You'll learn a lot.
Fun guy to learn from. Funny. Interesting. Makes the subject matter enjoyable and interesting. Very energetic, which makes the class more engaging. Highly recommend if you want to learn. Don't recommend if you want an easy A.
very energetic and funny guy. will always answer your questions, but this doens't mean the tests are easy. you need to read the course pack for a B. attend class & read for any chance at an A.
Loves to hear the sound of his voice! Class drags on with his random stories that no one cares about. He seems a little out of it most of the time.
You want to avoid him if you can. I can not understand his lectures at all. Starts rambling on about his past stories that make no sense at all and dont relate to the material. Funny guy because he sounds like Rafiki from the Lion King.
This is a wonderful prof. He will go out of his way to explain things to you in great details. I will take his class again!!
Unorganized, difficult to get a straight answer from, never tells you the entire truth-Save yourself the trouble and take Park. DON'T BELIEVE HIM when he says tests aren't cumulative! Each test pulls from prior material heavily. Don't trust his study guide
Avoid this Professor. Yes he is a nice guy and he will try to explain material, but just doesn't deliver properly. Only gives 3 test, 1st 2 =60% of your grade and last is 40%, so you basically have to get all A's on exams to get an A for class.
extremely chaotic, does not speak english well
VERY UNORGANIZED !! - He gets distracted very easy in class and can start talking about past experiences, while he was in the middle of explaning a problem. Not clear on expercations on papers and performance in general. Horrible slides, hard to understan
unorganized!!! very long and boring! tests are medium, some of what he lectures on and some he never covered.
Very disorganized. Rambles in class about useless stuff. Keeps you guessing on the correct method to study for exams. Tests are cumulative dispite him saying otherwise. 3 tests are the only grades, so if you don't study the right stuff on one, tough luck.
Powerpoint slides = horrible. Tests = hard. Speech impediment = ummmm, i might have understood 3 words all semester. He is very scholared but very unorganized, even though he has 4, yes 4 TA's. When you go into class be sure to cover your ears.
His tests are difficult, study the practice questions he gives and they ARE cumulative even if he says otherwise. Lectures are pointless b/c he is disorganized and you cannot understand what he is saying (accent). Nice guy, but maybe not such a great prof
Very knowledgeable. Good person. Horrible professor. He says his tests aren't cumulative. Its a lie. Talks for 3 hours. No breaks. The book is easier to read then his powerpoint slides. Doesn't explain problems very well.
Avoid this guy! You can't understand him because of his accent and he wastes so much time. I did better in the class when I stopped going to lecture.
This man posted answers to his study guide+let them sit on WebCT for two weeks, told each and every student who disagreed with him that they were wrong, and then told us his answers were wrong FIVE MINUTES BEFORE THE FINAL EXAM STARTED! AVOID AT ALL COST!
I concur with with pretty much everyone in here. Professor Ajayi is a real nice man but he sucks at teaching. Maybe it is because he is a very thick accent and he is not organized. I guess I should be happy since I pass.
Possibly one of the worst teachers at UCF! He was really hard to understand. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK!!! The teacher disagrees with half of what it says and only mentions that seconds before thetest.Sounds like Rafiki from the Lion King. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS
Nice man but HORRIBLE teacher. Strong accent, much like the movie Cool Runnings. Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, come on Jamaica its bobsled time. Coooooooooooool Running!
An okay teacher (his TAs are cool too). If you READ the study notes and example questions, you should do fine. He even rewards those who attend EVERY class with random bonus points which do help your grade!
Too many kids in class and not willing to help! TA's did all the work why need a teacher should just pay the TA's. Couldn't even talk about error in my grade with him!
Placed questions and terms on website for review of tests! Great Help but it contradicts what the books terms are. Not a good Teacher at all! Do Not Enroll
Can't understand him... Constant pull between the authority of his notes, his lectures, and the book - you never exactly know the right answer because (suprise!) neither does he. Seems nice, but hapless. Try to get a different professor.
Horrible. If you are in his grad class be sure to put section titles in your paper. Include one for intro and conclusion. This is how he avoids reading papers. He will not specify but he expects your 5 page essay to be like a book. Ask him what format.
He is one of the best
One of the worst. His lectures are worthless. If you want to learn something, this is definitely not a way to go.
nice guy, bad teacher. havent learned anything. no offense to you undergrads, but an MBA class w/ 130 ppt slides per night? give me a break. i wish i would have found another teacher.
Horrible professor. I can't believe he teaches graduate courses. He can't tell you what he expects in your assignments because he doesn't even know. He constantly contradicts himself. He gave us 2 entirely different formats for the research paper so toss a coin and you'll be wrong anyway.
