PURE MILITARY GENERAL
Very vague course, can't blame the prof on this, he's just ok
Rarely uses blackboard. Spends lots of time taking up homework
Don't Kmap by 6, Yes Sir, Commander Sedeghat.
WORST DIGITAL TEACHER, no one understands him. DID U GET THAT!?
Don't Kmap by 6, Yes Sir, Commander Sedeghat. I love you
Did u get that? NO? Ok, I do it one more time, but fast. Two volunteers.

not very clear but a good marker

This guy is a JACKASS, but a good marker! Wastes a lot of time in class.
He doesn't write anything in class. all he does is put notes on the overhead. he's a nice guy though.
I learn everything in class. This guy knows his stuff.
The class is too crowded. He should really send the guys from other sections out, but everyone really likes him.
I like the course.
Can't wait to have him again in ELE428
I learned a lot.
The class is never boring. He really keeps it moving.
He's tough, but fair.
Are professors married? Just curious... (cold blooded, huh?)
Stupid course. It's 2 courses in one: Programming and Algorithm concepts. I must say that he presents the theory very well with his slides though. REMEMBER TO READ THE CORMEN (esp. diagrams!!) AND DO THE PROBLEM SETS.
Very friendly, hello my friends. the material is very organized. The only bad thing was he uses slides. The course is garbage. the labs are out of this world and have nothing to do with the theory. read both books and know what the books have in common
What can I say. the worst Prof. I ever had. stupid guy.
Maybe he teaches good,or makes time to answer your questions, but he is very weird.I didn't realize it in the begining.I thought he is nice and every thing, but he is nosy and say stuff that are not related to course or school when you go to his office.
Great professor. Don't miss any of his classes.
He sucks man. i think the person who hired him was **** or something. just one advise : don't go to his office. full of B.S.
sucker doesnt know what he is saying. Im always confused in the class
Outsanding prof, you will learn a lot in his class and also very helpful in the labs.
Very professional. Knows his stuff. Had him for ELE328. I am lucky to be in his section. My friends tried to change to his section, but the department didn’t allow them. Don’t miss any of the classes and do all assignments. Read very carefully all pages from the textbook that he recommends in class.
Not that much helpful.
Very good professor!
He is an excellent professor, very nice and friendly. He is also very helpfull when you need help. He helped me out alot in my studies and because of him I recieved good marks in the classes.
The course is not organized at all. The book is crap and impossible to read. The prof is very helpful and he tries hard to expalain. If you know your discrete math well and you know C well you will have no problem.
LOVE THIS PROF. GOOD NOTES, MAKE SURE U UNDERSTAND
This course itself was not hard at all. However, his general animosity for students gets in the way. He seems to think most of us are stupid (some are) and is not open to new ideas. Told our class that flip-flop to flip-flop conversion was on the final, but it never appeared.I did not need a prof like him and ended up learning from the textbook.
It would be good to have him for third year too. He was a really good prof.
agha reza salare
He is pretty good. makes sure u understand everything. clear and nice.
His class is too full. He should ask the students who don’t belong to his section to leave the class.
he sucks big time
He is suck man. He doesnt know how to teach. He confuses himeself and ourselves. always give power point presentation that I dont like. Only good thing is that he is a easy marker. but u can not learn anything from him
He is pretty good. makes sure u understand everything. clear and nice.
He is a really good prof. We even voted for him for Prof of the Year.
He is really good. I was always very motivated in his course.
I like his class. Don't be late!
I am lucky to be in his section but his class is to full.
he sucks!
He is horrible!
Sucks big time. doesn't know **** about programming and tries to teach algorithm, what a joke!. Ryerson at its worst.
he donno anything.. he comes with the powerpoint slides created by the book's author, and reads and learns with us at the same time. QUESTIONS?? come see me in office hours.. argggggggg
He's crap His famous quote is "IT'S IN THE BOOK", gives crapy examples and the stuff he tells you to copy done he doesn't even give you enough time to copy that
Don't waste your time with this guy.
