Excellent teacher - she made the scriptures come alive and made class very enjoyable. Great sense of humor!!!

She is so amazing and generally seems to care about her students. She loves the scripture and can teach without being preachy. She is a little flighty/space sometims... but she's a sweety!!

Sister Seamons is an excelent teacher. She knows the Gospel, and more than that she knows how to teach.

Sister Seamons has helped me in many ways. She knows the gospel and is willing to teach all that she knows to be true. Her testimony has definately increased my desire to learn the gospel. I am also going to take English with her next semester because I like her teaching style. She is random and goes off on tangents sometimes.

She caught me off guard at first because of how totally out there she is. But you get used to it and she's hilarious. The class was super easy and she was willing to do anything to make sure everyone was ready for the tests. almost too easy.

She was funny and the class wasn't really difficult. Tests were take home. But she nails ya if you don't attend. So if you struggle with that don't go to her class or just make it not an early morning one. I loved her class when I was there and awake!

She does have an interesting personality, but I know that she is much easier to take children's lit. from than other teachers.

Sister Seamons is an amazing, hilarious teacher! She was always willing to help with papers and push back deadlines a little to make things easier for her students. I highly reccomed her!

She is so amazing and such fun to have as a teacher. She really knows her stuff. You can tell she has such a passion for teaching children and has a lot of experience.

Sis. Seamons is totally awesome for child lit. She spends a minimum of time on basics of lit like theme, style, etc. The class is basically a chance to read and become familiar with children's book. Just read books and write something short about them. Easy schedule for the reading and she makes class so fun. Loved her!

She is a little odd but really knows her stuff. She frequently takes time out of class to answer questions that students have sent her.

Sister Seamons is amazing! She is so nice, funny, approachable, and has an amazing Spirit. Grammar is very important and she helps you understand everything. Getting assignments done is easy because everything you do gets you closer to a finished paper. You don't just have a five page paper due in three days. She is my favorite teacher of all time.

Children's Literature with Sister Seamons was my favorite class of the semester! This amazing woman really makes her classroom a ton of fun and you have excellent discussions. You want to go to class because she is just hilarious and has great insights. I would HIGHLY recommend her to ANYONE!

Sister Seamons is a hoot! Loved this class. It was super easy but enjoyable and I learned a lot about how to use children's literature. It was nice because it was not stressful and the homework is really easy. The longest part is just reading the books. We read the picture books in class which is nice too. Would take this class again in a heartbeat

There are not words to describe how much Sis. Seamons loves what she does. I would take every class, every semester from her if I could. She is so knowledgable and is the sweetest person you have ever met! TAKE HER CLASS!!

If you like to read - this will be a breeze. Sister Seamons is always trying new ways of teaching and they're effective! Do not buy the books. She will always have lots for you to borrow and she gives you adequate time to read them. She is kind and understanding, but keep up with your work so you're not up until 3 in the morning reading a novel.

She is a great teacher. Attendance is definitely mandatory. Don't buy the books she is really great at letting you borrow her books. The assignments are clear, just read the books. Be honest, it's mostly on your honor. She is engaging, approaching, and hilarious. Wonderful women and great teacher.

I love Sister Seamons, but she requires a LOT of work. We had almost an hour of homework a night, which I thought was a little unreasonable for a religion class. However, her lectures are entertaining and pretty insightful. Her Book of Mormon class will be a good experience if you're willing to do a ton of homework.

She is a pretty good professor. I really loved the subject matter of this class and I learned a lot from her about how to teach literature to children because she has had years of experience and is passionate about the subject.

Best professor I have ever had. Not only is this class very easy, but she makes the class super fun and enjoyable. This is the only childrens lit class that you do not have to write essays for! Just show up and participate in group discussions and do the reading and you will get an A! I have 100% and I did not have to do much.

I loved this class. You get to read for homework. True they are usually books for young kids, but it is a nice break compared to the college level courses we do. Sister Seamons is a little different but funny, engaging, and truly enjoys what she teaches. I would highly suggest taking her class.

It's an English class so be prepared to do a lot of writing. But, if you can keep up it's really easy to do well. Sister Seamons is super helpful and has the whole class structured to get you through the class as best as she can! And she's pretty funny!

