this guy is very down to earth, knows his material and makes the class fun, not so strict with due dates and grading. take him whenever you can

Don't miss class b/c he doesn't post all of his notes online. Other than that you'll be fine. Nice guy. I would take any other class with him again.

Very interesting subject. He knows what he's talking about and doesn't bore you to death. He's easy going, has fun stories to tell, etc. There are 5 assignments where you write a dream you had and what you think it means. two exams- 35 questions each.. REALLY easy, they're right from the powerpointslides. Definitely recommend this class.

Nice interesting class. The professor is really nice , teaches well and keeps you entertain with stories and interesting information regarding the topic. 2 Tests throughout the term based on the notes he gives you from his powerpoint lecture and offline. 5 Dream interpretation papers too, but as long as you just do them you're fine. Awesome.

Fascinating subject. Definetely knows what he's talking about and cares about the students. Easy assignments and as for the tests, just study the power point notes he gives you and you'll do fine. Great character ... loves them talking trashcans -Ha! lol

HE IS SUCH A GREAT TEACHER. THE CLASS IS EASY,THE TOPIC IS REALLY INTERESTING, AND HE REALLY KNOWS HIS STUFF. THE BEST PART, THERES NO TEXT, JUST ONE BOOK WHICH HAS ALL THE MATERIAL YOU NEED FOR HIS CLASS. HIS SLIDES COINSIDE WITH THE TESTS. I SUGGEST YOU TAKE HIM IF YOU WANT TO PASS AND LEARN ALONG THE WAY AS WELL!!

This class is beyond easy. Midterm, final and four dream interpretations. I had him during Summer A so it might have made the class a lot easier. Never had to read the book, just studied the notes and got an A.

i took his psych. of dreams class. he is amazing!! lectures are not boring at all!! the test is straight from the notes and the concepts are explained in an easy to absorb way. i look forward to going to his class, and i learned alot. just make sure to go to his class and take good notes in addition to the ones he provides. :-)

I had this professor for Psych of Dreams. He's a pretty funny guy and really knows his subject matter. Only 2 exams a midterm and a final plus a dream interpretation project where you interpret 5 dreams of your own. Pretty insightful class, I suggest you take it if you have an elective to knock off.

I took this class during Summer A. it was very rushed, but interesting. i wish this class were longer. 2 tests and 4 papers. He talks like brian from family guy and looks like a hot peter griffin.

Took him in Summer for Psych. of Dreams. Great class if you need the elective. Easy writing assignments (four of them) and two tests which where more or less straight from the notes. No need to buy the book just be there to take the notes and you'll be fine. Easy A!!

The real side of the class: You learn from the lecture, teacher is sacrastic but very hard and demanding. Tests are tough, &tricky (most tests are curved) but if you study and you're in class everyday, you will be fine. For non-majors, if you don't need to take the class as an elective, avoid him. If you want to take class, take him with caution.

This guy is wonderful. If you are not interested in the practice of Psychotherapy, as in the talking treatment, than don't convolute your schedule with a hobbiest interest. Just take an easier course; not elective material! For those who are interested however, you should have no problem. Had this man all summer and he is invaluable to FIU! Easy A'

This is a GREAT class with a GREAT teacher (with a GREAT smile and GREAT eyes...) He is helpful, funny, easy on the eyes, and makes the class interesting, interactive and lively. Take him, BUT only if you like the topic and you are serious about is. Tests are not the hardest but no joke either! GREAT!

Great professor. He really knows his stuff and his lectures are pretty interesting as well. You don't really need the text, the tests are mainly based on lectures, which I wouldn't recommend missing. He's corny at times, but overall it was a really good class. And he purposely puts trick questions on the tests so be careful.

Awsome professor who really cares about getting the material accross, very helpful to students, very respectful and great lecturer. Lots to gain from his classes.

Cool instructor but a little on the hard side. He only gives 2 exams and a dream project, if you miss either exam you're pretty much doomed. He didn't really give any reviews which sucked. I tried to study as much as I could but still failed the class. You have to give 300% of your time to the exams or you may not pass.

This is a really great class for anyone interested going into therapy field. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you don't go you probably won't pass. Tests are really hard but passable if you study. He let class out early 90% of the time but crammed a lot of material into the time we were there. Very helpful outside of class as well. Love him :)

I had professor ALbrecht for Dreams during Summer 2007. The tests are not difficult if you show up to class; trust me show up. Albrecht is an extremely insightful and intellectual individual. The class has altered my perception of my dreams more so than before. Do not let anything undermine the essence of this class; it's simply wonderful!

