she is a very young, helpful, and knowledgeable professor. She is very nice and although she does not make any use of the book, she does it in consideration of the students since it is so expensive!!!!instead, she gives the students clear power point print outs written by herself and makes very good use of animations, and tech.I totally recommend he
she has been one of the best teachers ive had ever since ive been in college, she makes her lectures so interesting and easy to learn, she helps u by printing out her powerpoint notes, attendance is a must if u wanna understand what ur learning and it makes easier when u study her exams r multiple choice so if u study u got an A in the class
She is very helpful and does just about everything she can to help you. Presentations were probably the hardest part, but that's just because I suck at presenting. She makes study guides for you, prints her own notes for you, she's funny, and she's pretty. Really you can't ask for anything else in a professor. She's my favorite professor so far.
Guys. Take her.. so far the most energized prof. i've had at pcc.. pay a lot of attention abt us students. And explaining things very clearly. if u pay attention during the class n take notes. u dont even have to go home n study to get an A . no hw.. only tests (all from her lectures)
Nice Prof. but I feel her grading is a bit unfair.Or maybe it was just unfair to certain students.Take her but, make sure you compare your test answers and grades with fellow students. If she is unfair to you, you can always speak to the dean about it.Ask for you final to be mailed back to you, so you can have proof. Good-Luck
Dr. Presiado is easily the best professor I have had while at PCC. She is energetic, helpful, and always willing to answer questions. She went to a community college, so I think she really understands what it is like to be a student who struggles to balance work and school. You NEED to take her class.
she is AWESOME!! NO BOOK NEEDED. all you have to do is print out the powerpoint notes online & come to class for the lectures. there is about 4 QUIZES & EXAMS. extremely helpful and cares about the students.
She is the most beautiful prof that i have even met in PCC, she turns the difficult knowledge interesting and you would never get bored on that. Extremely helpful and she gives you hint before the quiz or test, if you want to get an A in this class, you definitely gotta study, but overall she is really kool and awesome prof.
BEAUTIFUL teacher, but that's not the point... or is it? Anyway, the class is actually really interesting and she is there to help you every step of the way. You almost don't have to buy the workbook because you can always parter with someone to do the labs. You use google earth which is fun! GREAT teacher, awesome class!
The hardest exams I have taken at PCC!!!! Study like crazy if you want an A and if its offered, do the extra credit.
Dr. Presiado is the best prof i have ever met, her class is a little bit challenging, but feel free to ask her and she will illustrate everything to you, of course you have to study to get a A in her class, and all of her questions are from the notes that she give you, why is it to get a A?Because you dont study, there is no piece of cake in college.
All of the other feedback is accurate. You will need to study if you want an "A". But, her lectures are interesting and she is very open to questions and clarifying things -- even right before exams. Granted there is no assigned homework, but you must study if you want to do well on the tests.
Dr. Presiado is the best prof. her class is interesting and you will love to study the physical geography that is taught by her. her class is not hard, you just study and memorize the notes, you will get a A. if someone thinks her class is hard, then you dont have to take other physical science at all because hers is the easiest one to understand.
She is a great professor! Even though I got a C, because her tests are somewhat difficult, I loved her. She loves what she teaches and tries to keep us entertained while understanding it all. No homework, no projects or presentations, 4 quizzes and 4 tests, not cumulative. Awesome teacher. No book needed either.
Presiado is such a doll. Her class is very interesting and you can tell she loves what she does. She's always there if you need her help or have any questions. She grades fairly and her exams are based on her slides so don't even bother buying the book!!! Don't waste your money. Just use the libraries copy if need be.
Presiado is AWESOME! I learned so much and she relates everything to how it effects you and why you should care! I would take her class again even if I didn't have to just to learn. 4 Quizzes 4 Exams if you briefly review the power point notes you'll do fine. No final No midterm. She is plan out awesome and so SMART!
She's AMAZING. She knows her subject very, very well. You don't need to buy the book. Her notes are so clear and she's very willing to spend time (outside of class) with you if you just don't get something.
