So far, so great
Very nice teacher!He is responsible!
Very nice teacher!!!
never met a professor with such enthusiasm for the subject. Knows his stuff, teaches from the heart. highly recommend!
Highly recommend :) He is so nice and friendly. The best teacher I meet in de anza
I never thought a math professor could be like him. You can tell he loves the subject. I like how he plays youtube songs before class and on the breaks. English is not my first language but he still treats me respectfully. Very recommended.
Ricardo is an awesome teacher! I have never met a teacher especially math with such passion for the subject as he does everyday he comes in with a smile in his face ready to teach his students will help you whenever u need with a smile and will explain things with ease, tests range from medium to hard, but gives you points if you show some work!
BEST PROFESSOR EVER. I kid you not that this Professor was born to teach. You will LOVE his class. Not only do you learn a lot, but you enjoy his class. He's always there for his students. It's really rare to find professors like him. One of a kind. You see the passion in him every class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! take him for your math class
he is so nice! best math teacher in De Anza, you should take him if you can
Simply the best math teacher ever, no words cannot describe his awesomeness and passion for math, you will see why if you take him!
Best Math teacher i have ever had. If you know nothing about math, he can teach you. Very easy to ask questions, and an easy class to pass. Homework is out of the textbook. Tests are easy. Highly reccomend.
definitely not your typical math professor. Down to earth, easygoing, shows you that he cares. Take him for your math class!
BEST MATH TEACHER EVER. He is so committed to his students and shows how passionate he is to teach. Everything is out of the textbook and recommended not to miss a day, which isn't hard because you'll enjoy it. About 4 quizzes, 3 Test and a final, some homework but not overbearing. Some extra credit but not much. Take his class if you can.
People like him are a rare breed. He's got many talents, chemistry, physics, biology, economics. He helps you in whatever you need, period. De Anza lucked out because the other teachers suck
Dr. Delgado helped me understand not only math but that I can overcome anything. He's supportive, smiles all the time, and really makes us feel like we can understand. Thumbs up all the way!
Dr. Delgado is great. Professional, dedicated, helping. Always at school and never turned us away. A teacher should care, and my other teachers at De Anza seem like they don't. Thanks to Dr. Delgado for helping me smile again at learning maths.
Hard class but chill professor. Works with students, not dry. Enthusiasm and care. Entertaining. Has saturday sessions before tests. Who does that?
Good class. He brings all his knowledge into the class. Every now and then he'll show a video that has nothing to do with the class. But, it lifts our spirits, makes us feel better after a long day. Born to teach. Inspires. Plain and simple.
Its nice to know Deanza has this sort of prof. He helps manage the math tutoring center, helps students that aren't in his class. I watched as he helped physics, math 10, prealg, Calc, precalc, chemistry. even helped someone with essay writing. Never refuses a student in need is what I saw. Helped me and a few inclass with crazy limits. Good man.
Awesome help with my math 11. Keep it up!
He is a very good, down to earth professor. Treats all students the same and insisted on learning everyone's name and how to pronounce. Rare to find a math professor at DA who cares that much. Sat study sessions; also goes into math culture and history. I never know how much other cultures have discovered math. I always smiled in class. :)
His class was fun. I happened to take the first class that he teaches. He's younger than other teachers and cool. generous with grades. He's also the boss at Math tutorial center. I crashed there many times and he's willing to help me no matter how busy he was.
He's the best teacher I've ever had. Math gives me major anxiety and I absolutely hate it. But his passion for it and the support he gives you is inspirational. He never ever talks down to anyone, and always treats them with respect and uplifts them. I wish he taught all of my classes because my math teacher this quarter sucks compared to him..
One of the best math teachers I have ever taken by far. His lectures are incredibly clear and if you attend class and take notes, you will pass because he gives you all of the information you need! He is incredibly supportive and will make the time to help you whenever you need it. I would definitely take him again!
Professor Delgado loves teaching. You can see it in how he talks about math, in how he talks to us, always listening to everybody and making sure everyone feels welcome. He is a gift to society, to us, and I have never felt so comfortable in a math class. So far, this is my favorite class in my schedule.
Awesome professor
It is truly a pleasure to take one of Delgado's classes. He is down to earth, genuine, inspires students to succeed, encouraging, and an all around great guy. He is so nice and is willing to help you with anything and will take the time to teach you until you understand a particular concept. I would most definitely take him again!
He was an amazing professor! He grades fair and helps out so much. He has Saturday morning sessions if you need it and responds quickly by email. Compared to the other math teachers who taught math 114, it seemed like he was the only one who really taught. Even though he was a little harder, he wanted to prepare us for the harder math classes.
