I really enjoyed this class, and i hate writing. Gives you topics that are relavent in todays life, so you can actually put some meaningful input into your essays. Sarcastic, but does not mind if you give it back to her.Made fun of me for being hungover:)

Super easy! just DO THE WORK, it is very easy to miss a few assignments, but your grade will suffer, there is not much work in this class, so it can be very easy, even if youre not that great of a writer! And she is not mean!

This teacher is freakin' awesome, I totally recommend her. She is quick and straight to the point- no BS. And if there is any time to BS, she's fun at it and very interesting. Makes reading fun and emphasizes the art of Enlish Literature. I hope to take her again for a W class.

Class had lots of writing but only 3 major papers the rest were 1-2 page oppinion pieces. If you don't miss many days and do the assignments a good grade is pretty easy to get.

Love this teacher! Very organized & structured classes. Don't be intimidated by her. If you show up, do the papers (which are pretty easy and she gives a ton of help) you will have no problem. She also cracks some pretty funny jokes and interesting stories. AND the stuff she makes you read is actually pretty interesting.

Pretty easy class.Four projects that are worth 100 points each that are easy.5 research papers that are easy and are worth 5 points each. The final is a take home final and is also extremely easy worth 25 points.The only bad thing about the class is class participation it's worth 25 points and you can ONLY miss 3 classes out of the semester. If you do not take Goodman you are making a mistake. Great teacher and a great person. Show up, do what she asks of you. The assignments are clear and she grades fair. I loved her.

She was great! I have never had a teacher that has inspired me as much as she did, and not even trying to! She doesn't go out of her wat to like you, or meet you, she tends to be very fond of the guys, and extra harsh to the girly girls. But as a blond, sorority girl, I couldn't help but to want her to like me because she was soooo great. Take her!

By far one of my favorite English teachers. Though a lot of people thought she was hard, she really wasn't. She keeps you in track. She is very helpful, and actually teaches you to become a better writer. You actually use the books in her class, but they are worth to buy because you can use them again in the future.

She's a good teacher, don't let the syllabus scare you. She's tough but fair. She can be really sarcastic and a little harsh at times, but only with stupid answers/questions. You'll really learn how to write better and if you do all your work WITH EFFORT you'll get a good grade and be able to feel good about it.

She's an amazing teacher! This is an argumentative class, so don't think that slacking off will do you any good. She provides assistance to those who need it. She can be sarcastic at times, but it depends on the subject matter. Pay attention! And go to class because the more effort you put in, the more better your writing will be.

I really enjoyed her class. She really got oyu thinking. I took it as a freshman and got an A on all four assigned papers. She tells you exactly what she is expected, just listen to her! The assignments are really a breeze if you do.

She is a ridiculous teacher. She has made a ton of student cry on several occasions. She grades really hard and is super critical. Likes to publicly embarrass people.

Goodman is a crystal clear teacher with a VERY sarcastic humor and approachable if you can get past the intimidation. The first time I have been kicked out of class for not having a rough draft. She is a really nice professor even though she looks pissed every time. She is very clear & direct about everything. Never ask her for a grade change, it will never happen. You just have to be prepared for class and never come late.

Rhonne Goodman is a tough teacher with specific guidelines. She comes off as a hardass but will reward you for hard work. Sarcastic personality. Helps take writing to a whole new level. 3 essays 4-6 pgs. and many in class assignments. Class never lasts as long as it is supposed to. Once you finish work, you can leave. VERY smart teacher.

Goodman is a fabulous teacher. She is very smart- and always willing to help you. Like others have said, she comes across aggressive at first, but that quickly changes. Take Goodman's class and you will want her for the rest of your RWS classes.

I had her for RWS 92A and I liked her so much that I am taking her again for RWS 100 =]. She looks like she's always made but she really isn't. I learned a lot. You do have to work for your grade though!

Goodman is an excellent RWS 200 professor. She gives you very interesting topics to write about that you can actually get really into. If you go to office hours and actually try, she's very helpful. I loved this class it made me love writing even more.

She is not mean, though she does appear to be mean. Can be intimidating, but she is always willing to help if you go to office hours. I'm not the best writer and still got an A in this class. She said that to get an A we would have to work EXTRA hard, I didn't. Make sure to really understand the essay prompts.

