Dr. Chisik is one of most caring and understanding profs at Ryerson and will do whatever it takes to see you succeed. ECN501 is definitely not an easy course but do not be discouraged because he rewards your effort and perseverance. Just attend all his classes and do the homework questions and you will be fine. He will bell curve A LOT!!!

I highly recommend taking Industrial Organization with Professor Chisik. If you work hard and put a lot of effort into understanding the intuition and mastering the math, you will be successful. Don't skip a single class.

He makes you work for the answers. if u go to his office hours( which i highly recommend) he takes the time to help you through the problem. Even if u fail all the exams he will pass you if he sees that youre trying. Make sure you know ALL the. Practice questions especially the past exams. Really cool prof tho. GO TO EVERY CLASS

Lecture videos are pretty lengthy but they're more enjoyable to watch than others. Can get confusing at times but he helps a lot during zoom classes. It is very evident that he really likes Economics and tries his best. The homework he gives can take a long time but its good review for the exam.

Prof. Chisik is a GOAT. If you have ECN104 take it with this man, he has clear lecture videos to explain the content easily, 5 hwk out of 7 is required for your grade counting for 35%, easy 1 midterm worth 30%, easy final worth 35%. Prof. Chisik rounded everyone's hwk up, gave extra marks for free, I don't study and got 90+, he deserves a 5/5. :)

His lectures were mostly video recordings where he does go into detail on the content, while sometimes going off track. The homework sets were overall generous, as you got 3 attempts per question so you were assured a good mark. His mid-term and final were completely multiple choice, but not too difficult. He also gave extra marks due to COVID :)

The professor was really nice. He gave us extra 3 marks by the end of the course as there were some errors in the questions. His lectures were a lot but once you understand the lectures then you are good. There were a lot of questions in each homework but the good thing is that we have only 5 to do out of 7. I would like to have him again.

Best prof I had all semester. His lectures are so detailed that you wont need to read the textbook a lot. Assignments and exams are pretty long, but he gives a week at least to finish the assignments. He is really nice and cares about his students.

This man was the goat Econ teacher for real. Everyone was hyping up Kam, but I'm telling y'all this is where it's AT! Really funny dude, cares for his students, and very knowledgeable about what he talks about. I 100% would recommend to anyone, and only wish I could take him for Macro next semester.

Might just be God in human form tbh... Loved Chisik this year he's hundos one of the best things about TRSM.

Econ hard on its own but Chisik makes it a little more fun and cares about his students. He curved everyone and gave bonus marks cause he understood the difficulties of studying through a pandemic. Major props to him, and I would recommend him to anyone that has to take Econ courses at Ryerson!

Favourite prof this semester, he's easy to listen to and his lectures are entertaining. He's really generous with grading and it's easy to ace all the homework assignments, I didn't even buy the textbook and got along fine. If you're can't choose between econ profs definitely go with him.

you are marked based on homework, a midterm and a final exam. the professor gives extra marks if there is an error that he made on a question. He is a very clear lecturer and is willing to answer any questions you may have.

Professor Chisik cares a lot for his students, even on online learning. He answers questions best he can, if you do not understand something definitely ask. Go to lectures. They are generally interesting, and he focuses on concepts that will appear on exam. Mid-term is OK, final is reasonably harder. He is willing to bell curve on exams.

imo he was one of my fav profs this semester. he's really funny and his lectures are prerecorded so you can study as you wish, zoom is used to go over questions. he's pretty understanding of online school circumstances and his final and midterm were fairly made. biweekly hw is an easy mark for his class.

Overall great prof, teaches concepts clearly and takes up difficult questions during class lectures. However it's important to state that reading the textbook and doing online assignments outside of class time is crucial in order to get a good grade in the course. Just because this prof is a gem won't guarantee you'll do well in the course.

Awesome professor, chill and doesnt make his students stress over this course. Complete the homework and MyLab assignments and youll do fine. Midterm and Exam were very fair.

Apparently, Richard is a better prof virtually? I read the bad reviews about him before, but none of them were true when I took him. He also allocated 35% of the course grade to online homework, which dramatically boosted up my GPA, even though I got 60s in the midterm and final.

Honestly, the bad reviews on him are not accurate. the course itself is pretty difficult so it's easy to blame the prof. hes a really nice guy who always tries his best to help his students. the midterm was very fair. make sure to do the practise test. Mylab is worth 35% so it can help boost your mark a lot even if you do bad on the midterm& final

His lectures are long and sometimes hard to understand which Is why the textbook will be your best friend. he uses mylabs and has homework on there that you have to complete but u have to complete only 5/7 which is good. midterm was easy, final was fair, homework was easy especially with the # of attempts you have + its worth more than the midterm

Professor Chisik is an engaging lecturer and fair marker with poor use of technology. He covers the textbook in detail at three hours every lecture but his online writing is difficult to read. He bellcurves often and is patient and kind in answering all questions. Kam is universally loved for this course, but Chisik is certainly not a bad choice.

I really enjoyed having Chisik, he tried his best in lectures and made such a hard course easier to understand. His lectures were lengthy, but you will definitely learn. I did quite well because of him, he answered questions well and was always very patient. A great choice for microeconomics in my opinion.

Good prof. Gives my labs which are worth a lot so they boost your average. Exams are average. Knows how to teach and is genuinely caring.

There was alot of homework but it was easy overall considering it was 35% of our grade. midterm was easy, final was hard overall. Easy A and I would take him again. He is also very patient with students. I lost my mind attending lectures due to the cycle of dumb questions (the same question being asked again and again) being asked by students.