He is the best. He got the 2007 IEEE PROFESSOR OF THE YEAR AWARD. He really cares about his students. Most of us love him. If you work with him you will learn a lot.
The guy two ratings below me: 1) It was the IEEE Ryerson Branch Prof. of the Year award, not just the IEEE. 2) I can't believe he won that award. He does not deserve it: a) He can't teach for the life of him. Does not know the material well enough to teach it. b) Very pretentious; does not care for students like that person said.
i love the guy...extermley helpful
He is not the best,he DOES NOTTT deserve the IEEE award(branch),he does NOT care about his students ,he never shows up in his office hours (Kind of screwing all the time),if you work with him GOD helps you because u'll forget the basics so stay away from this "Professor of the Year" hehe
I dat de question to ur answer?
"Year of professor IEEE branch", the biggest joke in this world!!! This guy is a completely idiot.
Doesn't know anything I mean it nothing at all he better to swich to another carrer
he does NOT care about his students .he is very bad
Demonstrates zero interest in teaching. Favours his own people.
He is the worst. you don't get anything from him so do NOT believe the rating below me because this is a BIG JOKE !!!everybody knows that how can you say such a crap ?!!
he is awsome
PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!!!
coe 328 & coe428, A lot of ppl dont like the guy, but hes a good prof and does care about his students, teachs you other methods that are differnt from the text book. he does however favor ppl from his country which is what i dont like about him, overall one of the best profs in ryerson and you do learn when u attend his class's
I will try my best to avoid this prof's class.
More politician than professor. If he likes you he'll give you good marks. If he doesn't like you for whatever reason watch out. He's not professional and will take out his feelings on people if provoked, watch out.
r u kidding me? this prof was crap!he didnt know the stuffs well enough. as i c it, he frequently skipped the lecture and let his "phd student" be the substitute...and he only favours pretty girls and ppl from his own country. i know this comment is mean for a prof who is still teaching but im telling the truth.
He does explain the concepts pretty clearly, but he has a habit of favoring people from his own country. A decent prof overall
Good professor but like others have said. He tends to favor people of his own race. If he likes you you'll do well. If you're a nobody then he won't really care about you. He tends to care for his A Students while leaving the rest in the dust. I used to have respect for him but not anymore.
Not the greatest prof for a programming course. Doesn't really explain the concepts very well. Plus he has a habit of favouring his own race. Go to Olivia Das's class instead if you can.
Do you really like this prof because he solves the hardest problem a day before the exam leaving other students with another prof to have no idea how to do it? I am very happy I will never have him again, and I will always remeber him as MODULO-59
Hard but fair! Very helpful, more research oriented
I learned a lot in COE328 and COE428. Go to his classes if you really want learn something otherwise if you want to pass only, change your section. I especially like his interactive style.
He knows really his stuff and how to teach. I am doing a summer job now.He shows tricks that you don?t learn from books. I am using all his tips in my job. Some friends thought it is easy to get marks from him.Don?t listen to lazy ones.Sedaghat told me passing my courses without learning isn?t good enough to keep good Paid jobs. I understand him now
The worse prof in ECE department,He didn't teach you any stuff, before the exam, he just leak the some exam content, Never take his Course if you really want learn sth
Best Prof ever. I was in his 328 last term and hoping to get in one of his 428 sections for winter term. At the end of digital systems we designed our own microprocessor. Everybody wants to be in his class. Don?t fool around with him. Doesn?t work!
He imposes attention to the people from his race and tends to be interested to explain staffs to the beautiful girls. And he normally doesn't teach you everything.
Best prof in department. His class is always full. I learned in his class very useful stuff and using it now in 538 class. Don't miss any of his classes.
I attended as mature student in his course last semester. I am working in industry and after many years of experience still I could improve my fundamental knowledge in his class. Dr. Sedaghat is an excellent Professor and teacher. He is fair to all students. His class is too full. He is very popular. Don?t miss any of his classes.