4 exams, GPS activity (20pts), Rubric Quiz (20pts), Google Quize (20pts), Writing Assignment (30pts), Picture Assignment (30pts)... = fairly easy, just show up to lectures and take notes. All exams are done through Blackboard, not in-class and you have a week to do them.
She is really nice but sometimes I don't get her with the presentation when she says it an easy 10 pt ---cuz really you don't get that easy "A" that you think you'll get by standing up and presenting. The test can become tricky (A FEW TIMES) and you ONLY have 40 mins to complete the test which sucks for me! I STILL RECOMMEND HER!
Easy A. Awesome teacher, extremely enthusiastic about the subject. Teaches geography through a scientific/global interest perspective (tries to make the subject interesting and pertaining to our lives). Everything is done online, you usually have a week to complete them.
Great Professor. Very nice and helpful. Lectures are interesting and she presents material in a useful way. Assignments and tests are all done online. Text book is available online, so that helps with expenses. Take her class, you won't regret it!
attendance is essential, if you miss lectures you can fail her exams. Exams are difficult. Lectures easy to understand. No textbook. Uses blackboard, exams and assignments, syllabus, are all online. Helpful if you bring laptop to class. Very nice passionate teacher. Knows geog like the back of her hand. Has one presentation and light group work.
She is the coolest! Challenging yet insightful. Take her!
Shes the best, no doubt. TAKE HER.
easy class but tedious test. she is very helpful just looking for her students to succeed. she is very passionate about geog which makes it mo interesting. she also relates everything to our lives making it easier and funner to learn. best teacher!!
One of the greatest professors I've taken at PCC. Lectures are crystal clear, tells you exactly what the test are going to be on. You have to be SUPER stupid and lazy to not get an A or a B. DOn't be absent, or else you'll miss powerpoints, and powerpoints are the tests, so go figure. She is very enthusiastic about what she teaches. Very pretty.
Great teacher. She cares about her subject, but cares even more for her students success. Attend class and keep organized notes and you'll do very well in this class. She does a lot of work to get the students resources from the web, so you don't have to break the bank on a textbook!
Dr. Presiado is whip-smart, fun and hot. She's also incredibly helpful and wants all her students to succeed. What more could you ask for in a prof? It's too bad she's married, though.
Took online. Super awesome professor. Clear lectures. Watch all lectures and understand them and you will get good scores on Exams. Tons of extra credit. Got an A no problem!
Took her online... No book... save money! Just follow the syllabus, do ALL the study guides and practice tests to prep for exams. Exams are open notes, but they are timed for one hour... Very interactive with the class. Extra credit too! :) Got an A! You have no excuses if you didn't pass this class...
Took her class online. She was super helpful. She assigned video commentary for her subjects though, so be prepared to talk about what you're learning.
Honestly, she's one of the greatest professors reason being she didn't require use of textbook whatsoever. Saved us a lot of money. Easy A if you put in the required work. Open note ONLINE exams, quizzes. Only 2 projects and 2 exams. Recommended.
I took her online class (Spring 2013). She was very clear and helpful. No textbook needed because she has a free online textbook. Must pay attention to small details from her lectures because her exams are 100% from video lectures. She is very nice and will try her best to help you.
Ok class.. But be warned the LECTURES DO NOT REALLY HELP ON THE EXAM. You are better off just skimming through the powerpointslides. But make sure you read the online textbook. Her projects and discussions were so pointless.. I spent more time trying to figure out how to make them than actually learning the material. Has way too many group projects
Her online class is an easy A if you want it - BUT don't take it for granted, you have to work. The key to success in her class is to A) Study her video lectures very closely and B) Ask her questions. It's very important to work early as possible to give yourself time to clear things up with her because I promise you will need to!
The most useless class I've ever taken in my life. Assignments were pointless and very time consuming. Does NOT grade easily on the group projects. Highly NOT recommended!
Good class and great professor. Recommend taking her. Do all assignments and take notes on the lectures and you'll do great. Two group projects and one individual. Attend all face to face meetings.
