He does not help you to understand the material at all. He goes way into detail about irrelevant material which just confuses you even further. If you are good at studying and learning stuff on your own, then I recomend taking his class. But dont go to his class or youll just get confused.

Always late 2 class & labs. Never prepared. Very rude in emails. One minute something is this way, the next its that, he doesn't know what hes talking about. He'll talk for 10min about something, then say you don't need 2 worry about, youll learn it in 122... I wish I would have seen these reviews before I took the class, retaking in the spring.

I have always made As. I have never studied harder for any other class in my life and I'm barely making a C. class average in an F. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER. Study guides do not help at all. He always made me more confused. will lecture 15 min on something that won't even be on the test. Only his second year teaching. I don't see him getting better

Dr. Bennett is a nice man, but he does not explain things well at all. I had him for lab and he came in late almost everyday. He had no idea what we were even learning or even how to do the lab most days. He would forget to post post-labs, which gave us less points in the class. Do not take him for lab, he is awful!

Worst professor I have ever had. He is so UNORGANIZED. His grading is awful. The comments received on an assignment from Dr. Bennett were unnecessary and he did NOT grade from the rubric . We had to take a quiz at the beginning of the semester over the syllabus, and he didn't even follow by the syllabus. Always changing due dates.

Wants you to succeed. BUT not a very good professor: disorganized. I never felt that his exams truly evaluated how well I knew the material. They were often worded strange and tried to trick. He never seemed prepared to give his lectures and it often came off like he didn't know what he was talking about. Would not recommend. Good luck to you.

Some of his tests were genuinely the hardest things Ive ever taken. The questions were worded so weird, just like he wanted to confuse you. We were never on schedule like the other classes, and we were always behind. I dont recommend putting yourself through this class , of coarse unless want to study for days and still flunk the tests.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! His exams are impossible and are purposely worded tricky. He never responses to emails, and when you ask questions if he doesn't know the answer he won't respond. He is arrogant and does not care of his students at all. Also, this class is extremely difficult to begin with and he does his best to make it even harder.

His lectures always go off topic. It takes him 4 hours of recorded lecture to go through 60 slides.

Dr. Bennett is horrible about answering emails. He has a section in his syllabus that states he will respond to your emails in 24hrs but on several occasions, he hasn't replied to me whatsoever. Also, he takes OVER 2 WEEKS to grade a multiple choice test on BlackBoard. This is unacceptable.

Do not take this professor. Is rude and unprofessional when asked questions about his course. Test questions are worded terribly & made purposefully so they are hard to understand. Takes a while to answer emails. This professor doesnt want you to do well. My advise would be to look for any other professor.

Professor Bennett was extremely rude to me when I asked simple questions about the class and due dates. Lectures are very long and he goes off on tangents. Avoid if possible.

Bennett is an example of some of the worst professors at USI. He has abstruse class rules so you have to read the syllabus before doing anything! He will manipulate test questions in a way that make it seem like you are taking a whole different exam. He also is disrespectful at times as wel. Bio departments needs to replace him for teaching cell.

I used to hear that Bennett was a good teacher a couple of years ago at USI but clearly something happened because the quality of his classes are terrible for a college institution. Its a shame too because he teaches interesting topics. From his inappropriate jokes to his inability to edit his videos, this was a below average learning experience.

Bennett can turn a 40 minute lecture into a 4 hour lecture, and you still will not understand any of the content. I had to read and read the book over and over to teach myself. Tests are impossible because the way he manipulates questions. Never answers emails, and is RUDE when he does. Made me feel stupid and now I have no anatomy knowledge. AVOID

His lectures are hard to hear. His labs are in person even though lecture is online and he talks through half of the 3 hours. He is rude to his students if they mess up and he gets off track. His lectures are supposed to be 50 minutes and all of them are over an hour. Tests are very difficult and your entire grade depends on them.