Rick, and yes, you may call him RIck, is a phenomenal professor!!! He is extremely knowledgeable and humorous as well. You will gain a great deal of information about counseling and therapy by taking his class. It is worth your while! He is clear and concise with his expectations and makes attending class a walk in the park!! Highly recommend!

though the material is VERY interesting, this course is NOT easy. the exams are quite challenging: they're not the every day multiple choice, you really have to critically analyze the material.

psychotherapy.. i loved the class he was crystal clear, the book was crystal clear but the exams not so much..... multiple choice but boy are they hard!!!!!!!!!!! the answer could be a, b or c it was weird.. i learned alot felt i knew the material but due to the tests i still got a c when usually in a psych class i get A'S or B'S

I took him for psychotherapy, and it was by far the best class I have ever taken. The class was interesting, and he is an amazing teacher. Not only is he good looking, but the way he describes things is mesmerizing. :) He curves the exams, which is great because they are a little tricky. I never used the book, make sure you take good notes!!

Great Professor. His tests are very challenging but he curves generously. Attending his classes are the best way to get all the info, he posts notes online but they are missing tons of info (so you are forced to come). On a side not he is pretty hot in a nerdy kind of way ;)

I studied a lot for this class and I still got a C. You must attend his class in order to get the notes, and you definitely HAVE to read the book (great book too). He's a good professor, great lecturer. He sometimes uses videos which makes the material more interesting...btw he's really cute! girls, you actually would like sitting front row

Very good lecuture, with videos and full of "field" exemples. Problems: Too much material for each Exam, Very weird Exams (you feeling you are did fine while taking the exam until you get shocked with your grade! ), No extra credits. It is a great lecture, but from more than one third of the class failed...and cumulative final ...nobody deserves it

Professor Albrecht is simply awesome, his class was my favourite and he is one of the best teachers I ever had during my career. His class isn't that easy but he does an excellent job for his students to understand all. He is funny and a really nice decent person. Plus he is helpful if you have any questions.

His test are not hard. I studied for all of them the same day (including the final) because I always seemed to have a test prior to the class. I got a B+ but an A is very attainable (I am not even a psychology major). Listen in class and read the chapters, notes are not necessary. I recommend him to anyone interested in the subject plus he's hot.

He is one of the best professors I have ever had! Very intelligent, clear, and helpful. His tests have a lot of information and consist of both lecture and book readings. Only the final is cumulative. It is refreshing to see professors that are good at what they do, finally!

If you could take another class instead of this one I would recommend it. He is a good professor but the subject gets a little boring and redundant. A midterm, a 15 page paper, and a final, all fairly easy (but you have to read and go to class). He is very cute in a nerdy way so you will at least have eye candy if nothing else.

Prof. Albrecht is great! His lectures are some of the best I've experienced. Informative & interactive. Attendance is necessary to receive information from lecture & slides pertinent to the exams. Being familiar with the information is not enough to pass exams, you must know the information - studying in advance is crucial to earning a good grade.

I remember glancing over the end -of-term ratings by students- we had all given him the highest possible scores. The class may not be the easiest, but if you go to class every day, there's no reason why you should get anything but an A. I missed a test, and couldn't study for any other exams, and still passed. He brought back passion to education.

I took all the classes he has taught because he is such an amazing professor.If you want an easy A don't take him. But if you actually want to have a professor who is interested in teaching and you actually learn from the class, not just class info but you get a lot insight about things. I highly recommend him.

Wise, Versed, Experienced. Very comprehensive and detailed lectures which provide a substantially higher degree of intellectual stimulation. It would be in one's benefit listening to this man speak.

This is a pretty good class. The professor is nice and the material is not hard, but can get subjective and hard to study, since there is never fixed terms. Warning: If you do not like to study and are not a good writer, do not take the class. This class is not an easy A, you will have to work very hard. I do recommend it though!

I rarely go on this but if i do it's because either the prof. is 1) really good or 2) really bad. Pro. Albrecht is definitely #1! He is really engaging & funny in class & knows his stuff. This class is very interesting, but if you are looking for an easy elective, dot not take it. The tests are kind of hard and you have a big paper to write. If you are good with learning a lot of material, then you should have no problems. Not an easy class.

Dr. Albrecht is the best professor I have ever had during my whole college career. I took all the classes he has taught: Abnormal Psychology,Psychology of dreams and dreaming, and psychotherapy. Each class has been wonderful and the great thing about Dr. Albrecht is he is very knowledgeable and challenges his students. I totally recommend him.

This is one of the best class I've ever taken in my entire career. I love Dr. A. He is smart, helpful and funny. There are 2 midterms and one cumulative final, and one paper. Reading the book and attending class are essential to earn a good grade. The questions from the test come from notes and book. Make sure you study ahead of time. He's the BEST

Dr. Albrecht is an amazing professor. I had him during the summer of 2011 and this course just takes you in so many fascinating directions. Unfortunately, it was a Saturday AM class so it was like a 6 hour deal and he held the class in rapt attention. He fills up quickly for this reason. I would take him for whatever he teaches

His class is AMAZING!! However, if you don't have a real interest in the class beware, there are only 2 exams and a final paper. However, he is amazing, very easy to understand and is very helpful when you have questions or need and little extra help. He also makes class interesting.

