Cerreto is so enthusiastic about anthropology, very contagious. He is a very popular teacher, genuinely cares for students. His students who continue to 4 year are amazed by how much they already know (and so are their teachers)!

Cerreto's class consisted of easily understood lectures that added personal experience and insight to the material in the textbook. Essay writing and 2 take home tests composed the bulk of the class. Emphasis on learning instead of grades.

Great professor. He loves teaching and you can tell. He does not get annoyed by students comming up to him on his off time to ask a question like some proffessors do. I have taken 2 classes with him already and have been trying to take a third with him. He keeps his classes entertaining and fun. He also has a lot of field work to fall back on.

He is very fair. All 6 quizzes are from the terms at the end of the chapter. You don’t need to buy the new edition of the book; the old one is just fine and much cheaper. It seems like some of the test questions are found in the old book and not in the newer ones. Most of the time he is late to class and he usually lets the class out early.

This class was interesting, but sometimes a little dry. The weren't very many labs, but the mid-term and the final were killer! They counted as half the grade, but they weren't too hard and he gives plenty of time to study.

Great professor all around. I took this class to fulfill a GE requirement and I loved it. Class was always interesting.

Like most, I took this class to fill a requirement but I wound up being much more interested than I thought I would be. He is extremely helpful and understanding of personal problems and has lots of great stories. Great sense of humor. He is aware of everything going on around him and since studying people is what he does, he will be observing you when you least expect it. Beware: he has shellfish stories that will last for days ;)

I had trouble communicating with him until I changed email accounts, if you have hotmail, he will rarely get emails. After that he responded within a day or two except over the weekends. I prefer his in house classed, he is a very knowledgable teacher and very interesting!

Great teacher. Had him for 3 classes awhile back. To this day his stories pop into my head. His classes are worth taking. He's very funny too. He really knows Anthropology and shellfish, lol. Overall, a very cool guy.

Ah man! This guy has got to be one of the coolest dudes I've ever met! Way laid back, funny, very VERY interesting lectures, I looked forward to class EVERYTIME! Easy too, 6 announced quizzes and 2 take home tests! Theres one big paper due at the end of the semester but its easy because its fun! SERIOUSLY!! TAKE THIS CLASS!! I'M TELLIN YA!! DO IT!!

Great teacher. He will always keep you guessing. He is always their and he is probaly the most intresting person i have every met. their is never a dull moment in class, and you can tell the passion for his field.

Mr. Cerreto is an amazing teacher! You will learn a lot in his class. He is a great lecturer, and his grades are mostly based on straight-forward midterms. He is not easy; you will need to work. However, he will help you as much as possible. One of the best teachers at VVC.

Took the online class. He doesnt answer email because if you read in the instructions you are only supposed to contact him through the discussion board. Which I did, and always got a response.You learn as much as you want to, the material and assignments are there,guess it depends what you want from the class.blackboard had problems though.

Took online also. Easy class for the grade. Multiple attempts at 16 quizzes, a midterm, and a final. Learning is self regulated; you can get an A by going through the book during quizzes. If you want to read and learn, well, you own the book and he provides numerous links to web resources. Nice guy when I met him and I hear he's a great lecturer.

Easy A! Took the online class, all quizzes, midterm, and final are due the last day of class, and there is no research paper.

I took this class online. The syllabus was unclear, and he didn't reply to questions on the discussion board or through email. It seemed like he checked the discussion board about every other week, in a six week class. However, it was an easy class once I figured out what to do.

Class was great , even made me change my major to Anthropology.Not at all like other teachers, no "I had to do it, so you do to" kind of attitude, didn't have to proove himself to you, like some new teachers, just knew what he was doing.

Online Class was super easy. Read 1 chapter a week and take a quiz unlimited times. No big projects or papers. Computer glitch gave me a D final grade... Contacted prof and within 2 days it was changed correctly to A no probs.

I loved this guys class. There are 5 easy quizzes, a take home mid term and take home final. On top of that his class is fun. TAKE HIS CLASS. you wont regret it.

