capobianco is SO great
Most interesting class I have ever taken...Capo is an excellent instructor.
the class was absolutely fascinating. Very little note-taking, lots of discussion. Honestly cares about his students and their opinions. He really likes it when you argue with him, and he has a sense of humor.
Damn Yankee Fan. Enough Said.
nice guy, likes to argue, makes you think. class always goes by quickly, and not a lot of papers. good for advice about stuff other than his subject - knows a lot about the school.
Capo kicks ass. One of the best classes I've ever taken. By the way, he would NEVER penalize a student for differing political views.
capo kicks ass...one of the best professors ive had
Had him for Freshman Philosophy. Great teacher. Very active and keeps the class fun and entertaining. Does require a good amount of work though.
Too much emphasis on participation. Will insult you if you don't participate regularly. Other than that a somewhat enjoyable topic and class.
total complete waste of time, thinks he's god
He is a great prof. Bases class around discussions about some pretty big issues. Gets you thinking. Very little papers and some reading but not too much. Interesting and very funny guy

Good teacher and knows his stuff. Into good music as well.
Conceited as hell, thinks he's a god, and refuses to believe that he is wrong in any matter. That being said, he is an easy grader and will keep you relatively awake during class, if you can handle his ego.
I took this class because everyone recommended I take a Capo course...BIG mistake. I don't think I've ever learned less in a course. Honestly, I came out of that class with nothing despite participating...I do NOT recommend him!!
Capo is the best! His class is so enjoyable and he is very entertaining. He works hard to help students become interested in the class and it is really fun. I've never enjoyed a class this much.
where to start? well it was always interesting...but no matter what I did...i still got a B...while people he LOVED got higher, whatever...I am not gonna take another class with God...I mean Capo --->he is a nice guy though
Best of the best. I was very pleased when he won the Excellence in Teaching Award. I wrote a nice recommendation for him. He is truly a gift to the Stonehill community. A very nice guy who I admire. The best course I took at Stonehill were Capo courses.
I like Capobianco. His class was thought-provoking and challengeg alot of our own morals given different situations. Watch out. He can change your views easily cuz he makes great points about philosophy. He's easy if you understand what's going on. He's very helpful. Break it down for you and he's very clear. Gives tons of examples. + he's FUNNY!

awesome. capo is the man
Great Professor, very fun and intersting class, the quizzes are easy if you do the reading and pay attention in class, i would recommend him any day

I love capo. He is god. Join the facebook group!!
I've had Capo for four separate courses, each more brilliant, enlightening and fun than the last. He is truly a genius, challenging both intellect and moral grounds while keeping the atmosphere fun and interesting. His work is light and he is a great grader. TAKE HIM!
If you enter this class with any knowledge, you're sure to loose it by the end. The only thing that is certain is that nothing is certain...knowledge is lost to the "dialectic". Very loosely grounded and terribly "one-sided" thinking. Do not be fooled by claims of "open-mindedness". Its only "open-minded" so long as you agree with Heidegger.
Capo is the best professor I ever had at Stonehill. Even if you aren't interested in Philo, take a class with the man before you graduate! He is inspiring, his lectures entertaining and the workload enlightening. I liked him so much, I took another class with him the next semester!!
Prof. Capobianco is amazing. He inspires all in his class to contribute to the conversation and plays the part of Socrates quite well. I would recommend him anyone!! Even if you don't need to take philosophy, DO IT!
At first I really couldn't stand him, but he has grown on me. I think the only reason I didn't like him was because he made some rude comments. However, his lectures are very entertaining because of the way he talks, and the class is pretty interesting overall. He is a tough grader on papers, but his easy quizzes make up for it.
Fantastic teacher...loves philosophy and loves teaching. Really makes you think.
I was psyched for capo's class at first...but lectures tended to turn repetitious. He's a great man who loves his students and the subject. I would definitely recommend him but don't expect to receive above a B or B+ on any paper (and don't expect to know why you were marked down).
if you can take phil. with capo your golden, he loves talking to his students and is an excellent teacher, plus not alot of work!
