Real straight professor that doesn't put you to sleep. The guy knows what he's talking about and uses crazy ass stores to make a point. He also HATES text messaging! so don't let him catch you texting. Def. recommend him. A+++

Honestly one of the best english teachers i've ever had. Would recommend him to anyone. Class goes by so fast, because we're basically just having a big discussion the whole time. He's tha best A+++

He is really really really awesome!!! I have had a really really really fun time. His essays are challenging but you learn a lot from them. It would be nice to do a couple more to get practice, but they were really good. We definitely used the textbooks and we even got to watch a movie. He is really nice and funny.

LOVED HIM! Knows a lot about his stuff and is very passionate about English. He tells lots of personal stories and is amazing person all around. Essays are easy and graded fairly.

Very good English teacher, however he deducts points for things that are not even apart of the assignment. When you ask about it he gives you 2 or 3 points back and expects you to be happy w/ a few extra pointd and still no explanation of why you lost in the first place. Other than that he very English teacher.

Awesome teacher! This man makes you think the way a professor in college really should! His essays are a bit challenging but he pushes you to think outside of the norm in your writing so it stands out. His stories are hilarious and he's laid back, he treats everyone like students in college, not like kids in high school.

A very good professor. He is, however, much more difficult than any other teacher I've had at BC, but not because he's bad at teaching or because he's not helpful, but because he's very serious about his work. He'll make a writer out of you, or he'll piss you off.
Awesome professor! Felt like a real college class unlike so many at BC. He manages to make lectures interesting discussions with students and you can tell he really respects students and is genuinely interested on what you have to say.Best professor at BC!
he is a laid back cool teacher, but don't let that fool you, he expects a lot from his students, specially after the first paper. He is really hard to please but he makes you try out your very best. I loved his class, although i would never forgive him for giving me a B, that's why no chili pepper for you professor!
Great professor! One of the ones that will actually teach you University level quality! Prepares you for the "real world" of writing. After taking him in 1101& 1102, my writing actually improved dramatically well!
If you are willing to read the assigned reading (which are generally short) and WANT to engage in a REAL University like discussion with him then TAKE HIM! He is an amazing professor with a passion for his field and does not BS with you. He gives it to you real & will put you out if you are not on point. Guaranteed to change your perception on ENC
The worst teacher in the school! Reads "bad" papers in front of class and points at who wrote it. Only criticizes in public. NO direction on how to write. Very vague explanations on everything. Horrible grading. Not a single person in class had a "decent" paper. Forget what he tells you and write HIS ideas to pass with a C-. DROP while you can!!
HE IS UNCLEAR AND HIS DISCUSSIONS IN CLASS ARE BORING I FELL ASLEEP EVERY TIME HE WASNT THAT BAD OF A TEACHER BUT DONT TAKE HIM UNLESS YOU HAVE NO CHOICE !!!!
One of the greatest teachers Broward College has to offer with their English Department. He ENGAGES the student, and prepares you for LIFE. Taking him again for the advance courses, also great personality and a sense of humor!
If you're looking for an easy A, this class is not for you. Four essays with the last being a re-write. We didn't use the books much so save. Buy if you have to. Quizzes are sparse and unpredictable. If you follow his directions and show that you want to learn and improve your writing, he takes into consideration. A grade possible w/ a ton of work.
Had to switch out of his class because I could not follow his teaching style at all. He loves to hear himself talk and throws so many random things at you at once that its hard to follow. He is a nice guy but I could not grasp what he was trying to say 95% of the time.

I simply hate english, but this professor made it fun. The best english teacher i have ever had. Take him, you won't regret it. Read the stories, put in the essay what he talks in class and you will be fine. He is really fair grading papers.
He is not clear! He metaphors about something and then asks you to do something else. There was only one time which he actually talked about the topic. He takes forever to grade the papers. He loves to talk, even if is not related to the topic. He always says "Do you guys know where I am going with this?" NOBODY KNOWS!
He's a great professor. My only problem with him is that he cancels class too much so when something is due, you're kind of lost but he usually extends the due date. He's a great guy and very smart.
When the professor sees that the students are struggling with an assignment, he will extend the due date. He is nice that way. My only real complaint is that he takes forever to grade your discussions. By the end of the course less than half of the discussions and assignments were graded, leaving me clueless as to what grade I was going to get.
He takes a really long time to grade essays, but he does give you pretty good feedback. H doesn't give tests, he just gives essays. But, I took half the class online. You have to pay attention! He is interesting, but he does get off topic sometimes.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. AWFUL AT PUTTING IN GRADES AND DOES NOT ANSWER EMAILS. I am still waiting for my first essay submission to be graded. The class ends in 2 days.... He tells you he will have your grades in within a few days and it has been 2 months now. I remind him through email and in class and still no graded paper.