He really likes to be there! Some math teachers I have had in the past at DA don't seem like they want to teach or be there. Delgado smiles all time! You can see he likes math a lot, likes to teach us and never lets us down. It helps that he's energetic!
Professor Delgado has changed my life. He is the best math prof on campus, or probably any other. He cares so much for his students and their success. Incredibly patient, and great at teaching. I went from believing i was an idiot who could never do math, to believing in myself and suddenly understanding everything and excelling in math. Take him!
Delgado was the best teacher I have ever had. Not only does he make the math material that much easier to understand but he would be good teaching any course because he cares about each student individually. He wants you to succeed and does everything possible to help you along the way. I recommend taking your math courses with him!He is amazing )
Delgado is a really nice teacher. He clearly cares about teaching math, and even if he's not the greatest math teacher ever, he's still extremely passionate about it and tries to help. During lectures, he likes to tell jokes occasionally and just be a nice guy. He's as cool as a math professor can get (meaning he's kind of cheesy, but it's great).
So far, really good. You can tell he really wants to help. His teaching is the best I have seen so far as a college student. Treats people nicely and knows his stuff. I wish the class was longer!
Delgado is most definitely passionate about math, he is probably one of the best teachers I've had overall. He may not be the best at TEACHING specifically, but as an overall teacher, definitely one of the better ones. He tries to get the students connected and tries to make sure we understand and makes sure his students are his first priority.
I've seriously never seen a professor like Dr. Delgado. He is meticulous with his lessons, makes absolutely sure he addresses the concepts, and is an expert at his delivery. Assigns hw everyday, which means as a student, I have to do hw everyday to keep up, but he is clearly enjoying what he's doing. Definitely a memorable professor.
Must have had one of the worst days ever. Delgado always cheers me up. His teaching makes sense to me. appreciates students and smiles a lot, makes me want to be there. Fair grading, although homework is not required. Dedicated professor.
Extremely down to earth, fun guy! He loves helping his students and wants to make sure everyone is there to learn. He highly appreciates those who email him beforehand if they can't make it to class. The class isn't the easiest because he wants to prepare us for higher math classes. Don't miss class because there are group quizes and entrance cards
I've had so many bad math teacher at De Anza. They don't care and make us feel bad. Dr Delgado is different. He makes me feel comfortable to approach him and works with me to help me. He even helped me with college stuffs outside math class. I wish he was teaching 1D next quarter! My friends and I will all miss him.
Stopped Dr. Delgado on the way to his car. Helped me! What a teacher, explained things. I've been referred to their office hours, first time a prof helped me no matter what. De Anza's best math professor, and lots of us wish he was teaching 1D. We will protest!
This man is the best math professor I've ever had. His lectures are both informative and entertaining, making Math 1C fun. If you desire a teacher that grades well, lectures well, and is willing to help you out when you need it, take his class. Good luck getting a seat though...
Think I learned more from class in M1C class than I have ever learned in any college class. Inspired me to read more into the book, to research more about series, and it was very nice watching him teach so happily about everything. I never understood vectors until he explained. I will miss my classmates since we had lot of group stuffs.
Dr. Delgado is a great math instructor. He is one of the best math instructors I have taken at DA. HW not required, but the group and solo quizzes were based on it. He was always enthusiastic in lecture as well as in his office hours. 3 exams, one final, and a group and solo quiz on wednesday and friday of every week respectively. Wish he taught 1D
Just finished all my finals and I have to give credit to Mr. Delgado. He inspires, cares, lectures with a passion, and gives us chances to work together and help each other figure out the math. Calculus is already complicated, but he makes vectors and series fun. Will I ever use this stuff in my job? No. However, Mr. Delgado makes it fun. Thumbs up
I wish Mr. Delgado was my 1D teacher. My teacher is already seeming like he doesn't care much. Mr. Delgado is a great teacher and puts students first. Some of my classmates from his class are in my class and we all talk about the good times in Mr. Delgado's class.
Rare teacher. Met with us on a Saturday before the test. We can all see he truly likes to be our teacher. Not cold, inviting and he makes sure everyone feels welcome. My other math teachers at De Anza were cold, mean, and did not help. One even told me that I should change my major because I was failing math. I'm not failing now.
Professor Delgado is one of the best Math teachers I have ever had. He made my realize y potential in the subject again and sparked more of my interest in it. His tests can be tough, but his lectures are easy to follow and test questions are just like the homework. He also helps run the tutoring center, so he is always willing to help you!
