his hybrid course because you need the convenience of watching lectures on your own time. It is so frustrating listening to his lectures because he doesn't know how to explain things in a concise manner, and the lectures are constantly disrupted by the phone, a student knocking on his door, or his dog.
His hybrid class is great. Physio is not easy and you need to work hard. He posts a sample questions which are very similar to what you see in the exam. He is always in his office hours and answers questions. If your score is low he genuinely tries to help. He removes any question that many students answered it incorrectly. I highly recommend him.
Online class summer 2012. Difficult to understand his terrible terminology (Mao inhibitors? No, M.A.O.!), thick accent, non-interactive, terribly recorded, poorly paced, non-existent use of book, tests covered items not in lectures. Hybrid format hurts study group formation. Yipe. Withdrew from class.
Great Instructor! He made the class fun and interesting. Attendance is mandatory. The tests were somewhat difficult but he gave study guides and allowed some open note time during tests. Lab hours were fun and seemed to go quickly. Dr. Majlesi is knowledgeable and funny. I would certainly recommend him to anyone.
His communication skills are poor, and his exams are so hard that he must grade on a curve or else most of the class would fail. The most annoying thing about him is that he's very disorganized and he doesn't let students to see their exam answers unless they go to his office. He does it that way b/c he doesn't want anyone to dispute test questions
Lazy, uninterested, unprofessional. Many showed up for an exam...he forgot to send the code and postponed exam date a week. Forgot to post slides and PP...lost a week of study time. Posts assignments a year old and not pertaining to our current class. Returns emails 2 weeks late. I'm doing my part by showing up and working hard. Why aren't you?
His hybrid class is horrible. His question's on the test are worded poorly. He responds to email very late. I do not reccomend him.
The worse/HARDEST teacher in my college career.I study my butt off for his his test & nothing of what he lectures is on his exams. He let us use a page of notes and even then I still could not get above a D. Mind you I have a 3.6 GPA. There’s a few getting an A, Well they must be some kind of prodigy. Average test score 70% AVOID this class!!!!!
Do no take Nutrition with Reza.Terrible. Unprofessional. Is the dean of sciences and sets a low bar. Doesn't show up to class meets, never returns emails and is condescending. Clearly not passionate about education.
Horrid teacher! He is unclear, uninterested. Shows up late to office hours or forgets about your appointment completely. He is highly unprofessional. By far the worst teacher I have ever had in my life! I had to file a complaint against him! He even brought up my ethnicity and how he felt sorry for me because I am mexican! He will ruin your career!
This teacher is HORRIBLE. He is condescending, unresponsive, non-communicative, and down-right immature. The class lacked any clarity or focus, and I don't think he looks at submitted assignments other than to ensure that they were on time. The tests were poorly constructed, and the book was pedestrian. I will never take his class again.
Test are the most difficult part of this class. He isn't very clear. He teaches you more then you need to know. I have a 3.0 GPA and this class was very difficult.
This is one of those teachers with major ego issues. Extremely condescending. Does not want to teach, and it shows. The class was simple, but heaven help you if you should have the gall to ask a question. He simply does not have the time or patience to help students. He does not deserve his job. I am an excellent student & rarely make bad reviews
Majlesi is very cool. I really enjoyed the course. We met once a week for the lab. The lecture was online though. You can listen to his lecture as many times as you want. There is a study guide that pretty covers all the questions for the exam. He let you bring one page of information to the exam as well. Lots of information but is fun.
I took Bio31, Bio10 and 4 with Majlesi. Bio31 is an online course so you dont meet him. He is such a great instructor. Go to his office hours if you need help or review the exam with him. Study his PPS ONLY. His study guides are helpful. he let you have one page of note on the exam, which is awesome. I got A in all three courses. He is really funny
A horrible teacher. Does not teach you the same material as what is on his Exams. He gives you a really hard time to see what you did wrong on your Exams, and if you ask him any questions he gets hostile, rude and mean. STAY AWAY!
great class! i learned a lot. took this in the summer; although it was super long, it was bearable bearable and somewhat fun. best thing is we didn't have to buy a book AND he ended up giving us full pts on lab. some q's on his exams are tricky though..
