Teaches beyond classroom requirements, AWESOME! Great mentor and very dedicated and inspiring.

Teaches fine. You need to really pay attention, dont plan on reading the book and passing. You need to participate and get involved, really get involved. You need to think for yourself if you want to pass and make yourself known to her. Atleast she makes you think for yourself

She is great and she made a difference in my life and i can not thank her enough. If you don't like her teaching still you should of left after the first day of class. Your fault for staying with her.

This teacher's HMD101 is one of the best classes I've ever taken. You get tons of insight from industry insiders, who do guest lectures. COO's, presidents, and HR managers are among those who will appear. Perfect introd course and a teacher who puts a lot of effort into getting the best speakers.

She is an amazing human being and that is why she is an amazing teacher. I am inspired every class and I enjoy every minute of it. She has sored passed any of my expectations and it will be extremely difficult for any other teacher or mentor to reach her level and successes.. ever!

She is a great person! she gives u full pts if u do the work on time/many extra pts She is understanding and kind! However u won't really learn much she always talks about her life Might be a great mentor though if u visit her office personally

Rhonda is a wonderful person with so much to offer her students. She brings in amazing guest speakers that we have been privileged to have. I doubt other professors care this much for their students and I'm very lucky to have found her. I'll follow her through out my whole college education. Thanks!

This is an amazing Prof I wish all of the hotel profs were like her. Keeps you intrested in the material with laughs to keep you awake. I was a student of her, a TA and now her mentee. Who ever is hesitating to take her...your a fool if you don't

If you turned all the assignments in before the deadline, you'll get an A. She is quite unique person I've ever met. She teaches w/ her favorite music, and sometimes shd dances.. It's easy and fun? class. Exams are online and very easy.

Rhonda is still my FAVORITE prof ever. I actually looked forward to going to her class. She was a toal kick and had some amazing guest speakers come in.

I loved Dr. Montgomery. Yeah, the class wasnt brain surgery, but you still had to attend in order to know what was going on. Infact that was the only class I always went to. I would recommend her to anyone that isnt afraid to be challenged in class. SHE IS GREAT !

Very good about being in touch to the real world (at times). Great guest speakers. She has a different approach to teaching, sort of "Dead Poets Society". Be careful men, expressing your opinion, about the sexes in particular, may land you on her s*** list. However, if you stick out in a good way, opportunities may arise.

I like her, she is a good prof. and she wasn't went to vacation, her father was sick, she just went to see him. Anyway, she is a crazy prof, and all her quizes, exams, and notes are post online. You will have fun in her class!

She is very loud and funny. She is really lazy. You will get the 1st assign.grade after midterm or so. Her exam is open book , you need to take online.Attendance is very important. She just give attendance points randomly. Sometimes it is huge points. Make sure to go to every classes! She cancels the class a lot without notice. otherwise she's good

She is pretty cool and easy except she is rather harsh. She doesn't really teach much except for a few pearls here and there. She doesn't require attendance but she gives participation points so you need to listen to her babble any way. She is VERY liberal (though she claims otherwise) so you better be willing to put up with it.

GO TO CLASS! lots of participation points earned if you just show up. Also, get to know her personally if you want a career in Hospitality, she is a great networking opportunity. Also, the class was enjoyable and fun.

Very easy class. Good teacher very enthusiastic about her work. Learned a lot but missed the couple of days for attendance points which REALLY affected my grade. Takes random attendance participation points so make sure you go to every class.

This class was quite easy but Professor Montgomery hardly ever came to class because she was sick. Homework was quite easy and the tests were all online based on the powerpoints. I did not learn too much but I got an A so there is not much to complain about.

As I prepare to graduate I realize the Dr. Montgomery impacted my life more than any other professor -- she taught me more than anyone else. SHE ROCKS!

Rhonda helped me decide on my major and now as I get ready to graduate I realize that I owe a lot to all that she taught me 4 years ago during HMD 101 & TCA 201.