Delgado is a teacher who looks like he really cares. He's fun, casual, and open to questions and help if you need it. He doesn't assign homework, and his tests aren't too bad. He's very reasonable, and wants to see you succeed.
Good character and that translates to good professor. Mr. Delgado is approachable because he smiles a lot. He learned our names quickly and was always willing to help. Because of him, I changed my major to math. I hope he will teach higher classes at De Anza; his love for math is infectious and inspirational. He even helped me with econ homework!
The most amazing professor who is eager to teach you math. He understands that we all learn differently and finds a way to help you. Everything is straight forward and practice. Quizzes are the same as the homework so make sure you do your homework. Make sure you communicate with him and don't miss classes he knows your name by the first week.
Best professor at De Anza so far in my time here. Everybody is right that he really wants to teach us and help me understand. Saturday optional meetings, weekly quizzes, and generally a good feeling in the class. Its the only class I have that I really look forward going to and I never liked math before. Wish he could teach Math 10.
Impressed about his teaching style. Makes time go by fast and we do in class practice as groups. Hard tests but meets with us Saturdays when he can. Patience, happiness, and dedication to the class. Hope he teaches more classes soon.
Helpful, understanding professor. I have no idea why he teaches at DA and not Berkeley but I am sure glad he's here. Positive and smiling, made me feel like he wanted to teach, instead of just his job. Highly recommend.
stops at nothing to help us. I liked his saturday school sessions for extra help. Worked hard for my B and he was very good at explaining . Group work once a week. One thing he did in class is related the concepts to daily life stuffs. I will miss his class!
love this class, good professor. I find myself laughing at some things he says in class after it happen. He was talking about black holes today and business. Ive never heard any prof use the word watershed. You know what? Dr. Delgado finds a way to make it fun. He's a good guy, always helping everybody. Enjoys math a lot smiles about solving .
Never met a teacher like this. Very dedicated to the class and success. De Anza is quarter system so everything is fast in every class and it his class, it helps to read before class, do hw before class, go to office hour and Saturday session. So far best math class at De Anza. Only complaint is the expensive text.
Welcomes you to class, he literally stands at the door to greet every student! Doesn't have crazy rules, like a real person, works with you. Caring about students, smiles, connects with us. I thought math teachers were terse and boring. Dr. Delgado helped me shatter the stereotypes. Thumbs up to his mom, who he always thanks in class.
Really into this class, he makes it fun. Just a good math teacher.
I like how he is very approachable and is willing to work with me. It feels like he genuinely cares for the students as people and doesn't have a god complex. He should teach all the math classes at DA. With the quarter coming to an end I feel like this has been the most honest learning experience out of all the classes at DA. Positive prof!
I should have found him earlier. He is really busy but still made time for me even though I'm not in his class. His students are lucky.
Open classmate quizzes, no notes or book on Wednesdays, solo quizzes Fridays, closed everything. Fair grader and exams are harder but only on stuff covered. HW is online, not many many problems but just enough. He's the boss in the tutoring center also. Good person, born to teach I think. Wish he could teach Math 10.
At times hard topics but Delgado makes it better. He helps a lot outside of class and answers his email and he seems like a happy person. He just like to helps people I think. Treats all the students with respect.
Good teacher. Read the book before class.
Ricardo helped me and my group members on a linear algebra project. He isn't even our teacher! We heard about him from some of our friends at Berkeley. I think he teaches a class over there or gave lectures or something. Anyway, made things clearer than our instructor. Why oh why can't you teach linear algebra Ricardo?!?!
Homework is online. Individual quizzes, group quizzes. Very kind teacher, approachable. He answers his emails, welcomes you to office hours. Good teacher in class, takes questions. If you don't prepare for class, you will not pass!
NBT. Natural born teacher is all I have to say. I used to think that math was not for me. I felt like crying most times after math class. But it's different in Dr. Delgado's class because he motivates. I changed my math habits based on his rants in class about preparing, recopying notes, asking questions. Doing the assignments before class helps
This teacher is the difference between me hating math forever and not. He makes it fun and not so complicated. When he gets going, you can see how happy and excited he is to share with us. My class feels like we all are one. Make sure you do examples from the text.
Helped me a lot with my mathitude (that's math attitude, as he would put it). I've already transferred but when I think of most impacting teacher at DA, I would say Dr. Delgado 100%.
