Very helpful teacher, likes to make the class laugh every now and then so that the students get involved in the lecture. Took it over the summer and even though it was math material it was not difficult at all or maybe that's because she's a great teacher
Goes to quickly through lectures and her overhead notes. Nice lady but I would not take her again.
the absolute best math teacher i've ever had! she is so clear when teaching the material and makes it extremely easy to understand. she assigns a lot of homework, but if you do it all you will definitely do well on the tests. nicest lady around, looking to take her again in a different class. =)
I HATE math, but she mad it possible for me. She assigns tons of homework and there are a lot of quizes, but if you do it all you will def pass. Her tests are not multiple choice, so you get partial credit iven if the answer is wrong. take her, I plan to again next semester
She works very fast and doesn't review for tests. There is a lot of homework.
Better of just reading the book during class...
She is crazy. She assigns alot of homework every night. You are expected to turn in a homework quiz or two with the homework also. In class you take a daily quiz. She knocks off major points for turning stuff in late. She teaches good but is very fast. Just hope you don't have a hurricane day.
easy and helps u understand alot...teaches like a highschool student
She was a great teacher. Assigned a lot of homework, but what math teacher doesn't. Do the homework and show up to class and you'll do well. Very nice lady and makes math easy to understand if you attend class. Looking into taking her again.
didnt like the way she exlained things.. not very clear.. to much homework for the test being very different than homework... trust me take SALAK for 1033
are you guys kidding? this lady is a breeze, just go to class - be happy that she collects homework with take home quizes sometimes, it really helps you when it comes to test time. she's got to be one of the best math instructors i've ever had. go rhondaaa!!!
She is so nice. And she gives tons of bonus! She does give alot of homework but it really helps to prepare you for the test. She also gives practice test b4 each test and if you do that and understand it you are sure to make an A on the tests!Really good teacher.Seriously I never understood math b4 this class and I am taking excelerated summer B term.
Ms.Macleod is an awesome math teacher! She gets to the point and explains math the easiest way it could be teached. I took he in the summer A term and she does give lots of bonus and extra credit quizzes. She assigns alot of homework but only odds because the answers are in the back of the book. If you take her, you will completely satisfied.
She is the best. Teaches kind of fast though, so take notes, and digest it later. Gives lots of homework, but it really helps. She doesn't check it, but gives HW quizes. Theres no guessing about what you need to know for test. If you study the test review, you'll do great. Alot of them are identical questions. Thanks "highlander"
Not impressed at all
She is one of the very best teachers I have ever had. I am horrible at math and she really helped my enjoy, understand and like it a lot more! I would take her for all of my math classes if I had a chance. She honestly cares about you and if you put forth effort she is willing to work with you.
Great Teacher. I got an A.. I don't know anyone who got less than a B. Lots of EC and Take Home quizzes. Take her before her classes get full. Very considerate and understanding. Must have teacher for any Math Subject! :)
I was so bored. It was nice that she got so excited about the subject but I wish it could have been conveyed more to the students. It took her 2 days to teach how to solve for X! If I didn't have tetris on my calculator I don't think I would have survived.
I love this teacher. Do your homework and you'll get a good grade. I made an A. She give take home quizzes and goes over HW. Don't miss too much class or you will get behind, like any mATh class. Great teacher! Would def take her again.
Unfare teaching. alot of busy work!!!
The class is extremely easy. She lets you turn in homework the day of the test. I usually skipped most of her classes then turned in the homework on testdays. Doesn't give quizzes up to two days after tests(great skip days.) Nice, helpful, only mean if you're ignorant. EASY A.
One of the best teachers at TCC. She makes sure everyone knows how to do the problems before moving on to the next lesson. I would love to take her again for any other math class.
She is very helpful and easy to understand
Great professor! Very clear and helpful. Go to classes, take notes, and do you homework, and you'll do fine. I would definately take her again.
I really love this teacher. She is one of the best math professor at T.C.C. She is very clear and concise about what and how she wants you to do things and how things should be done. I would take her again if I had to take another math course.
I found this instructors class to be tough. Do not take an online class with her. The help is hard to find, the tests were confusing and full of mistakes, and it was a terrible experience
I absolutlely love her! The people in my class complain that she goes to fast but I don't think so at all..I have never been a good math student and I get straight A's in her class...she is very good at explaining and if you do your homework you will get a good grade...she does do homework notebooks that are turned in before each test, very easy.
She is the best math teacher I've ever had. She is willing to go over the material with you in her office until you understand it. I wouldn't have been able to pass this class with another teacher.
