This was one of my favorite professors ever (and this will be my second degree)! She has an excellent sense of humor, and explains things very well. Great class!
do not take her!!! she was not that good of a teacher. she just talks and talks and doesnt really teach. i do not recommend her at all. the tests are hard. she grades very hard and there are no reviews for ANYTHING!!! it is very frustrating! please do not take her!
Dr.Felheim is the best teacher. She is very far with grading and very clear on the information. She may "talk" a lot, but every word coming out of her mouth is important if you pay attention. She rarely makes a mistake, but if one is made she is quick to correct it with out an argument.I have ADD and she is the kind of teacher I needed to get through
Dr. Felheim in an excellent teacher. She is very interested in the subject matter and very knowledgeable. Her tests are hard, but anatomy and physiology is not an easy subject. You must take notes and listen carefully to her lectures. She does not review for tests but will answer questions. She is friendly and helpful and will meet with you
Excellent teacher...very structured (good 4 me since i have anxiety), organized, and takes learning beyond classroom. must pay attention and Take really good notes..make notecards and study any diagrams. Review notes per lecture and ask for clarification as you go...keep up and you will be fine!
Awesome professor, easy to understand and willing to help in anyway.
She is probably the nicest teacher i have ever had. She is extremely helpful and if you study the course objectives then you are almost guaranteed a good grade. The practice quizes on angel also help a lot.
Dr. Felheim is one of my favorite teachers at Santa Fe. I had her for both 2086 and 2085. A&P is not an easy subject but she does a good job of making it clear to you and is always willing to help you. You have to take good notes but she provides a lot of outside resources on Angel to help you as well. Definitely take her!!!
All I'm gonna say is-she loves what she teaches and is very educated-she wants u to do well and is available for help-go to class, take good notes, ask questions, strive and u will proudly pass, she is funny too and thats a good thing ;-) AWESOME TEACHER!!!
I'm taking this class and was wondering if anyone could give me any good advice for the tests? I'm taking the first test Thursday and didn't know if anyone remebered anything usefeul? Professor Felheim is always quick to help me when I need it and I can learn a lot from her online powerpoints and readings she offers online.
Don't Take Her If you want a good grade in this class. There are no review sheets for anything. I love A&P but she makes the class harder than it is.
Anyone have any idea how the online course is taught? Whats are the grades that come from it are they all Exams base?
Absolutely LOVE Dr. Felheim. She is amazing. You have to put time into this class and she definitely does not hand out grades, but she makes anatomy so interesting. She knows her stuff! She is always there for you in and outside of class. She is one of the best professors I have had at Santa Fe. I fully recommend her just study hard!
Great teacher! Taking her again for A and P 2. You must study hard and listen to everything she says in class. Very helpful and available.
This woman is a great teacher and is always willing to help. She is staff on the cadaver lab as well.. so if u wanna get on her good side, go to that a few times.
Online class is TERRIBLE. You can tell she knows her stuff, but the tech issues -closing of online quizzes/tests early or wrong time allowances given or confusing pictures used to test. Wasted my time trouble shooting tech probs all the time. Half the links or pictures didn't show even with firefox. Take her in person or someone else.
If you're willing to work, she's great. But be warned - very little extra credit, almost none. Assignments and quizzes will kill your grade and are generally due on Saturday nights. Study outside of the scope of class, too, or you'll find a few unfamiliar questions on the final exam.
It was a lot of material that we covered. But seeing as how we only had exams, you would think that she would at least give you some kind of review before the exams. There was power points for every chapter but none of that material was on the exams. Overall, you bust your butt on studying material that is not on the exam. Good Luck.
I wouldn't suggest taking her for anatomy unless you have no other hard classes to worry about. She doesn't give any extra credit and didn't really help me at all when I had questions an problems. Find someone else to take that will actually help you!
Her class, I mean anatomy is pretty tough, but if you want to learn Felheim is the way to go. The first test the whole class did bad and she changed the rest of the tests and made them easier. Not alot of xtra credit, but coming to class helps. I got a B+ in a&p1 n an A in a&p 2 and I took 4 other classes, its do able. good luck
Don't take her class.
