On the first day, she was a half hour late.. and she gives us a lecture on how WE shouldn't be late for class. The material covered is interesting, but it would have been a better class without her.
She is a good clear teacher. If u do what she asks, u pass, that simple.
I loved her class! Interesting material! Fun class! Keeps you interested in the class! Knows what she's talkin about! Tests arent that easy, but u can get atleast a B if you study. Writes notes on the board! Homework assignments boost your grade!
She's probably the worst teacher here. She shows up late, hands out handouts directly copied from the book, and knows next to nothing about enviornmental science. A complete waste of time and money, and an insult to anyone who knows anything about educ.
Has her lateness issues, but is a wonderful woman who does great things for the world, particularly to the Poor in Africa. She has my complete admiration, respect, and awe.
boring class
Tough course. If you ask for help, she will help you. Shows up late a lot and favors certain students. You definetely have to study a lot and keep up with the material.
It's great she helps people in Africa. It doesn't mean she has to subject people paying 30K a year to go here to her terrible teaching style.
Dr. Hazell is a truly excellent teacher. She lectures but she teaches as well. She gives plenty of examples and ways to remember information. She gives out packets containing all the notes, and tells you what to highlight and what not to worry about. Her class is very challenging, but in a good w
i hated this class
Shes a horrible teacher with bad attitude problems and serious problems iwht lateness. Her tests were not fair at all and she had ****s tendencies. I do not reccomend her for anyone!!!
um yea ok there are no words to describe this lady..shes always late yet you would never dream of doing the same for fear of your life..she needs a MAJOR attitude adjustment and id recommend taking her if you like to be talked down to and tortued in her office after youve failed her impossible tests
GREAT CLASS.. if you like being tortured for 3 hours a night! She makes you feel dumb, shows up late, and makes you have private meetings with her just to get your test grade. She hates white girls. She is rude and inconsiderate. But if you're into all that kinda stuff.. its an AWESOME class!
Dr.Hazell is not a bad teacher. She is really helpful. It's not her fault if people are looking for an easy course, this definitely isn't one. Her tests are long but in the end if you study enough you'll retain alot of the information.
Worst teacher ever to take for anatomy. she makes you feel so dumb. acts like she hates everyone. gives wrong info for notes. just dont take her if you can avoid it.
i love her, she has a sick sense of humor. But this is not an easy class she makes you work for it, she knows her stuff and she is there if you need help. and yes she is intimidating, she is this tiny woman so dont be afraid of her, get to know her and she will take note of it.you gotta be on top of your stuff and have your life together
This teacher is very intelligent and knowledgeable, yet she still has a sense of humor. I'll never forget when she crawled up on a table and pretended to be a fetus. I have every confidence that her students learn what they need to know and are better nurses because of it. Suck it up and study and you'll do fine.
Dr. Hazelle is really tough. If you aren't willing to study everyday then don't take this class. The subject is hard, and Hazelle doesn't make it easy. She knows what she is talking about. You will be thanking her when you take your Nursing Boards. People who don't do good don't try hard enough!
Dr Hazell is an excellent source of info. Very helpful. Once you take this course you will be able to perform brain surgery:) As long as you have your life together. If you do not want to work and do not want to lean pick another course. This professor is for the serious student only.
Tests are ridiculously hard, and impossible to adequately prepare for. It seems like her goal is to trick you and make you fail.
Strict, informative, energetic, holistic and will help you in times of trouble.
Shes not at all clear. She asks for one thing, and when you do it, its wrong. Shes very condescending also. Her test questions aren't even from the right chapter. I did well in the class, she teaches pretty good, she makes you learn definitely.
I took her class at Widener on Wednesday and Friday nights..she is a tough cookie, but you have to study and you will be ok!
Worst teacher I ever had, she didn't care about the students at all. Won't help you outside of class, very condesending, and rude. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!
shes awesome!