Very strong accent makes him difficult to understand, absolutely no organization, never opened the book, memorized practiced questions and got an A...didn't learn a thing though.
Waste of my time and money. Unwilling to help, and doesn't know how to teach. Do not enroll in this class with this teacher.
He is a really nice guy (in fact he's a pushover). However, as a professor he is horrible. He doesn't teach anything. His ppt slides are detailed, so there is no need to attend class (he adds nothing to the lectures). This class was a big waste of time and unless you have to take it, I wouldn't.
He is really good and the class is totally mathematical. So, if you are good in finance and calculations only then take this class. Really easy going and first exam is easy but the rest are really hard so beware.
The professor was very nice, well organized in his class preparation, fair and very knowledgeable on the subject. He was really into making the class proficient on the subject. I learned more than I ever expected to in such a 6 week summer session. He did keep us the whole time which is almost 4 hours in these sessions but I was never bored.
Horrible teacher!!! Hard to understand due to thick accent and bad teaching style. Lectures tedious - just him reading us his slides that often were incorrect and had to be corrected. Tests were OK as long as you memorized the sample questions. Horrible class.
Ajayi is a nice guy and a decent teacher. He is a little absentminded but lets you get away with things if he likes you. Dont buy the book- its useless. If your in his grad class just do your paper on masculinity/femininity and youll be fine. midterm is hard but I got a B in the class...class is boring though. Overall he is cool
Prof Ajayi is a very interesting and dedicated professor. His accent is thick, and he can be difficult to understand, but he is very intelligent and up-to-date. He has a lot of very good information and knowledge to share. Easy tests (study the sample questions!), and interesting material. A very nice course to take. Thanks!
You can get an A despite him. Boring lectures, got to make the effort to understand him. Don't buy the book, be ready to be bored in class, stay though don't follow your friends out the door @ break, because something will stick with you. Study the MC questions, do the paper on Hofstede, get an A!
I love this professor! For international students or students interested in life outside the US, this is THE BEST professor on campus! He will go to great lengths to help students who show interest in learning. Best contact I EVER made in college.
Dr. Ajayi is one of the most energetic professors that I've had. He is entertaining, although his lectures are sometimes boring and there are lots of slides. His exams are very hard even though he gives you sample exams on his website. He requires two written papers. Be sure to get clarification on what he is looking for in his papers.
I have never seen anyone read slides for 4 hours off of powerpoint in blue and yellow. I have never been more productive in class, since i worked on other things while he babbled on, then dropped 1 or 2 test answers at the end of each class. This guy is to teaching what the credits are to movies.. he hasnt updated his slides since 2000. Tests aren'
Very helpful professor. If you focus on sample test and attend reviews you should be okay!! He is willing to help you. Be involved and stop by his office!!!
ABSOLUTE WORST PROFESSOR that I have had. Hard to understand, I taught myself everything. His accent is really thick and he goes off onto irrelevant information constantly. If you want to pass, DON'T buy the book, study the study questions over and over, and don't listen to him. AVOID!
Ajayi is a really nice guy. This is the easiest course of the upper level finance courses. I highly recommend over the other finance courses. He is a bit hard to understand in lectures, but that really doesn't affect you at all. Study his review which he gives you and write a good paper and you guarantee yourself a B in the class. Very nice teacher
Personalable professor. Very hard to understand with his thick accent. If you get the book, he allows you to use an older edition. I bought an older edition for $5 on a used textbook site. Be sure to download slides and study them, along w/ sample tests. Memorize world capitals and stock indices for extra credit points on exams
ok if you doze off for literally a minute you will think he is speaking a different language because he is that hard to understand! You use your brain trying to understand his thick accent rather than ACTUALLY understand the material! USE HIS "STUDY PROBLEMS"! and you could pull off a B easy!
Great Professor, very interested in the subject that he teaches; however that does not mean you can actually understand him. Class attendance is really not nessicary, but he will help you in class as much as you need it. Study/Memorize his sample questions and look over powerpoints, and you should get an A.
I really enjoyed the class. The Professor has a great sense of humor and really tries to have us understand the world in which we operate. Tough accent to understand, but once I got used to it, it was fine. I highly recommend!
Good prof. Has an accent but you get used to it pretty quick. The tests are based off the sample problems he gives you, so STUDY those. He curves the tests and your final grade a lot. I would recommend him to anyone looking to take a finance elective. Easy B with a little work you get an A.
He really knows what he is talking about and is a very nice guy! However, he is hard to understand. Talks fast, goes through the slides fast. He provides sample problems to study, which some appear word-for-word on the test. I used the book A LOT because of his accent and pace. Curved every test, but NO homework to help boost your grade.