I wouldn't recommend taking this class to anyone!
she doesnt give you extra credit or study guides. Her homeworks dont relate to the test at all. Dont take her, she really is a good person but not a good teacher. She doesnt give material that can help approve our grade on test. trust me if you dont have to take her, take someone else plzzzzz.
I love Dr. Felheim. She explains things in a real world atmosphere. Her labs are great because she goes through every slide and model with you. She has 3 exams, 6 lecture quizzes, 6 lab quizzes,3 worksheets, a mid term and final in lab, and a final. We got extra credit in my class. I would recommended her to anybody, she's really funny too.
Dr. Felheim is an amazing professor. I would recommend everyone to take her class. Yes, her class is a little difficult... but it is anatomy! As long as you keep up with your assignments, then you will do fine.
Dr. Felheim is great! She's so down to earth, explains things in a way you can understand. Lectures are never boring, and work is spaced out enough to keep up. I havent been in college for 10yrs, with no science backround and was able to maintain a 90 while taking other classes. Just study your notes, dont waste $ on new book, old editions are fine
Awesome teacher, but you have to be very good when it comes to note taking. She's very thorough. You have to work for it, however, I retained so much information from her class is unbelievable how much I still remember. Very nice teacher. Wish I had her for 2085.
Great Instructor - She posts online resources that make learning the material interesting and the concepts easier to comprehend. Toward end of class, extra credit offerings were made available. I really learned alot from this instructor. She is dedicated to her field and it is obvious that she enjoys her work. She makes learning fun!
She's an okay teacher. Lab was a huge disappointed because it wasn't very hands on and was more of a lecture. Her tests are very straight forward and all multiple choice. She teaches the information, but isn't very good at keeping the students engaged in what she's teaching.
Great Teacher, really loves teaching although A&P 1 is hard she makes the class where you retain the info well, also uses great online resources which really helped my pass. she also runs the Human Cadaver lab which is an amazing experience.
really not that clear. dosent have any study guides and really isnt helpful
If you want to learn, take her. If you want to pass take her. She gives lots of assignments to help you pass and all of her quizes are onlie. I took her summer A and passed with B. Does require studying but the course oblective are given to you and they are the test. Very helpful and very smart. TAKE HER!!!!
I took this class short semester and abo****ely LOVED it. Granted, I am a student interested in this material, which helps, but Dr. Felheim made it very easy to enjoy lectures and labs. She is an outstanding professor skilled in helping students retain new information. I would recommend her above any other science professor I have ever had.
Best science professor I have ever taken. She is knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I have never sat under a teacher so skilled at helping students retain information. Take her classes; you will learn the material! You will have to study and work hard, but you will enjoy her classes. Take her!
Great teacher!!
One tough cookie! Online class is very difficult since there is practically no teaching going on. Take ON CAMPUS! Tests are over several chapters at a time, very fast-paced for a fall class. Be prepared to study long long hours! However, prof. is very nice and helpful. Just not as dedicated to her online courses.
One of my favorite professors I've had yet. She is definitely interested in teaching her students, and really knows what she's talking about. You actually learn something of value in her class. Highly recommended.
My word! Online is extremely tough. Too many folders, with hidden links, PPTs, and when you stumble into them, you have to try to figure out how to get back! Not the best computer layout and that makes the class harder. I'd suggest taking it on campus. Too much info to navigate alone, and noone really likes the "C gets the degree" approach.
DR.FELHEIM IS AMAZING.SHE IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE OF THE SUBJECT,AND SHE TEACHES IT WELL..ALTHOUGH U HAVE TO DEDICATED MUCH TIME TO THE CLAAA, YOU LEARN LOTS OF GREAT THINGS FROM IT. WHEN EXITING THE CLASS, YOU WILL HAVE A GREAT KNOWLEDGE OF THE MATERIAL AND IT WILL STICK WITH YOU..I ENCOURAGE ANY AND EVRYONE TO TAKE HER CLASS BECAUSE SHE IS AWESOME.
