he's very nice. going to class was a huge help because he gives lots of examples and explanations. he puts his slide presentations on blackboard for you.

Good Professor. Makes an attempt to learn names despite class size. Follows book & book follows slides (available on Bb). Attempts to incorporate current examples into curriculum. To do well, come to class and follow the slides. He also HIGHLY awards participation, so don't hesitate to say something or bring something relevant in to share.

Great lectures, nice guy, entertaining, I got a lower grade than expected...participation points in this class will hurt you your grade if you are shy. Basically, if he doesn't know your name you won't get the full participation credit...so good luck fighting amoungst the teacher's pets for your participation points.

Ric is a very nice guy but I found the lectures were very boring. The tests are right from the book so if you read the chapters and study the power points you should do fine. His grading scale sucks, you need a 94 to get an A. I would reccomend this prof.

Prof Sweeney is great! He is funny, keeps your mind on the class, and you come out knowing a lot more than you thought you would. Rick is a great prof who is very interesting in marketing. His lectures are somewhat long, but he adds different interesting personal stories to segway into the material. The exams are based on the outlines and with a fair amount of studying you will get a A. Great prof, highly recommended class.

my 3rd class with sweeney and my 3rd A. I attend only the exam days and the days we have to present out projects. great teacher for the college slacker and exams are very straightforward and not very tough. This professor is a must take if you are a marketing major or need an easy A. Trust me, I put forth 0 effort and came out with a 95 percent

If Sweeney teaches a class I take it. He is an amazing professor. Actually cares and wants you to succeed. Understands you have a life and is okay with moving exams and presentations. Classes are exam and presentation driven, but easy if you pay attention and show up.

I love professor Sweeny. I have his class at 8am and attendance is not mandatory but I still love to come. We are supposed to have class T TH F but he makes friday days "online" days and we just have to turn in our homework or tests by then. Tests aren't too hard, but you still learn. I reccomend him 100%

Ric is a nice, funny guy. All tests were online and the material is simple. Very easy class but there is participation points. Lectures are not worth going to but if you want all of your points go sit on facebook in class and don't pay attention. You'll still get an A.

Wonderful teacher! Always knew what to say and made the class interesting. Some of the things on the online tests were not expressed in detail in class. READ THE TEXTBOOK. If you do this, you WILL get an A in the course. Don't cheat on the exams with a group of students, you're only hurting yourself. Besides, this material is easy!

I love Sweeney. He's relaxed and chill but also very interesting to watch. Sat in the front row of the lecture whenever I went to class, and was never bored. He gives you almost all information for tests and quizzes but going to class definitely helps. The class is chill but also very informative.

He is great! Advertising & Society is an interesting class but does not at all require attendance. Get the knowledge outlines and use them while taking the test, all of the answers are on there. No final exam, only 3 midterms. Easy A, great guy, very interesting and knowledgeable.

Class is very easy. Clicker points are needed but can be used at home if you get the app, or have a friend bring your clicker to class. Tests are rather hard but there are a ton of grades in Blackboard. Homework is easy and 100% are easy to get each time. Take him!

If you want an easy A, take this professor. All exams online, lectures were shortened, and he was a fairly good professor overall -- interacted well with students even in a large lecture. HOWEVER, I never used the book, HW wasn't helpful, & I didn't learn a lot. Easy professor, but if you want to learn something, you'll have to put in extra time

Very funny guy! He requires us to have a clicker/or the other software. It shows that we were there for class. His tests are 45 minutes on the computer!He cancels class every time there is a test so we can take it at the time we are supposed to meet in case our day is busy! BEST PROF EVER. He's funny, relatable, cool, and interesting. Tests are online and very easy if you take notes in class. He shows you LOTS of ads. No book, just a clicker that you'll take attendance with every day. Offers a little extra credit as well.

Best professor ever! All you do is watch ads, class is very fun and he makes it interesting. The tests take at most 15 minutes for me! Make sure to stay on top of everything because there isn't a whole lot of room if you mess up. Definitely would recommend!

Ric is undoubtably my favorite professor at UC. His lectures could be on the driest of topics yet you somehow find yourself engaged in the conversation. 5-question multiple choice quizzes are given every week on the reading, sometimes with extra credit. Start early on the semester-long projects, they account for a majority of the grade.