Mr. Chisik was a great professor who is caring and accommodating. Lectures were long but the textbook helped to study for the midterm/final. Although, what bothered me was the number of STUPID questions students would ask him that were either common sense or could be found in the syllabus. He also has messy writing, but you can get past it.

He was very easy and nice, he cared for everyone.

I slacked off in this class HEAVY, which was evident in my grade. Chisik himself was a great guy and put up with way too much in our class. Very kind and gave multiple extensions for homework and an extra mark at the end of the course for a mistake on the exam. As long as you apply yourself to the course, you'll get a good mark :D

Prof Chisik was great! He is caring and took time in every class to answer all questions. Weekly homework was question heavy, but prepared us for the exams and was weighed evenly to show our understanding in our grades. His lectures were informative and he connected everything to real life scenarios. Would definitely recommend Chisik for ECN104.

Not mandatory to attend lectures but more beneficial than just the slides. His humour is also appreciated. Prof. Chisik provides is very accommodating to class and answers any question (even dumb ones). MyLab homework can be tedious but pretty easy and worth more than midterms.

Amazing professor, content can be confusing but he is willing to explain further when needed. Exams are slightly difficult, but are fairly weighted along with homework, and he goes over the entire exam with you after if you need. Definitely recommend if you're trying to choose between profs!

Very chill prof. he tries to make his class fun and is very caring, his homeworks are way too long will take you at least 2 hours and the exams are SO hard. his effort is appreciated tho he's a good prof but the class is pretty hard. And attendance is not mandatory.

Professor Chisik was quite a patient and friendly lecturer. If you want to be engaged during his lectures, you have to read the textbook chapter(s) in advance to have an idea of what he's talking about sometimes; otherwise you'll be lost and bored. He was caring about marks as well as he offered open book and bonus marks. Respect to you Chisik!

Professor Chisik is a great professor who strives to make economics interesting. His lectures can get a bit heavy, but he makes cool jokes and shares "out of the textbook" stories/news, too. Ensure to stay to the end of the lecture as he solves practice questions that you'll find very useful for the midterm and final.

Professor Chisik is a nice guy and truly cares for his students. He spends time explaining concepts and is reachable outside class. Content heavy on the tests but the mylabs can help boost your grade

A good prof but the homework is dreading. Its partially my fault for being behind so i dont know the answers and have to find them but it is 60 questions every two weeks, but each question has like 4 parts. SO its actually like 240 questions Im not joking each one takes three hours. I've also just been learning it myself through the textbook.

This man is an absolute legend and when I say that he literally is the GOAT. His lectures are quite informational and may get boring from time to time but hey, he's quite a funny prof. One of the best profs I've had so far in my Uni experience. As others say, he's quite caring and gives lots of opportunities for us to learn and grow.

If I could take all my courses with one professor, I would choose Professor Chisik. He genuinely cares about his students' success.

I did take Grade 12 econ, so I was familiar with the basic concepts of the course. Prof Chisik did a great job at explaining concepts, and he very obviously wanted everyone to understand the material. Just do the readings and HW, attend lectures, and you will do great in the course. I'm a journalism student and I found the course not too difficult.

He is an okay prof overall. His lectures can get pretty boring, but he makes sure everyone understands what he's talking about which was nice. The midterm was online and the mylabs were very time consuming but they're good practice and are a large portion of the grade. The final was pretty straight forward as long as you study well for it.

Super nice prof who cares about student success. Always willing to clear things up and really wants to make sure everyone understands. As long as you read the textbook and learn from the mylabs (easy albeit tedious) you will get an A. Do the extra credit too for a boost. I went to less than half of the lectures and found the course pretty easy

Good prof overall but so much homework it's not even funny. The mylabs due every week were 60 questions (multiple parts) and took a lot of time to complete. They weren't very hard but annoying. His lectures were kind of interesting at times but not always. The exam was straightforward if you studied but worth 50%. Good professor overall.

He is AMAZING! He gave us 10% extra credit, and his lectures were not boring.

Painful Exam. Great Professor. Expect to ask for clarification sometimes though during his lectures. While the concepts and examples he uses are good, you might get lost in his formulas.

However they are good preparation as they force you to study. He gave like a 10% bonus at the end too. exams were a bit tricky so make sure you study for them.

These new 1.0 reviews are just people who sit in the far-back and slack off. Great prof, and though his lectures are long (which he's acknowledged), he tries to make them as bearable as possible. Love his little jokes. He will help you as much as you need. BE PREPARED TO TAKE NOTES. Sometimes, he gets lost in his math, and it'll be hard to keep up.

Bless this prof frfr, I've heard other profs teach easier but Chisik is really passionate abt Econ. The midterm and final were fair. Tip: The course itself is not meant to be easy breezy, use all the resources, ask questions, and genuinely put in the effort. Don't study at the last minute. (The homework questions took me like 5 hours)

A super nice professor who gives great lectures. There's a lot of homework, but it's easy, just keep on top of it week by week, and you will be fine.

There is a LOT of homework but it definitely helped for the exams. The homework felt a lot harder than the actual exams. He is a very nice guy and actually answers your questions. He is also very understanding if you need an extension.

An honest, good, hard-working professor. He is very knowledgeable during his lectures; they are posted on the D2L, but he does specifically cover some things only during the lectures that are on the exams.

Read. The. Textbook. Although the lecture is based on the textbook, attending class helps to clear up any confusion especially on Nash Equilibriums. He will explain information and blatantly hint whats on the exams. Participation homework was 36% of our grade so definitely get it done.