First, philosophy is about circles--don't expect to come out of class with any answers...thats just the profession (so stop complaining) Second...i was a bit disappointed. Nevertheless...the debate is a great experience. If you are in the honors section, he enjoys making digs at your intelligence. Get over it. Overall good class.
The most thought-provoking classes I've taken here have been with Capo. The ideas can be difficult but fascinating and class discussions are awesome, plus he's a great guy and really helpful with everything.
I took all of his classes offered throughout college - absolutely love him. Sincere interest in making things clear, and makes you really want to go to class. Nicest guy ever too - highly recommend him.
he has very strong opinions you cant shake him of
The best class I took this semester!! Capo is a brilliant man who is also really nice and helpful. Discussions made me more interested in philosophy.
Heidegger class was awesome! Capo really knows philosophy and he's a great teacher.
Existentialism is the best philosophy class that I've taken! I loved this class.
Capo's classes were the most interesting ones I took at Stonehill. He's a great teacher and the nicest man!
Capo can be a tough grader, but his class was definitely worth it. Amazing discussions that got me really interested in philosophy, and I talked with him alot outside of class too.
Plan your schedule around the phenomenology course--it's gold. Prof is a hottie.
Prof. was one of the best at Stonehill I ever had! Lectures are interesting and he teaches by engaging all of the students. Do the work and listen in class and you're guaranteed a good grade. Quizzes once a week. Fair grader. Extremely well-versed in Philosophy
Ethics and the arts was a great class. Really good discussions, and Capo makes it all interesting.
Capo loves what he does and he inspired me to continue to study philosophy. Great classes!
This course was my favorite course of the semester. Professor Capobianco is an excellent teacher and a good person.
The great thing about a Capo class is the discussions that he gets going. He also returns papers quickly and with really helpful comments.
This was an incredible class and I learned a lot about both art and ethics. Interesting discussions, and prof Capo is the nicest man who really listens to what everyone has to say.
This was the second class that I've taken with Prof. Capo. He loves philosophy and he's so into the subject that he gets everyone interested. He also loves to debate with students and he forces you to defend your position. Not an easy grader on papers but it helps to go talk with him.
Professor Capobianco is the most dynamic and funny teacher I've ever had. I enjoyed this course more than my other courses and that is all because of Professor C. He loves what he is doing and he is so passionate about philosophy.
This is one of the truly great classes here. If you want to take one philosophy course, take this one with Prof Capo!
The existentialism class with Capo was a life-changer for me. The readings and discussions got me thinking in a whole new direction and his passion for the subject is amazing. He really cares about what he is teaching.
Prof Capo is amazing. Discussions were fantastic, easily my favorite class of the semester.
Professor Capobianco is a very interesting and talented professor, but the class could be pretty insufferable. Because it's a required class, most people in there were disinterested in participating in class, and really held back the class as a whole. Still, Capobianco is great.
Prof Capo is truly an inspiring teacher and he works so hard to get the class fired up about philosophy. He made me really want to think about things in a new and different way, and I am going to take another phil class. He is also such a nice man and I would go to him for advice about anything. Take a class with him if you can.
Professor Capobianco is extremely nice and is always willing to help. He has a very old school teaching style and there are a lot of oral quizzes. He is a stickler for attendance and bringing textbooks to class. Sometimes he will even grade you on preparedness. Overall, he is a very passionate professor and made philosophy interesting and fun!
Really nice guy and easy class. Weekly fill-in quizzes and a group project, plus no final or midterm. Discussions are interesting and he is a very reasonable grader with fair expectations. A little old-school (no laptops and preparedness checks). Definitely worth taking if you're more of a test-taker than a writer.
This was the best class I took. I didn't know what philosophy was about, but prof Capo's lectures and the discussions were really interesting, and I want to take more courses in the future. He really loves what he is doing, and he gets very excited if you ask questions or talk about philosophy.
This is the best class I have taken all year!!!!!!! He is always there for you, wants you to sucessfully pass, and succeed as a student. As long as you try and somewhat engage in class discussion, the class is interesting and fun..... Extra credit opportunities are given too!