I am retaking the course to get a better mark. I am glad to be in his section. One of my favorite profs. His classes are too full. Go early to get a seat.
There is no such an awefull "Associate professor" in the entire university. He practically eliminated the programming part of the course. Doesn't show up in his office hours. "lack of knowledge" is suffering him and for sure all students.
Absolutely terrible prof, if you have him you might as well stay home and learn everything yourself...
I wasn't even in his class and I would attend it because he was a fantastic professor that really knew what he was doing inside and out, I read some of the other comments and I was really surprised how anyone could even remotely find a problem with him.
Not Good.

He is really good. Best prof. He got the 2011 Teaching Award selected by students. I don?t miss any of his classes.
Here is my rating. I do not like his lectures. Not useful at all. He is very difficult to communicate with in class, and whatever he does say makes no sense.
had him in 328 and 428 ... he was good in 328, he seemed to know stuff and i did good in that course ... having him in COE428 and he doesnt know what is going on in this class .. its like he is totally different prof ,
The topic is very difficult but the prof makes it very clear to us. It seems easy but it is not. He is the best prof in the department. The book is confusing.
He got the 2011 teaching award selected from students. He deserve it. Fair and helpful. the best prof in the department.
Genuinely wants his students to learn. Spends plenty of time on a single topic to make sure everybody fully understands.
Please PLEASE DO NOT TAKE REZA for coe428.. he cannot teach that course.
I give you my word that he is the best prof everr, Im taking COE 328 with him, And He is crystal clear on his explanation, All students from other sections come to our class. He is simply the best, presents ideas in a simple and understandable format. DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR By picking him as your prof, I really mean it. He is the best! - Z.S
He is the only prof at Ryerson who actually cares for his students. Words can't describe how well his teaching skills are.
The best
Amazing professor for COE328. Genuinely interested in his students succeeding & has a comprehensive understanding of the material. Lays a solid foundation for the course material within the lectures. Works on problems ranging from easy to hard & asks students to solve the questions with him, and goes around checking answers within lecture. HELPFUL!
His marking is very unfair.
He has one policy, he either likes you or hates you. If you are a research student and you mention that to him, he'll mark you well, else it's the impression that you built with him.
Honestly, a lot of people give him low ratings just because he is a hard marker. People that complain don't try enough. If you want to pass this class, ATTEND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HIS LECTUERS. He tells you specifically what is going to be on the midterm, practices with you, and won't move on until the whole class is confident with the material.
Go to his class. All the other 328 profs are really bad he explains everything amazing. Best prof ever gets you to do examples in class. Plus goes around and helps while you solve them. I had another prof before midterm but started going to his class after midterm. I barely had to study for final because I learned everything in his class.
I lost interest in this course because of him.
Grading? What grading? It is more like toss of coin. Very unfair.
He is honestly the best prof if you show him you care. If he sees you participating in class, asking questions if you dont understand, he will help you out ALOT. He's is very sweet and genuinely nice and cares for you to do well if you show him you want to.
the only problem with reza is he dont provide any lecture notes. u have to keep copying his slides . he leaves u to the beauty of the text which is very confusing !!! i recommend to ignore copying the slides and pay 100 % attention to the explanation and get the notes from any nerd. very helpful at office hours, survived by doing home work !!
doesnt provide lecture notes or any supplementary materials. this makes the course difficult because the textbook is complicated. He's one of the best professors ive had at ryerson, however.
helpfull and if you ask him questions n exam he will indirectly help you
The class was easy, the material was easy to understand, but gets a little tough around the end of the course. If u go to class and pay attention in and do some of the homework, you will pass the course. You will have to attend all his class since he does not post notes.
He doesn't post the lecture notes. Attendance is must! He explains the concept until the last person understands it. If you don't understand anything just ask in the class or during the office hrs, he loves to help students!