Can be harsh at times, but is overall a great professor if you do what your are supposed to and enjoy the class (:

went to class syllabus week and that was it. You only have 6 quick homework assignments that are opinion-based, have to participate in 2 quick marketing studies, and have 4 tests. tests are completely online and all answers can be found on google. very easy but didn't learn anything

Easy class and clear syllabus. There are 4 online test and 6 short hmk discussions. I went to almost all the lectures except towards the end, and really didnt miss much. He does get upset and rightfully so when students dont show up; I would be pissed if I was him. If nothing changes since everything is online, easy class and interesting. Cool guy.

He is a very nice man. Keeps lectures interesting with visuals. Usually get out of class early. People stopped showing up because attendance wasn't taken and notes are online. Tests are online and there are few easy discussion board throughout the semester. Overall amazing guy and friendly to be around. I would really recommend him and this class!!

Ric Sweeney is an awesome professor! He keeps his lectures interesting by including recent events in his class. He is very engaging in the class room too. You do not have to attend his class to get an A, but you will learn a lot going!

The class was really just one project but Ric guided us. He's a cool guy, but it'll piss him off if you skip on anyone's presentation day.

His class is not difficult and he is a funny and energetic guy. He has online activities at the end of most classes. Classes usually end early and he cancels a couple classes too. The online homework is usually lengthy but not difficult and the tests are made by McGraw-Hill.

Fantastic teacher. You have every reason to get an A in the course so long as you stay on top of your assignments and can collaborate in a group fairly well. He wants everybody to do well, so reach out to him for guidance if needed.

Ric was a very fun professor and made lectures very interesting! My class was about 500 students, but he makes the class feel like 50 at most with interactive segments. The downside is you do most of your learning outside of class and the exams are extremely difficult. If I had the chance of taking it online- I honestly would!

this class was just changed for when I took it fall 2018. it used to be all take home tests and very easy A, but the marketing department had him change it, so we took exams online. they were very hard as they would cover 3 chapters at a time but really focus on one concept or model you may have missed when reading the chapters. don't go to class.

Material was fairly interesting, Ric did a fantastic job of keeping lectures short/interactive. The 5 tests are pretty hard, but if you complete the knowledge outlines, practice quizzes, and PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS, you'll do great! Weekly homework assignments are lengthy but required and you have to participate in 2 research studies.

He isn't the most engaging professor and he doesn't focus a lot on content, more on discussion. He's a really nice guy and will make the class easy for you. Little confusing sometimes on the grading but you have to try not to get an A or B. Tests aren't tough if you do a little studying before

Ric is a great guy and an awesome professor. It's easy to get an A as long as you do all the homework and read the book. I was in an honors section so we only had two exams over 8-10 chapters each. I didn't take the first exam seriously bc I thought it would be easy and got a 60%. You only need a 90% to get an A but you still need to work for it.

A good amount of online homework. In class he will explain definitions and what you should read about in the homework. He posts more notes online. His tests were harder than expected, but study the online notes and book and you'll be OK.

You can take notes on the lectures, but I suggest just reading the textbook and studying the vocab words. There are in-class activities and pop-quizzes that he gives attendance points for, so if you never show up to class, you won't be able to get an A or B. Pretty easy material, but it can get tricky so knowing definitions is the biggest thing.

Ric is a very nice man and makes his lectures interesting and includes topics that are current. He will sometimes joke around with the students during class discussions. There are lots of tests but if you study the material on the online textbooks, you will pass. There are also many chances to raise your grade through homeworks & class activities.

Good at presenting material, has weekly homework, but it is relatively easy. Will get put into groups, so take class w/ friends, or be open to making friends. Will work on in class stuff w/ groups. Easy. Chill.

Just study the notes that on the McGraw Hill book, do the practice quizzes, and adaptive questions and you should be fine getting an A in the class. Also, go to class because he has surprise pop quizzes and sign-in sheets always in class so do not skip. Lastly, he just a professor really repeating the stuff off of McGraw Hill.

Ric is a great guy and made his criteria for the class work very clear. His lectures made everything so much easier and always has the class engaged. In-class activities are fun and allow every single one of the students to work with their groups in a creative way. He's super understanding as well!