I took his summer blended class. He is a great professor, cares about the students. unlike some he is approachable for questioning. When you put in the work you receive the grade. Use available help and turn essays on time then you pass! 50% is online.
I took the 8-Week Blended ENC1101 class with Prof. Vazquez and loved it! The course was comprised of three essays and MyLabs modules. He gives great feedback on assignments, offered deadline extensions within reason, and often stayed after class to discuss papers with students. Great professor, I'd happily take another course with him.
Once you show him you are a hard worker, he will work with you. I was blessed to have him . He made me enjoy writing also , feedback was amazing. I had him for blended and fast paced.
Great professor. English 1 was easy, so i was worried about English 2 being harder, but he made everything clear and quite easy for me. You will be reading and breaking down poems and stories, but he's there to help when you need it. All around good guy.
This professor is very sarcastic and doesn't like repeating himself. His grading criteria is horrible and isn't effective. He does not give any feedback and is tough grader. He gave me the same grade for 5 assignments straight! He takes long to submit grades and when he does, it seems like it was done in a rush when you look at the timings.
He was pretty good. I took him for ENC 1101 and as long as you do the mylabs and the essays, you will be completely fine. He gives enough time for the essays. He told us we didn't have to show up for the class anymore at like the middle of the semester. This was not a difficult class.
I took him for 1101 and now taking him for 1102 I couldn't have thought of taking other professor than him his amazing. If you go up to him after class or if he has time, HE WILL GO OVER YOUR PAPER WITH YOU, and he will help you fix it and resubmit it for the grade. you will learn how to write with him
I took an online class from him and sometime directions weren't clear. If you would email him, he would respond with sarcasm or answer your question with another question. He is a very tough grader and does not grade work on time. D2L closed out before all of the grades were entered into the grade book. Also feed back provided isn't very clear.
Professor Vazquez is a great caring person. If there is something unclear and help is needed communicate with him and he would take the time to help. Complete MyLab. Submit your essays as early as posible so there would be time for him to grade and give his feedback. Also, submit your essays to brainfuse or go to the writing lab for help .
Professor Vazquez is a good professor but he never answers or even checks his email throughout the whole duration of the class session. His grading method is outrageous, and poor because he grades papers at the last minute. He is never satisfied with anything. He is easily distracted. My recommendation is to be cautious taking his class.
Professor Vazquez is a great carrying profesional full of kindness. He will take the time to explain what he is expecting his students to do, how and where to find support and resources to do his assignments. Professor Vazquez cares for his students success.
I took this as an online course. This professor gives you his feedback on assignments very LATE, and does not explain things clearly at all. The syllabus is a disaster- there are missing discussion topics and he forgets to open threads. There is a disconnect when trying to communicate. It was an awful experience.
Took this as a session 2 class fall of 2018. Amazing profesor. Always explained throughly what he expected. Gave everyone a chance to fix their mistakes. Doesnt ramble on, straight to the point. Would recommend this professor 100%
Took his class for ENC1101, now ENC1102 and I love the way he explains. Took both of them fast track. But he makes it so interesting... Remember: Don't Wing it! You will get a good grade if you Do and Read your work!! He replies emails, and yes, he could be late at grading, but he would not be as harsh on you for being a little late.
I took this class in the second session and I swear we had class like 6 times, other times he just cancelled to let us work on our essays. He is pretty thorough with his grading, real lenient on late papers, and all around a cool guy. If you dont procrastinate on the MyLabsPlus, youll get an EASY A.
I took his class in session 2. Always canceling the classes. If you are a good writer and dont want to go to classes you should take this class. All we did was writing 2 essays and MyLabsPlus.
I took this class for session 2 blended. We ended up only going to class once a week. If you are a good writer, this is the class for you for sure. There are only 2 essays and MyLabsPlus. I got an 88% on my first essay, a 92% on my second & a 95% on MyLabsPlus (based on actual scores). He's a great professor. I recommend for ENC1101 only!!
Repeatedly, this prof. removed and canceled assignments after they were completed and submitted. so much work for no credit or no explanation. Its last day of the course and still only 2 assignments have been graded out of 10. Has very high expectations of your writing but offers little to no feedback.
I took this professor for ENC1102. He was an average professor, not the best I've ever had and not the worst. He wasn't a particularly harsh grader but he also didn't provide feedback until the end of the course. I asked him for feedback on my papers and he said to wait until it's graded. I got my first grade on the day the last paper was due.