He will go out of his way to make sure that you understand the concepts he teaches. Great prof and great person
he is a good prof. The only thing you will get annoyed of is he does not provide slide on blackboard, U have to search youtube and google to study from in addition to the book. he explains very well , like to teach and clarify things at his office hours. tries his best to make his students get A and A+. his lecture is fully beneficial.
good prof, available at office hours and willing to help as much as he can. cares about his students to get A in the course. negative side is he doesn't provide notes, u will have to search youtube and google in addition to the book.
Amazing prof, don't need to read the book or any other external sources to do well in the class. Schedules extra office hours, if needed. Does lots of problems in class to prepare for midterms, exam, and labs.
he is a good but he marks the exams really harsh.. if there is an really small mistake in your solution you are gonna lose the whole mark for that question :
nice prof. likes to have all his students scored A. gives alot of hints what to expect in the exams. doesn't provide lecture notes. attendance is MUST to copy the notes and understand of course. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
He is way better that other professors so yes go to the lectures and try online MIT courses aswell!
Reza is an amazing prof. He really encourages students to do their best. If you need any help understanding anything, he will clarify it for you. For me going to his class was enough to learn everything, I didn't do any extra studying or homework. However, he doesn't post slides online, so make good notes. He doesn't allow phones in class either.
I had this prof for both coe328 and coe428. In coe328, hes a really good prof and i actually recommend him for that course. He knows his stuff and explains things really well, just go to class and ur good. But, for coe428, do not take him. He cannot explain concepts and hes really confusing for that course. So coe328, take him, coe428, dont.
He is a prolific professor who has been chosen the Professor of the Year for 2015/16. All that you are required to do, is attend the classes regularly and complete the assignments on time. He is the best teacher and professor I ever had.
He is the best prof you can have for this course. He's straight forward, knows his stuff and is very clear of what you need to know for the exam. If you have this course try to switch into his section. He doesn't mind if you sit in but will always give preference to his own students and not be available to you for office hours. NO MATTER WHAT.
Very hard marker Rude
He is really bad marker and he doesn't believe in part marks
Came to the wrong exam room. Got a zero. Love this guy recommend him for coe 328 and 428. He will always make sure you are understanding concepts clearly.
Good prof but very Hard marker, doesn't believe in part marks.
Good prof but very Hard marker, attend Dr Reza's lecture but have dr Vadim as prof. Dr vadim is easy marker and you can attend Dr Reza's lecture.
He's iight, his slides have some intentional errors to keep you on your toes but I wonder if it does more harm than good. Otherwise easy to pay attention to and understand
Amazing prof, knows how to teach, doesn't know how to mark. Get into Vadim class, and go to his lectures. You'll learn from Reza and get easy marks.
He is the best Ryerson has. He makes sure everyone understands before moving ahead with the material. His lectures are amazing and he makes you love the course. If you go to every class you'll leave knowing everything you need to and more.
Does a ton of examples in the lecture, which I found more helpful than any other resource. Students were sitting on the floor just to be in this man's lectures! Pay attention and you'll be fine.
Amazing Prof, very interactive lectures, a bit of tough grader, but would give his students extra assignments so they can boost their grades. Every week more people start coming to his class , by the end of the semester people were grabbing desks from other classes or sitting on the floor. Don't know about other subjects but 328 is his thing.
I had him for EES 508. He is quite easy on Mechatronics students but I have heard he's more strict on Electrical/Computer engineering students. He is one of the best profs I've ever had, make sure you attend the lectures otherwise it's impossible to pass.
Dr. Reza is one of the only professors I have come across at Ryerson who genuinely cares about his students. Not only is he a great lecturer and proficient in his field, he makes a boring course with boring content very interesting. He is very motivational and he is my motivation for continuing my engineering degree. He is the BEST PROF EVER!!!!
Enroll in another professor's section, and go to Reza's lectures. You get the benefit of having a decent lecturer, and none of the bs grading that comes with it.
this prof always put the students down, he gets them hard exams. he hates how he have to teach in spring or he wont be the coordinator. on a rate out of 10. i will give him low gate
this prof he always advice students to drop the course
The man really pushes you to bring on your A game. Sure he's a tough marker and all, but he's like that for a good and legitimate reason, which I completely agree with - so you can work your ass off to EARN that mark. It's the inspiration he radiates that fuels your confidence. I've never worked this hard, and learnt this effectively for a course.