I wouldn't say it's Dr. Presiado's fault, but this hybrid class was horrible. Maybe all hybrid classes are like this. The system was a disaster, points could be lost if not pay close attention when submitting assignments/peer reviews. Didn't learn much, panicked during group projects. Not that hard as a class, but requires work to get an A.
wanted to learn something but just disappointed. the online textbook is free, but just horrible. not beginner-friendly. the class is overall a failure. the prof is nice but shes almost non-existent in this class. pointless group projects. discussions are weak imitations of class discussions. BS your way to an A.
Do all your work in advance! You're allowed one retake on the reading quizzes. She doesn't answer her emails in a timely matter, which is a huge drawback. Also, she assigns two group assignments, which can impact your grade severely especially if you have bad apples in the group. Be prepared to make YouTube videos based on the material.
Took her hybrid class and it was great! We only met 6 times and everything else was online via discussion/quizzes/tests/group projects. Her class is very straight forward, exams are open book, but the only annoying thing is the two group projects which can definitely hurt your grade depending on your group members.
She doesn't even teach the subject. Instead students are split up into group to teach class every week. Unlike other profs, her online content is not her teaching either, but random internet links. Very obvious she hasn't even read the textbook. Shockingly bad class. Getting lazy group membs will lower your grade. She will show no mercy.
She is a very nice professor. She is available during the week to answer questions by email. I took her online class. Be on time, study ahead & pay attention to assignments & group projects due dates, then you will be fine. Participate field trip extra credit, its so FUN. Not a durable class for lazy & unorganized students. Thx Dr. Presiado.
She was such an amazing professor. Everyone in the class was like a family. However, she can be a little tough with assignments. Don't let that refrain you from taking this class. She is very passionate. Her speeches are motivational!! If you want that A, you gotta work for it. There are no tests. Just a preponderance of work.
She is very fun and cool! she makes the Subject interesting and fun to learn. If you are a lazy person and Not into group projects, I won't recommend this class for you! Be careful, most of the class grade is based on Group projects. If you want to pass the class, you gotta do well in group projects and Do Not miss an assignment. I Recommended it
She's a good women a little tough on RRJ and any writting assignment but she'll help if you ask
If geography is your life, you will love this class. If not, you will most likely regret taking it. It is a 1 unit class, but has the homework of a hard 6 unit class. She is helpful. But the amount of homework is beyond reasonable. Most of your grade comes from group work, and other students will grade your work. Be warned!
Easy class. Didn't really learn a thing besides being very organized with your assignments. If you're not a geog major and just need this class for GED, take her hybrid class. There's a lot of work and she does grade hard but if you try, an easy A is there.
I took her hybrid class and during our face-to-face class meetings, she was extremely energetic and hilarious. She made a class that I was completely disinterested in at first pretty interesting. It's a pretty heavy course though because there is a lot of work to do each week and there are a total of 4 online tests and 2 group projects.
Here's the deal. This teacher is tough. Her quizzes are difficult and long. She isn't clear of what she expects either. She isn't understanding and expects you to be a "geography pro" when she teacher Geo 1. Except a lot of homework and she makes you work for the grade. Don't take her if you want to get this class over with. She's tough
This was the worst online class I have taken. Presiado is not clear on what she wants, the modules are scrambled and confusing. Expect 1 - 2 weeks for a response to an email and (literally) 1 - 2 months for assignments to be graded. Exam prep is pre-filled in with wrong answers. Every exam was graded wrong and I had to notify her to fix my grade.
Terrible online class filled with busy work that doesn't help you learn anything. Doing an group project for an online only class makes no sense whatsoever. Have an A but this is still a waste of time class.
Pretty easy class, just make sure to read the textbook assigned readings. I learned a lot, and since it is an online class, there were many writing assignments, I think one a week.
DO NOT TAKE THIS ONLINE CLASS!! This was definitely NOT an easy A class by any means - she makes you do pointless group work in an ONLINE setting, and it ends up being a disaster. Her quizzes were full of mistakes and tricky questions. There are so many other easy classes out there if you just want to fulfill GE credits. DON'T TAKE WORLD GEOGRAPHY!
