She definitely knows her stuff, and i admire that she actually applies what she teaches, very good at explaining and keeps the class interesting. She is very weird sometimes and can come off as rude. Too much homework it gets ridiculous but at least helps to pass because the tests are too hard. Take her if you are willing to attend class every day!

She gives alot of homework! Her personality comes off as rude at times. Her tests are very hard, but if you do all the homework and extra credit it is not hard to get an A. Be preapred to attend every class. Her appearance and attire can be quite distracting, she is not the worst but certainly not the best. Good Luck!

This class is irritating. You email her and it takes a whole week and a half to get a response. This is a good class with a good professor. Her grades are based on a point system. Worry more about the projects than the tests. I made a 50 on a test and still got an A in the class. Not the blow off class that you think it will be, but that doesn't mean that it has to be hard. Do the work and every time she gives you extra credit, go for it, as it usually is pretty easy to get a couple letter grades in extra credit for minimal effort. Overall, I learned a lot and made an A, so I can't complain.

I took this class expecting it to be hard but I've never seen such a unorganized mess of a class.70$ workbook is mandatory and ppt and lecture are hardly useful for getting anything done. 1 or more quizzes a week and many more tests and project poorly explained. i wouldn't take this class again if my life depended on it. I suggest looking elsewhere

You'll need a NEW copy of her textbook for this class. Lots of time-consuming homework but all the exam/quiz answers are in the book and/or lecture slides, so you'll do well if you put in the time. Professor obvs has personal body image issues she brings to the class, so get ready to feel shamed if you're not thin or making "healthy" food choices.

Everything was open book and the test and workbook are clearly a bit outdated/out of sync. In the last week of class, she announced that she would respond to all emails after everything was due because she was behind on grading, yikes! Type A grader, rather than looking at the big picture. Just go w/ a different professor for this one!

I highly recommend this professor for BIOL 1322. Easy class. Responds to emails quickly. Professor offers extra credit. Some cons would be that she can take a while to grade projects and project instructions can be very confusing if you don't pay attention to the lectures.

She's not the absolute worst but I definitely think you can find a better prof for this class. She's just very unorganized and seemed confused half the time. You'll have to purchase her brand new (expensive) textbook. Grades tough on projects but the quizzes were online and easy (w/ quizlet.) It's concerning for how she views "healthy" body weight

Easy Professor. I will say sometimes she can be unorganized and I've noticed a lot of miscommunication conflicts with other/multiple students in the class. But when conflicts or misunderstandings arise she is compassionate and does resolve the issue professionally. If you follow the calendar, do her workbook, and show up to class it's an easy A.

Professor is super knowledgeable and willing to share her knowledge. She answered all my questions. Course is well-structured. Workbook in correlation with textbook is really good in helping to memorize the information. There is more self-studying by the end of the course. Count on that. Follow the syllable terms = A. Extra-credit opportunities.

Easy A if you do all the work. She says she's a "though" grader but I personally think she isn't. Her class is based on points... so you need 800 to get an A+, she gives you 1,000 to work with so there are things you can miss and not be failed for. Overall she's very nice and compassionate, she's a bit unorganized and confused at times.

As the other reviewers have stated, Prof. Lane is very disorganized. A lot of work to do especially in the workbook. All responses in the workbook need to be hand written and then scanned in and submitted for the assignment - HUGE waste of time. If you take the 16 week class, work ahead in the early weeks because it gets difficult towards the end.

I took professor Lane's class for the summer and enjoyed it. She's clearly very passionate about what she is teaching, which makes lectures more enjoyable. She is a very tough grader though. Very detail oriented. She is very sweet and considerate of her students as well. I would take this class if you're able to attend classes regularly.

I was really looking forward to taking this class but I decided it was not for me. She gives a link for the textbook (workbook) that is supposed to be slightly cheaper than the book store, but with shipping and handling it ends up being around the same price or even more. She's the author of the workbook she uses for class, so it's mandatory.

I enjoyed her class. Although she is a bit unorganized she always made sure to work with us even if some didn't agree or like what she used (food logging project). I personally didn't mind using her textbook, she checks it mainly for completion. Was manageable to take with other courses, and she's nice. Just keep a schedule and do the work.

The professor was nice but seemed lost at times. Old content from past semesters made the course hard to navigate. I had to remind her multiple times to fix a grade, and usually had to email twice for a response. Lots of book work and math, but tests and quizzes were easy.

Turn your workbook into your lecture notes, download all slide presentations, TURN EVERYTHING IN ON TIME, and don't make comments about what food you like. She openly shamed me for liking butter on my baked potato. Make sure she likes you for being diligent and responsible. Play her game and tell her what she wants to hear, DO NOT CONTRADICT HER!

Does not update course work per semester, due dates are two years past. Workbook is only graded for completion. The powerpoint activity slides did not reflect the correct pages in the workbook. Hard to navigate. Was able to discuss with her about errors and fixed only the ones regarding announcements not about the workbook/ course work.

Guys, please look into your professors before taking their courses. This professor is relatively nice but seems to get lost during most or all of her lectures. You need two books and one of them she wrote... that one is expensive and mandatory. She also likes to poke at the type of food you like, so just don't mention it.