She is confusing. Her reviews for tests are horriable! She's unclear with material. She teaches straight from the book and was still confusing.I dont think she can make up her own problems. She may be a new teacher for higher math classes.I have an average background in math.I still had to drop the class. She's forgetful too.
Math being my weakest subject is already a problem but with help from the math lab, doing all the work, and trying to stay awake in class still didnt help. Even speaking with her and going on one on one wasnt working. bottom line all the extra work she gives may only help to get you to a "D" she is un clear and makes work harder than it should be.
She was awful. If you want someone that's going to explain the work then don't take her. She get's attitudes when you ask to many questions. DON'T TAKE HER!!!!!!
She's speedy gonzalas in teaching... Had more help from other students than her. I dropped her class because I didn't feel like stopping her every 5 minutes to ask questions. Most of the other confused students didnt say anything either. NO CALCULATORS WTF THIS ISN'T PRE-ALG?! I took notes, showed up everyday and still couldn't understand her.
I can't believe this teacher... I was sooo freakin close to passing this class and she wouldn't raise my "D" to a "C" so I would give her an "F"!!!!!!!
Rhonda Macleod was a good teacher. True, she does breeze through the material pretty fast, but if you do the work she tells you to do, you will be fine. She is a good teacher for those that will go to the University, especially in mathematics. You will know what to expect.
she sucks she expects you to already know how to do everything and if you dont she looks at you like you are a retard
Great teacher and an easy class. You have little homework to turn in and she posts everything on blackboard. She gives keys for all the hw and quiz assignments to help you.
she was a great teacher. you deff have to study, but shes willing to help at any time. She teaches the material very clearly and prepares you well for higher levels of math.
Kind of hard. Make sure you do your work. You don't get a free ride here but she really wants you to learn.
I love this teacher! She is very willing to help you. Textbook not mandatory. She gives out lots of handouts to help you learn concepts, and will tell you what is on the test. She gives lots of quizzes, but some of them wind up being group or take-home. Always come the class after a test. That is her pet peeve, and she may give bonus points.
Absolutely wonderful teacher! loves math and is very dedicated to her students. some students complain, but you just have to understand that math is a challenging subject and you have to study and keep up.
i dont know why her easiness level is so high. nice lady and all, but thinks her students know whats shes talking abotu and understand everything shes teaching just because she does.im an A student and im currently failing all her tests.
I don't know why there are so many comments about her being such a great teacher. She is very tough. Gives you tons of definitions and barley any examples. She expects you to understand it off the bat so when she gives examples she goes through them really fast and does not care to explain what she did. Take her if you want to work your butt off
Best math teacher I have ever had. I have not taken an algebra class for 4 years and I failed the last one I took. Do the homework and she will make sure you understand it. A's are no problem for those who try.
She is a good teacher. Don't take her over the summer as the class goes really fast. All the homework is online. I never even used the text book. She is really particular in grading, but she is nice and I ended her class with a B. Just make sure you show that her that you are trying in the class.
Great professor. Took her for college algebra after failing twice. actually failed her first two tests but only because i was not trying hard enough. Passed the class with a "C. Just show her that you're serious and really trying and she will help you as much as she can. Don't think I would have passed with another teacher
She's a great teacher. I love her.
She's a nice teacher, makes most of the questions easier to solve, but do be careful on her test, few mistakes will make you lose a lot of points! Like make sure you put "x=" before all the problems, just an advice you should know when you take that class. :)
If you are not already EXCELLENT at math, do NOT take her! I'm an A student and attended her class everyday and never understood what she was talking about. She teaches like everything is a review and you should already know it. She does problems that take up the whole board and doesn't bother explaining what exactly she is doing!! DONT TAKE HER!
Her teaching style is everywhere. She will do a whole chapter in one day. She teach til the end of class. If its 3 minute left she still will be teaching and will let you know she have 3 minute left. Never miss a day.
Not a very good teacher at all! Teaching style isn't very good. Went to her office for help and she acted to busy to even help me. Her office is unorganized and i don't know how she ever can find anything. Calls you out in class about things that should be talked about in private, very embarrassing.
She is all over the place with teaching style. I am good at math but she doesn't give you time to learn or understand the math. She acts as if you are reviewing and can figure problems out as fast as she can in her head. We had quizzes in class every other class and 2-3 online due each week! Craziness, very time consuming!Put x= for every problem!
Great teacher, gotta do the work and study but shes nice and helpful. Taking her again for calc 2. Recommended!
Not a good teacher. She is all over the place. She won't allow you to make up quizzes for ANY reason. She won't help you out and won't round you grade. Not even a point. Seriously take anyone else... you're GPA will thank you. Boring class. Boring teacher. Yuck!