Real professor! We can see he teaches his heart out. Loves the job, smiles all the time. Fast, but what do you expect, it's De Anza! To get A's, do some problems before you come to math class. Duh. Then, see him in office hour. Double duh. Then, see him on the weekend in Saturday school. Book was expensive, but he uses it.
helped me with second order linear setups that I had to discretize. Thank you!!! Wish you could teach 2B!
what a good class and teacher. I'm nervouse about the next class because I know it won't be the same style. He is approachable and not makes me feel stupid. Would recommend and take for all my classes if he taught them.
gonna miss this class. Already anxious about stats since Mr. Delgado is not teaching that next quarter. I know how to study better now. This teacher worked with me every day for just a few minutes and he taught me so much about studying.
Want to start by saying I failed his class. Even so, I want to tell everybody to take his class. I now understand that I failed since I never did HW, never cracked the book open before class. I started doing that too late. My advice: work those examples from book before class and do more problems for practice from book. He's a good teacher.
Happy new year Delgado! Thank you for being the best professor I have ever taken a class from! You taught my lin alg/ diff eq class at Berkeley and you should know that because of you, I changed my major to math. Now, I work in applied sciences at Du Pont. You came up at my holiday party. You also taught one of the interns calculus. :)
Refreshing professor. Always welcoming, answers questions about Math 1A. My Math 1A teacher was not good, so actually, Dr. Delgado helps me with past questions. Imagine, a professor who helps with prerequisites happily! I even brought my girlfriend to his office hour, and he helped her with Math 10.
I enjoy coming to his class! I never took math at DA every day but I like it better. Calculus seemed much harder before but Dr. Delgado explains concepts really well. Catch him away from class and he doesn't mind explaining, even if it's Math 1A material. He doesn't mind reviewing, but make sure you do the homework because his quizzes are based on
caring professor who comes to work on Saturday! I also went to his evening review sessions and I know he doesnt get paid for that. Happy all the time and loves math. Plus, he can ACTUALLY teach. Brilliant man and amazing person. I wish he could teach Math 1C, Math 1D, Math 2A, Math 2B, basically, all my classes!
He's a jack of all trades, helps with any subject you need help in! We laugh after class about how fun it is to sit in there and watch him literally explode with math teaching. He admits that he's "so excited to teach us today." I think those little things keep us coming back!
good learning experience as a whole. He talks math history and normal history, and how math is in everything. Entertaining! Most important, he is always there for you. He laughs to himself and his energy is refreshing.
caring, helpful teacher. Cell phones put away, he hates that. Cheery, fun, looks like he actually likes to teach and help, unlike the other teachers I have had to survive. Good class.
Teaches like it's art., very clear style and entertaining to watch. Going to miss his class. Hold Saturday office hours. Does everything he can to help us.
If he is teaching the math class you need: TAKE HIM. That is all I have to say.
rare professor. Smiling every day, knows your name, he should have trainings for other not-caring professors at deanza. My other teachers didn't seem to care much. If you look around the class, nobody dropped, still as full as on the first day. My last math class, there were only ten left for final test. As they said already, take him.
Great Teacher (: would definitley take him again, i really enjoyed this class And thats coming from someone echo hates Math.
Took his math class earlier in my time at DA. Simply put, amazing professor. Stops at nothing to help you. Has Saturday study sessions, and evening math sessions before. SO dedicated to the students. Communicates. I took math classes after Dr. Delgado's, not the same. Enjoy his class because the quarter goes by fast and you'll miss it.
By far, the best math professor I've ever had the pleasure of being instructed by. I can't praise him enough. Just meet him and you'll know. Plus, he's a really lenient grader.
Gonna miss Dr. Delgado's class. Extremely engaging, personable, and respectful. Keeps it real, doesn't bs you, and is caring at the same time. Who donates so much time to their students? Dr. Delgado does.
Delgado is the professor for you if you're terrible at math. He's passionate about math and he really knows how to teach it. He has in class group quizzes and those quizzes are similar to his tests. He grades the test super easily. He deducts like 0.01% if you make a dumb mistake, rather than ruining your entire grade. He's also really hilarious.
Not the dry, usual DA teacher that talks to the board and doesn't have any people skills. He understands the struggles students face. Class is fun and everybody around me is laughing and seems to be having a good time. First class I rarely see anyone on their phones. Take Dr. Delgado's class, it will save your math life, as it did mine.
You need to take his classes. My calculus class is the highlight of my day. I got to my other classes and cringe when those teachers teach. He is approachable, and it seems he really likes his job. Smiles a lot, and knows everyone's name. Attendance is always to capacity. I have even seen people from other classes.