Do not take this class online! She has you do multiple online group projects that end up in disaster, she grades super strictly for a GE class, she is slow to respond to emails, assigns a heavy dose of pointless written projects and presentations, and is not an easy A. If you dont need this class, dont take it. There are better classes out there!!!
Definitely a lot of work and weekly assignments but nothing no one can handle. Just do your work and you should at least get an B or A. I honestly think the people with bad reviews were just lazy and did not put in work. Although I could see how the online group project could be difficult especially if you have a bad group but luckily I did not.
Took this class for a GE. She grades unnecessarily hard, really cares about geography and makes sure you know it. There is an group project for an online class, which is pointless and unnecessary. I understand that people tend to slack off in online classes, but she makes you go above and beyond for this class. only answers emails monday-friday
She provides the book for you online which is AMAZING one less expense. Shes a tough grader but she will give you credit for effort. the book helps on the tests. Shes very quick to response and posted the grades as soon as class was over.
This professor is the abosulte best!! Super easy class! The project in the end is super easy. Never read the book. One assignment per week. Took this online and it was very easy!
She's not bad at all, I just hate how much by the book she goes by. If you're planning on taking her for college one beware you might have more homework here than any other class. She takes everything to seriously, great person just not my type of teacher.
Her online class is SUPER easy! She's very clear when it comes to the rubric and you'll have a discussion every week. The only downfall about her Online class is that there's a group project. Midterm and Final are obviously Open Note and the textbook is free! Overall, its an easy class and she's a great professor. Offers extra credit as well!
Took her for Online World Geography. Also met with her a few times. Mixed feelings, although her class was pretty easy and straightforward much of the material and test seemed unprepared. Most grades not inputted till end and some conflicting answers on test etc. wouldnt try to avoid but maybe look around
Hybrid course. Very easy to pass, Lectures come straight from the text. Most assignments are not even graded until the last week of the semester. Little to no feedback. No group projects. No in class discussions. Recommended if you want an A with very little effort involved. If you want to actually be engaged take someone else.
Took the 16 week online course-Dr. Presiado is very organized with her material. She gives good feedback and is good at communicating. The reading + multimedia material is very interesting. Midterm + final are based on quizzes from the semester, so very easy and wont catch you off guard. 1 mandatory field trip that is really fun. Highly recommended
Take her if you just need an easy class. The class is straightforward, but it's so boring. She grades things WEEKS later & takes DAYS to respond to emails, but you can easily get a hold of her after class. She doesn't give feedback, & isn't very clear on some assignments, but she gives 2 tries for all the exams which I think is very generous of her
The class and material is not difficult if you put the time into completing the assignments. This was a hybrid class and we only met once a week. There is group as well.
Took this class over the summer, it's fairly easy as long as you do your work. You will need to do 3 maps for this class, and a group project. The midterm and final are both an open book multiple choice question. Overall an easy class, and would definitely recommend. 10/10 would take again
6week online class. Lots & lots of reading w/hardly any assignment for it. Grade is havily on 3 map projects which she grades tough, late, little to no feedback after grading or asking for help. So you end up w/ poor grade on maps due to lack of feedback/help. She was to assign us to a group I was never assigned to one, even after emailing.
If I had the choice to go back in time and avoiding taking this class, I would pay to do it. She takes more than two weeks to grade anything which is extremely ridiculous. I understand that professors have many students but for the "intense" assignments given it would be helpful if they were graded faster. Avoid taking this class for your safety.
If you're good with tech maybe you wouldn't making videos and voiceovers. Being in her class is fine but the tech thing is a hassle because I prefer straightforward paper work. Beware there's a group project involving a voiceover video. She grades fair, easy to pass if you can remember info. Open note and book for the hybrid class.
She's the best geography professor at pcc. She's straight forward with the grading criteria. Late work is not permitted. There are many assignments, but nothing too hard. The only assignment that was challenging was the Group Project. She WILL help if you email her. Midterm and Final are fairly easy. She's really nice and understanding.
I took Presiado for 8 weeks in Fall 2017. She's a great professor and cares about her students. You definitely have to work for your grade in the online class. The tests are unlimited amount of time and you won't find most of the test answers on google. READ THE ONLINE BOOK! I can't stress this enough. Group work is important!