"I remember your face..."
I love this man, such a passionate prof. His marking is tough, which makes you want to learn to perfection. Only prof I've ever wanted to make proud. He scared us with the failure rate of the course, because he wants us to succeed. There's also alot of A+'s because of him. When he says "It will be in the exam, hundred percent" he's not kidding.
Idk why he has such low reviews, probably because he tells the slackers to rate him. He explains things concisely and is patient when people are slow. Very energetic and teaches really well but his classes are run sometimes poorly. I did well though so I can't complain, just go to his classes.
Best 428 prof, but he teaches 328 way better. I wasn't even in his class, but went to his lectures. He goes so slow to make sure everyone understands. Midterm is much harder than the exam, even though I got the same mark on both. Don't try copying on labs, you will get caught and get 0, just learn it yourself it will improve your programming skills
Dr. Sedaghat is one of the best professors Ive had at Ryerson, he is very clear and stops to make sure everyone has a firm understanding of the material. The low reviews are probably from people who slacked off in his class as he states from the beginning that COE328 is a challenging course and you need to practice. Great prof and great guy.
In the beginning I loved this course but honestly he goes so fast on lectures that are a majority of your exam. In his review he just makes us do questions from old exam he doenst teach it or anything. Hate this course cuz of him and I regret even taking computer Engineering should have done comp sci instead.
Awful
As with any class, if you do the work required to succeed, there's no reason you wont. Attend all lectures and practice and the class will be a breeze.
Reza's the best for 328. The only prof out of all to properly explain the lecture content, give exam hints, and sometimes point out the interview questions. The exam is going to have several versions but he covers all the topics. His assignment questions are useful and also prepares you for the labs.
Best proff. No one can teach this course better than him. Ignore all the bad comments cuz people skip classes and don't put effort and then complain. This course has alot of content and you have to attend every single lecture, take good notes in class and review them after each lecture and practice alot of past midterms/exams and it's an easy A.
Best proff ever. Had to get to his class 15 mins early to get seats. People literally fought to get seats in his class cuz of how amazing his lectures were.
He gives detailed and well constructed lectures, is happy to go over topics more than once if he feels the students aren't understanding properly.
The midterm is all practical, yet no examples are really covered. Everything taught is theoretical. The course is taught very poorly.
He is the best professor. His lectures are crystal clear and repeats everything until everyone understands the material. He is very patient and you can ask as many as questions you want. Do the assignments, attend the lectures, and listen to exam hints you will end up with A. Do not copy the labs.
He is perfect ,he explains clears ,nobody skip his class ,because ,his class is interesting ,I like his class
DONT TAKE COE328 FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SPRING. Lectures are like end of chapter summaries, it's like he is in a TED talk. He used slides for his lectures, he does not work through examples with you (which is needed). Pace is extremely fast, as he barely covers the core topic he is able to fly through the content. Watch NESO on utube life savers.
crystal clear. The best prof. I ever had. Very professional. Looking forward to have him again next year. Don't miss any of his classes. He is very helpful and gives good tips for the exams.
I took EE 8504 - Adv VLSI/FPGA Sys Design & Opt Al. it was a great course with awesome professor, Dr. Sedaghat. this course gave me the chance to connect all of the hardware and electronics knowledge together! the professor has a great knowledge and experience in the field. it's a big chance to learn a lot about VLSI and chip design.
Very unproffessional guy. He should change his name to Reza Sewerrat
Okay i don't understand why he does this but he doesn't share any of his notes. His answers to questions we ask are so vague if not completely useless. During the corona pandemic this guy still won't release his notes instead giving us YouTube links. And won't tell us how the grades are being distributed. Just awful.