Sister Seamons definitely is the best Children's Lit teacher. She has you read tons and tons of picture books which I love. Other teachers hardly touch on picture books. Her weekly assignments are very simple and easy and fun. She has such a strong love for teaching, book, and the gospel. She is very understanding and a very caring person.

I am not a writer but this class was very doable. I love Sister Seamons, she is hilarious. She actually cares about her students and wants us to do well. We had to write a total of 20 edited pages. She was very helpful every step of the way in the writing and editing process. Almost every assignment became part of an idea or paper.

Sister Seamons is the best. I have loved her class and my advice to those who need to take this class is to take it from her. She makes it fun and easy and you leave better prepared to use literature in your classroom.

Sister Seamons is such a great teacher! Be ready to read, because you'll end up reading 60+ novels and picture books, but it's so worth it! She teaches you how to integrate children's literature into classroom curriculum! She makes it so fun! One day, she read us a book about a barn dance, and then we all got up and she taught us a square dance! :)

Sister Seamons is a good teacher. She put effort into the lessons, and had many new insights about the Book of Mormon. However, for the homework, you are required to spend a certain number of hours on readings. You get to choose what you read/ do in addition to the assigned reading, but you'll never have a short assignment.

Sister Seamons was the best professor I had all semester and I always looked forward to going to her class (& it was at 8am)! She is so hilarious and crazy, but will totally inspire you to become a better teacher! Her class was fairly easy, but there is A LOT of reading, but that is to be expected. I would take every class from her if possible! :)

Sister Seamons wants you so succeed! When you write papers she will let you bring them to her and she will grade them and give you good feed back. She also always has time to help you outside of class. She is hilarious and makes the class fun. Lots of papers to write but she is really helpful! NO TESTS!

Sister Seamons is very entertaining, although she can be very scatter-brained at times. However, I still enjoyed her class a lot.

Do not take English 301 from anyone else! She is one of the greatest professors I've had and that's saying a lot for an English teacher. She makes papers doable and really makes sure you understand the material and guidelines. She has the perfect balance of story telling and lecturing. Great teacher, really knows her stuff!

Seriously, she made me change the way that I thought about my ability of writing papers. She doesn't use irrelevant, nit-picky english rules. She helps you apply it to YOUR future career. Not to an english professor's career. She made me love two write papers. She is flexible, hilarious, and very willing to help you do whatever you need to get an A

Sister Seamons was seriously one of my favorite professors--BY FAR! She is so smart and integrates her real-world knowledge extremely well with Children's Literature. Would highly recommend.

I LOVED children literature with Sister Seamons. I found myself never missing class, not because she was strict about it, but because I wanted to come. She can talk and talk but everything that she says is hilarious! Most of us just sit there and listen to her talk about lit, it is great! You read a novel a week! But they are children and are good.

I tell EVERYONE to take Sister Seamons; I can't say enough good things about her. She's one of the smartest, funniest, sweetest people I've ever met. She had such an impact on my education and I'm so grateful to have taken Children's Lit from her.

One of the best teacher's I've ever had! I couldn't wait to come to class every day and although there is a lot of reading, you have the option to choose something shorter if you need to. The books we read are great and she is hilarious, caring, and taught me SO MUCH! Please take this class, it was so fun and she is the sweetest!

I really really like Sis. Seamons!! She is an older lady, and look like a typical harsh professor. But she is so hilarious! She truly loves reading and children and if you stay on top of your work, I'm sure you will enjoy this class. Take her!!!

Sister Seamons is hilarious! Coming to class was actually fun, and she lets you choose your own topic as long as it follows the paper structure. She gives amazing feedback and is very easy to reach outside of class. You can tell she cares about your success. I loved her!

Sister Seamons is Hilarious. She is also a no-nonsense type of person, which makes her character quite interesting. She could have made it on Broadway. She has a unique hands-on approach to learning APA and uses examples of mistakes made by students in the class. Don't be offended if she fills up your final draft with her infamous red pen!

Sister Seamons' class helped me survive my busy semester. She is witty and very entertaining. The class is really laid back and she often goes on tangents, but she makes sure that the material is covered. She does a review before every test (right before you take it) so you are well prepared. I'd definitely recommend Sister Seamsons!

Sister Seamons is a real gem. This class was so much fun and I definitely learned a lot about language and literacy. You get the chance to read children's books during class as well as for homework along with writing a summary. At the end of every unit there is a test but they are pretty easy. She also helps you understand the material clearly.