Took her for honors pre-calculus. I'm not a math person but I ended up with a B in this class. Her lectures are good, she saves her well-explained notes from class and posts them on BB for us. Before mid-term and final, she gives out practice tests along with answers. She really did a great job preparing us for Calculus 1.
she started out good, at least in terms of comminicating with me. its the end of summer session and now she has become unreachable by email or phone. this instructor is inconsistent and unreliable when it comes to finding out pertinent things such as clarifying conflicting information in her own syllabus..take someone else for this class.
Amazing. She introduces a new topic, writes it all out in words on the board regardless of the difficulty- shows the proof, 2-4 examples, restates the idea, talks about applications, moves on. EXTREMELY helpful out of class with any issues even if they are about math other than the class you are taking.
Horrible teacher! She teaches as if we already know the material and when asked to slow down during her lecture, she just ignored the request. She doesn't upload grades to blackboard. She likes to ask questions that trick you on the test. The only class I've ever failed at TCC. I advise everyone to take any other professor!
BEST MATH TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD! She explains everything very well and is open for any questions! She's a very nice lady and wants you to do well in her class. She gives a bunch of bonus quizzes and practice tests for every test! If you try you will get an A! I am excited to take her again next semester!
Shes a nice lady.BUT her way of teaching isn't very helpful. She only has tests and quizzes in the gradebook, there is online homework that she doesn't collect, its just for practice. When the quizzes come around she tricks you by throwing extra things that haven't been practiced in the homework. The quizzes are never takehome.its a loselose situation
I do not recommend taking this teacher. She is not horrible if you have no other option. She discusses topics quickly without time to fully comprehend the material. She only gives 3 tests which are hard but not tricky. We all learn math differently and I, personally, did not like her style.
Mrs. Macleod is not meant to be a teacher. She doesnt realize that writing a problem out on the board isnt teaching. She is very rude when you ask her for clarity. I wouldn't recommend anyone take this class from her. Seriously, the learning commons was a better teacher than her. She is nice though, just not meant to educate.
If you are the type of person who learns out of a book, than Ms Macleod is fine to take. The examples she uses are straight out of the text, and she does not give time to answer questions about homework; Instead she refers you to her office hours. Just be warned, your book (or tutor) will be your best friend in this class.
Just don't take the hybrid computer course unless you want to learn almost the entire course by yourself and a peer tutor. She's a good teacher and she cares but just make sure to take the regular classroom course.
Best Professor Ever!!!! Just go to class and you will be fine. Very nice lady.
proofs...
Very hard course. I took her online for MAC1105. I would recommend someone else for sure. She's prompt when answering questions but her class takes alot of focus an dedication!
Very hard teacher, would not recommend her. Taking the class online and i am struggling. The tests are very difficult and are weighted way too harshly. Have emailed her before asking for help and never got a response.
Very precise on the teaching, sometimes abit annoyed. Attendance ofcourse in calc 2 is mandatory, tons of quizzes to keep you up, very helpful lady, and the exams are hard if you don't know what you're doing. Best of luck!
She is a very nice woman, who is pretty easy to get along with. I was enrolled in her MAC1105 class, and she was quite helpful. For every quiz we had, she would have an optional bonus quiz that would replace the grade of a quiz that I did poorly on. She made it relatively easy, and her tests were never too hard.
She was a great teacher! Her class was super easy, it was just a bit time consuming. As long as you did the homework she assigned and studied for her tests you'll get an A. She is really picky about you showing your work. You have to show every step correctly to get full credit, other than that it was a really easy class!
Great professor! By far the best math professor I have had. When I didn't understand something, she explained it until I understood, sometimes in different ways. She works with you. No make-up quizzes but gives enough that 1 won't hurt if you miss. But do not miss lecture class! you will be lost.
Very difficult online. She is very helpful, BUT assigns a great deal of work along with mandatory supplements. If you can't dedicate 80% of your time to her online class do NOT take her. You will burn out. The tests are hard and don't always match the practice material. Just my thoughts, not trying to bash her at all.
DO NOT TAKE THIS ONLINE CLASS This class is extremely difficult and she does not explain the material lots of supplements with no help for how to solve the problems and students asked but still got vague responses. The final is 39 questions and some problems you never covered. If you are a teacher your job is to teach she does not teach.
Class is farily hard, particularly online. A lot of handouts. If you're not a visual learner, and able to pull yourself through the problems by what's written on paper alone, you will have difficulty taking this class online. However, she will spend lots of time assisting you during office hours, so she IS helpful.