I'm a UNLV alum returning to Graduate School and I'm realizing just how much Prof. Montgomery taught me 10 years ago. She motivated me to learn and taught me that learning doesn't end when I left UNLV. She is the reason I'm returning to graduate school.

Dr. Montgomery care for her student she come to see me in hospital wen i have surgery and always meet with me on campus whenever i needed to she was always in her office during office hours and used great guest speakers.

Rhonda is one of the nicest professors i haev had at UNLV she works very hard she taught very big classes but always had time for her students she went to lunch with students every week and made time to introduce students to her guest speakers and hel her students find jobs

I was a teaching assistant for Dr. Montgomery and had an incredible experience. As I prepare for graduation, I realize that I learned more from her during the time I spent in class and as her TA about the hospitality business and about life in general than I have at any other point in my life. If you have a chance TAKE HER CLASSES!

I had the opportunity to take an Advanced Professional Development Seminar w/Rhonda my 3rd year at UNLV It was a GREAT class. Take any class from her you can. You won't regret it!

I got a GREAT job after taking this class from Rhonda she helped me pick out my interview outfit and when I went to her office she did mock interviews with me for hours until I felt comfortable no other professor showed me this kind of attention I'll never forget her.

I just got my 3rd promotion using the career portfolio Dr. Montgomery taught me how to prepare 5 years ago in her class. I've continued to update it every 6 months and it impresses my managers every time I use it to show my contributions to the organization. It is one of the most important things I learned at UNLV. i took professional dev. from dr. montgomery & i learned soooo much from her she was very nice and her assignments were great. here tests were fair and she used guests speakers that helped me get a great job.

Dr. Montgomery was my mentor for 4 years & she gave so much of herself to me. She invited me to her home for meals, to share holidays, she helped me choose classes and instructors as well as internships, she helped me make career decisions and opened the right doors for me to get the interviews I need to land the job I really wanted.

i took meeting planning from dr montgomery because i heard she had written a book on the subject she really knew her stuff and she was so much fun she always had time for us and always answered our e-mails and made lots of comments on our papers you have to write a lot but you learn a lot take her classes

Dr. Montgomery helped me get the perfect job by teaching me what the industry wants. She is tough on you and may not tell you what you want to hear but she tells you the truth. Some people don't like her but she doesn't care about being liked she cares about her students getting jobs and learning what they need to know.

I took Dr. Montgomery for 383 3 years ago and learned so much from her. She was great! I just heard she will be teaching the capstone class in TCA and I can't wait. She is amazing. She cares so much about her students and about teaching. Take her if you get the chance you won't regret it!

This class helped me to decide what I wanted to do when I graduated. Dr. Montgomery was incredible. She helped me get an internship with a CSM in town and then helped me work with a wonderful person in LA. She was always available to talk with and responded to my e-mails promptly. She was my favorite professor at UNLV.

Dr. Montgomery is a great professor. She really cares about her students and loves her subjects. You learn a lot.

Dr. Montgomery changed my life. I took an advanced professional development class with Rhonda and I'm still learning from the things we discussed in this class. I just graduated and I will always remember Rhonda as one of the most important professors/teachers in my educational professors. If you have a chance to take her class JUST DO IT!

Dr. Montgomery was a wonderful professor who helped me find a job in special events and helped the class produce two great events.

Rhonda was fantastic! We had a couple of terrible students in our class and she was always cool when dealing with them, while helping the rest of us to keep our focus. I love her and will always remember her and stay in contact with her.

Dr. Montgomery is a great teacher. Her class is hard, but if you put in the effort you will do fine. She is the type of teacher that will serve as a mentor in your future, the connection you put forth in class will help you. She has helped me to realize Events is where I want to be and has even helped me get a job. I strongly recommend her.

She was very nice. She missed alot of classes but in fairness she was sick. Basically an intro to college class for freshman. Read books for iclicker and quizzes. Boring, but easy class. Her TA's were OK. They take long to respond to emails. Required discussion class -_- Just attend class and recitation, both 50 minutes each and you will get an A.