My favorite professor at Stonehill. I took his intro class freshman year, and it lead to me becoming a philosophy minor. His classes are super engaging, and you can tell all he wants is for his students to learn. He is one of two TOP 100 professors at Stonehill, and if that doesn't say enough he is also one of the leading Philosophers of Heidegger.
This class and the others I've taken with Prof Capo have changed my whole way of seeing things and I've learned so much from this man. I consider him my mentor because he's helped me think for myself and pursue my own goals in life. I think that he is an amazing person and professor, and I recommend that you take any class with him.
He was very passionate about philosophy and really encouraged participation. I was happy he didn't give a midterm or final. I didn't think it was appropriate to have quizzes instead there should have been short papers. There was a group project with a paper. His homework was mostly reading, which could sometimes be difficult to understand.
Easy class as well as quizzes and papers. Spelling counts on quizzes & bring papers to the writing center. No final and one easy group paper. BRING YOUR BOOKS TO CLASS. Very interesting discussions that got the class engaged, funny and makes you think. Overall, good guy but somewhat rude. Pushes his liberal views on everyone within his lectures.
Prof Capo's class was the best class I took all semester. I loved the discussions and I felt like I really learned something that matters. This was a great class, and I am taking another one with him. His TA is also really helpful.
I took this course because it sounded interesting and it ended up being my favorite for the semester. Prof C is a fantastic person and a great teacher. You really get into deep discussions and everyone gets involved. I would take this class again if I could.
I loved Professor Capobianco. He made the course interesting and is a very quirky but funny guy. Make sure you study for quizzes!! There are a lot of books you have to buy but the reading isn't too much! I would recommend him!
A fantastic course that really made a difference in my life. Prof. Capo really knows his stuff on this, and he was so supportive of my work. I still talk to him about it today.
My best class of the semester even though it was a required class. Lots of grades over the course of the semester and reasonable short-answer quizzes. Capobianco made both philosophy and art really interesting and brought the two together. We had great discussions that apply to life. He's a great speaker and a great guy too.
Prof Capobianco was a great professor. He really gets into it, and the discussions in class turned out to be interesting. I didn't think that I'd like a philosophy class, but Capobianco made this a great class. I am going to take another class with him sometime. Mostly short papers and quizzes.
HE IS THE BEST TEACHER EVER!!!!! He is so nice and funny. He really knows what he's talking about
Capobianco is a great professor! Super nice guy, only a few quizzes, and one group paper, maybe one or two very short papers (1-2 pages), and no tests/final, don't really need to read the books to pass but make sure you show up to class, prepared and take really good, comprehensive notes.
I'm not a philosophy major or minor, but this was by far my favorite class this year. Professor Capobianco is an amazing teacher and he has a brilliant understanding of philosophy and art. The discussions in this class made me feel like I was in college, and not just the usual mindless busywork. I loved this class.
hilarious. He's the perfect professor if you like to argue. He keeps you awake during long lectures with random exclamations when making a point. He is awesome and you should take him.
This was the best business class I took this semester. Really interesting topics and class discussions, and I learned a lot from all the guest speakers. Prof. Capobianco is a fantastic person, and I enjoyed listening to him speak. I would take another class with him if I didn't have so many business requirements. Quizzes can be tough.
I was a senior management major and this was one of the most valuable business classes that I took all four years. Prof Capobianco is extremely respectful of business and business students but he also helped me understand the real life tough ethical decisions that we face in business. Great course and great professor.
I took this course due to requirement but I'm so glad I chose this class with Prof Capobianco. Class consisted of discussions regarding the text we read for hw. Usually light reading - about 20 or so pages. There were only 2 papers throughout the whole course - no quizzes/tests. He is the nicest guy and keeps the class engaging. I highly reccomend!
This was by far the best philosophy course Ive taken here. Prof. Capobianco is a fantastic teacher and he is so passionate about the ideas that it rubs off. He really cares about what you think, and he is always kind. I looked forward to every class and Id take the class again if I could!
Prof Capobianco lectures a lot, but no quizzes or tests. There are 2 papers (1 page) during the semester and all you have to do is read the books and show up to class and you'll do great. The class is very interactive, he really tries to get to know his students. I would 110% recommend this cornerstone and Prof Capobianco, he is the best!