Ric was awesome and is by far one of my favorite professors. I wish I would have gotten to finish the year in class because he made marketing super easy to understand and really helped me realize that marketing is the career path that I want. He also has an awesome career path and is someone I look up to for my future!

Ric is my favorite professor. His class was all online but he made his lecture videos fun and his live classes were optional, definitely not needed to pass. Watch his lecture videos (only 10-30 minutes long each and 1-2 a week). He makes everything easy to understand and the after lecture quizzes are also very easy and only 5 questions. Take notes!

Sweeney is so nice and is fairly relaxed. All the assignments are graded based on completion, except the tests which are pretty easy. The weekly assignments can be time consuming but it's worth the easy A and is not that bad at all. I highly recommend taking his class! He is very knowledgable and willing to help!

Love Sweeney, but Services Marketing class was soooo much work for an elective. Semester-long group project, 3 tests, weekly discussion boards, and multiple Mcgraw Hill assignments each week. Course content is fairly easy just a lot of work. Make sure you get a good group and listen to feedback on project assignments!

I had Professor Sweeneys class online because of COVID for my freshman year as a marketing major so this is an online-only review. He was a very nice teacher and the class was generally pretty easy! Basically, just read the material and take some notes and the tests were not too challenging at all. A very chill and fun class overall.

He is fun to listen to in class, he will definitely keep your attention. There is generally 2 homework assignments due each week, each will take about an hour. As long as you get your assignments in on time and study, this class should be an easy A. He loves to help students figure out what they want to do, and is always happy meet with them.

This class is super easy! You have weekly assignments and readings that can sometimes take a while but as long as you finish them you get a 100%. Attendance isn't recorded but there is sometimes in-class activities for points. Sweeney is super chill but the downside is the class is super repetitive with the homework so kind of boring.

As long as you do your McGraw Hill Connect quizzes which he makes us do before every lecture and make sure to pay a little attention to his lecture, you will pass this class with an easy A. Attendance was not mandatory because of the internet issues he had this 2022 fall semester, but he offered extra points for attendance and group involvement.

Prof. Sweeney is intelligent and a very well-respected figure in marketing. That being said, his lectures were pretty dull. The only reason I went to class was so I wouldn't miss the in-class assignment points. The Connect assignments are tedious and can take forever, but the content isn't very difficult. Easy class, but it can be a lot of work.

Very nice guy. His tests are extremely easy and remote. He makes class engaging and fun. Lectures are easy to understand, and the homework really gets you to learn the material. The only negative about the homework is that it takes around 30min-1hour each day to do it. I will say it helps understand the course better and get good grades on tests.

Ric expects 2-4 short chapters per week to be read (2~ hours of reading) and an assignment for each chapter. I recommend going to class to get the in-person quiz points (free points essentially). He has 6 remote tests which require little studying. I'm not a MKTG major so I found the class to be relatively boring but he is a good professor overall

Easy class, the material for the most part was self-explanatory but some of the readings were required to gain knowledge, Attendance is by no means mandatory all the Tests are online aswell as the in-class activities which can be done from the dorm. the few lectures i did go to he really pushed the AMA. seemed like a good guy.

Assignments can be tedious but they are crazy easy. Exams aren't bad at all and can be taken remotely, I see that is everyones biggest complaint and I am not sure why. I have gotten close to 100 on every exam and I haven't studied for one. Just show up to the lectures and do the homework, so much of this class is common sense.

Professor Sweeney's MKGT2080 class is a bit of a mixed bag. The workload can be tedious at times, but with a little effort, you'll do just fine. The lectures are informative, and Unstuck AI proved to be a helpful study tool alongside the free textbook. As long as you stay on top of things, this class is a breeze.

Great class with a mixture of reading the online textbook and having lectures. This class was nice to have every Tue/Th morning. Do well on the tests and do every assignment and getting an A in this class will be no problem at all.

Attendance is mandatory in the sense of having in class assignments pretty much every class however they are pretty easy. The homework can get a bit repetitive however it isn't that difficult just a bit time consuming sometimes. I highly enjoyed having him as a professor. He likes to play a song before the start of every class so that's fun.