I took Dr. Felheim in the fall of 2011 for 2085 and LOVED IT!!! She is extremely passionate about what she teaches. Her exams are fair if you come to class and study at home. DO THE COURSE OBJECTIVES!! I am currently taking BSC2086 with her as well. LOVE IT EVERN MORE!! SHE IS THE BEST! HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! You will learn SOOOOO much!
Took this class online, big mistake. Professor Felheim thinks online students are slackers and treats them the same way. The tests are extremely hard and have tricky questions. I studied 20 hours a week and barely got a B! She is unfair in her grading and doesn't encourage you to do better. Very disappointing, considering I ruined my perfect GPA!!
She is a great teacher but when it comes to the labs, I didn't learn anything. The lab quizzes also didn't cover anything that she went over in lab or class. Her class is so interesting but you will fail because of the lab. I would recommend someone else.
She is very helpful her class is hard buts its anatomy. She gives you lots of assignments so you have a chance on passing her class the test are hard you have to study, but if you study you will pass. I did not do the course objectives but if I did I probably wouldn't of had such a hard time.
Tough course. Need hours of studying time. Talks to students like they have been in the field. Tests online in the BOL. Labs did not help a lot. Cares about the students a lot and helpful in office hours. Very friendly and funny. Needs to adjust grading system. Struggled to get a B. Lab practicals are easy. Teach from powerpoints. Need book. Study!
great professor! very willing to help if needed. Offers additional study materials if you need. Answers emails efficiently. EASY exams if you study at all. I took her online and got an A!
So here is the problem with Felheim, she doesn't give you any notes and she doesn't post any powerpoints. You just get a list of "class goals" that you have to learn out of the book. Very difficult class to study for, prepare for reading chapter after chapter.
Dr. Felheim is an amazing teacher! Even though Anatomy and Physiology is a really hard class, she makes it interesting. Take her if at all possible! You will learn a lot.
Anatomy is already hard, yet this teacher does absolutely nothing to better your understanding. I managed a C, and thats only because I taught myself. I could have stayed home and read the book and saved valuable time. If you must take her, good luck.
Don't take this teacher if you don't have to. Although she is a great person, this doesn't mean she is a great teacher. Literally half the things on the test she will not teach you in class. Expect to be memorizing chapters in the book if you want an A. Tests are ridiculously hard.
Dr. Felheim is very sweet and enthusiastic. Attendance is a must. Tests are extremely difficult. A lot of in class group activities. Most homwork, quizzes, assignments are online. No notes or powerpoints posted, a lot of teaching yourself from the book. Rhonda recognizes and appreciates hard work. Very difficult class
Anatomy and Physiology is a hard subject to grasp, and this teacher makes it even harder to understand. The exams are extraordinarily hard, which she cannot control, but she does very little to help you prepare for them. Also, do NOT take her hybrid class because it's that much harder. If you must take her class at all, good luck.
Felheim is very dedicated to A&P and she also expects you to be. I'd recommend another professor, and this is coming from someone who took her for both 2085&2086. If you do take her get ready to read the whole book. seriously. Her test are hard, she gives tons of mini in class quizzes, a lot of online assignments, and assigned group activities.
Felheim is a really friendly and clear professor. Her tests are hard and there are daily quizzes, but they help you to really understand the material. just do the work and come to class prepared!
She is a wonderful person and she is willing to help. She is very funny and enthusiastic. I would recommend her so long as you have time to really dedicate. Her tests are HARD. I barely skimmed an A but if you do ALL the work and show to class you will love her.
Dr. Felheim is an extremely enthusiastic and makes the class as engaging as possible. Her tests are hard, but everything you need to know is in course objectives that she posts. If you come to class prepared and keep up with the course objectives, you should have no problem succeeding. Also, use sources other than the textbook. It'll confuse you.