At the start of the semester she came off as pretty intimidating but i later learned to appreciate how she taught bc it actually caused us to think on their own a little and not just be told the EXACT rules of how to handle a prompt. Just pay attention to details, go to her office hours and do EVERYTHING the essay prompt asks and you'll do fine :)

She's a hard grader and may come off as intimidating but in the end her class is worth it. I feel my writing has improved with her class. Just pay attention to whatever she says about homework and write it down because she won't remind you. Also, as mentioned already, answer the prompt for her papers! Completely! Then you'll be fine.

Goodman is an excellent professor, she gets straight to the point of how she wants you to write essays. She is helpful and explains everything clearly. She kicks you out because it is your responsibilty to look on your calendar and be prepared. Besides she only kicked students out one time. If you want to learn then take this class.

If you can't handle constructive criticism, don't take her. She is a tough grader, but lays out everything she expects from you in her syllabus. She encourages questions, has a tutor specifically for this class who I suggest seeing, and talking to Goodman one on one is a lot more beneficial. You will learn A LOT once you get past her attitude.

I would have to say this professor has been one of my favorite here at State. She is straight to the point, no B.S. and tells you exactly what she wants from you. She realizes that this is a GE class and we have other more important classes and wants her students to pass. Highly recommended! *The assignments are actually quite useful.

easier professor than I thought. The people who failed this class are not ready for college. She splits the workload of all essays so that you never write a 5 page paper in one night. Beneficial for your future. Not your typical writing class. Lets just say NO ONE in the class failed!! We finished a month early and didnt need to come to class.

This professor is very straight forward. She comes off as a hard ass but her intentions are good. Her class is easy as long as you do the assignments. Do not blow off her 10 pt assignments & try not to miss class because it definitely effects your grade at the end. Overall enjoyed having this professor for RWS 200.

Not as hard of a class as I expected/heard it to be. She's straightforward and can come off as inconsiderate, but considering she is on the board of the WPA, she really helps the subject sink in. Essays weren't too hard and online assignments were a piece of cake. Definitely show up to class prepared or you'll be asked to leave.

Overall, a good professor. I would recommend taking her for 305. Assignments are easy as long as you follow instructions and edit. She takes points off for grammar and spelling mistakes. Fair grader. She seems tough but as long as you show up to class and do all the assignments you'll get a good grade.You will need her reader, she uses it a lot.

I had Ms. Goodman as a RWS 100 teacher for my fall semester as a freshie. She was a little intimidating at first, and yes she is strict, but overall she has GREAT STRUCTURE to her class. All the assignments and her wishes are made clear from the beginning. She has office hours during the week which were are a life saver. I recommend her highly!

She is an amazing professor who is straight to the point and a bit sarcastic but all for well intentions. All of the assignments are easy and very helpful to prepare you after graduation. This is not your typical RWS class, you will be writing documents where you analyze texts, this is a class to get you a job after graduation.

Professor Goodman will not waste her time on students who don't want a good grade. As long as you keep up with all the assignments she gives out, you will do fine! The class consists of 5 online questions of about 70-100 words, 5 Outside research assignments of about 1-1 12 pages, and 4 essays that are super easy to keep up with of 2-4 pages long!

Goodman is intimidating at first but I highly recommend taking her class! Compared to all my friends I had the easiest assignments but they were challenging enough to where my writing improved. Just do all the assignments and you'll be fine. Take advantage of office hours! Super helpful. She's hilarious when you get to know her.

TAKE HER!! She is sarcastic, really tough-love at times. Although her classes are mandatory (allowed 3 absences), the classes are short. You go in, listen for like 10 minutes and then get dismissed. She may come off as rude, but it's just harmless sarcasm. I went into her class being an awful writer and now I actually enjoy writing papers. Only 3 papers, which you basically do in class with your peers. A few simple discussion boards and short research papers. Very easy final. She is an extremely good teacher and I would take her again.

Professor Goodman is one of the best teachers i have had, very intimidating at first but you begin to really like her. I enjoyed her class so much i registered for her RWS 200 class as well. Lots of easy assignments and papers are pretty short, offers lots of help on papers. make sure to go to class only allows three free absences.

Only 4 papers and once you turn in the last one you don't have to show up any more. She tries to scare you in the beginning but she's actually super nice and likes you and grades easier if you talk to her about her dogs and go to office hours. Pretty average english class not too bad.

You can only miss 3 classes without getting points taken off, but other than that I have no complaints. I think the longest class we ever had was a half hour. Go to her office hours and she'll proofread, just don't miss DB or EJ's and you'll do fine. I got 95% on all the essays.