This is the most unreasonable human being you will encounter in college. Instructions not clear. no feedback on essays and like everyone already said, doesn't grade anything until the end of the course. Probably rushing to add all the grades before the semester ends, giving everyone the same score on all the essays. DONT TAKE HIM!
Professor Vazquez was incredibly disorganized. Grades were always late, and feedback was minimal. I felt like he didn't put any effort into the class and didn't explain things well at all. Google was more of a professor to me this semester than Prof Vazquez.
I had Professor Vazquez this semester (spring) for ENC1102 and the class was good. He did not say much throughout the semester but the instructions were pretty straight forward. 4 essays all focusing on a working thesis. In my experience the class was easy and I would recommend it if you are looking for a easy/ straight forward enc1102 class.
Terrible teacher. Doesn't show up to Zoom class and expects everyone to keep up with him. Disorganized and a disappointment of a teacher
Mr. Vazquez ENC1102 class was simple.. It was a solid class, not too hard but not super easy either. I didn't party that some of the due dates weren't on the calendar. You had to look at the syllabus to see when something was due. That was a first for me. He takes a while to put in grades and to provide feedback. But all in all, he is decent.
Do not take this professor. You will end up failing if you do not look at the syllabus and he grades super harsh.
I will never take this professor again, I took ENC 1102 with him, he cancelled almost all our classes 2 min before the class. I did not get any grades until the last day at night and the next day the class was closed. He says he is flexible with the assignments but then he grades with F without any feedback.
He was fair and he always left feedback. Get prepared for discussions and responses.
Professor is alright. There is 3 papers in total you're going to have to write. the topic for the paper in my opinion were a little confusing. but he will go over the topic more in depth in class. He also extends the due date if he is behind on grading the pervious paper.
Took him for ENC1101 and 1102, both online. If you really dont care about learning how to write papers and want easy credits, well this is it. Beware he does not grade your work on time, it'll be 2-3 or more weeks before he will grade your work, maybe the end of course before he grades. But he usually gives an -A grade for submitting something.

This professor is not bad, but just be careful about the syllabus it can be updated without you knowing because no updates are sent to pulse and course schedule, only the essays are on there.
Was very delayed with grading though he reminded people as it stated in the syllabus that it's subject to change. Just follow the syllabus and you'll be okay. I ended off not knowing my grade though until the class was over a few weeks later. Great Professor but needs to grade on time instead of at the end of the semester when closed.
The reason why I gave him a 4 is because he takes FOREVER to grade. He just started grading our discussion posts from the beginning of the semester. He is not a tough grader and understand that we are not professional writers. He has 2 essays one as a midterm and one as a final.
i don't know what my grade is because he only put in less than half of the grades before the class closed. The assignments he did grade had some feedback but it was given after the final paper of that unit was already submitted so there was no benefit to know what i should've changed if the final assignment was already completed.
Nothing is clear and organized but he is a fun teacher during class and is passionate. had no clue what my grade was until the semester was 1 day from being over. thinks everything is plagiarism. syllabus required us to do 7 discussions but there are 15 in the grade book??? and everything is a 0??? very confusing
The class is easy if you're good at writing do not expect much contact from the professor. The professor is very unorganized, doesn't respond to emails, and takes forever to grade. There are #3 papers for your grade.
I loved his class, but DO NOT TAKE ONLINE CLASS because he never answers email even as a face to face student he took forever. His class is pretty easy he does give extra credit essays if you want to do that. Pretty easy on grading but grades do take a long time. Definitely would take again though.

Grading took a while but he did give good feedback when he did respond. Gives extra credit if you like writing essays I definitely recommend doing that. I loved his class and would take again.
He is a tough grader, does not reply to emails, assume you're using AI without any evidence, he will flunk you with no questions asked " because he feels like you're using AI" which is very unfair, especially when you did the work and even went to tutoring for help. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS! I've never gotten a C in any of my classes before.
Good professor. There was only about 6-7 assignments during the class, but extra credit was available. He is a very understanding professor and will not hesitate to accommodate you if you ask. Only downside is he grades pretty slow, does not respond to emails, and he frequently canceled class.
He talks a lot, but rarely mentions English, and never explains how to do the essays correctly.
Lectures were very insightful and took time in class to help understand what you need for success. Never answered emails, cancelled 1/2 classes almost every week, and his feedback for rough drafts was extremely delayed. I didn't get feedback on my last one because the lesson for the essay was pushed so far back to the very last few days of class.
Super slow at grading, didn't know my final grade until the very last day of semester. Feedback on the final essay rough draft was very limited and vague, I ended up getting a lower grade on my final draft. If you have any questions, never email him, you won't get a response. Ask him in class and he will give you a good answer. Lectures were good.