This instructor is just awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed his lectures, much humor to keep things interesting. His presentation of his topic made me change my major to Anthropology. If your a stickler for structure he may not be the instructor for you, but if you have an open mind to learn through the experience of someone else, he is it.

He is by far the easiest online teacher i've ever had. I took the 16 week online anthropology 101. it was easy. everything was due at the end of the term and you could retake the quizzes and tests as many times as you want. He responds quick to questions. I hardly used the book at all. Easy easy class. Cool teacher too.

Everyone should be able to pass this class with an A. He offers you a lot of fun and easy extra credit assignments. His quizzes and exams are online and open book, but the way he has his quizzes and exams arranged really captivate you and make you learn. I learned a lot and truly enjoyed having him as my professor. You will not regret taking him!

Took his online class back in FALL 2010, everything was due at the end of the semester, quizzes are taken unlimited of times. There's a technique to take quizzes if you're not going to actually try hard for this class. MUST TAKE this class if you're just going to take it for units and want an A.

Very easy guy that is always there for you. Makes you want to learn and understand the material. I missed two or three quizes and still got on A. Allows you to make up the quizzes. Very interactive. Everything is take home. Uses old editions to save you money. Nice guy over all. Very respectful.

Excellent instructor,both a lot of fun as well as engaging. Book use was moderate, I got through without buying one, but I was often borrowing the book from the library. Tests were difficult, but he is extremely fair about them.

I love Cerreto. Seriously the passion this guy has for anthropology and the ease with which he explains things actually converted me into an Anthropology Major when i was stuck between History and Psychology.

Very funny teacher. Final essay is 10 pages, not very hard though as long as you don't wait to do it. Quizzes are just mostly vocabulary words.

Easy class to get through online even though the work may seem tedious it can be done quickly. Quizzes can be taken multiple times. Online stuff pretty easy.

Good professor, very clear. Assignments were easy, just read textbook chapter and do the online quiz. Very straightforward.

Pay attention. As an anthro major I know the routine. If he wanted to train parrots, he'd lecture on the book. But then you could just read the book and not have to think....

Professor Cerreto's online class was easy. All you have to do is read the chapter, take a brief quiz, maybe answer some questions, and you'll pass. I even did an assignment late, labeled it as late and still got full credit, thinking I'd only get half the points.

Loved this class, be warned he talks A LOT. Sometimes goes off topics but brings it back. For midterm and final make sure to pay attention to what he says and writes on the boars, extremely important. Final/midterm are take home test but vocabulary quizzes are in class, study and you'll get good grades. Cerreto is an amazing teacher(:

Prof. Cerreto was really good. Just be aware that you have to work in groups sometimes and you also have to do active participation exercises.

I heard he is WAY easier in the classroom setting, took him online and it was 14 quizzes and 14 critical question to answer. You can take the quizzes up to 3 times so that takes the pressure off and the questions are grades easily. Everything is at your own pace so its a breeze. I heard they did even less work in the classroom so maybe check that.

Enjoyed this class so much decided to take more Anthro. classes.

16 week online class: Same routine each week. Read the chapter, take the multiple choice quiz (you get 3 tries), and then answer 3-5 questions based on the chapter. You can get his class done for the week within an hour or two. He also gives some extra credit opportunities. No tests, no final. I HIGHLY recommend his online class :)

I took anthropology from Cerreto in the spring and it was by far the easiest class I've taken at VVC. There's just a short quiz based on the chapter every week with 4 or 5 critical thinking questions. As long as you write a couple sentences you're guarenteed an A. Not much extra credit, but each quiz can be taken twice. Great class

Super easy class. I took this as a high schooler during the summer course. Not too much work and can be found online. Tests are very easy. You are given two chances for the quizzes and after the first attempt it gives you the correct answers to retake it. No essays at all. Received a 100% in the class. Cengage is mandatory to buy however.

Professor Cerreto is AMAZING!! My mom took him years ago when she attended VVC so I decided to take him too. It was a great choice! He is really good about posting the assignments at a respectable time, gives you PLENTY of time to complete them, not a lot of assignments, and makes them clear to understand. I highly recommend taking this class! Fun!