MUST TAKE! Took him during fall & no other math teacher at DA compares to him. He's so nice, great with explaining, quizzes & tests were easy. No cheat sheets were allowed, but with his teaching you won't need it! & I ALWAYS needed cheat sheets. He genuinely cares about his students, I srsly wished all teachers were like him. Hope to have him again
Loved him so much I had to leave a second review! He's so lenient & rarely deducts points as long as he can follow your logic. He's super funny, keeps class interesting. Doesn't teach at a slow or fast pace, & doesn't believe in any stupid questions. Posts study guides, quiz keys. Basically, the only class you wouldn't want to be cancelled.
great class. Teacher is prepared, clear, and amazing. We will all truly miss his class. You can tell he knows math deeply but he can explain the math too. It's hard to find a "human math teacher." My De Anza math teachers in the past have made me feel like I can't do math. Actually, I can. Professor Ricardo has helped me with that. Take his class.
Pros: Up-best, positive attitude, loves math, treats me like a person (doesn't make me feel stupid), fair treatment to all (no favorites). When taking tests, monitors accurately, instead of just sitting at a computer checking facebook (like my last math teacher). Cons: class seems too short. Maybe extending to 1 hour 10 minutes?
Pros: Hands down the best professor I've ever had in my entire school years. His lectures are amazing and humorous, he's there for you outside the class if you reach out for help. Also, he tries to communicate with students. Cons: Just finished the final & the Final was definitely not easy, and had lots of problems in it. Had time pressure.. ugh..
Amazing teacher, great lessons. I like the group quizzes because I got to talk and make friends. Tests are ok, they come from homework. Final was longer but most questions came conceptually from our exams. If you have a chance to take his class, take it. It will change your mind about your math skills. I thought I couldn't do math.
He gives out homework but he doesn't grade them, but strongly recommend doing the homework because it helps when you take the quiz and test. Grades are weird though, 90-94% is A-, 95% is A. Only reason I have a B+ is because I didn't attend class the last week and didn't do the last homework. Community quizzes where you can ask anyone for answers.
MUST TAKE HIM. His lectures are very fun and he taught how to apply Calculus to real life. His tests and quizzes are quite hard and his final are super long (13 questions in 2hr), no cheatsheet but put in effort and you get A+. He had 2 quiz each week, 1 you can work with friends and 1 is solo. He made Math more meaningful and worth studying.
Down to earth. Dr. Delgado is a true teacher. Emails when you are absent but because he cares. Worries. Rather than robot, he is a human being who wants to help. He assigns homework and doesn't grade but exams and quizzes are based on the homework and lessons. Good attitude, never makes you feel stupid, math is for everyone.
So far the best math professor I have ever had. Clear, cares, seems like he loves the job. Office hours, Saturday time for us.
Everyone say my teacher is the best. Mr. Ricardo is good, really good. Always treats everyone nice, no matter if they know a lot or not. Take him. He really cares.
One of the best Math professors at De Anza. His lectures are super clear and he makes sure that everyone understands the material. Homework is optional. There are quizzes every week but quizzes and tests are directly from the homework. Overall I would def take this professor again!
He was the best math professor I have ever had. He is also the cutest, seriously distracting how cute he is:) Still learned a lot, I 'm finally not scared of math. Wish I could have taken him for every math class, he set the bar really high.
Look forward to class every day because he isn't the usual teacher. It feels comfortable in the classroom. Treats everyone like a person, is a real person not like a math teacher robot. Take his class if you want a true experience.
Rare teacher. Smiles all the time, knows my name. Wants to help! When I go to get help at office hours, it is packed. People on the floor! I brought my girlfriend to get help from him also and he didn't mind.
Ever had a bad math teacher? Delgado is not one of them. He cares, simply. I've taken classes at universities and community colleges, and hands down this guy is a true teacher. Take his class. Don't waste your money on another professor who won't even know you name.
Delgado is an enthusiastic teacher who cares about you learning the material than the actual answer. I read a problem wrong on a test but used the right method and got all the points. Try to pre-read if you have free time, he allows nearly everyone to add onto his class because many people drop due to calculus being rigorous in general.
Very good professor!!! The final was fair, not impossible. Enjoyed so much coming to professors class. I will miss his excited way of explaining things. We all want to sign a petition so that he can teach Math 1C!!!
Basically never showed up to class that was Monday through Friday. One week he showed up only 2 days, the rest of the class week was cancelled. Didn't really need the book, he doesn't collect homework. Test aren't that hard, just take the notes and pay attention.