Doesen't upload his notes. He goes slow in class but his examples are easy and basic. The stuff on the midterm is much harder and he doesn't go in depth. Would still recommned going to lectures because the other profs are much worse but Reza is a really hard marker so be in the other profs section but go to reza's lectures.
Doesn't share slides even during the pandemic made final exam 10% so nobody can get a decent mark if they did bad on the midterm in his class he teaches slowly and basic, but on the midterm the questions are not basic at all He doesn't respect any student feedback and believes he is ALWAYS right Assumes all students are bunch of cheaters
put zero effort to conduct online lectures. didnt even post slides. just posted youtube links and some random notes that arent even his. already a bad prof but i expected a bit more during this pandemic. but thats just reza sewerrat for you. 10/10 would not recommend.
dude does not reply to emails. right now would be the time to tho bc this is literally the only way we can reach him. has zero consideration for students during this pandemic. gotta get a new course coordinator bc hes very unprofessional and clearly cannot handle his job
Super paranoid about phones. Always thinks you're taking a picture of him or his slides even if you just have your calculator out. Comes to class 15 min late daily. Also fails people (or close to fail) on labs even if they didn't cheat. Avoid
This guy refuses to give proper course material during Rona and instead gives us bad youtube links. He comes late to lectures and suffers from paranoia. Its a shame that reza sewer-rat he is the course coordinator, master splinter would not be proud.
Reza likes taking things slow and his lectures become a chore to sit through if you understand the underlying material. He quizzes the class (not for marks) randomly and goes through every problem step by step everytime, multiple times. On the other hand, if you don't understand, Reza is bae. This strategy is helpful and also frustrating. Good prof
Who is having reza for professor pls be aware how he doesnt post notes or bellcurve ever. Stop to take with reza go to another section. Stop to talk stop to write
What a joke. He seems to be a good professor in COE328, but not in 428. Choose anyone but him.
I had COE428 with Reza last term. I am now so interested in algorithms that I switched to software. His class was overcrowded from other sections. It was difficult to find a sit. The course was well organized and crystal clear.
I had Dr. Reza in COE428. the best prof in my last 4 terms. I have him now for COE328 in summer semester. We had our first class last Friday. Our first Zoom online class was so well done that we understood almost 90% of the material. He answered all our questions very patiently. It was same in COE428. Do all selected problems.
Online classes cause brain damage but Reza makes it a little bit easier for you. I had him in summer 2020 and he didn't make the questions unnecessarily hard just because it was online. He took the time to listen to students' feedback in our zoom sessions. He just wants you to learn and succeed in life! Fall 2020 is hell without him. I miss him :(
10/10 prof, one of my favorites at rye.
So I took COE328 with Dr. Sedaghat in summer 2020, and it went well. He's a good prof and takes feedback for future of the course and its examination process. The lecture may seem a bit long, but the content was definitely interesting. Thanks Dr. Sedaghat for a great summer semester!
For online school, the man is a joke. I did fine, but that was only because I had to do the full course by myself, no thanks to this man.
Horrible prof. Does not care about his students. Worst course I've ever taken.
The professor claims he attempts to make a stress free environment but created a 20 mc final exam with long answers worth 7 marks. Each of these questions required multiple steps. So ask yourself, stress-free or stress-inducing.
Worst prof ever, hardest test ive ever taken. Gave no outline as to what will be on the exam and genuinely does it care about his students. He was never willing to help and expected us to learn the whole course ourselves.
online class was a complete mess. It's hard enough that we've been at home all year long and to top that we get put into stress with these exams and labs. Lab manuals are terribly laid out and do not help at all if you're new to this (which you obviously will be) and not being able to go back in questions is just awful.
Didn't clarify final exam details until the night before, the course outline was not clear and was different than the ones provided by other profs, if it's online I wouldn't suggest having him as your prof
bruh what was that
Stay away!