LOVED him! Amazing, all of you who are complaining and b**tch are just lazy and dont care about finance. If you really wanna be good at what you're majoring in, you will enjoy his class. I still use the knowledge he gave me, and i took his class months ago. Im taking him again for graduate class. He is one of favorite professors!! def recommend
Very nice professor. Always seems very happy. He is hard to understand so I started reading the slides and studying on my own, which worked fine for me. Fairly interesting subject matter. Tests are pretty easy and he curves them. I did bot use the book.
I can't understand a single word he says, I spend the entire time trying to focus on what he is saying rather than learning anything. He also speaks fast and will be onto the next slide before I have one sentence written down. I wouldn't take him again if I knew, I thought I'd get used to it and I cant. Grade is based on 3 exams only, nothing else.
I agree, he is tough to understand. His reviews are the most helpful as they cover many test questions. I did not use the book even though I bought it. I barely went to class as he was so hard to understand and got a C. Could have gotten a B for sure (missed by 1 point) if I read the book and studied more thoroughly. He does curve tests a lot.
Terrible professor. Don't understand how he is still teaching. You cannot understand a single word he is saying and he honestly seems dumb. He looks cheerful but hes not helpful WHATSOEVER to his students. Only 3 tests and that's it. You wont learn anything.
Dr. Ajayi is great! I had him in International Financial Management. It is a fun easy class. You don't need to come to class or read the book, but it definitely helps and he will sometimes give extra exam hints to those who show up. Your grade is 1 easy group project and a few exams ( Multiple Choice w/ extra credit). Take him, you won't regret it.
Pretty hard to understand. The tests are difficult as well.
The worst professor I have ever had. His accent is terrible for understanding. But you get adjust to this and start to understanding in two or three lectures. His tests are tough and full of questions you don't find in lectures ppts or in textbook. I emailed him regarding one of his mistakes the made in his lecture, so my work was downgraded a lot
Yes he does have a tough accent but go to class and follow his lectures, you will get used to it. He is passionate about int'l markets and it shows. He will help you where he can and cares for students that show up to class. 3-30% tests and 1 10% group project makes it a tough pass but he gives test hints during class. I really enjoyed his class
Such a great an funny guy. You really learn a lot in his class an he makes the material easily understandable if you put in the work
Professor is from Nigeria and has a heavy accent so it is sometimes diffucult to understand his lectures. He is very nice and super approchable so I would suggest going through his reviews and asking him questions off that and youll be able to pass. Class is done off powerpoint.
This is definitely one of the better finance electives to take. Hes very hard to understand but he posts everything you need for the tests online.
People say you can't understand him but I understood 99% of what he said. You're graded on 3 exams only and the exams are pretty tough, but he posts practice exams that are basically the same as the real thing. In class he explains exactly how to do the multi step math problems, which you won't be able to learn from the practice.
His classes are boring, he just reads through the powerpoints. He is a tough grader, dont expect to get an A in this class. First exam was fairly easy, final exam had questions we've never seen in class or in the sample questions. Two group cases, also don't expect good grades here. His accent is very hard to understand.
The worst professor I had at UCF so far. I had to withdraw since I am failing this class, and I am an A student. I don't understand what he is saying . He doesn't explain anything ,and his tests have nothing to do with his poorly organized powerpoints or the book. Avoid him
C- on the first test and went to him to express my concerns, he made it pretty obvious that he didn't care to help. Straight A student, yet I'm scraping by in this. It's doable if you have a lot of time. A on the second test by studying a full WEEK. He's there for tenure & doesn't care. He has no idea what chapter we're on when he walks into class
He's a disaster. He gave conflicting statements many many times about what he wanted for the group project and took points off for not including page numbers of all things. Students that only did half the assignment got almost as good of a grade as others that messed up a few citations. Exams are 90% of the course and it's really really challenging
I can tell he means well, however his class is terrible. He uses the full 3 hr class and tries to make us stay later. Jams so much info into those three hours your head is spinning. Exams suck. The review is just him going over the practice questions he gives. A lot of people got A's from not going to class and just studying those questions.
Just terrible... One of this professor that doesn't have the gift to teach. Honestly, the worst professor I ever had. Get ready to get bad grades on exams. Very stressful. Avoid him...
The worst professor at UCF! Avoid him... I thought this class will be easy, but I was terribly wrong... I couldn't process anything he was saying and his power points were a disaster...
Poor organization of this class. He makes the material so much harder to understand. The book was very easy to understand compare to his unorganized power point presentations. Tests were very confusing due to his poor English grammar. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!
