I took her hybrid class. The class was super easy and she was very helpful!

Dr. Coffelt is an energetic teacher. If you're an awful lazy stupid and do not participate you deserve the bad grade you get. She offers extra credit assignments that apply to tests. Keep up with the work and you will pass and enjoy learning chemistry. There is alot of math involved, but its school, get use to it!

It's chemistry. It's not going to be an easy class no matter who you take, but Dr. C gives opportunities for 5-10pts extra credit on every test. While there is a lot of homework it is worth enough that it will significantly boost your grade if you aren't a good tester, same with the labs. You will need to study but she is not unreasonable.

Chemistry was my last prerequisite class to take before I start nursing school and I am so glad I had Dr. Coffelt. While she is a challenging teacher, she goes above and beyond to give everyone the opportunity to succeed. She is also really funny! I enjoyed the semester and learned a lot. Thank you Dr. C!

One of the best teachers I have had at Calhoun. Her lectures and notes are very helpful that I never had to use the textbook to study for the tests. Labs were also an easy A as long as you followed her directions. She even gave us practice tests, arranged study sessions and promptly responded back to questions which was all extremely helpful.

One of the most important things about her class is to ALWAYS show up. Laid out pretty simple, each chapter has one homework assignment and then there is the test. Be sure to show up for lab, too. If your attendance is 90% you can exempt the final exam, which is nice. Be prepared for lots of studying, as it is a chemistry class.

Dr. Coffelt is very knowledgable, yet she is good at breaking material down into simpler terms for students. She is good at using external cues and examples to relate to different rules and reactions. She moves pretty quickly so just stop her and ask questions. A lot of hw but gets you ready for test. Also she gives good extra credit opportunities!

I have really enjoyed her class. She is a great teacher who cares about her students. She always has study sessions and her powerpoints she makes get you ready for the test. Be prepared to study, but if you do that and come to the study sessions you will do great!

Dr. Coffelt is a great teacher! She is very clear in her lecutures, but if you need extra help, she holds study sessions usually the week before and the week of unit tests so that you can ask her questions and study with other students. As long as you complete the homework and study the material, you will absolutely get a good grade in the class.

Dr. Coffelt gives plenty of extra credit opportunities as well as homework to get you prepared for her exams. Her labs were easy A's, just do your work and ask questions. She has study sessions before each exam which are also great for asking questions. But make sure you study!

I took her for Chemistry 1 and really enjoyed the class. The class was not difficult at all and there is tons of work to do to help boost your grade. She explained things very well and would offer extra help after class in the form of study sessions, usually after labs.

Had her for Chem 1 and Chem 2 at Calhoun. She's great and really wants to see her students do well. Ask for help when you need it and don't be afraid to visit her office hours. Oh and come prepared to the test review days with questions!! Labs are super easy as well!!

She is enthusiastic, very knowledgeable and the lectures are enjoyable. If you need help she will provide it. If you study it's easy , if you don't it's hard. She enforces attendance and requires a lot of paper work to be turned in. The labs can be annoying but they're easy A's. Gets frustrated if the class doesn't participate in lecture.

Mrs. Coffelt is a wonderful professor! Her tests are hard, but she gives lots of extra credit opportunities. She is very clear in what she expects and her lectures aren't boring. I would definitely take her for any Chemistry class she teaches!

Be prepared to listen and to do a lot of homework. If you actually apply yourself , youll do fine- if you dont .... well she will run all over you. That being said she is a good, tough teacher. She really trys to make class interesting and more related to everyones needs. I would recommend her

Dr. C is a great teacher and wants her students to succeed. If you put forth effort and try this class is an easy A. There is a of opportunity for extra credit and she sometimes gives out practice tests which help out a lot. She has remind app that she uses so you can text her to ask her questions through the app which she responds quickly to.

One of the best teachers I've ever had. I almost failed high school chemistry but crushed this class. She makes everything easy to understand and gives plenty of extra credit. It is homework heavy but it only helps and she goes over most of it in class. Don't miss class, you can get exempt from the final depending on your grade and attendance.

Dr. Coffelt is the best chem teacher you could hope for, shes very clear about what she wants and she grades VERY leniently but you can not miss class and you especially cannot miss a lab. She gives you bonus points on every test and she makes her tests based off of the slides not the book(which is amazing).

Dr. Coffelt really cares about her students and wants to help you not only pass, but succeed in your major. Sure, I wouldn't label this class as "easy", you have to work at it, but if you follow her directions and really apply yourself you can definitely pass this class. Plus, she offers lots of bonus points! I only wish I was taking her again!

If youre looking for an easy A, I wouldnt recommend. Attendance is mandatory. Her tests are hard and she is picky about what she wants on your labs. She does give extra credit for every test and sometimes gives class time for you to finish. She always kept me entertained in class. I loved this teacher and learned so much this semester!