OMG!! The hardest class I took at TCC so far. Yes, I know math is not difficult and requires studying but geesh I wish I knew I was getting myself into. Will have a quiz almost every time you go to class and will have plenty of homework and quizzes online. Do not miss class! She's a fast paced teacher and expect you to know the basics .
Great professor, really cares about her students and if they understand the material. Her class is not hard at all, but you do actually have to work for your grade if you're not good in math. She's really nice and always willing to provide extra help if you need it.
Gives an extreme amount of online work. I went with her pacing guide and still was unable to complete the right amount before the test so I had to cram. Tests are 65% of the grade even though there's far more homework and quizzes. Doesn't let you take the tests online, there are 3 tests for the semester. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.
Horrible amount of online homework and quizzes, however if you don't pass the 3 exams you fail. Everything except the exams are done through MyMathLab. Exams MUST be taken at a proctored location, and are not offered online. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! Homework and quizzes are worth nothing compared to the exams, which sucks if you're a poor test taker.
Be sure to get your recommendation from Windham, so that this class will be the easiest A in your life. Attendance is not mandatory, just show up for the tests.
Last term I took this lady and almost killed me. I know people will come on here and say you were failing. Well, I was not! I drop out because the class work was to much to handle with my other studies. I couldn't keep up! I was helped by a Adviser and she moved me to other class. Less work, funner and a lot easier! Passed! DO NOT TAKE THIS WOMAN
I'm honestly not one to give a bad review but she is not a good teacher for the online algebra... This is my opinion, I'm not good at math, I work and am a full time student. Algebra is my enemy and this teacher kinda gives way too much work and little time to do it. She probably is a great teacher in person just not online for those who struggle.
I took Differential Equations (MAP2302) with Ms. MacLeod a few semesters back and had a blast. She truly cares about her students and teaching in general. She certainly makes sure that if you pass her class that you know your stuff. Fantastic professor and person.
Awful teacher. I took College Algebra II online. I got an A on all the homework and quizzes. I used an online graphing calculator that was easier to use than the graphing calculator I had. She was very unhelpful when it came to getting help using a graphing calculator. Because of this I ended up failing the tests and withdrawing for the first time.
PROOFS ABOVE. SHE DOESN'T TEACH SHE DOES THE WORK. WHICH MAKES IT HARD TO UNDERSTAND
Don't take her online classes unless you're actually going to spend the time doing all of the homework and learning the material. She will go the extra mile for you if you don't understand the material, and she sets up online conferences where she will walk you through a problem on a whiteboard multiple times per week.
In Precalc with Algebra she was a pretty good teacher, however, she used up every minute of the class. Her class isnt too hard, all of the homework is not required and tests are not too long. She also cares a lot about her students and will remember your name.
This is my first time online and I hate that she was who I chose. She devided my exam grade in half and weighed them separately instead of adding them to make one Test 1 grade. This brought my 87% B to an 40% F, that's now impossible to bring back up.
Tough. If you are not gifted in math, I think you should look elsewhere. That being said, she does do conferences and they are helpful. There's a boatload of homework and the exams are much harder than the practice exams. Exams are 65% of your grade and final is 25% (homework 10%). She makes you WORK, but I can say I definitely know algebra now.
There is a lot of homework/module work!! I guess that is what you get instead of campus work.... it's manageable she does give "late passes" which can be very helpful. She uploads a lot of stuff so it can be hard to navigate but you can figure it out if you want an A.
I took her online MAC1105 class and she was very helpful. There is a lot of module work but she does give very good study guides for the tests. You pretty much only need to study the study guide for the written tests. She even gives out late passes for all of the module work.
Professor MacLeod was very nice, but if youre not quick at learning math I would not take this class. She uses every minute of class everyday and if you dont go to class one day you will miss a lot. There is a lot of online homework and quizzes that are required to pass.
I took MAC1105 online. The tests are stressful because someone literally watches you while you take it, but they are not hard. I am not good at math but she makes the class easy but giving us enough practice before tests and you can redo any assignment except for tests and quizzes. Also she is always willing to help you.
I took MAC1105 online. Each week there is a homework exercise and quiz for 2 modules each. Every 4 modules you have a review quiz for the unit and a test. As long as you watch all the videos and do all the homework you should pass. Shes awesome about responding quickly if you need any help. Would take again!
If Rhonda Cant teach you math no one can . I have taken countless math professors at tcc and have passed and failed many. Much of the time having to retake the class because i am passionate about my major, you just have to make it over the hump. Rhonda is the perfect Professor to do so. Given if you have ADHD like me or just plain bad at math.