Its an online class. If you need help you have to ASK and he will be more than happy to help. Reza helped me a number of times. The outline was clear, the expectations were clear, and it was an interesting class. It was intersession so yes it moves quickly. Read the chapters AND review ppts, and you can get an A.
He was difficult to understand and obviously I need to understand you its a ONLINE class.
I took the hybrid class, lecture online and lab in class. This class was a joke, lectures were short and lacked detail. The test were online-- you can not listen to lectures and not read the book for this class because you can search all the VERY EASY questions online as you take the tests. To get an A you only need 87% overall. Basic ass class!
Worst Professor Ive ever had! The test material is like looking at foreign language, it does not coincide with the study guides, the questions are designed for failure. When you ask for help he says come to his office hours or meet with him at a specific time and he doesnt show. He will respond to your emails a week later. Dont take his class!
Very unclear and difficult to work with. I took a online class with him and it was bad. His tests have nothing to do with the criteria you studied and he's very bad at communication. Tests are super tough.
Professor Majlesi is a teacher no longer passionate about teaching; he is impatient, condescending, and unhelpful. He has a habit of announcing important information about exams, while students are busy performing their lab experiments, and gets upset when students ask him to clarify. Material is not tough, but online lectures are hard to hear.
I wish I'd listened to other reviewers and not wasted my time on this prof. The lectures have basic info but the tests have Q's that you'd have to know way more about the topic to infer the answer. He is very unclear but gets angry when people ask questions. He's flat out rude when people answer incorrectly. Doesn't care about student's learning.
To call Reza a teacher or professor is an insult to the profession. -Lectures unorganized; difficult to follow train of thought -Exams on material outside scope of lectures -Rude and condescending to students especially when asked a question or got ANYTHING wrong -When a student asked a ? he literally answered "ehh, I'm not going to answer"
Lectures & lecture material were confusing. For treatment of students, he would get visibly irritated, criticize the students & avoid answering their questions. For his OHs, the wait time can be very long & you may be rescheduled. I would NOT take a course he taught in the future unless this was the only option left in the USA.
Many mistakes on tests, including spelling and grammar, sometimes making it hard to know what he was getting at. Lectures disorganized. Condescending in communication style. Bio book assigned is good. Overall, seems very lazy with teaching.
I wouldn't advise anyone to take this guy. Although he is pretty cute.
if you want to get an "A", please don't take this class. The exams were difficult. I wouldn't recommend his class to anyone.
I would not recommend this class to my worst enemy. lectures are unclear and outdated. no good at explaining concepts and content for an introduction course. not helpful when issues arise. he makes your feel dumb for asking questions. tests are not related to lecture. inconsistent grading, says will give you credit but then doesn't. worst professor
Took his hybrid class. All lectures are online. I recommend memorizing his lectures. Rarely talks about his lecture in class. His exams are tough. I got an A 'cause I studied everyday and wrote down ALL of his lecture and memorized it. He allows cheat-sheet for exam but only rely on it if you forget something. Actually study hard for the exam.
Took him as the online component of a hybrid class. His portion of the class just consisted of recorded lectures and multiple-choice tests. Many of the test questions are extremely unclear and filled with spelling, grammar and general writing errors which lead to losing points unfairly. Very little that you actually have to do.
His class is not that bad. Everyone has their own point of view, but his tests were ridiculously easy, considering the fact everything on the tests were generally from his powerpoints. I never listened to his online lectures either. I barely tried or studied and I mainly got Bs on his test. If you actually pay attention, it'll be easy to get an A.
A fun and smart lecturer. His notes can get a bit unorganized, so expect to take very good notes. Tests tend to be tricky, but you can handle them if you study hard.