This class is an easy class, do all the assignments and homework follow the ways, you will be fine.

This is a very easy class. You have a lot of guest speakers and a weekly online quiz which you will need the book to pass. There are a few times when you have to do assignments on the guest speakers, but it is easy to knock out in an hour or two. Super easy, just show up to your discussion group classes and you will be fine.

Easy class as long as you show up. The class is basically pointless, I didn't really learn much. Rhonda is a really great lady and she's super enthusiastic.

I love Rhonda. This class was definitely one of my favorites. Yes she can be obnoxious sometimes, but she wants you to pass. She brings in guest speakers and you NEED to take notes during the class because you will get tested on it in your class w/ the GA. Assigns 3 Guest speaker papers in the semester so make sure to take notes and you'll pass.

She doesn't really teach the discussion, brought guest speakers in for almost every class, for some it was mandatory to attend because we had to write papers on them. After 3 absences your grade is marked down 10%. One quiz due each Sunday. 2 pg single spaced papers on guest speakers were annoying but overall the class was pretty easy.

Not about Montgomery but you better hope you don't get Jose as your discussion leader for her class!! Rudest man I have ever encountered. I don't even have him as my discussion leader but the few encounters I have had with him he was very rude. Kelly is awesome!!

Rhonda is nice. Class is an easy A, no final. Everyone doesn't like Jose but it's because everyone's used to being spoon-fed. He was funny and I had an A all throughout the semester. If you didn't pass or didn't get a good grade, it's cause ppl love to whine and not take responsibility. Loved guest speakers; Eddie Rivera was the best!!

Dr. Montgomery is an awesome professor and look forward to taking a class with her in the future. She is insightful and cares about the future of her students. Lots of guest speakers, quizzes are easy, but miss more than 3 classes and automatically fail. Also, must participate in a community service project. Really fun professor overall.

Dr. Montgomery was a great Orofessor. She fit a wonderful job of introducing me to the industry. She also hooked me up with a mentor in the meetings industry. I'm so excited I can't wait to take another class from her. I took her for TCA 103 and I hope to be able to take a couple of more classes from her. She is a great teacher

Dr. Montgomery is by far, one of the most caring, respectful, gracious, funny, disciplined and inspirational instructors I have ever known! I have over 180 credits so I speak from experience and you can tell she does as well! She's extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the subject which was and continues to be a true inspiration!

Rhonda is very nice, but does not do much in terms of teaching the course. Your grade comes from the discussion class with a Grad Student. Take Ted if you can, he is great! Work is not difficult, just do it! Don't be lazy and you will get an A. Weekly online quiz, quiz every week in DIS class based on reading, a few papers throughout the semester.

Shes a really great teacher. Shes incredibly funny and makes her lectures very interesting. Grading for TCA 103 is done by her GA's. Make sure you get a good one. I got an easy grader so it was a breeze but others had hard graders.

Dr. Montgomery is a true gem. She truly truly cares about her students and wants them to truly learn the material and understand it to be successful in the industry. She doesnt believe in testing students to trick them. She only tests them to make sure they understand what was taught in order to be successful in the real world. Her class is great!

Easy class and I learned from it. She cares about her students and lovessss to talk. She definitely knows her way around the industry and offered great insight. Really don't need to show up or pay attention but I did because she really is an amazing individual. Tests are pretty easy and there wasn't any hw really.

She is a super nice person but definitely not for everyone. She is very loud and talks constantly for the whole lecture. You do not need to show up at all to pass. The things she covers in the lecture she posts on Canvas too so its kind of a waste of time. Overall, she cares a lot about her students but only if the students care too.

Professor Montgomery's class has been my easiest this semester. Attendance does not matter for her lecture portion since all the material is online. However, the discussion portion does require you to participate but it is super simple and taught in smaller groups by Graduate Students. She is willing to help with her class or any other class.