Dr. Presiado cares for her students. Like one of the students said you won't find answers on Google. So you have to study hard for a good grade in this class. Group project is like your major grade turn everything in and you'll be fine. If you want extra points just go to office hours. Overall it was a great class thank you Dr. Presiado
Presiado was an amazing College One instructor. She gave out homework assignments that made you read the book that will help you understand the plot of the book. She is an uplifting professor and she wants you to pass the class and learn valuable things that will be helpful during and after college.
Her online Geography 1 class was ok and I thought she was mediocre. My main issue is that her grading system is not consistent, and her rubric doesn't specify. I felt as though she gave lower scores when you put more effort in, and higher scores when you dumb it down. She doesn't give feedback on what is wrong. The online book was uninformative.
If you do all your work you will get at least a B. There are 2-3 quizzes (no time limit) with 1 discussion every week. Tests have no time limit. At the end there's a video project. To study for this class, read the assigned topics and watch the hour long lecture for answers to the quiz and tests. No critical thinking involved in quiz/test.
Do not relax when you are taking Dr. Presiado's online class. It's an 8-week session with many assignments. Two quizzes and one discussion per week. The lecture video is the key to the quiz questions. It's not hard but you do need to pay attention and take time. Dr. Presiado is a tough grader. VERY TOUGH. Be aware of it and ask more feedbacks
Download the power points that she provides and watch her videos for the two quizzes that is assigned every week. Weekly discussion. Wont find quiz question on quizlet. Must read and study on your own, if u do, easy A class. Quizzes Midterm & Final are not timed and can take two times. Midterm and Final are usually questions from previous quizzes.
Super solid choice to complete a GE requirement. Shes very chill and easy to talk to. Weekly quizzes, 4 exams all online (open book, open note.) I would say if you don't like group projects think twice about taking her because this class is basically structured off 1 group research project.
Dr. Presiado clearly loves what she does, and has the ability to explain the material effectively! She cares about the success of her students and will set you up to succeed in her class. Several due dates & assignments so get yourself an agenda and you will be fine! Textbook is free. Video lectures and multimedia available for review, which helps!
Very kind and understanding Professor. The workload was okay (it was an 8 week course). I had a hard time with my Earthquake Kit assignment, and she was beyond understanding and gave me points even though it wasn't perfect. Thank you Professor, I recommend her! She also gives great feedback on assignments
BEST PROFESSOR AT PCC EVER!! I took her for both GEO1 and GEO2, and she was amazing for both. Her passion and excitement is really admirable, and will always help you do your best. She has a weekly quiz on canvas which is both open book and no time limit. Exams are literally the questions from the quizzes. One group project. Learned a lot, easy A!
Took her in-class GEOG 1 and online GEOG 4 classes. She's the most easiest and flexible Geography professors. She assigns weekly open book quizzes on Canvas that reflects her PowerPoints--so take good notes. Also, she assigns one group project during the semester and it counts about 1/3 of the overall grade. Overall, her classes are easy to pass.
Presidio is a great professor! Her lectures are pretty long, but really well structured and interesting. Make sure you have a notebook and pen to write down vocabulary. Even if the class is a T/Th, online quizzes and assignments will be due on Sunday night, so be aware of that. Again, I loved her class and I would take her again. Some EC as well.
LOVED Rhea so much! She's super passionate, and makes class exciting. We went outdoors (hiking) quite a few times to learn. Take a lot of notes on her lecture's as its all on the canvas quizzes.
TAKE GER CLASS EASY A
My absolute favorite Professor. She is very hip and exhorts a great energy. 1-2 quizzes a week online, group projects, 4 exams online, fun field trips. I loved how she asked a lot of questions where students could answer. Her lectures were the best! Fun and up beat, not mediocre at all. She is very easy to talk to and contact too which is a plus.
Great teacher. Her criteria and instructions are clear which is helpful for online classes. The book was free which was also nice. All texts and quizzes were open note and open book and you could also take the quizzes twice. Do the reading and homework and you shouldn't have any issues!