Gave a lot of outside projects that made it feel like I was learning more than just factoring. I enjoyed his positive attitude! Hope to take his class again. Tests were based on homework and his Saturday sessions were good for me. Take his class!
A great personality is what makes him a terrific instructor. He explains his material clearly and efficiently. He is very flexible and cares for his students as he's dedicated to help each and every single one of his students not only succeed in his class but outside of his class as well. A real gem.
He really shows that he cares about the success of the student. He offers extra time on weekends if you are struggling and review sessions before a test or quiz. I really loved his class, it's hard not to have respect for him as a professor and person.
After leaving DA, I went on to Berkeley. Funny that some of the math professors there remember him as a lecturer. They called him a wunderkinde. I wanted to affirm that any DA student looking for a compassionate and inspirational instructor should take him. His methods are better suited for the current graduating class. He keeps it relevant.
Very good maths prof. I can't speak very good english but Mr. ricardo makes me feel welcome to ask questions. He never makes fun of my accent or treats me lower because I am international student. Best choice I made for math at De Anza College. It is an early class. My only complain is I wish the class time was more time.
He is one of the best professors I've had at De Anza. He truly cares about his students and he cares about you passing. I highly recommend taking him if you get the chance.
I agree. I know everybody says "best professor ever." This man supports us. He guides and inspires. I saw him helping some students with chemistry. What math prof does that?
Hao teacher! Must take! Easy Exam! Don't wait!
good class! if he teaches a class you need, register! It's not predictable which class he will teach.
I can't believe he's still teaching! took his abstract algebra class years ago. I remember companies used to interrupt lecture to try and talk to him, he'd tell them to leave (pg version). Great teacher, cares for students. Rare gem.
It is true he is a good teacher, but he is far from being perfect. He is just trying to do his best like anyone who tries to do the right thing.
Last class today. Such a good time in Math 1B, sad thats it. Hope to take another class from him soon!
best teacher ever. Lectures are super good, tests are pretty easy except for the final. Guys, take him. p.s. His smile uplifts your day!
His class is a must cop, just like supreme X Louis Vuitton.
The class was my best class so far at de anza. Finally I feel like all the money I have to pay as an international student is worth it!!!! Need him to teach 1C, 1D, 2A, 2B and 22.
He is an amazing professor. He is the absolute best Math instructor I have ever had! He was very nice and he really wants you to learn. He is willing to help you in and out of class. He explains everything thoroughly. I had a personal tragedy in my family during finals, and he let me make it up later, and was very empathetic. Best professor ever!:)
Teaches the class as if a university, which I liked. Agree with other reviews. One thing I would say is ask for help, he will help! Teach 2A please!
entertaining prof to watch. High energy!
his class is so exciting! His explanations are clear vivid. I saw him helping a student with physics too.
just graduated from Cal. Take his class, a gem of cupertino
agree with everyone about his teaching style, helps anyone no matter. He treats you like we are in university and its good because now at ucla my professors are exactly like him. Even my physics ta was his student!
Best math professor I've ever had. His structure is the same with every math level. Every Wednesday is a group quiz and a regular quiz every Friday. He makes you enjoy math for once and helps you not only understand it but apply it to real life. In Math42 he would often show the relevance to what we were learning by linking it to Math 1A and 1B.
One of the best math teachers I've ever had and probably the best at De Anza. He cares so much about his students and preparing them for future challenges. I you ever get the chance take him, even if you don't need the class. He's an inspiration for anyone who wants to continue their career in STEM.
Excellent teacher. Doesn't grade homework but attendance is mandatory. Available outside of class and really cares about helping students. He makes it really hard to fail. 10/10
BEST. PROFESSOR. EVER. Seriously. As long as you show up for class and do the homework, you will pass. He is very lenient with answers, even on tests, as long as you show your work how you got to where you are. You can tell math is his passion and it is reflected in every one of his classes. On top of that he cares deeply about his students.
he is the best teacher I had in de anza. Cares about you, lectures are amazing, and so cool. He brought this giant chain when we were learning chain rule concepts and it was cool. Quizzes and exams are easy if you do homework. Final wasn't that easy but still doable. Take his class, because he is the best, and study hard until the end.
helps everybody no matter with what! I had flat tire in the parking lot and he was walking by. My friends and I didn't know how to change tire and not only did he do it for us he also taught us how. He didn't make me feel stupid, just like when he's in the class. His class is interesting and clear, no favorties like last teacher.
good teacher, cares so much. When they ask you who your best teachers were, this guy is top three.