On his harder math questions, he takes the liberty to round at the weirdest places. Not even every step is rounded the same. If you don't coincidentally do it the same as him, you'll end up having to guess on the problem. His study guides have the answers, but just the answer. No steps on how to do it. Don't take this class he really doesn't care
Ajayi Is the nicest professor if you really get to know. Go to his office hours and speak to him. If you study you'll do well, just like in any class. :D
The man is a bit of an enigma. I liked him as a person, he had interesting stories from his travels which I found to be entertaining. Yet, I'm not sure he really does the best job as a teacher. I went to all his lectures and still did very poorly by my standards. The only way I know of people who've done great is non-stop studying.
Tests are 90% of his course but I would say half of the questions are on his sample tests. He is extremely boring with an accent. Does not interact with students at all and gives out no homework so I basically had to teach myself the whole course. He's a good guy, and I'm not saying he's incompetent. He's just a very bad teacher.
Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. He doesn't explain how to do any of the math, and it's fairly complex as it's an upper level finance course. His tests are basically the practice problems, but you have to figure out how to do them entirely on your own because he posts a solution only, no explanation. I'm a straight A student but seriously struggling.
Think of the worst professor you have ever had. Now, multiply that by two and that is professor Ajayi. He read directly off his powerpoints and does not explain any of the math work done in the class. Avoid at all costs.
Worst prof ever. He shows up late unprepared and does not actually teach. He reads a ppt with 30-60 slides that only speak to the conceptual information with no regard for the implementation of the knowledge. He barely speaks English. You will be lucky to gather every 3rd or 4th word. I have no idea why the university hired such a terrible educator
Worst professor I have ever had. You cannot understand what he's saying half the time. His grading scale is also extremely messed up and makes no sense, when I tried explaining why it was bad he didn't even understand what I was saying. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. He is very nice, but the worst teacher I have ever had in my life.
His "lectures" consist of him reading off a PowerPoint and refusing to engage students. His exam questions are pulled from sketchy third-party test banks, completely irrelevant to what is supposed to be taught in the class. You know there is a problem when the final exam average is in the low 60s. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
The slides that he uses are quite old, during class he reads them top to bottom, word by word. They are useful, but personally I learned more if I read them on my own. Why is the class hard? There are mistakes on the slides as well as in the practice problems. So you study the practice problems and memorize a method or a concept and its wrong.
I honestly thought that the review I read before taking the class came from lazy students exaggerating. They weren't. He is by far the most disorganized professor I have ever taken, the entire class looked lost and he confused everyone with his lectures. I did well by going through the PPT on my own and spending a week doing the practice problems.
In 7 years and 2 degrees at UCF, I have not had a more incoherent, disorganized professor than Ajayi. He fails to provide clear instructions for assignments and then gives condescending feedback about your "lack of understanding" DENSE lectures - His PowerPoints totaled 811 slides over the semester and little to none of it ended up on tests. AWFUL!
Take this as your sign. AVOID this professor at all costs. Dr. Ajayi is the most disorganized professor I have ever had. You will need to teach yourself everything, as his accent is so thick you can't understand him. The group project is graded harshly, the highest grade in the class was a B. The exams are from a test bank that has tons of errors.
Worst professor ever.
I enjoyed being in Professor Ajayi's class. His powerpoints have a lot of slides so studying was quite difficult as I was not sure what would be on the exams, but he and his TA were responsive when I was not sure how to do something. Study the sample questions he provides and you will be fine.
He gives dense, rambling lectures that add no value. Exam questions don't line up with the material. No clear expectations for papers & then takes points off for not reading his mind. Feels like a finance class, not an Int. Bus. class, taught by someone who hasn't worked outside of academia in 40 years. Class won't help me professionally at all.
Worst professor I've had including both graduate and undergraduate coursework. Does NOT include any guidance whatsoever and exams do not match what is being taught. Had four assignments in total, two exams and two case studies. Does not respond to emails, is disorganized, and doesn't seem to realize he's supposed to be teaching a class.
Professor Ajayi is absolutely awful. His grading criteria is unclear and he takes massive amounts of points away for unclear reasons. He gives little instructions on assignments and is not willing to take the time to clear things up. He grades on few things so those points mean a lot. Avoid at all cost!!!
Unfortunately, he is the only instructor for int'l business. Class was nothing more than calculating currency exchange rates. Lectures were never on topic, often no content was covered at all. Luckily, attendance was not necessary. While an int'l business class should have tons of potential, this class is nothing more than a tax for a degree.
Unfortunate. I was very excited to take an international business class. However, Ajayi turned an interesting topic into a boring one. It was nothing more than reading off of powerpoints for 3 hours. Personality wise; he is a good man who has a lot to offer in terms of experience and knowledge; he is just not a good professor.
Ajayi's class is a bit of a mixed bag. The lectures can be dry and disorganized, but Unstuck study proved helpful for study prep. Assignments lack clarity, and exams don't align with material. Overall, a frustrating experience, but the material itself has potential if taught properly.