Excellent Professor (& class) who knows his stuff, but he's slick. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you miss a class, you miss out on a lot. His exams are based on what he discusses in class. I struggled, but ended the class with a high B+ Be prepared to work, don't think you can memorize everything last minute for an exam you'll be sorry.

Took this last spring, am writing a belated review. He's really nice and his lectures are interesting. He really knows his stuff and is extremely approachable. I recommend this class. You definitely need to study (don't need the book though), and you cannot get away with skipping lecture. He's also pretty hot, that doesn't hurt either. ;)

Attendance is a must. His power-points are online but incomplete as you must fill them in while you are in class. Sometimes takes attendance. Book is not needed. He didn't give us reviews as his schedule was tight but promised he had more time for next semester students. He's a great professor, you just need to go to class.

I loved his lectures, he makes them very interesting, he will relate everything to real life experiences and will make you laugh a lot. He is very charismatic and smart, I think that is why I crushed on him the whole semester, he would see me smiling every class, I thought he didn't notice, but he did. Had a great time taking this class, learned a lot about dreams and some paranormal stuff. Four papers, but he's a fair/lenient grader. Focuses a lot grammar; avoid typos. Exams are a bit tough, but he curves! Put in a bit of work, easy A.

If you want an easy professor look the other way. If you want an amazing professor you will remember when you think back to FIU then take him! Albrecht is a one of a kind professor you will not have another professor like this in FIU! Super educated, fun, loves class interaction, discussions and I learned a whole lot about dreams this semester!

He is the best professor I have taken in my undergraduate career. His passion and way of lecturing are truly captivating and make any class interesting. He is very knowledgeable and professional. I would take any courses offered by him. Truly the best professor ever, you will not regret taking him!

Completely worth getting up early on Saturday mornings. His class is one of the best I have ever taken. Papers are not too long and they are really interesting, making it easier to write them! Exams are hard, but if you put effort with the papers, you will get a good grade in the class. I highly recommend taking this professor!

I'm sure all the people who rated this prof as "Awful" showed up to 1 class before the first exam. Exams are made by the dept not him. There will be nothing on the exam that he did not cover in class. 2 big assignments, but you get 2 MONTHS to prepare for each of them, and if you go to class you won't have any problems. He's fun and knowledgeable.

Professor Albrecht has become one of my favorite professors. His class is not set up for you to fail, but that doesn't mean you can slack off. There are 3 exams YET he allows you to give your reasoning on an answer & he may give credit where it's due. There are 2 papers w/ PLENTY of time to complete. The lectures can be found on his website too!

Makes a Saturday class not as dreadful as it sounds. Lectures are online & incomplete so come to class prepared with your notes & fill them out. Plenty of scenarios & discussion given from him that allows you to learn how all the material applies in a counseling setting. He's really passionate, which makes you want to learn! Put in effort pass.

Really enjoyed this class! Learn way more than I thought I would! Makes the topics understandable and easy to comprehend. Textbook is great for in depth understanding of the material. If you have a question, feel free to ask him for any clarification. Taking a prerequisite class to take his dream class in the fall! RECOMMEND! No slacking off tho!

Such an educated and passionate professor. Mind you, he is really really tough. His lectures are very interesting and interactive. He is really passionate about the subject and is truly interested in student performance and future goals. I had a hard time in this class. Only because his test questions are pretty tricky. But I have learned so much.

Prof Albrecht is super friendly and a wonderful professor! His discussion make the shyest students feel welcome, which is great. I never thought I'd speak up as much as I did and really surprised myself! It's a tough class but he tells us ahead of time. Saturdays are worth it, but no slack! Loved this class, very inspiring. I took him for Spring '17. He doesn't use Black Board so mingling with your classmates is your best bet when you miss a class. Attendance is mandatory! Take notes / record, because he uses slides and every single one will count on the exams. Three exams. He was very fun tbh! He curves the exams a Lot and you really do learn a lot!

This professor is super fun and helpful! It sucks that underachievers are messing up his score. Basically go to class, take notes and study. Don't rely on a group chat to get answers, don't wait until last minute to do your papers, and just actually pay attention. He's very good at answering emails and gives great feedback. No excuses to fail this!

The best professor I have ever taken at FIU!! Although, his grading is a bit tough and a lot of people aren't a fan of his exams, the class is so worth it. He sparks your interest in the subject, he truly knows what he's talking about. He is a professor I would be willing to take again, even if it weren't for a grade.

Dr. Albrecht expects his students to be responsible and learn in his Psychotherapy class but he is fair and expresses concern for the student's success. He is an excellent educator.