Dr. Coffelt is a great teacher and really gives her students good circumstances to succeed in her class. Attendance is very important for her class, and labs are just as important. As long as you show up, complete your homework, and take this class seriously you will do well. I enjoyed having her as a teacher and would take her class again.

Dr Coffelt is an amazing teacher! Had her for CHM111&112. Is always well prepared for class and explains things VERY clearly. Many times she explains things more clearly than the course book does. Exams are based on slides and In-Class Homework she lectures on, and she gives a formula sheet during exams. If you fail her CHEM class, it's all on you.

The material is complicated and a lot of math. She teaches it well and the homework is pretty easy. Labs are simple just show up to the labs and participate. She is also pretty fun and texts or emails back as soon as she can.

A good teacher. Just ask questions if you dont understand because its hard to pick up on your own if you dont get it. Fun class. Relatable teacher.

Ms. Coffelt is a great Chemistry teacher because she explains everything you cover very well! Your homework take longer than you expect, and it is not advised that you wait till the last minute to study. Makes sure you pay attention in lecture for essay questions! She will punish you for not attending class or labs through taking a final!

Hardworking, fun, and approachable, good at utilizing multiple ways of helping every student for success. Good at communication. The class material isn't easy, but the extra credit means a lot and I highly recommend doing it. Happy that I signed up for her CHM 112 course.

She tries to help every sort of learner in the class. She gives extra credit with the homework because the work can be hard to do. Great teacher but you have to ask if you dont understand because she teaches fast sometimes.

She gives out helpful packets with practice problems to go along with each lecture. She also gives a ton of chances for extra credit throughout the year.

Dr. Coffelt is a very respectful teacher. In her Chemistry class she gives you everything you need to succeed in her class. She is willing to help you with anything you are having trouble with in the class to succeed. show up to learn, do well on the homework and work problems she gives you in class to work on before the test you will do fine.

I really enjoyed her course. She did a great job of teaching and is always open to answering questions. There is quite a lot of work but that is normal for chemistry. The labs are great because it gives you a good opportunity to bring up your grade and they're fun. I definitely will be taking her for CHM 112!

She is an amazing teacher; she gives you extra credit. You will not need the actual book, because she uses all of the materials in her workbook. However, you will need the access code for Mastering Chemistry. If you come like you are suppose to and complete assignment, you will pass. Chemistry is hard, but she makes it easy.

She is an awesome professor. I took her for CHEM 111 and built my whole schedule are taking her for CHEM 112. I went from knowing nothing about chemistry to wanting to go into biochem as a career. If you put in the effort you will pass. She was very available outside of class to answer questions, both via office hours and Remind text application.

This class was great. She really knows her stuff & was really entertaining. The class covered a lot of material. If you do the work and show up to class you will pass. Grading is clear, the schedule is followed, and communication is clear. I went from knowing nothing to a great foundation in chemistry in this class. Wish she teaches Organic Chem.

Amazing teacher, she gives you many tools to help you study and consistently improve throughout the course. I learned how to properly study in her class, and while none of her courses are easy, it is not impossible. Definitely one of, if not the most impactful teacher I have had at this school.

Loved having Dr. C. for this class. She's one of my favorite teachers I've ever had. Online, you have to do Mastering Chemistry homework. That took forever. Just know what you go over in class, and you'll be golden. Don't buy the textbook. Get her in-class notebook, go to class & do the work. She gives you all the tools you need to succeed.

I found the material very difficult, probably because I had never had any chemistry at all. Her on-line lectures are excellent, and she was always available for questions. (I had a lot of them.) I was always surprised at how quickly she answered them - often within an hour or two. Great teacher.

Love Dr. C. She is very fair and also accessible outside of class through the remind app. She responds very quickly. She gives extra credit every test and her lectures are very organized. She knows what she's talking about.

I texted her one night asking a question and she responded by saying as soon as she was back from dinner she would help me. She gives loads of opportunity for bonus points. Really great teacher; provides excellent notes and the review games are super helpful for tests! The labs are fun and help you to make some friends in the class. You can also message for help anytime and she responds quickly. Definitely recommend!

Dr. C's classes were fairly difficult. There was a decent amount of homework, though some of it was extra credit and I felt that it prepared me well for the tests. Labs were tons of fun, and lectures were enjoyable. She does reviews before tests. She expects you to put the effort in, but if she sees you trying, she's more than willing to help you.

Dr. C is hands down one of the best online professors I've ever had. She communicates with you well and she is accessible outside of class. You have notes, Lab, HW and one test per chapter. 1 discussion per unit. She is very sweet and will help anyway she can. Definitely take her!!

She was a really good professor, gave a lot of homework but each assignment really helped you understand the material. Super accessible and quick to respond to any emails or texts, can be stern on policies, but otherwise super sweet. I would definitely recommend her class.