Presiado is positive, relateable, and knowledgeable. She takes complex geography concepts and makes it applicable and understandable for your day to day life. Classes include hands-on learning, group research project, and 3 field trips to nature areas. Quizzes and exams are easy on canvas (open note/book). She will not bore you- online textbook!!!
She is the best professor I have ever had. She is wonderful, very passionate and energetic. She is very knowledgeable and cares for students. Tests and assignments are online. Pay attention and you'll be fine. 2 Field trips. Good option if you're taking other heavy courses.
Such a great time in her oceanography class! One of the sweetest professors and always working towards making her lectures fun. She's so energetic and so knowledgable about her profession. She truly cares about her students, do yourself a favor and take her oceanography class! Will be taking future classes with her!
I thought this class would be boring but it was pretty fun learning and the mutimedia quiz can be hard at times but sometimes they can be found on quizlet. Test come from mutimedia so save each one to help you out.
I took her online class in winter and it is easy. Each week has a discussion and two to three quizzes. The midterm and the final are questions from those quizzes. Easy class.
She cares about her students, so as long as you ask for help when you need it and actually apply yourself, you should do well! I would totally take this class over again, she was awesome!
Another one of the best online courses I've taken as weekly expectations are organized into modules. Be wary if you're taking this course normally (not online) as there is a huge group project that is weighted heavier. Weekly Quizzes & Assignments 45% Projects 15% Exams 40%
Shes a very understanding professor, theres a lot of reading to be prepare to read but youll be fine just put in effort and youll be fine.
Hands down one of the best professors. Not only is the workload completely manageable, she is absolutely caring and willing to work with her students. Its obvious that she wants to see you succeed. All it takes is a little communication! I was unable to complete weeks of assignments due to a dog attack, but she helped me every step of the way.
I love her, she is definitely the best professor at PCC. All of her work is online and done through Canvas. Each week has a module with the selected readings for that week, her lecture slides, and a weekly quiz. Apart from the weekly quizzes there are three exams. Great teacher definitely worth taking for easy credits.
Great professor. Her online course is very well structured. Professor Presiado always answered all my questions quickly. Workload is manageable and it should not be too difficult getting the grade you desire. Amazing professor!!
Shes okay I guess, she may be good in person but she makes a lot of tedious work for online courses.
She is probably one of the greatest teachers. There is a lot of work and reading but it's worth it. If you do the work, you'll get the grade you want. She does everything in her ability to set you up for success which is crucial. She cares and gets back to students very quickly. Grading is extremely fair and so are the percentages for the class.
Dr. Presiado is a great professor. You can tell she truly cares and is passionate about what she does. I took the 6 week course and did better than I thought I would but it is definitely about time management. My advice is to pay special attention to what she SAYS in the lecture videos and watch all the multimedia, and skip the textbook reading.
An absolute Gem of an educator! The lectures are so thorough that you actually learn more from watching, then reading the book. She explains things very clearly, and quizzes and exams do not contain surprise material not covered. Homework and quizzes really help you maintain your grade. Works with you as well on assignments.
Although a lot of work is assigned in this class, everything is quite easy and interesting. I was really worried because I was taking a total of six classes and the workload for this class can be heavy at times, but it is doable. She really cares about her students and whenever I had any questions she answered within 24 hours.
Absolutely one of the best profs at PCC. Course material itself is not so difficult. All you gotta do is do all the assignments and listen carefully to what she says in the lecture. Readings does not really matter but lecture slides she gives do matter. Read those and take notes of what she says.
Thorough video lectures and recommend you take notes
Professor Presiado has noticeably put a lot of thought into her only Physical Geography course because even though the class is online it is very interesting to take. She has a lot of lectures and supplemental videos and textbook readings to do but they are all very interesting an applicable to what we encounter in everyday life.
Professor Preciado is very sweet and makes herself available for those who need help. Make sure to take advantage of everything provided and pay attention to the lectures and youll be fine. However, she takes long to grade assignments.