I had him for a laboratory class and he covered the tests I had to take. No textbook needed, but his powerpoints are long and sometimes, unclear. However, they are the KEY to passing the exams. I was lazy and barely paid attention to them, but on the final, I did, and I got an A compared to the rest of the Bs I got on the other exams. READ THEM!!!
The Problem is taped on Moodle and it is hard to hear and understand. The exam don't even touch the notes. So confusing.
Lecture was unclear and unorganized. Grades will be based only on for exams. No extra credit offered. Half of the class dropped after the first exam.
professor Majlesi is not a well around english proficient writing&speaking teacher. he teaches the curriculum as if you already know the material. He has way to many trick questions that are not clear to understand. he expects you to know anatomy, even though its not a prerequisite for the course. No text book used online lectures, bad test&quizzes
one of the worst classes I have ever taken. the tests had nothing to do with the powerpoints or lectures. i took the hybrid class and you couldn't even understand his lectures posted online since he's using a software from ages ago.
I just graduated from Ohlone as an RN. I failed this class 4 years back and honestly it still haunts me. This professor should absolutely be fired. He was so stuck up that he would actually look me up and down in disgust and his lectures were like we were planning on going to med school. Totally pointless for nursing!
The class I had was a hybrid (online lecture, in-class lab with another instructor). He is: condescending, not helpful, may or may not reply to email, exam dates are from last year, lecture does not reflect lab, it appears he also does not communicate with the lab instructor. Online lecture is poor, there are drop outs and it feels disorganized.
I was very disappointed to drop Bio4 even I studied before in other country . I think I can't get a A from his Bio 10 class even every point is easy to me. This prof never follow the schedule , always forget the date of quiz, never answer the questions clearly, teach a lot of points beyond the test book in both Bio 10 and Bio 4. Dont recommend!
Majlezi is sarcastic, and cocky. He belittles students who ask questions, but then is visibly frustrated and agitated when no one speaks up. Instead of explaining concepts, he spends his time moaning that we don't know already know the concepts. Guess what? Sometimes students need a quick refresher on the basics. Stop whining and start teaching.
He wasnt clear about anything. It was also difficult to talk to him about the class. Whatever was on the study guides and powerpoints werent even on the tests. Too much information. I advise no one to take this class! Awful.
He doesn't seem to be a very engaged teacher. He's very stern and I don't feel that teacher student bond. The class was great, but I wouldn't take another class by him or recommend it to anymore. Professor you can still redeem yourself and become the best that we know you can be. Use the comments here for improvement not hatred. Thank you prof.
His exams are TOUGH but fair if you have master the material. He's heavy on application of the material. you read how things apply and his test work off those applications. He's hard to reach in email but if you catch his attention, he'll walk through your problem.
Reza is difficult to reach and disorganized. Seems to have no passion for teaching. Exams are long, 60-80 questions, 1 minute per question, and have many errors. I enjoy nutrition and the flexibility of online courses, however, Reza's lack of communication and dependence on the textbook has made this course unenjoyable for me. Avoid if you can.
Very critical and arrogant. If you ask the wrong question or answer it incorrectly, he makes you feel stupid. Tests are worded completely different from what he presents in lecture. Gives you 1 minute per question on the exams and the questions are difficult to understand. Feels like you are taking a speed test and the questions are full of errors.
I don't know why he has such bad reviews this was the easiest intercession class ive ever taken just read the chapter and you'll ace the exams homework is SO EASY I highly recommend
Feels like this guy is the president and he's guarding the Manhattan Project or something, because you simply CANNOT reach him. A very easy class made difficult - undoable - only by him. Errors everywhere. Condescending. Pointlessly and unfairly grades harder than I was marked at UC Berkeley but without the teaching skill, and doubly arrogant.
Pr. Majlesi is very difficult. His lectures are unorganized and are difficult to learn from. His exams have minuscule details as questions and lab exams often covered material not mentioned on the study guide. His attitude is condiscending and it feels like he wants you to fail. I have been able to get Bs in other science courses but not here!