Avoid this prof
As the course coordinator, he misleads his students. He stated during a lecture that he was not in favour of online proctoring. However, it was later leaked that he was in favour of it. However, if that's the case you should clearly state your stance instead of being passive. It's difficult to tell what else was said that turned out not to be true
Absolute worst prof I've ever had in my 2 years at the school. Avoid him at all cost and if your stuck in his class be ready to self teach everything cause he won't teach anything.
Best prof. He tries that most students understand the material. I didn't miss any of his classes.
I learned a lot in his class. Dr. Reza is very patient and answers all questions. He gives very helpful hints for the exam. Don't miss his exam reviews. I hope I will have him again in next terms.
Very knowledgeable. Got my grade today and I was lucky having him as my Prof.. He takes time to answer each question. Sometimes takes long time answering a question . His lectures are crystal clear. I almost understood everything.
Reza teaches very well and has crystal clear lectures and examples. As a professor teaching is not an issue at all. His coordination leaves a lot to be desired as he wasn't clear when giving exam instructions and made the final brutal and confusing. He also doesn't want to show you your marks. Overall, go to his lectures but avoid him as your prof.
My best Prof. until now. Great lecture. I hope I will have Professor Sedaghat in upper year again.
I am happy with my grade. I agree with others, he really teaches 328 very well and very clear. I have him in 428. I will write about 428 when the term is over.
Amazing guy. He makes sure each and everyone understands and explains the key concepts many times so that you dont forget. The tests are way harder than the problems solved in the class so make sure you do the textbook questions. His lectures are mainly to understand concepts
As a professor and teacher, he is great. He is very knowledgeable as he has been teaching this course for many many years, I believe since 2000. When it comes to testing he is rough and stubborn. He gives unclear instructions about the test and then doesn't release the test papers and gives someone hard exams. Take another professor, go to his clas
My poor mark is due to me making some poor decisions with labs. However, this course isnt too hard to pass. The problem is reza and other profs teach one thing, but exams are completely irrelevant.
He is actually a very clear and thorough teacher. His lectures are engaging and somewhat fast-paced, he is very approachable during office hours as well. But, I wish he covered the lab material more, the labs are tough and the TAs don't do a very good job of explaining either. Other than that, just study and you will definitely do well.
Really cares about his students. Every lecture, he pauses after every main checkpoint just to make sure if students are caught up with his pace. Never rushes anything and answers every doubt in full detail. Reviews his midterms very well. Excellent prof.
He is helping students for sure, he respects us. He is good at teaching. He asks for feedbacks regarding the exam, and he ignores it totally in the next evaluation. that is hilarious. Ask questions and Learn from him. He is a very good guy.
The test materials are completley different than what he taught in the class. He is trying his best to teach students. The labs are damn hard. We cant get help from TA's relavant to labs. He doesnt do any good practices for exams. He makes the test 10 times harder than what we learn in class.
Great of All Time. He is incredibly patient and would walk me through concepts slowly until I fully understood what was missing in my understanding. He did this for anyone in our section. We were all very disappointed when he announced a research sabbatical, and I hope to be taught by him again before I graduate :)
The class is easy but his attitude is kind of off when it comes to you asking questions
I got into an argument with him because I left class early because he wouldnt help me I raise my hand multiple times and then decided to be petty and try to mark me absent because I left early because I wasnt getting any help The class is easy just be ready to teach yourself because his attitude is kind of off
Often over-explains simple topics and under-explains the more complicated topics later on, which is a problem because most of the marks in the midterm/final exam will be based on the later-topics. Overall, the professor cares to see his students succeed, but do not expect any curves or mark-boosting.
Reza is a weird professor in the sense that most of the time he seems like he cares about students but at the same time its a gamble on whether or not you learn something or not. I think if he just did a different teaching style, like doing more practice problems where HE does them rather than US, we'd understand the concepts better. PLZ REZA DO IT
He's a professor teaching a very tough course, but is very passionate about his work. He doesn't mince words much, but usually that just brings more enjoyment to his classes. He is always ready to answer questions, and his lectures make a hard course easy to understand.
great professor, tough course. prof is very patient and willing to redo examples and points that may have been missed. also humorous so the lectures arent extremely boring. he is very honest about the course and life as an engineer in general. overall great prof, just be sure to practice and do the examples he recommends.