It's only day 1 and I'm getting the chills because I know it's going to be a quarter to remember. The vibes coming off this guy are something else.
Genuine prof. Friday lectured about the squeeze theorem. "Imagine being able to look into the crazyness without actually having to get there." This guy gets it.
Cancelled class twice in the 2nd week of the quarter and again today, in the 4th week. Questionable work ethic and commitment as our teacher when he says he enjoys it so much.
He seems cool, but he also cancels class a lot, which can be not so cool. But hey, the bright side is getting extra time to do other stuff, but I'm also crossing my fingers I won't be behind when I have to take Math 1B.
He is a really nice and understanding teacher. Show your works on tests and quizzes, how you get there, you will get partial credit for i. Don't give it blank.
So far so good in the class. Clear teacher, nice to work with. He canceled class for illness glad he's not a robot. Highly recommended! Some of us are hoping he teaches math 42
fair tests, sad he won't teach 42. When the teacher is happy about math, it helps
One of the best professors at De Anza. He really cares about his students. I was always bad at math but after taking his class i've gotten A+ in all my other math classes. He does not move on until most students understand the material. He is very caring and wants everyone to succeed . Gives extra credit opportunities.
Individual work, optional hw, test makes up most of your grade. Amazing guy, wish I could take him again. This quarter he canceled a couple classes but oh well. Caring and inspirational lecturer, would highly recommend. Also has many office hours. All of class is spent on lectures, and in Calc-A, there were 4 tests and one final.
You would never find a guy who takes care of every student like him. He really puts his mind into the lecture (many new outside-textbook exercises). The only thing you have to be careful is his test. Some questions will require your deep understanding for what've been taught. Anyway, do all his homework, then you'll be fine. : )
He's a really good teacher. Very accessible outside of class, and super helpful.
He is to unpredictable. Misses a lot of class. No HW due. He said we would have a quiz every Friday but that was only one week. Thats fine but quizzes could have been used as a review and practice on the way he tests and grades. No reviews for test. No multiple choose so he gives partial credit. His test does not reflect problems in class and hw.
Nicest math professor I've had. He is super cool and nice, and the notes are extremely helpful. The most important thing is to do the homework because he doesn't check. Do the homework, go to office hours, ask questions. He was always there to help.
hope he teach 42
He's a really cool guy. I enjoyed his class and I feel he really cares about his students. On the other hand, he did miss a number of classes and we only had one quiz in the beginning of the quarter instead of every week. Kind of wish he gave us more quizzes to practice before each exams. Nonetheless, good teacher. I recommend him for precalc41.
I like his teaching style and he's a cool guy. If you want to get a good grade, read the sections before you go through it in class and do the homework. Also, review the homework before each exams because they are based off the homework. He did however miss a few classes and didn't assign us many quizzes like he said he would. Still,a solid choice
He's the best professor. He truly cares for his students and wants them to succeed. His tests are kind of hard but he's a fair grader.
He's so amazing! He's super enthusiastic about what he does so it makes going to math more fun! Tests are not that bad and he's the nicest professor I've had! I wish he taught more math classes
Nice Professor, He cancels class a lot, but he makes it up in teaching the subject. he also doesn't waist time when he's in class teaching. He'll give you homework that isn't due the next class but you should practice it if you're struggling. Take all the notes you can possibly take because that will help you on the tests and quizes.
Solid lecturer really into the math! Flu season hit hard this quarter and I noticed lots of people were away from school. He's friendly, office friendly, and in my top three math teachers, ever!
Working in my field now (lab sciences) . I took Dr. Delgado's class maybe four years ago. Good teacher, motivator. Many teachers after him, and I had good ones, but his jumping on the desk antics were never forgotten. If you take his class, do not take it for granted. He makes sure you are ok. Everyday.
I took professor Delgado two quarters in a row for math 1a and 1b. It was my second time taking 1A at de anza, the first time I recieved a D+ but the second time I took it with Professor delgado and recieved an A+. Best math professor at de anza, do the homework, go to tutoring center, go to office hours, you should be able to get an A
Well, what can i say except BEST math professor ever. Took his class for 2 quarter straight. Such a caring and fun teacher, he always make his class as interesting as possible. After taking the whole calculus series, I can say that he is the best math professor at De Anza, no doubt.
If you're looking to have a lot of days off, he is definitely your kind of teacher because he cancels class at least once a week. BUT since it's a math class, it's not good. He's nice, but doesn't seem too responsible when it comes to his job as a teacher.