I did not know what to expect in this class, but Professor Capobianco is a great teacher and man and I loved this class. He made the discussions interesting and he respects the students and listens to all questions and opinions. There's a couple of papers, but be sure to buy the books and bring them to class!
Prof. C is obviously brilliant when you first meet him. He is enthusiastic and quirky about the material he teaches. He's so passionate and knowledgable about philosophy that it is contagious. I have no interest in philosophy, took it as an elective and became in love with the class and his teaching style. Very discussion based but fascinating!!!
One of the most passionate speakers I've ever met. He's very intelligent and thoroughly knows what he's talking about. His class is never boring and he knows how to get everyone involved. I would recommend his class to basically anyone even if they don't particularly like philosophy.
Not too bad
Fantastic course! Prof C is the most knowledgeable and passionate professor I have ever had and I especially liked that he respected every student and every question and gave a careful answer to everyone. I actually looked forward to going to class every time. Even if you're not into philosophy, take this course with Prof C!
Professor Capobianco is the only professor I've had this term that I think generally cares about his class. You can tell that he actively enjoys his profession and reflects this on his students. Though if you do not like to participate in the conversion then this class might bore you. My advice if you are assigned to him is to raise your hand.
Professor Capobianco is the best professor I have ever had. He loves to discuss the current culture with us and cares about every student. He tries to invite us to join the discussion everyday. Homework is no worry and papers are easy to do.
Prof. Capobianco is a great professor. He genuinely cares about his students. He tries to get everyone engaged in the discussion. Classes are lectures and discussions and there are a good amount of books you need to by. Homework will take you 10-20 minutes . There are only 2 papers and no quizzes and tests. Would take again!
Professor Capobianco is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Many of my classmates found his lectures very boring, I found them very entertaining and simultaneously enlightening. Your keys to success in this class are: read, pay attention, spend time on the few essays he assigns. Invest yourself just a little and you will be rewarded.
Absolutely one of the best classes I've taken here. The class discussions were intense and Prof Capo is an amazing teacher and such a nice person who cares about everyone. He is also so passionate in the way that he presents every philosopher that gets you so into it. You have to buy the books but this is a really great course.
Class was mainly lectures and discussion based. Had to buy a lot of textbooks because he prefers physical books over online ones. There weren't any quizzes, just 2 papers (midterm and final) that were only 2 pages long. Homework was barely collected so there weren't many grades. Not a bad professor, just thought topics discussed were boring.
He was not my personal favorite teacher, to be fair I am not crazy about PHL. If you read and talk in class, he will like you. Strict about phones, earbuds, laptops, etc. Very pen and paper kind of teacher. He has a lot to say and is passionate about his topics. Assigns a lot of books to buy for the class. Kind of boring class overall
This has been my favorite class so far this semester. Prof Capobianco is so passionate about the topics and I really liked his discussions of Emerson's nature. He is also very kind and helpful when you talk to him after class.
He is a kind person and is very passionate about the course. I am not and that definitely effected my grade. He is very strict about being in class and not having any electronics. He also liked to go around the room a lot, and that was very stressful for me.
I loved my intro course with Prof Capobianco, so I took this Plato and Aristotle course with him and it was one of the best courses that I've taken here. Prof Capo is a great person and a great professor, and the discussions he got us into were really interesting. Almost the whole class got involved every time. Wish I could take it again!
the goat. best prof at stonehill.
If you are interested in more than the usual bs of most classes, then this is the course to take. Professor Capobianco really gets deep into ideas about what the whole point of living is and he is so passionate in his lectures. The discussions were great and I left every class feeling like I really learned something.
Professor Capobianco is passionate about the material and makes the discussions engaging. Attendance is mandatory, and you'll need to read the textbooks, but the workload is reasonable. Unstuck AI was a great study tool along with the free resources.
I took this phil course as an extra and it is one of my favorite classes I've ever taken. Professor Capobianco is an amazing lecturer and almost everyone participates in the discussion every class. It's one of the few classes that really made me think about life and that's thanks to Prof C.