Professor Seamons is by far the best English teacher I have ever had. I have always struggled with writing but her style of corrections and going over papers in class was perfect for me! She uses students' papers as in class examples I found this extremely helpful. Took the class during COVID crisis

She's a little like,, quirky I guess, but it's generally entertaining. and I enjoyed her class. You can miss like 3-5 classes and still do well. Over zoom she didn't care about cameras off or eating in front of the camera. She puts her powerpoints online. She's a little judgemental but not an obnoxious amount. Lots of writing, generally easy class.

Sister Seamons was honestly a life savior. I went into this class being scared for my life because.. well... it's a level 300 English class. Regardless of the fact, she was super supportive and always gave amazing feedback. The way she structured the assignments made putting together our big essays much easier. I thoroughly enjoyed her class.

Sister Seamons was a really great teacher who knew what she was talking about. She related the material to real life experiences and taught us how we can apply it to our professions. The reading we had to do for the class was mandatory for all of the Child Development classes, so either way you have to read a lot. I would definitely take her class.

If you're worried about writing, take this class. She makes writing essays really manageable! I was nervous to take this class, but the way she has her schedule set up makes it so much less stressful. Plus, she explains things pretty well. Also she kinda crazy lol but that makes it so fun. She is hilarious without meaning to be. Its just enjoyable

Dr. Rhonda Seamons is a wonderful teacher who sets the expectations of the course workload right from the get-go. Over the course of the semester we worked on four papers and Seamons goes into detail of how to succeed. A small chunk of the paper is due before meeting each class day, and then easily can be put together to make the final paper.

I was nervous to take this English class as I hate writing, but it wasn't bad at all! I would totallyyy take it in person with Sister Seamons - the only homework you have is relating to the paper you are working on. She doesn't grade harshly, is funny & personable, and teaches you how to write in APA correctly... I wish I took this class sooner.

Sister Seamons was hands down probably my favorite professor this semester! Her lectures were full of life and personality and she interacted with us and let us share our experiences. Her assignments are a one page paper twice a week but they are so easy and as long as you write them you'll be fine; she does not grade hard! She wants us to learn!

Great teacher, very funny, and willing to help students

For this course you work the same routine every day. Short lecture, picture books, and talk about chapter books with your class group. You read to chapter books each week and do a short assignment about each before going to class. She's a fair grader. She enjoys reading/literature but tends to talk a lot during our picture book reading time.

Sister Seamons was fantastic! I loved taking this class from her. Highly recommend, it was a great time.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Sister Seamons. I have never, in my life, met someone so charismatic to teach. She loves her job and her students. I took CHILD232 and CHILD330 from her during the same semester, and it was incredible. Attendance is mandatory! It's most of your grade. Other than that, you will have fun with her classes.

Sister Seamons is so helpful with writing. I learned so much from her class and know APA like the back of my hand. She has you do your papers in sections which is helpful and she wants everyone to succeed.

Sister Seamons is the best professor I have had at BYUI. She is engaged, interesting, and has thoughtful lectures. You will spend lots of time finding books for this Children's Literature class, but she has an extensive list to choose from. Wonderful teacher.

I love Sister Seamons! She is so funny and really loves teaching. She will sometimes go on little tangents during the lectures but they still can apply to the topic. It's so easy to get an A. We do the tests in class and have a review right before. Sometimes she repeats stuff in her lectures but it's not enough to be a real problem.

Sister Seamons is an absolutely incredible professor and I highly recommend taking a class form her! Her lectures are engaging, funny and memorable. She cares deeply about the success of her students and is very accommodating. The course load is pretty light and I feel that she grades very fairly.

Sister Seamons is both kind and funny. If you're lucky enough to have her as a professor, note that you will be reading from the textbook some but other than that, you take notes on the lectures. Notes are for personal use and are not graded. Slight late policy and point reduction, so keep on top of homework! Her lectures are very engaging.

This class was a good class, if you have access to a lot of age groups you are set, requires a lot of observations that are not easy to do if you don't know anyone ages 0-18 at different times in semester. Other than that it is an easy class, just go to class and you'll pass.

Sister Seamons is hilarious. This was a very enjoyable class. I wish she had made more of an effort to learn our names and encourage participation from the students though.