He was the most amazing teacher I've ever had. He truly cares for his students and wants them to succeed. His tests only consist of a few questions and he rarely assigns homework. You have weekly quizzes but for one of them he allows you to walk around and talk to students. I would highly recommend this teacher for anyone who struggles with math.
Disappointed. It was nice having so many days off at first but then it got ridiculous when assignments were still due and he didn't respond to my email in time to give me enough time to do the work. Having things explained through email was hard to understand but since he wasn't at school, that's all I got. He took a long time to grade too.
My second class with him and he's one of the best at DA, can tell he likes being there. Keep it up Mr. D!
Easy to follow lectures, I am from China, my cousin took his class at UC Berkeley. He explains well and hope I can take Math 1B. Office hour good
Great teacher, Cares about the students, not too much hw, lectures are easy to follow
Professor Delgado really cares about his students. His lectures are very clear and engaging. His tests/quizzes are short and straightforward as long as you do all the hw and take good notes from the lectures. He also gives his students the opportunity to earn extra credit throughout the quarter.
best teacher I never meet. Do NOT take his class because I can have a chance to join it.
From the start I always enjoyed being in Delgado's class, as someone who isn't that good at math, Delgado inspired me to do my best at attempting to understand. But one day, he got into an accident and his car rolled over three times, and still managed to show up to class the next day. If that isn't dedication I don't know what is. 10/5.
Honestly loved professor Delgado ! Favorite ! I forgot what math if it was 212 or 210 but either way ! I loved the way he explained Math like i had no trouble keeping up ! He is really caring and wont let you fail ! He seems to have humor in him ! Always has a smile on his face which motivated me to learn in his class everyday !
Professor okay. Nice but feel like might need more teaching.
Delgado will be missed! Lots of my classmates were talking that we want him as our Math 10 teacher. He is fair and does not make you feel stupid
Professor Delgado is an amazing teacher who really cares about his students. As long as you attend class regularly, do your homework and study for the exams you will do well.
Lectures that aren't actually boring. Makes you understand the subject rather than just teaching how to do it. Highly recommend, almost made me skip taking a summer math class just so I could take my next math class with him again. Quizzes and exams are only things graded and are short and based off of actual homework questions. Just a cool guy.
Amazing professor. Very clear and concise with his lessons and makes sure every single person understands. Only con is that he cancels class almost every week, 14 days missing out of the whole quarter. Math is a language that needs to be taught everyday and w/o that it feels like I'm getting scammed out of the tuition I pay for his class.
Taking his class is one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life until now. His teaching style is wonderful. Easily understanding lectures. Perfect notes, highlights. Fair amount of homework, wont take you too much time. Reasonable tests. Just do the homework and you will be fine. Put him in the first place when you register the classes.
Easy pass. His teaching is fine, but a big thing is all the classes he missed. He cancelled almost half the classes this quarter. I don't even know if he got through everything he was supposed to teach us. I don't want to fail my next math class because of this.
Prof. Delgado is the reason I enjoy math. I've always struggled, but the way he taught made it easy to understand. His notes are great so if you have to miss class, it's easy to get yourself caught up. Not strict on checking HW, but do it since he bases his tests/quizzes off of them. Overall a great teacher who cares about helping you pass.
What can I really say about him? He does care about each student and make sure you fully understand the concept. He teaches so well that if you show up in his class and pay attention, everything else will be pretty easy. I have taken many different Professors from math 41 and he is by far the best one. I wish he could teach 1D, 2A,2B as well.
Professor Delgado is an amazing instructor, he cares about each students grade and performance. quiz is reasonable, do examples from class and text book and you'll be fine on quiz. No sweat in his class, you'll like him. like most people do!
Its hard to get a seat in Professor Delgados class
Reading reviews and hearing from friends that he cancels a lot was a plus until experiencing it first hand. It sucks coming all the way to school for days just sitting there for him NOT to show up. I could have slept in! Straight up, dude. Get it together! It's only the 4th week of school and he's missed like 10 days! I wonder if he's coming back.
Cancelled weeks worth of classes and then stopped emailing that class is cancelled. So everyone in the class would show up be he would not be there. Not even staff knows what happened to him. So now we have a new teacher to replace delgado and she is super hard. Not a good choice. I see him on the schedule for next quarter but who knows if he will.
He was a caring teacher. Class time was less nervous than other math class. I liked that he added anyone. Patient, pleasant, use to meet with us Saturdays. I never had a teacher after that did that and i helped the 9-5 workers. I hope that he is still teaching because I hope my kids have a professor like that