For learning A&P thoroughly, I HIGHLY recommend Felheim. Her talent for translating textbook jargon into terms that every student can understand is so helpful. But as a teacher who does such a great job teaching, she relies heavily on group work. Prepare to spend most of lecture working through hard ideas not with her but with your confused peers.
Dr. Felheim is the hardest professor I've ever had. She expects you to dedicate your life to her class regardless of your other classes. If you decide to take her, don't miss a class, stay organized, & study everyday. I DON"T RECOMMEND HER IF YOU HAVE A BUSY SCHEDULE. She's not helpful AT ALL if you fall behind, so I'd suggest to stay on top of it.
She is a great teacher! She's always excited and on time to class. She explains everything in anyway a student might need. She does give a lot of homework, but it everything that will be on the test. I would suggest her to anyone.
Dr Felheim is a great teacher. Her tests are very hard, but all of the information you need is given to you. Always read the notes and information given to you.
Loved her! She's really nice and is always available to answer and questions. I wish I had taken her on campus, though. Her tests are fairly difficult. She wants you to understand how things work, not just what they are. As long as you set aside time to study, you should be fine. I highly recommend watching all videos she posts through connect.
Do exactly what she says and you will get an A; ask her for help if you need it and DON'T fall behind. You CANNOT slack in this class. Study groups are almost a must to get an A. I don't recommend taking it if you haven't taken Core Bio 1 yet, this will help you tremendously. Also do not take it as your very first online class.
It's apparent that she really loves Teaching anatomy. Shes good at explaining concepts and if you set aside enough time every week to study and do homework you will succeed in the class. She is not the easiest teacher but if you really want to fully learn anatomy then you need to take her!
Professor Felheim was one of the best professors I have taken at Santa Fe. She is very serious about her teaching and wants to make sure that everybody in the class is on the same page. She's a great teacher and very helpful! Just make sure you do all the work she assigns and you're sure to get a good grade in the class.
Ended up withdrawing from the course, didn't put enough time into studying to pass with a C. If you aren't going to study much and think you'll pass, goodluck. Tests are extremely hard, large class, professor wasn't my favorite at all. Will retake with someone else.
She really loves Anatomy and she wants to share that love with her students. There are no notes given only online lectures and in class lectures. DONT SKIP CLASS if you miss one class you will have a hard time catching up. Test are VERY HARD.
Felheim is one of the best professors I have ever had. Her dedication to both the material and teaching is incredible. I am now in a BSN program at a top school, and her physiology courses have made it possible for me to be at the top of my class. Put in the work, & you will achieve.
I LOVE her! She is an amazing teacher and is always ready to help. There is an assignment due every week but they are very helpful and not hard to do. The only down fall is the quizzes online are timed, so that can get a little stressful. I am planning on taking her again for A&P 2! You wont regret it!
Gives lectures through videos and GLQs (guided learning questions) must do work every weekend. Doesn't really explain things well. I most certainly would NEVER take her again, or suggest taking her.
I would never recommend anyone to take her as a teacher. While she gives good class notes and presentations she picks favorites. You have to do notes before you come to class and have them 100% done if you miss 2 blanks you don't receive ay credit. She will under no circumstances go back and change your grade.I got credit for 2 out of the 12 i did.
Taken during the FALL 2016 downtown campus. You don't need to purchase the book she won't say it but just follow her notes and Guided Learning Questions that she gives you and other helpful material she has online. Studying for her class is a must!!!! If you do not spend time with the material you will not do well. Do what she recommends.
I would never recommend anyone to take Dr. Felheim. She definitely is knowledgable and is passionate about anatomy but she doesn't teach the class well at all. You have GLQ's that are due before every class and she says to use it as a study guide, but she will never go over the answers with you, you have no way of knowing if your answers are right.