This professor was awesome. He has a great sense of humor and was a really great professor. I learned a lot from his class. Id definitely recommend him for anthropology.

A wonderful teacher to take online. All material is available on Canvas and goes by week. Not overwhelming, especially in a 6 week winter course. Easy to email and get prompt responses, and easy to understand the directions.

Took classes 3 years ago and would repeat! Great communication with students and easy way to remember topics through stories. Easy quizzes and tests. Fun paper to write. He keeps class interesting and like people to discuss and interact. Would recommend to anyone.

Taking this class right now, Professor Cerreto is funny and a good lecturer, very interesting and engaging. Not a lot of quizzes so far, and the midterm is apparently take home which is nice. Good class, I like it.

Underrated professor. He's very kind and likes to talk. If you don't like long lectures, he's not for you. I'm planning on taking more of his classes. Near the end of the semester we watched an entertaining movie. Quizzes are super easy. It was an insightful and interesting class. He gives you a bunch of time and freedom with the final paper.

Took his online class very simple, he provides the book through PowerPoints, there is weekly quizzes with the opportunity to take quiz twice and giving you the higher grade. Discussion boards, video assignments. I highly recommend taking his online class.

Leaving this review because I want to recommend Mr. Cerreto for Anthropology, I took this inhouse and glad I did. His lectures are funny, some interesting stories. He gave away a couple quizzes, which was nice, but they are pretty easy. he tells you the chapters, just study the index stuff on the side of the pages, Take home mid term and final.

Loved this teacher, he tells interesting stories to teach the different subjects. Very funny and very nice guy.

Professor is great! Great stories are shared during lecture. Quizzes are easy if you study the vocabulary words! Study the correct terms from the textbook for the quizzes. There are 10 vocabulary questions that are easy in class and can be answered in 15 minutes. Overall, the midterm is a take-home exam that is very helpful for the research paper.

Very Fun Professor, Lectures are vocal no PowerPoints, Gives reasonable breaks and very understanding about missing class or assignments.

Had lots of hands on up to date related activities. All of the problems we focused on in class were problems that we face right now. He didn't have a paper for the summer term but I think he has them for fall and spring terms. A very great professor and he wants to see you succeed and has clear expectations for the work.

Dr. Cerreto is a very interesting teacher. I do agree it is a lecture heavy class because it is a lecture class. However I disagree that he goes off topic. I think you have to be smart enough to understand that his stories area all based on whatever we are studying that week. The stories help relate it all to real life. I loved his class!

Would highly recommend this professor. I took his online course for spring semester , what I loved the most is that his assignments open up Monday 7am, and are due Friday at 5pm, so during the weekend you have no work due. Would communicate effectively. I would definitely take another course from him.

This man can talk a storm but he's a funny guy so it's fine. You NEED the textbook but it can be found online as well if you know where to look. He has 6~ vocab quizzes (just study the bolded words in the book), a midterm/final you take home (final is not cumulative), and extra credit if needed. No homework, just read the assigned chapter.

Love Professor Cerreto! He is funny, his stories had our class laughing, but always relate to what he's lecturing about. He does talk softly, so I suggest sitting in front so you don't miss anything. He is very smart and interesting, I recommend his class in house!

Professor Cerreto is an entertaining lecturer, though his teaching style may not suit all learning styles. The class is lecture-heavy, but his stories help bring the material to life. unstuck study and the free textbook can aid study prep.

I enjoy this teacher, he is funny and interesting and challenges us to think outside the box and to be more independent thinkers. Lots of stories, but they do relate to his content and lead to some really interesting discussions. I do recommend Dr. Ceretto, I would take more classes from him.

Loved Cerreto, he was a delight to have for anthropology. Your grade is simply your quizzes and then your midterm/final. It's really not a hard class and if you're attentive it'll be easy to follow along. Only downside was having to purchase the textbook. Would 100% take him again and recommend him to other students.
