one of the best psci profs i've ever had
both of the courses i had him for were excellent, great teacher.
Marxists myths have been exploded so long ago, in theory and practice. Wake up.
delightful teacher!
His lectures were uninspiring, but he's a lovable person
He's really funny and ready to help students! He tells it like it is, he's real

Has very nice hair!!

Marxism is intellectually bankrupt. He needs to read Menger, Mises, and Hayek.
I want tp bear his children
I agree, bearing his children would be marvelous!!

Rants way too much, doesn't back up his opinions. Annoying.
It's Marxist Theory, dumb asses. And he teaches it well.
endearing, however i don't like his lecturing style
His teaching style is very laid back. Very understanding.
The gentleman knows what he speaks of, open your mind to him - critically.
Marxism may be dead, but his lectures almost make you wish it weren't!!!
Funny and knowledgable, but horrible lecturing style-I didn't really learn much.
Hilarious how he points you out if you're late for lectures!
Why can't all of the profs be like him He should show Woolstencroft how to teach
A great guy.. looks like a 70's **** star! Very intersting in Marxist Theory Cl
wicked sence of humor but lectures not very clear, he goes off on tangents
funny, great hair its really sexy. Amazing professor
Smart, but Marxism is passe, come on now...
Rants endlessly, trapped in Marxist rhetoric.
Fascinating lectures give a fresh perspective on the world. Cool hair.
i'm fairly sure he's a communist. not bad, though.

That man is a great prof. Best I've ever had!
Completely wrong, but super nice. Will give you extensions for months on end!
Meh...
awesome awesome awesome!!!
so funny, interesting and overall, a cool prof.
He's an amazing speaker, and is incredibly smart
Pretty boring most of the time. It was one point for a whole hour.
Good speaker, Fair marker, Big commie, but avoids proselytizing.

he was fun! and I had the sexiest T.A. I've never loved a tutorial more!
Great guy
The best professor I had ever had. Excellent lecturer, extremely helpful and sincere. Fantastic course that presents political issues from multiple perspectives without even implying which one is right or wrong.
Hands down the best prof in the department. Cares immensly for students; willing to help. Also, gives many perspectives. His teaching will add more dimensions to your thinking: not everything is black and white in his class.
If there is one professor you could have, this is the one you want. An amazing speaker!
coolest prof ever....nuff said.
He's an amazing lecturer. He sucks you right in. He talks a lot about ancient Greek stuff, but its good. He presents everything in an unbiased way.
There is no doubt: best PSCI prof at this university. Bring popcorn, and enjoy while this man instills knowledge in you!
He is the best lecturer at Waterloo by far. He is amazing to talk to, easy to understand, and he marks very reasonably.
He's such a politician- seems so smooth on the outside (look at the hair) but i wonder... he seems to think he's pretty great. Interesting course though, i learned a lot.
Too cool, made me want to stay at waterloo, made me want to show up
Give this man a medal. And then another, and then yet another.
outstanding
a fantastic prof with passion and enthusiasm for teaching and the subject matter.
THE introductury PSCI class to take at Waterloo! Very well-rounded course! Outstanding prof!
Best course (highest mark too). Very interesting and most importantly, marks fair and alot easier than the (damn) TA's.
One of the best profs! Amazing lecturer. Made me want to continue on in political science. The friendliest prof in the department.
One of the best Profs I've ever had.