Dr. Felheim is not how she was for 2085. Throughout the whole semester she would teach us the wrong answer and then send an email correcting herself. She doesn't teach in lab and her notes are her very badly recorded audio lectures. They have long intros and they don't answer what's in the homework. She likes to rant, tests are focused on 1 chpt
Exam weight 10-20 times more than quizzes taken on a weekly basis. If incorrect answer given, you will not be given the correct answer and have no way of knowing what answer is expected for future study. Course retake is not uncommon. Material is self taught .
She is a ok teacher. She wants her students to pass. On every lab quiz you have to spell every thing correct also her lab finals. She gives you about a minute for each station to answer the questions on the lab final.
Self taught for online
I love Dr. Felheim! If you're genuinely eager to learn the human body and put in the work to do so, you will thrive with her. Her in-class lectures were clear and concise, and she always took the time to answer students' questions. Email responses were FAST! Dr. Felheim is incredibly enthusiastic about the material, and it's contagious!!!
I am currently taking her class for anatomy and physiology online. If you are forced to take A&P online, be prepared to become your own professor. 100% of your grade is from tests and quizzes. You will have to teach yourself from the text or other sources. The GLC study guides are not good. There are no lectures or videos sent(not yet
She was the best professor I have ever had! Whenever you need extra help or just a few questions, she is always there and will also email back very quickly. I would take her again in a heartbeat! If you really care about learning anatomy she is perfect!
I can know 90% about this class and still fail her stuff. HORRIBLE.
I loved Dr. Felheim. Her class was amazing. She really cares about each of her students. Just talk to her and she will work with you. If you do not want to work and go to class then you are not going to do well. She is so much fun and is really awesome. If you take her class you wont regret it.
Professor Felheim has turned out to be one of my favorite teachers throughout my entire school career. I honestly have use my book one time out of the entire semester because all of the information comes from lectures. You do have to work, but in the end the feeling of a hard earned grade is worth it.
Tough course but a good professor who knows her topic in and out - just try and keep up with her provided materials and things should be okay, and don't be afraid to ask for help. And don't worry about textbooks - she gives it out for free.
You have no idea if your answers are right on the GLQ guides, you don't know what the correct answers are on her quizes or tests unless she schedules you to come in. She gives you NO leeway for even a single point. No offers for retakes. Quizes and tests are timed for a SHORT TIME LIMIT. You will teach yourself. I would never take her again-EVER.
This instructor responded to my questions in emails very quickly. She always took the time to explain things thoroughly. Learning this material takes lots of time. Her notes are clear and user friendly. The Guided Learning Questions make a great study guide. She has practice quizzes that show the correct answers.
I am exploring a career change to Nursing and Dr. Felheim's class was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and responded to my many questions. Her lectures were very good and she backed up with Powerpoints to summarize the posted videos. I came out of her class feeling confident in my career change to Nursing.
This is an online course. All of the materials on line prepare you for the exams. If you don't put the time in, however, you won't do well. A and P is hard! I feel like it prepared me for OT school which was my reason for taking the class.
Professor Felheim really loves teaching A&P and wants you to love learning it. This is a touch on-line class, but her teaching style makes her students motivated to learn Anatomy. She continued to keep the class engaged with great lectures and discussions. Here quizzes and tests are hard but appropriate for the subject matter. Highly recommend.
Tough subject. great teacher. If you have any problems or questions she is very available to help. I get the impression she wants all of us to succeed and do well in our medical careers.
Professor Felheim. is a great professor - I would highly recommend taking her if you need to take A&P.
Dr. Felheim is an amazing and caring professor. She is energetic and keeps you engaged. Her class is not easy but you will learn if you are willing to put the work in. As with most things in life if you dont show up you will not succeed. So take the time to go to class and open lab and put the effort forward because you will not regret it.
She's a great person, just like A&P 1 you have to put the work in to learn the material, it's not going to be super easy. make sure you go in after tests to review the ones that you missed.
I took this class online/accelerated . Her online lectures and notes were so vague that I had to get another professor's lecture notes. The lab was a train wreck as there were barley any arrows pointing to the structure we had to learn. In addition, she does not know her own departmental standards and for grading and will lie straight to your face.