Class is very structured, 30ish min lecture, txtbk chapter, quiz due on Sunday with 2 attempts, occasional discussion post or other activity. Some assignments require additional research/work, so planning your week is important. Quiz every week, plus midterm and final, xtra credit is there. Grading rubric is clear and an A is very doable.
Not an easy class you really got to read and work for the grade. 3 quizzes every sunday. got to do extra work no pathetic work.
Video lectures are really interesting. If you just want an easy A, I do not recommend but if you want to learn about physical oceanography, it is a really good class. The exams are mostly based on lectures, but there are some questions from textbook chapters so it's better to read them. Some discussion assignments take time so don't procrastinate.
I took Professor Presiado's 8 week course and it was more fun than I thought it was going to be. There are three quizzes that need to be done per week. There are discussion posts or assignments that alternate per week or so. The class assignments can be time consuming so make sure to do everything ASAP. Midterm and final exams are given.
Took her for an 8-week class. Three sections and quizzes followed by a discussion or assignment. Some assignments are very time-consuming. Also requires a 10 sent. min. for discussions. She does respond to emails. Wouldn't recommend it for 8-week if you don't like being stuffed with work. Also, only 1 hour timed midterm & final.
dont take her class if youre trying to get easy A/ have a really busy schedule.super time consuming with each week of 3 quizzes,project/assignment that can get kind of hard to understand. some of the discussions make you do research. i had to work harder for this class than my business classes to get that A.
Took her for a 16-week lab course. Pre-lab survey, discussion, and lab quiz every week. The discussion asks you to ask two questions from the lab and the response requires 10 sent. min or she deducts points. Overall, simple class but discussion responses are not it for me.
This class is not for busy people. Forget to reply discussion cutting the point off by 0 (for replies), even tho u already replied to one person.
90% of the students in this class are taking it as a Pre-Req, do not take this class if you are expecting an understanding professor. Takes points off very small details, it's just geology at the end of the day. Also will accuse students of being malicious for emailing her to many times.
Because the reviews are limited, let me say this... Professor Presiado has been one of the best professors I have every come across. She is very open and understanding. She does her best to help. Course work and test are very straight forward. Read and listen to lectures, you'll be fine.
Excellent professor. Highly recommended. As long as you do your homework and actively participate, you'll get a good grade. The only caution is that this class has 8 field trips, and you have to be in good physical shape to hike the trails she takes you on. Also, the group projects are kind of hard. Otherwise, you're good to go.
Rhea has a bright and upbeat personality that made it easy to follow along and capture the information presented. Her lectures were informative and pop quizzes were fairly easy to complete. Show up to class ready to learn and stay on top of the deadlines and you'll be alright.
Professor Presiado is an incredibly talented educator. She has a lot of energy and is very funny, so you will have a lot of fun in this class. She seriously knows her stuff! Just take notes on the lectures and do all your work (It's easy work, and it's not much either), and you will get an A!
good energy, wants you to succeed, never stressed about grade
I took this class as a general education requirement, and let me tell you please stay away. This class is extremely stressful, and she assigns a lot of work. In addition, she is an extremely harsh grader. She expects a lot so beware of that!
A few things don't sit well with me, like asking her students to draw a floor plan of their house and share it with her. Some people would like to keep things private. Also, she makes her students travel outside of "school" to complete assignments. I joined online cause I have the schedule to go out and about. This is not a school club. She is nice
DO NOT GET HER CLASS. 1 credit is not worth it for her class. You could get any other class better than.
She was very tough when grading the student's discussion. I spent more time a lot for her class than in other classes even though her class is only 1 credit unit.
Use your EXTERNAL resources, this class and her 001 Geog class are the best you can possibly get, I spent MAYBE an hour a week on this course. Her class is not hard at all and there is a lot of good information in here. Take the class you won't regret it.
Weekly quizzes/discussions and occasionally an extra assignment here and there. 1 midterm and final but if you pay attention to your quizzes and the readings/lectures you'll do fine. A few extra credit assignments but don't depend on it. Just focus on the content she posts and everything will be easy.
Presiado is a great professor I would recommend her, you don't really need to read the textbook because her lectures have all the info you need. Her quizzes can be pretty hard at times but just review the slides she provides and the resources and you should be fine.