This guy is awesome. His class is also really interesting and he throws in funny jokes every once in a while that lighten up the material.
Makes political philosophy somewhat interesting and funny. Adds a few well placed jokes in lectures from time to time to keep class interested. Easy going prof, one of my favourites!
Classes well planned and discussions are interesting. There is no lack of political comedy. Any class with this professer is bound to be a great one!
Excellent prof with a real interest in his students success. The only reason (beyond Kapur) for entering into UW's psci department.
Great guy. Greatest, is when he broke is micro-phone because it wasn't working. Always laugh at least once. One problem, he says "Understanf the Implications" atleast 5 times each class, aka I put it in my essay for him 5 times too, just for jokes.
Good lecturer/speaker but doesn't seem to care much about his students in this introductory course. Don't recommend taking this course unless you have too. If you are really interested, don't pay $500, read it off of wikipedia.
Excellent Prof. A++++ Highly recommend. Good course lecture material (I actually learned something!). I thought he marked a little too hard on the final... I'm a third year ARTS student and it ended up being one of my lowest marks!
By far among the best lecturers at the university. Manages to keep students awake, teaches very relevant stuff, and is funny. Also very friendly and approchable.
This was 2nd political science class I took. It was so boring I barely went to class and I never skip. He marked hard on final,ta knew nothing, tutorial was a waste of time. He rambles on about a lot of nothing, don't expect to actually learn anything you need for exam/paper in class.
Great professor, but material was just mega-boring.
a funny prof, has a great sense of humour his lectures are fun but dont expect to learn much.. easy marker.. always says understand the implications of that haha
Boring, and the guy's a dutch commie. Talks down to you if you disagree with him, but has a great sense of humour!
Excellent lecturer. Stays away from Powerpoint (always a good sign). I found the content very interesting - I'm not sure why one would take a polisci course if you don't like... politics (referring to previous raters). He DOES like saying "understand the implications," haha. Good class, though.
Great prof! He's hillariously funny, not afraid at all to address issues on all sorts of subjects though drinking beer seems to be his favourite. He tends to repeat himself, which actually makes it easier for me to understand the lecture. All in all, what can I say? He's great!
What a brilliant man. This is the only class I have never missed because I look forward to hearing what he has to say. It's really too bad there are not more profs like him here. He's the best prof here and he knows it!!
Great class, you may actaully learn something. I suggest everyone takes this course and its a nice break from the MC tests which only guage how much BS you can put up with. This course actaully gets you to use your brain. Prof Nutbrown does a great job presenting it.
Teach more classes! I've never had a class that Ive liked as much as this one.
Great Prof, both in class and in general if you ask him for help on something he is more than willing to do his best... as a fourth year student who took his course I found I learned something every class, and my bf who isn't even in his class would sometimes come just to listen to him lecture... so far my fave prof @ UW.
yah, this guy is very charismatic and intelligent. what you get is a different way of teaching and course structure which is all very engaging. definitely my fav prof at UW as well.
He's the only reason I woke up before 11. Go to his class and you'll see what I mean.
A very doctrinaire Leftist. If you don't toe the party line, his lectures will be grating. He is a Dutch Uncle Tom.
Why can't they all be this engaging & witty & human? When i think back, i should have visited his office more regularly. Great story-teller. Even better at making you think.
The only class I actually looked forward to attending....all semester long...not 1 class was boring! just brilliant in engaging students to think differently!
A very interesting class. Going to lectures was an absolute must.
LOVED HIS CLASS; AMAZING PROFF
His lectures are always interesting but hard to figure out which parts are important and how you can use the lectures to answer questions on the final.
The course material is dry at the beginning, but it gets better. His notes and explanations are of a consistently high standard. He's a funny guy too. The assigned essays are interesting and thought provoking. However, the textbook for the course is horrible.
If you read the textbook you will be fine. It is hard to pay attention.
One of the best profs I've ever taken a class with. He covers everything in enough depth that you learn plenty, but not in a way that overloads you with info. He's a fair grader for the exam, and will regrade any essay if you don't agree with the mark. Recommend this prof.
Is an amazing professor. He is funny, engaging, and knows his dtuff. Must take this course even if you do not see a future in politics.
THE BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD!!! HE WAS SOOOO FUNNY AND VERY HELPFUL. ONE OF MY BEST COURSES. MY MARK WAS GREAT, AS LONG AS YOU GO TO THE LECTURES, READ THE TEXT, AND DO THE ASSIGNED WORK YOU'LL DO GREAT. HE MADE MY FIRST YEAR GREAT! I TOTALLY RECOMMEND HIM!!!!!
He is a great professor with interesting lectures, not it is not for everyone. Sometimes it can be hard to pay attention in class. Just read the textbook and go to your tutorials and you will do fine.
Funny...but you don't really know what he covered when it comes to the exam.
The style of his lecturing isn't for everyone. I found it hard to keep focus during his class. The course work is light though. Two essays, no midterms, and a fairly easy final.
Not for everyone that's for sure but not a difficult class, 2 essays and the final and that's it. The content is rather dry and it's hard to decipher what is important or not from his lectures. However, Professor Nutbrown is a great guy, funny too.
It has been a honor to be a part of your class. RIP, sir.
As I finish my last year of PSCI, I cannot help but think back to my first course with an incredible prof. You were smart, funny, and extremely kind with every student. You always had time for questions, and never turned anyone away who needed extra clarification. Thank you for sparking my interest in PSCI. You truly changed my life. RIP.