GREAT PROFESSOR! I have honestly learned more from her than any other professor I've ever encountered. She is definately hard and intimidating but once you get to know her and her teaching style her class is so interesting! If you work for it you'll do just fine!
awesome teacher!!! the class seems intimidating at first but she is there to help if you need it. she makes you work for it but you learn so much in the process that it's all worth it
She is really tough...but then you get to know her and you see that it is for your benefit. "Rhonda" as we refered to her has become more then a teacher but a role model. You will forever remeber what you learned in a class that actually made you work for your grade and held you up to standards. Don't take your class if ur lazy, you gonna be SOL
Dr. Hazell is a fantastic professor. She helps you pay attention in class by keeping the topics engaging and interesting. She even connects what you are learning to real life clinical situations that you need to know for exams. Exams are long but she's always there to help. She is not an easy teacher; be prepared to work hard. It's well worth it.
While the class was difficult, Hazell is an amazing professor who knows her stuff! If you want to be prepared for Nursing, I recommend taking her. But understand it will not be an easy class.
Hazell makes you work hard, but every second is worth it. I hated the class until i understood that she really just wants the best for you. Make yourself known. I stayed after and asked for help, until she knew my name. Don't expect to get an A without hard work,But she really is an amazing teacher, and the stuff you learn you will use for life.
She is definitely intimidating and a hard teacher but she teaches the information very well. She wants her students to do well. If you show improvement, or how hard you're working she'll take notice. Don't be afraid to ask her questions and make sure you take notes and use those to study off of.
Dr. Hazell is the toughest professor I've ever had at LaSalle. I had her for my Bio 162 lab, and the tests were so difficult. I studied my butt off, and still ended up with a C+ for the semester. She's insanely smart, and you'll learn a ton...just be willing to put in a ton of work.
Wow Hazell has got to be one of the toughest professors at LaSalle. Hard for me to understand what was going on in the class at times because she gave out so many handouts that were not even on her slideshow that it became hard to even follow along. Test were terrible. I had to withdraw her teaching methods were not good for my learning abilities.
Super nice and helpful, very smart professor. Makes you work for your grade!
She is definitely a tough cookie. She is very smart and pushy in knowing what you need to do but sometimes her comments can come off to be a bit rude.
I thought the online course was easier than expected. I did horribly on the tests, but I had high scores on homework and on the discussion board. Very helpful, but it was a little difficult. I would have failed if I took the course in an actual classroom setting.
Dr. Hazell is a very tough professor to have, the tests are next to impossible to do well on, but the only reason I stayed in her class is because she knew so much information. She is very smart but this class has and still is my biggest struggle.
I only had Dr. Hazell for lab. Her lab exams are challenging and you must study hard for them. I thought the A&P1 lab exams were more straight forward than her A&P2 lab exams. She did give more support (study groups) in A&P1 than she did in A&P2.
If you're going to take her online, be aware that she takes the class extremely seriously. She's good at conveying information well. If I had taken this class in a classroom I would have failed it... it's very difficult material and a lot of pointless memorization. If you're going to take her, do it in an online course and be prepared to work hard.
Rhonda's a really tough, intimidating teacher but she wants the best for her students. Make sure you go to all her study sessions.. They're the main reason I got an A. Take her, she's awesome. she'll prepare you well for clinical and boards.
Hazell, in my opinion, is the best teacher on campus. She's definitely knowledgeable and is really good at transferring that to the class. You really have to go to class and definitely have to study for the test, but it's totally possible to get an A. If you want to actually learn the material and are ready for a bit of a challenge, take her.
Very tough class, could turn you away from your major all together. Much harder than the other anatomy classes here.
Very challenging but amazing teacher. Learn so much more then other anatomy classes here. Would recommend her class to everyone, however tests are hard and you have to work for it.
Dr. H is by far the best Professor I have ever had. Especially if you have a passion for Nursing. She knows her material and reminds you of a walking genius. Her tests are extremely hard, but that is the beauty of her course. You walk away with a full understanding of the material. She will work with you but you have to take the course seriously.
Amazing professor. Very organized. Available whenever a student asks for help. I would recommend this professor.
Dr. Hazell is one of the most passionate, knowledgeable and quite intimidating teachers I have met. Her class is not an easy A, you have to put work into it but it's worth it in the end. She is willing to help students and her lectures are never boring. Her exams are not hard if you study and put time into the class. I would highly recommend her!
