Go to all the lectures! They are enjoyable, and if you go to lectures you really won't need to do readings. Discussions are always respectful, interesting, and beneficial. Holland grades based on understanding of topic, not institutional things like APA, word counts, and fancy vocab. Wants students to actually learn, not just pass.

Dr. Holland is an amazing professor and he makes it very easy to get a good grade if you are willing to put in effort. His lectures are perfectly clear and concise, he's got a funny personality, and he's very helpful if you ever have any questions. I highly recommend Dr. Holland for PHI103, I'm sure he's also amazing in any other courses.

Honestly, Holland was mid. He made his class easy for his students and I can tell he cares about the content, however, he's a little rude. I didn't feel quite comfortable asking questions or participating in class because he made students feel stupid if they aren't 100% right. He's funny and light hearted, but not enjoyable

I'm a big fan of Rich. You can tell when someone loves their job and he does. He really cares about his students and wants them to do well. He is a great guy. Also very smart like my brain hurt everyday but in a good way. If you go to class you'll get a good grade.

You can tell that he knows a lot about what he is teaching, and all of the lectures were well-prepared and thought-provoking. For the assignments, he made sure that all of the students were beyond prepared and usually didn't assign homework. Attendance was mandatory, and it can be easy to fall behind if you miss a day or two.

He was a great professor I liked the class but it was a bit confusing at times. You can tell he is very passionate about what he does and sometimes it kind of comes off as loud or opinionated but I still think he is a great professor. The class was relatively east but you have to go to class and pay attention and he is very strict on being in class

Dr. Holland was an amazing professor for this PHI-103. He is very passionate about what he teaches, and that makes it easier for students to engage with the material. Because of how well he taught it, I became interested in philosophy and picked up a minor in it. He makes his assignments very easy to get good grades on, as long as you go to class.

AMAZING PROFESSOR! Absolutely loved Dr. Holland. He is very clear on what he expects and he made it very easy to succeed and learn so much. I learned more in his class than in any of my other classes and I always looked forward to it. The note guides that he gives are very helpful and all assignments/quizzes are easy if you do what he asks.

Dr. Holland is an amazing professor. This class is incredibly easy if you show up to every class and follow the simple instructions. He makes it as easy as possible to pass this class for students who put in the effort. The only complaint I've ever had about this class is the lecture room set up, which isn't his fault, it just feels really packed.

If you follow exactly what he says in class you will get a good grade. Do not try and be creative or branch out into your own understanding of things in this class. He thinks his way is the only way. Write the papers based of exactly what he says. Take lots of hand written notes.

Professor Holland was a great guy. Took time to make sure anyone's questions were answered. Gave clear descriptions of what he wanted on assignments. Teaches in ways younger students understand. Gives an index card that you can use during the quiz with any info you put on it. Lectures usually last 1-1.5 hrs. Only class I actually tried to show up.

If I didn't have mono I would've had an A in this class, all you need to do is show up to class and follow the note guide and you'll get an A. The note guides are the most helpful things ever for a person with adhd!

Very loud, will get headaches if up front. He is very nice and it's obvious he cares for his students, but he gets VERY political and inserts his own opinions into the coursework. He preaches a lot. Dreaded going cause it was nonstop lecture for the whole class. Other reviews glaze him like crazy- probably because they agree with his opinions. Mid.

I loved this professor! He doesn't give much homework, and when he does it's easy. If he gives out “essays” they are more-so guided worksheets. He is lecture heavy and goes about an hour and fifteen, but he does a good job at keeping the lectures engaging. He respects his students and treats us as adults. Would definitely take his class again!

Very annoying class, very lecture heavy. Be prepared to stay on one sentence in a slide for 10 minutes because he got a sudden inspiration to tell the exact same sentence in 5 different ways because we as college students can't understand a basic sentence I guess. Shows clear bias towards his personal views and bashes other worldviews in class.
