The best professor I had ever had. Excellent lecturer, extremely helpful and sincere. Fantastic course that presents political issues from multiple perspectives without even implying which one is right or wrong.

Hands down the best prof in the department. Cares immensly for students; willing to help. Also, gives many perspectives. His teaching will add more dimensions to your thinking: not everything is black and white in his class.

Great guy. Greatest, is when he broke is micro-phone because it wasn't working. Always laugh at least once. One problem, he says "Understanf the Implications" atleast 5 times each class, aka I put it in my essay for him 5 times too, just for jokes.

Good lecturer/speaker but doesn't seem to care much about his students in this introductory course. Don't recommend taking this course unless you have too. If you are really interested,don't pay $500, read it off of wikipedia.

Excellent Prof. A++++ Highly recommend. Good course lecture material (I actually learned something!). I thought he marked a little too hard on the final... I'm a third year ARTS student and it ended up being one of my lowest marks!

This was 2nd political science class I took. It was so boring I barely went to class and I never skip. He marked hard on final,ta knew nothing, tutorial was a waste of time. He rambles on about a lot of nothing, don't expect to actually learn anything you need for exam/paper in class.

Excellent lecturer. Stays away from Powerpoint (always a good sign). I found the content very interesting - I'm not sure why one would take a polisci course if you don't like... politics (referring to previous raters). He DOES like saying "understand the implications," haha. Good class, though.

Great prof! He's hillariously funny, not afraid at all to address issues on all sorts of subjects though drinking beer seems to be his favourite. He tends to repeat himself, which actually makes it easier for me to understand the lecture. All in all, what can I say? He's great!

Great class, you may actaully learn something. I suggest everyone takes this course and its a nice break from the MC tests which only guage how much BS you can put up with. This course actaully gets you to use your brain. Prof Nutbrown does a great job presenting it.

Great Prof, both in class and in general if you ask him for help on something he is more than willing to do his best... as a fourth year student who took his course I found I learned something every class, and my bf who isn't even in his class would sometimes come just to listen to him lecture... so far my fave prof @ UW.

The course material is dry at the beginning, but it gets better. His notes and explanations are of a consistently high standard. He's a funny guy too. The assigned essays are interesting and thought provoking. However, the textbook for the course is horrible.

One of the best profs I've ever taken a class with. He covers everything in enough depth that you learn plenty, but not in a way that overloads you with info. He's a fair grader for the exam, and will regrade any essay if you don't agree with the mark. Recommend this prof.

THE BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD!!! HE WAS SOOOO FUNNY AND VERY HELPFUL. ONE OF MY BEST COURSES. MY MARK WAS GREAT, AS LONG AS YOU GO TO THE LECTURES, READ THE TEXT, AND DO THE ASSIGNED WORK YOU'LL DO GREAT. HE MADE MY FIRST YEAR GREAT! I TOTALLY RECOMMEND HIM!!!!!

He is a great professor with interesting lectures, not it is not for everyone. Sometimes it can be hard to pay attention in class. Just read the textbook and go to your tutorials and you will do fine.

The style of his lecturing isn't for everyone. I found it hard to keep focus during his class. The course work is light though. Two essays, no midterms, and a fairly easy final.

Not for everyone that's for sure but not a difficult class, 2 essays and the final and that's it. The content is rather dry and it's hard to decipher what is important or not from his lectures. However, Professor Nutbrown is a great guy, funny too.

As I finish my last year of PSCI, I cannot help but think back to my first course with an incredible prof. You were smart, funny, and extremely kind with every student. You always had time for questions, and never turned anyone away who needed extra clarification. Thank you for sparking my interest in PSCI. You truly changed my life. RIP.