Can't recommend her enough. She's a bit sarcastic, which might turn some people away, but I thought it was hilarious. Go to her office hours and she will tell you exactly what you need to do to get an A on your paper. If you do this, and turn the assignments in on time and you'll be fine. Plus class ALWAYS gets out early.

chillest class all semester! i think once out of the entire semester we stayed until the end of class, but she'll usually let you out after 15-30 min. she's very clear on what she wants from you in your essays (theres 4 of them) and the other assignments are really easy and only out of 10 pts. she also has optional office hours if you need it

Literally my favorite teacher I've ever had. She will improve your writing soon much. And it's super easy to do well if you just follow her instructions. I literally got a 100% on three of my papers. I cannot recommend her enough.

I actually ended up enjoying her class bc of her clear expectations and she would always let us out super early. We have four papers no mid-term, no final. Hardest part is getting your paper exactly how she wants it.

10 Discussion Boards(75-100 words), 5 Mini-Assignments(1 page each usually), and 3 Projects. Honestly, this class is super easy. She's pretty lenient on the grading, just read the rubric to make sure you aren't making major mistakes. Always write more than the minimum requirement, you're almost guaranteed an A if you do this.

This woman does not play. I took her the Fall of 2016. Luckily I had an AP English class before hers, but make sure you do EXACTLY as she says. Don't skip class; she counts attendance. I messed up on one paper and if i had made it exactly three pages in length, i would've gotten an A instead of a A-. Just read carefully and do all the journals.

Listen, if you've taken any AP English classes in high school, and can write relativity well you'll be ok. My first paper I received a 75% because I did not follow her EXACT essay template. My next paper I got a perfect 100% score. If you go see her in office hours she will show you how to get an A. DO the 10 point home works for easy points.

100% would recommend this class! Just keep in mind:Show up to class. You receive a grade for attendance & it could make or break your grade (+ you aren't in class for that long). Pay CLOSE attention to what she wants in her essays and READ syllabus. But if u can't handle a professor who won't hold ur hand throughout the semester, just walk away...

Goodman is a solid choice. She's a hard-ass at the start but warms up to you if you show you care for the class and the papers. Also, she isn't difficult at all even though I'm not one of her top students or anything. Accessible after workshops and during her office hrs. Attendance counts. Goodman is an AWESOME professor. Had her my freshman year and decided to take her for RWS 200 as well and I got an A in both classes. She is a harder prof but she tells you EXACTLY what she is looking for. GO TO OFFICE HOURS she will proof read your essay and tell you what you need to fix before turning it in. This was an online class. I had her for RWS 200. Same thing as always: do exactly as she says. Reach out if you need help. Do EXACTLY as she says. Make sure you're not turning in HW assignments at the last minute. You'll be fine. Easy A.

Took this class to complete the Writing Requirement. Very clear criteria for all the papers. Just follow all the instructions and answer all the questions she asks for the assignments and you'll be fine. EC is offered multiple times, so boosting your grade is always an option. Very nice professor who gives lots of feedback and clarification.

There are Discussion Boards that are all very relevant and quite relatable real-world topics, all very interesting. Then there were 5 mini assignments that were also very useful like writing to a company about a complaint you had or to a newspaper. Lastly, there were the projects which were not hard at all and also pretty relevant like resume build

I took Professor Goodman during the summer and she was amazing! Since the course is accelerated there was a lot of homework but that understandable. She emails back quick and is an easy grader. Just turn in your work on time and you will pass no problem. Also, do the extra credit assignment. Highly recommend her to anyone!

Professor Goodman demonstrates what a true english professor should consist of. She is very clear about her assignments and provides very clear criteria for grading. She doesn't waste time and is always straight to the point. She is very knowledgable on the subject, and if taken seriously, can make any willing individual an acceptional writer.

People seem to have mixed reviews, but I loved professor Goodman. She tells you exactly what she expects from you and grades based on that. She is very blunt, which I always took to be funny but some people did think she was a little rude so if being called out isn't something you can handle maybe find another prof. Easy assignments!

Although I found Professor Goodman to be somewhat obnoxious and condescending, I think she is a really good teacher. I thought her major assignments were relevant to things we will need in the real world. She is a hard grader, but clearly outlines exactly what she wants so it isn't hard to get an A if you follow her directions to a tee.