Dr. C is not the most warm and nurturing professor, but I have never met a chemsitry profressor that is. She is clear & concise in her lectures, which I have appreciated. She provides guided notes that follow the lectures exactly. Her tests do not deviate from what she teaches at all. If you stay on top of work, you will be golden.

This is my 2nd time taking Dr Coffelt. I also took her for CHM111. I really enjoy her class. The video lectures are all recorded & she does a weekly review for questions. There is a weekly hw and lab which is usually in Labster for online class. She is always available for questions. She is very nice and super quick to respond questions.

I really enjoyed my Chem 111 class with Dr. Coffelt! I found her to be extremely helpful when I had questions or concerns with finishing assignments. She clearly structures her course and offers a LOT of extra credit opportunities. As long as you are respectful and willing to put in work (really, it's NOT that much work), you'll do just fine.

A very clear understanding of what is needed for class, provides lecture slides, worksheets which are bonus points added to test, dated checklist for the semester, and holds zoom meetings to ask questions and hold reviews. The final exam is optional and used if you need it to replace a test grade. I wish she was teaching Chem 2 this summer!

Need a chem teacher? Look no farther!! Coffelt would be my top choice all around. She adapted well to the online and Labster was a great choice! She is very "straight to the point," but that is needed in a science prof!! I've taken her for both CHM 111 and CHM 112. Tests are not easy, but if you study you can pull off an A!

This professor knows her material. Chemistry isn't an easy subject, if you don't put in the work. Dr. Coffelt's lectures, if followed and completed, will lead you to do well in the course. However, ultimately it is up to your effort. The material at times was challenging for me, but she was always there to answer questions, even on the weekends!

Dr. C is very respectful to all her students who ask academic and logical questions. There is a decent amount of work for this class but if you actually put forth effort you will be able to pass. Taking her class during COVID was rather easy. She was very direct in her online lecture videos and very respectful to me and her students. I enjoyed taking this course as I was able to work productively and fully understand the material. Even better! when I asked questions they were answered and I was able to understand my mistakes.

I have throughly enjoyed having Dr. Coffelt as my teacher! As they state in Stranger Things, my curiosity door was always explored and open with Dr. Coffelt! She is very thorough, helpful, and responds quickly. However, if you want an easy class where you arent challenged, this is not for you. Shes very informative and her class is great!

If you do the work you will pass her class. Her test reflects the homework assignments and she offers extra credit for each unit.

I personally dislike chemistry, but Ms. Coffelt helped me quite a bit this semester. She always responds quickly to any questions and presented us a lot of opportunities to participate through online learning, it wasn't mandatory, but it was a great tool to help anyone that needed it. Dr. Coffelt is a great teacher. She presented the material in an easy to understand format. The lectures are long, but are needed to understand everything. I made an A, but I worked for it. The labs were pretty useless though. I learned the most from the homework and the lecture notes. Gives a ton of extra credit. Good teacher for an intro class.

During the semester, when I asked to go over a few things with her she was readily able to talk about concepts we learned. To do well in this class you just need to figure out how to do the different problems she gives for practice in the lectures, and also learn the concepts surounding them.

***She is a wonderful professor*** I reached out to her for help because I'm not good at math like I thought I would be. She took the time to explain the issues I had as well as talk about my degree. The class is very easy, if you have the pre-existing Algebra knowledge. Her lecture videos would genuinely make me laugh and easy to understand.

Was able to get by with only purchasing the lab with no text because she gives great lectures. She provides lots of extra credit opportunities the first week of class and for each test (keep up with your lecture notes). She can grade harshly on the discussions. Discussions are on the 2nd week of materials but are due the 1st week of the unit.

Dr. Coffelt was very helpful and fast in responding to any questions I had. Her material was challenging but engaging and fun to learn. I would definitely take it again!!!!!

Mrs. Coffelt is one of the best professors I have had. She actually cares about teaching you the material and she gives it to you in a very accessible way. She does give a fair amount of homework but that's really just to prepare you for the tests she gives. The chemistry labs she has are quite fun to do. overall 9/10.

Super nice and approachable-lot's of office hrs. The books for this class are cheap $30 total-U don't need the recommended ones. Grade is an 1,000-point scale: 500 for exams, 100 for quizzes, 200 points for labs, 200 for fill-in lecture notes. She gives a lot of extra credit at the beginning. Print the exam resources at the beginning of the unit.

Dr. Coffelt provides many extra credit opportunities throughout the semester. Her explanations of complex concepts in her video lectures are phenomenal. Reviewing the conceptual vocabulary before the in-class review sessions and unit tests indubitably helps. Nonetheless, her class is rather rigorous because of its numerous, weekly assignments.

Dr. Coffelt is a wonderful professor. She is always available to assist with any work or problems you may have. There were quite a few video lectures, however, most of them did not exceed 15 minutes. Her lectures are very informative. She truly cares whether a student will pass and gives every opportunity for you to complete assignments.