Shes amazing! I love listening to her lectures and as long as you actually put in effort, youll pass. I do the GLQs and lab manuals (which are not graded) and I have an A. Anybody who doesnt pass her class just doesnt want it enough. She makes a hard subject VERY easy.
She is one of the best, most focused & inspiring professors I have ever studied under. She is passionate & knowledgeable. She genuinely wants her students to feel the same enthusiasm. I would not call this an "easy" class only because there is a lot of material to learn. However, she provides the tools to do so. She loves & encourages questions.
She is a good professor and makes learning the material very manageable.
Professor. Felheim is one of the best professors at SF. She has so much passion for Anatomy & Physiology. She provides so many resources for her students to work with and LEARN! Use Them!!! Remember that Anatomy and Physiology is not an easy class to take by all means. The amount of effort put in the class is the grade you'll receive. Good luck!
Dr. Felheim is an inspiration! She is passionate about the material and genuinely cares about her students and their success. She is accessible outside of class, has clear grading criteria, regularly sends emails on study tips, gives extra credit, and puts her whole heart into this class. I cannot recommend her class highly enough!!
If you put in the effort, you will get the grade you want to get. From my experience, she is very straightforward and is very helpful towards her students. She knows what she is teaching and is very enthusiastic about it and is willing to help those who are trying to make the effort to get the grade in the class.
One of the best professors at Santa Fe! This professor is very intelligent, funny, and compassionate! The material is not easy to learn, but she breaks it down very well. If you put in the work & study, you'll get a good grade. She offers extra credit, no textbook is required, and has recorded videos online to further help understand the material.
During lab, she does not let us ask questions about the lab assignment or complete the lab assignment, during lab. She really does not let you ask any question in class either, if you do, she wont answer your question and will continuing lecturing as if she was just rudely interrupted.
I really loved taking Dr. Felheim for A&P. She is incredibly passionate about anatomy and it makes the students more excited to learn. The class is VERY content heavy, as most A&P classes are. She creates study guides herself that you can use as an outline for your notes and they help A LOT when studying for her exams.
She is a really great teacher and will answer any questions you have. She is quite funny as well and makes long lectures less boring. However, don't just rely on her for all of the information, you have to study on your own as well. Also, complete all GLQ's and lab manuals in order to help pass tests.
A very nice professor who means well and wants you to succeed. GLQs are given as a study guide for each test and there is a lab quiz(in lab) and lecture quiz(online) each week. The structure of the course is very easy to follow and understand. It is a lot of material but if you go to lecture and take good notes and study GLQs you are golden.
Dr. Felheim is passionate and funny but she's very forgetful and needed to be reminded of some things. She gives lecture notes and handouts for you to complete at your leisure. I'd recommend reading the textbook as well, as the handouts weren't enough for me. She doesn't give you answers to tests/quizzes so you have no idea what you got wrong.
It was a crazy semester as we had to move from having a physical class to on-line due to Covid-19 closure of school. Dr. Felheim never missed a beat. She had all of the lecture notes and lab information up on line. She met with us weekly on line and went through her lecture presentations. This is not an easy class, but everything is there.
Dr. Felheim is very good at explaining difficult material so that you can understand. She gives lots of feedback. She gives study guides and practice quizzes. She held class online due to COVID 19 and met with us and explained the material. She wants students to succeed. She posts everything you need.
Tough class but I expected it to be. Professor Feldheim was very prepared and most classes were interesting but intense. She laid out the study guide and plans very understandable. I didn't use my book a lot but needed it occasionally.
One of the things I respect about Dr. Felheim is how prepared for class she was, and how she expects the students be the same. This makes the learning experience so much better.
Worst professor I've ever taken at SF. You can tell she doesn't care about her students. BEWARE: A 65% is considered an F in her class. Her study guides are NOTHING like her exams, and her lectures contain no exam material. She's so rude and ignores her emails. You can tell she couldn't care less if you failed. Don't know how she got the job!