Reza's lectures/slides are unorganized and he pays so much attention to small details. Unless you watch his lectures religiously, good luck hun. When I attend his office hours to go over the test he doesnt even bother explaining to me why I got it wrong. He's intelligent but is notorious for his lack of consideration for his students, and it shows.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! No textbook needed b/c he uploads his lectures but his exams are sooo meticulous. Unless you memorize every single detail from his lectures, you will not pass. He always "encourages" class engagement but will make you feel dumb for answering wrong. He also takes FOREVER to respond to emails! Don't risk your GPA w/ this class!
This professor is unreachable. You cant contact him at all.
Tests were rather difficult. The test questions seemed to be at a higher level than the textbook and were often confusing. I wish the homework wouldve prepared us more for the exams but in all fairness , this course was taken at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Majlesi is the worst professor I have ever taken. Just finished a Bachelor's in Bio so I thought this class would be fun. He did not respond to emails he didn't want to address, was rude in office hours, did not curve the class, and his exams frequently had Low C's as the average. He did not want to see students succeed.
I took his nutrition online class. It was a hot mess, to say the least. I had no idea what my grade was going to be until the end of the semester when he decided to grade everything at once. I got 89% in his class ... of course, he did not round it up. I admit I am a bit salty. Be prepared to learn and study everything on your own.
PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE TAKING THIS CLASS ! if you want an A in this class don't take this professor. He does zoom lectures when he feels like it, he thinks everyone has the same time he does. In his zoom lectures he would compare immigrants to cells and the cell membrane to a Mexican border. He gets frustrated easily, no extra credit...
He is a disgruntled physician from Iran. He hates his teaching job and is very unprofessional (mean) to students that participate. As a person with 3 degrees, this is only the second C I have ever received. He does not teach what he tests on and does not help at all with the lab portion of the class. Now he is running for a position in San Ramon.
Usually the first day of class professors are nice and caring when introducing himself but THIS GUY straight up YELLED at his students for asking questions on clarification. Like seriously? How can you be so rude on the first day .... Anyways already wanted to drop the course but didn't because I needed this for pre-req and too late to sign up
I took both anatomy and physiology with this professor in different semesters and in both classes he was rude to students, incredibly unaccommodating, and tested on things he never taught us or told us that we needed to know. The labs for this class also left me knowing nothing. He also uses Honorlock which has proved difficult for himself. 0/5
God this guy is impossible to contact and will never respond to emails. The exams all use Honorlock, which is unnecessarily complicated (and kind of a privacy violation). He is extremely strict with due dates and will never accept late work, yet he takes literal months to even think about grading assignments. Don't sign up for his classes.
Professor Majlesi yelled at his students nearly every lecture. In the first class he yelled at students to turn their cameras on and called you out if you didn't. He yelled at his students that wanted clarification on things, stating that "now is not the time for questions". Exams aren't on material covered in class.
The course was hard. He lectures his students as if they are all going to become doctors. Everything he teaches goes extremely into depth. He can be very intimidating. GO TO LIVE LECTURE I ENDED WITH A 74% AND HE GAVE ME A B BECAUSE I ATTENDED LIVE LECTURE (even if its not mandatory just go i'm telling you).
Anatomy is a difficult. You have to read and practice practice practice. Reza is incredibly intelligent. Pay attention, ask questions, and connect the dots. You will succeed. My favorite instructor ever. His detail of anatomy and physiology is phenomenal
This prof puts in no time... Do NOT take his class. I ignored other peoples' posts. He does not guide his students as far as how to connect concepts. He was never in office hours, no communication, syllabus terribly organized. Physio is hard but also AMAZING, so take it with a more committed professor and don't memorize concepts, understand them
Very bad experience. Very hard on students and very strict. Do not recommend him at all
This class is no joke - Reza expects you to come prepared. Go to lectures, use the textbook, and check out unstuck AI for study aids like ChatGPT. It's tough, but the effort pays off with a solid understanding.