Dr. Bennett seems like a nice person but he is an awful teacher. His tests are incredibly difficult. I got an A in BIOL121 and now in 122 I have a very low C. His tests are set up to make you fail. His lectures are supposed to be 150 minutes total. He regularly posts 4 hours of lecture a week. Take a different prof!!!!

Terrible professor. Avoid at all costs. He goes out of his way to get students to fail and he extremely unprofessional. During on of his lectures he was literally clipping his finger nails. AVOID

Bennett was not a helpful professor at all. He was ALWAYS at least 5 minutes late to class, didn't get through all his power points, which means he'd record the rest and expect us to take a test over it the next day. He takes forever to answer emails, and when he does, they're rude and criticizing. Read the book and take notes for a good grade.

Dr. Bennett is BY FAR the worst professor I have had at USI, I am a junior pre-med student. Myself along with 4 other pre-med/ pre-graduate program students all struggled with HIS class and will likely all get Cs or lower. His lectures are sloppy and cover the most general, useless information, then quiz and exams cover different material. Avoid.

Professor Bennett was one of the hardest teachers I've ever had, his class was extremely hard to get adjusted to and I failed miserably in his class. There was no room for mistakes and bad grades in his class without major repercussions.

Was always late, very unorganized, not good at teaching. He would get off topic and make things more complicated than they needed to be. When the class got a low grade percentage on a quiz, he blamed us. He proceeds to gaslights and belittle the class, while simultaneously saying that he is not.

6 exams and 10 quizzes, no guides. The majority of the class failed a quiz, and he proceeded to email us that it was collectively our fault for not studying or putting effort in. Over half the class proceeded to fail the exam. Very unorganized. Not helpful when asked about study tips. He wastes the entire 3 hr. lab time talking over slides.

A god awful teacher

It does not matter how much you study, you'll not get above 80. Avoid if possible, the anxiety with him is unbearable. I noticed Dr. Bennet thinks in a different way, so her tests (handmade) are wordy. He messes up when lecturing. He had little knowledge in many of the areas. He ask for a PhD's level of detail on the tests. Dont waste time & money.

This teacher was one of the few teachers that I would consider challenging. It affected my GPA a lot. It doesn't matter if you study his test, they are impossible. No matter how much you know, prepare for a C or an F on their tests.

Worst professor ever. Would purposefully have questions that were worded vaguely as a trap on his exams. If you didn't do well then he would gaslight you into believing that you weren't trying hard enough and his exams and lectures weren't the issue. NEVER TAKING HIS CLASS AGAIN.

This was by far the worst teacher I have ever had. He goes on rants about random stuff that has nothing to do with the class. He talks about the tattoo he has on his forearm a lot for some reason. He is ALWAYS late. There was never one time that he was on time to class. If you have him for lab, be ready to listen to him talk for the entire 3 hours.

He spent more time rambling than actually teaching. He was a super harsh grader. He is rude when you ask him simple questions or send him emails. Do not recommend.

First day he practically bragged about how many people in the room would fail his class. Disorganized, hard to follow his teachings, mostly just reads off PP for lectures. I really struggled and had to drop the class. And it's one of my favorite subjects.

This professor was often not ready for class and during quizzes, would openly roam and make noises with random objects, which was highly distracting and made it hard to concentrate. The way the content was presented felt like it belonged in a lvl 300 class rather than an intro. In emails, he was blatantly rude and unhelpful. Avoid at all costs.

If you're someone who sees the super positive ratings and gleans hope from them, don't. Take any other professor for 121. I was a student who believed, like in any other class, I could come out with a good grade as long as I studied hard. Nope. His exams are purposefully delusive to make you trip up if you don't know every finite detail. Avoid.

Not a good lecturer. Only reads off his slides. Purposefully puts confusing questions on tests/quizzes with “which is most correct”, and writes them in a way that makes you think you're going crazy because they makes no sense. Makes an already hard subject nearly impossible. He's a nice guy, but should not be teaching A&P.