Dr. Hazell is exactly the type of teacher any student entering a health care profession needs. Her experience & in-depth knowledge of clinical cases adds to anatomy and physiology so that it becomes relatable. It's tough, but getting an A is definitely possible if you are willing to study and attend weekly review sessions. She has my respect.
At first Dr. Hazell is very intimidating but if you are willing to put a lot of dedication the class is well worth it. I would just recommend taking advantage of all of your resources for help like the SI and study group then you can pass the tests, She is passionate and funny in her lectures. I learned a lot from her class
This class is a challenge but if you engage in the lectures and ask questions you will learn to think on the level of her. You need to learn to think like her to understand her questions and teaching style. Go to the study groups that she hosts they are a lot more helpful than you would think. She is intimidating but she is one of the best teachers
Definitely worth over stressing and feeling like you might pass out when her so called "parties" come closer and closer. I wouldn't trade learning from any other teacher, because she not only teaches you but instills confidence in you as a student. She is definitely worth enduring, but be prepared to study and work hard for your grades!
Hazell's course is not easy, but as long as you attend class, take good notes, and study you'll be just fine. She makes the class interesting by relating clinical correlations to what you learn in lecture, and prepares you very well for nursing classes.
She's super clear, organized, and smart. However, she's not super compassionate. She accepts absolutely NO reason for uploading the wrong file, needing an extension, missing fine print, or life circumstances. Ignore her study guides. There's too much material, you'll drown. Focus on the text. DONT ENROLL if you get by on asking for extensions
I couldn't tell if it was "tough love" or a complete lack of wanting to do anything more than post assignments and let the system grade things for her. But her "stay positive" answer to everything came off as condescending and rude. She has her rules, and I can respect that. But her class will stress you out on work load and attitude.
Where do I begin? Dr. Hazell is one of the most inspirational professors I have yet to encounter by far; this is why you must work, because she really knows her stuff and has high expectations. Thought you will have to study (not cram- will no work) the experience will be well worth it. If your major requires bio 162 why not be taught by the best?
Hazell is incredibly smart and her lectures are amazing! She is a tough professor though, her exams are hard so you have to work for your grade. But you learn a lot more than you would in any other anatomy at La Salle University.
Loved her style of lectures and application to every day things.
Tough, encourages you to get your life together. Yes, she can be hard at times and very hard to get along with, but she wants you to break out of your childish shell and become an adult. Dr. H pushes you to achieve greatness like never before. I can honestly say I remember all she taught me and I will become a better nurse because of her.
One of the best teachers I've ever had. She's so specific, and helpful if you ask for it. Don't hesitate to ask Dr. Hazell for help, she is always willing to work with you if you just ask.
She's definitely pushes you, I don't recommend the class if you are not ready to study everyday. Not very understand. Must take in depth notes and attend all lectures. Very smart women but just not for me learning wise.
Dr. H is a difficult teacher but she really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. If students participate and make an effort to do well, she will help in any way she can.
Dr. Hazell is an amazing person who I genuinely respect so much. As a professor she really knows everything there is to know. However, her class is not easy at all. You really need to work hard and study. STUDY STUDY STUDY. And never miss a lecture because all the tests are based on the information you receive in class.
Took Dr. H for A&P 1 and 2. She is not an easy A but I would definitely recommend her, especially for nursing. I learned so much from her and this class along with being more organized, time management and good study habits. She cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She is always open to help and is flexible with class requests.
Awful professor. Very bad reputation.
Dr. Hazell is tough and makes you work hard for your grade, however she is one of the best professors I have had & I learned more in her classes than any other class I've taken. Show her you're a hard worker and get to know her, she'll give you extra credit if needed. I'd recommend taking her for anatomy as you will really learn and retain the info
Constantly uses "SOL" after saying a "prayer". This practice is unprofessional and contrary to any faith. Constant busy work, rude to students, bad reputation among the students.