Very interesting class!
She's over the top with her online course, I rarely get asked to take pictures of myself to complete assignments besides the "check in" assignments which is very normal to weed out bots. But she asks for pictures of her students to complete assignments, I've been at PCC for 2-3 years already and she's the ONLY one making me do all this extra stuff.
Easy A in my opinion, use all the lecture notes/resources given to you and you will be fine. Weekly discussion post/quiz. Some other random assignments where you have to go out and take pictures (which was the worst assignment imo). Other than that easy class and very accessible if you need it.
Profr Pressiado's class had the potential to be engaging and enjoyable, especially as a course intended to fulfill a general education requirement. However, the workload was o with an excessive amount of homework and lengthy videos.
Professor Pressiado is passionate about the course, but her video lectures arelengthy, and the assignments often feel like chores rather than learning activities. Tasks like playing games for points or taking photos of oneself were uncomfortable and time-consuming, making this class more demanding than my Economics and English courses combined.
If you're super busy, stay away from this class ! Very lecture heavy, requires you to take pictures of yourself for assignments which is unnecessary. She'll also compliment your work heavily however the grade didn't match that compliment, the work load is a lot in 1 week, wasn't enjoyable just super stressful, isn't helpful/useful through email.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLASS!!!! She gives weekly assignments where you have to go outside and do tasks such as take random pictures of birds, collect trash, and other pointless chores. The amount of workload is extremely heavy and very pointless. Do not take this class
not worth the time
this professor actually horrified me for asking students to constantly take photos of face to submit homework. Also how am I supposed to take a photo selfie with a BIRD FLYING IN THE SKY?? Also never responded to emails on time like stated in the syllabus. Don't take this class you will be drained and end up with nothing about geography.
Presiado is a good speaker and the class was well organized. If you're good with online work, this class can be enjoyable and super educational.
Professor Presiado is amazing and she is very caring. Her lectures are long and she may seem really energetic but she is really sweet and truly wants you to succeed. The group project is most of your grade along with the weekly quizzes so don't fall behind and you'll be fine.
took both 001 and 001L. passionate but the work is way too tedious for an online gen ed class. had to do assignments such as taking pictures in my neighborhood, cleaning up trash, etc. quizzes are open note and should be an easy a or b with her content as reference. she's chill but i ended up having more hw for this than other classes.
This teacher is amazing! She breaks her lessons down into sections, which prevents information overload. Before each section, she provides a mini-lecture that truly aids understanding. She makes learning fun and engaging, which is especially impressive for an online course. She's a fair grader and is willing to work with you just communicate.
Dr. Presiado is one of the best professors out there! She's compassionate about students and truly wants to see you succeed! She makes geography so much fun! Take this class to go out and have fun! The field trips are soooo fun! Easy A! Although it's one unit, take it and make some great memories! We went to Catalina Island + Cabrillo Beach!
Professor Presiado is a passionate lecturer and a caring instructor. Everything is easily accessible in the modules, and as long as you stay on top of deadlines, the course is not too rigorous. I am giving her class a 4 because I really did not enjoy the Lab Discussion Posts; I did not feel they were helpful.
Straight busy work, not even enjoyable. Class is automated to the max feels like khan academy on some high school bs when ur PE teacher was the sub for the day.
This class was straight up busy work. She always had us download or use something for our homework. While I did her assignments, it was MANDATORY to include pictures of YOURSELF and/or your project to include in the assignment. I didn't include a picture of myself and she docked me half the assignment. She made us write minimum 10 sentences for HW
amazing teacher, take her lab class as well. allows you to get ahead 1 week in advance for hw which helped me since i'm also taking classes outside PCC. provides txtbk, responds quickly to emails, answers are in material given, weekly discussion, a couple assignments that require pictures. take for ez A to fulfill gen ed req.
Professor Presiado is the best! Super passionate and makes it such a positive and safe learning community. Her lecture videos are detailed and insightful and she is flexible for those with busy schedules. Easy A as long as you do the work Overall loved both this class and the lab.