He is amazing
A very charismatic professor with highly engaging lectures. He shows that he cares for his students, but his unorthodox teaching style can feel disorganized at times. There doesn't tend to be a consistent pace or structure for his content delivery.
He gives very good lectures and makes sure every student knows what the topic means. He encourages you to sit close and pay attention. While his course is more theory, you can easily apply it to your labs. Overall recommend him.
During lectures, he makes sure everyone understands the topic discussed clearly and will not move on until they do. Although he waits until everyone understands, he explains the topics very well so the class wont be stuck. He cares about his students, making sure they are paying attention to the lecture and not on their phones, sleeping etc.
Dr. Sedaghat is a top professor. He's an expert at what he teaches and is genuinely passionate about it. He starts teaching assuming you have 0 knowledge on the topic and gradually elevates the difficulty. His exams are extremely fair and it's easy to finish this course with an A if you study well. Definitely choose him if you have the choice.
Reza is a passionate professor who cares about his students, but his unconventional teaching style can feel disorganized at times. The course is challenging, but Reza is willing to re-explain concepts. Using Unstuck study AI and the textbook can greatly help with understanding.
Very kind and caring professor, he recognizes every student in his section. His lectures are very clear, and he is willing to re-explain concepts.
Very nice guy but the materials given to work on your own are absolute garbage and sometimes he isn't that clear on what's going to be on the exam.
he really cares about his students. A lot of concepts are foreign so it's important to go to lectures, the textbook is confusing and you can easily fall behind. He doesn't mind re explaining, and takes a lot of time to answer questions. Hes considerate and funny and makes complex topics so much simpler. Would take a course with him again
stopped going to asads for this guy bc he's AMAZING. explains concepts very well, and truly cares, ensuring we do well and actually know/understand the material. He gives us a good foundation before the exams and makes sure its fair. he even moved our midterm so that we wouldn't have 3 midterms in 4 days so that we could do well.
Ready to help no matter what, office hours are very helpful.
This guy is the GOAT. His teaching style is excellent, though he's strict about phones and cameras. Attend his lectures to avoid confusion. Always open to extra office hours timing. He tries to ensure that everyone understands the material. He's also lenient. Beware, he writes his Rate My Prof review. I might be him.
I took COE328 with Professor Reza , my experience was not positive. The Reza's teaching style was difficult to follow, and I often found the lectures to be unclear and disorganized.
amazing, super caring for all students, gives hints for all exams and midterms, redo slides and its easy, top 2 profs so far
Professor Sedaghat seems to care about class performance, but poorly explains content in a rushed manner. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews, he writes them himself. The head TA was also incredibly difficult to understand. A friend and I were often picked on and ridiculed in class despite eagerness to learn. Please avoid him at all costs.
The professor made us sit in front of the class and was particularly strict with students who were pulling out their phones during class.
He's a great prof — I got 91% on the midterm mostly because of him. But Lab 6 is insanely hard, and when I asked if he could explain it instead of the head TA (sweet person but not helpful), he said he can't do that. This lab feels like being dropped blindfolded into a forest. I hope you see this and explain lab 6 yourself from now on sir
Seems to care about students learning and wants them to improve. Doesn't just read off the slides or copy the textbook word for word. Does a lot of examples with the class makes us try the questions and walks around to check our work and tell us what we did wrong. Makes u sit at the front, not allowed to be on ur phones.
Amazing! Teaches so well!
I respected this guy greatly up until the final exam, wherein I find out he made 'errors' (going against course convention) on his questions. I would always be ready to answer his questions (correctly) and he would never pick on me, which hurt a lot... Very caring nonetheless. Easy course if you do textbook/slide problems.
Decent prof, can be hard to understand sometimes. Cares about students, makes confusing exams.