She's a very intelligent woman and knows so much about the topics she teaches. Although, you need to be on her good side (by doing your work, participating, and showing effort to do well. She isnt an Easy A at all, you have to work HARD to do well, but if she see's that, she'll bump your grade at the very end. do ur part & she'll notice
Hazell is one of the most intelligent and kind hearted people I have ever met. But, get ready to study and really work. Make study guides, attend every single class, try to participate when you can, and I promise you will do well. The people complaining about her are the ones who don't go to class and don't study and still expect to do well.
hazell isn't easy, this class isn't a joke. she doesn't put up with much, but work hard and participate and you'll see a very fun caring side of her. She is brilliant and taught me so much during the lectures. You might hear a lot of negative and scary things, and while they might be true. she ROCKS, I would take her again in a heart beat.
great class but definitely have to work hard, shes very lecture heavy but provides you with power points and outlines of all the notes. You cant slack off in this class but it is not too much work if you apply yourself and care about the class. Ask questions in lecture, you'll get on her good side. Stay up on your weekly online hw &you'll be fine.
The class is the hardest class that I have had to take at LaSalle University. The professor gives tons of busy work and is a very tough grader. Avoid at all costs.
Dr. H is smart but she is not personable or friendly to students. In my opinion she issues low grades & constantly talks about material that will not be on the exam.
Dr. H is one of the best professors I have had. If you care about your grade so will she. She wants you to succeed so she pushes you to do so. You HAVE to put the work in but it is 100% worth it in the end. Her door is always open, take advantage of that. I would recommend her to anyone going into the medical field and having to take Anatomy.
I had Dr H for 2 semester in a row , I wanted to to challenge myself academically And thats exactly what I got. Her class is tough but I feel she prepares you for the real world. She doesnt offer extra credit because she makes you earn your grade in her class. A lot of people were intimidated by her but once you know her shes kind of awesome.
She is very tough on her students but she does it from the kindness of her heart. Best choice I ever made taking her, gives good feedback need to go to her office hours and ask questions . SHE IS GREAT!
Dr. Hazell is a good teacher, she's hilarious and really cares about us learning. She can be a bit rude and intimidating at times, but get on her good side and you should be okay. The class is pretty easy, just study. Exams sometimes have irrelevant material and you'll need to teach yourself at times, but it's an easy class to keep up with.
Dr. H comes off very rude, but if you keep going to her she will lighten up and give you study tips. She has a very heavy workload but this is my 2nd time having her for anatomy and I now have the hang of it. She really prepares you for later on and makes sure you understand. Would 100% recommend her if you care about actually learning the material
At first, she is super intimating, this goes away quickly. Once you get to know her through her volunteer trips and office hours, she is super funny and really cares for her students. You do have to study hard, but it is not ridiculously difficult. She keeps you engage during lecture, which really helps. I would definitely recommend.
I had a bad experience with this professor, and so did my fellow classmates. She was rude, and does not care about any students opinions or input. She gave us late notice on all of our test requirements, and put things on exams that she said we did not have to know. I would not take her class again due to the amount of unnecessary stress thatoccurs
I have taken Hazell for BIO 161 and 162 in 161 I received a B+. She is very intimidating at first, but definitely go to her office hours and she will give you study tips and extra worksheets. You definitely need to pay attention fall semester because it rolls along right into spring.
Dr. Hazell is one of the BEST professors you can have in BIO lecture and lab. If you are an aspiring nurse, doctor, or medical professional YOU NEED to choose her in order to be the best! Her clinicals are going to be what you may encounter in rotations or clinicals. If you are not mature or actually going into the medical field choose someone else
Dr. Hazell cares so much about her students. Being online was difficult but she made it enjoyable. Tests are BIG and hard so you MUST study. She also rounds final grades especially if you are taking the class to meet a requirement like nursing or com. science and disorders. She is so much fun and makes learning so enjoyable!
She comes off as rude, and no patience to help us. Her lack of organization, becomes our problem when we do not now what to study. Her solution is to rewrite text book and live in lab. I will say the school did do her wrong, by giving her SLP, OT, and PT at the same time. Unfortunately students are suffering, school is in the wrong too.
