American Gov't isn't his cup of tea, but the class didn't turn out that bad. I don't believe he will ever teach it again, but if he does...give it a shot. The guy is pretty funny.

I really like Dr. Attar. He really cares whether or not his students learn. He is so intelligent and likes to engage conversations with the students. He has some funny comments and stories to go along as well. I needed some clarification on an assignment and he was extremely helpful. I would recommend him.

I think he is a phenomenal instructor. One cannot let his first impression held a strong value over his overall opinion of the professor. The accent gives me no problem and I just think that above all things, his efforts are outstanding and his concerns for students is surprising. Attar is a respectable and reasonable instructor. One of the best instructors I?ve had at Texas A&M University. He represents A&M the way professors and instructors should.

I loved when useful information was written on the board, and the fact that Dr. Attar wanted student input. He also seems extremely knowledeable about the course content.

Dr. Attar Consistently gave our class opportunities to speak our minds; offer up our own thoughts solutions in both our courses contents:about the actual class.He seems to genuinely appreciate & enjoy our input;I very much respect that.It made it easier to care about the class that way.

The content was incredibly important- up till this class, I was dangerously ingnorant of current events. This class me taught me important things about the world today. This class also made sure to discuss issues from every continent-finally, a non-Eurocentric class.

Dr.Attar may come off a little harsh at first but I found him to be a very funny and insightful man who always ready to answer questions and help alot.The Nye book was awsome!

All the lectures wer well organized, the power points added visual interests, and Dr. Attar was always willing to clarify things when needed. This was an excellent class. I don't have much ecperience in college level, so I don't think I have the ecperience to say.

Professor helps

The way the material was shown and explained was very clear and good. The instructor seemed intrested in how students took in the information and explanations needed or given always clarified it for the students.

I wish that we had this course long time ago in order to help us writing our papsers/thesis for other classes. Although I got alot out of this class until now,I feel bad because I could not use these method in other classes due to graduation. I suggest to make this class mandatory for all international affairs students.

Dr. Attar has exteme command of this course,and try his very best to teach us this new approach. The problem is I never had any method course (POL 360 is not req'd). Prof.Attar started from scractch and we laerned alot. I suggest to have this course during the early years of college (probably 2nd year is good).

I definitely recommend Dr Attar, I was your student long time ago. Now, I am working in Qatar. POL 331 (Political economy of the Middle East) helped me alot in that area.

Prof. Attar is a very good listner. He lets you talk and express yourself; doen't matter if you agree or disagree with him. He loves students who engage him in class discussion. He really cares about his students. He is the best professor when you need help outside class.Some days better than others, but in general, he is a great professor!!!

As an honor student, I do believe that Dr. Attar was really good. At the beginning, I was really scared and worried. He was not happy with us at all. Later, he revealed himself as a very nice and kind person. His knowledge was beyond any doubt.he was always encouraging.He values students questions regardless.I recommend him to anybody.

I was Dr. Attar student 2 years ago. My self confidence was very shaky..I was kind of thinking not high of myu self. Dr. Attar made me believe in myself. The most encouraging professor. Professor Attar is very good at answering emails.Got a question==He got an answer.

I believe essay questions would be better than multiple Choice questions. I am not good at answering MC. I understand the material but cannot make a good grade.

He is a brilliant, intelligent man, and his lectures are very interesting, but he does not follow the book, and tests were not as he explained them. Though it's meant to help, describing how intelligent he was in school does not seem appropriate after handing back a class-full of failed test grades. We seem to be the only class with this problem.

The class is definitely not easy by any means. Tests aren't easy, but if you go to class and pay attention to his lectures, the answers are there. Posts his notes and useful links on his website.

Hardest class I've ever taken in my college life.

He's a nice guy, knows his stuff, but if you AREN'T a political Sci major, I really don't recommend this class. His tests are pretty hard, go to class everyday take good notes, read the book oh and the ten page paper at the end of the semester is ridiculous. Not a fan.

A truly good prof. He wants you to understand how to apply principles rather than recite the textbook. His thought-provoking teaching methods kept the class very interesting. He knows his stuff & class was fun. Overall, the class was a good experience. Highly recommend.

Stand up guy. Students could learn alot from him. I found his class to be very informative. The tests were an excellent measure of the knowledge I obtained in his lecutre. I did well.

In class he pushes students. In office hours he encourages students. learnes alot and earned! a good grade. Take him!!!!!

Good professor, new at Miami but he definitely needs to improve some things. He gets confused when he uses PPT in his lectures. Tests can be hard and you really need to do the readings, but he is absolutely not though on grading. VERY helpful in office hours and in class and he is extremely friendly. I reccomend him!

I had him for Global governance, make sure to attend all classes! a "B" is achievable. An "A" is hard/possible

I would just like to say that I really enjoyed taking class with you last semester and this semester. The classes were very interesting and I loved the fact we were bale to actively participate in them, be it discussion or otherwise. There was never a dull moment in class.

Dr. Attar's class was very interesting. At the beginning of the smester, he was a bit unorganized, hut it was understandable since he is new to Miami. He brings lots of enthusiasm to the topics disussed, and I can tell he is very knowledgeable about world politics and international law. I like his class a lot, and I am planning to take him again.

I loved having him as a professor and would definitely take his courses in the future. The only suggestion would be to slow down on some sections(especially in power point form) because I felt we were rushing and didn't comprehend the material.

Dr. Attar is my HERO!

At first I didn't really like this class but as the semester went along, I started to enjoy it. Very easy grader. Class is mandatory and he is very strict about that. He has a thick accent but he still is easy to understand. As long as you go to class and read the material, you should do fine on the exams.

Dr. Attar is clearly very knowledgeable on the subject matter. He did a good job of using examples to help students understand concepts. There were times when more structure or direction during the lectures would have been helpful.

Dr. Attar is very insightful and very different, he teaches a different breed of foreign politics that's fascinating yet challenging. Go to his office hours and have a conversation with him, you'll learn a lot.

I was pretty so-so about POL271. His lectures are okay, and you have to read the book for the tests. But one time I got the dates of the exam mixed up (found out the day of!!) and he was totally understanding and let me retake it whenever I could!! Prof Attar is the best. Just show up to class and get the practice questions for the exam.

Dr. Attar is a great professor! I took all his course and enjoyed all of them. Pity that he left Miami!
