This prof is by far the most awesome MATH professor I've had in CUNY (MIT material), a real gem at hunter. He's good humored, loves maths, gives you lots of real life examples and brings abstract concept into comprehension. Definitely recommend him for anyone who is willing to learn and also put in the work!!

The textbook he uses is total garbage. Don't waste your money. It's incomprehensible and the back says it's for a second course in lin. alg. or GRADUATE students. The class is very, very difficult. Seriously. Beware. Some people might like him, but for me he was condescending and intimidating. He'll make fun of you if you aren't a math genius.

Professor Churchill is a bad professor. He does not use blackboard. During quarantine there were no classes because he does not use technology other than the computer he has in his office. He supplied notes but the notes are terrible. He explains things how he understands them. Cannot teach and the way he grades exams is terrible.

In my opinion, to get in A in this class, you have to be willing to study as much as possible. Each chapter in the textbook requires about a week of study and his notes are helpful, yet different from the textbook. If you do manage to study 30-40 hours a week, then you will see why Churchill loves this course.

Do yourself a favor and take it with someone else. I had him during the COVID-19 semester, and he did not teach a single class. He said he doesn't have access to his email outside of school and told us to read from the textbook. It was a nightmare!

For in person classes, make sure to take good notes and do his DNHI homework as well as take home homework and make sure to review those problems before an exam because half of will be hw questions. As for taking him online, he won't be teaching so just make sure to watch Prof. Leonard on youtube to understand the content and do the hws.

He is the best professor I have ever met ;) Stick to what he says, notes, and homework. It's the math that could kill you, not him. His exam is pretty fair and he curves based on your work written on the sheets.

This is a self-taught class. It's insulting to credit any learning I did to a professor who's handwriting is illegible or gives up on a problem midway because he gets lost. You will not be able to use calculators on exams. His tests are structured in a way where it's possible to get -8 points on a -2 point question. Save yourself the trouble.

This more like a self taught class. He doesn't like to go over things more than once. He is a mess. Makes mistake when teaching us examples. A proctor had to come in each class and watch him because of the complaints. Does not let you use calculators. He also does not care if you don't understand. Horrible Professor Overall.

There is no extra credit for this class. The professor expects you to know all the prerequisites! His notes and lectures are very confusing. You will spend majority of this class teaching yourself. No calculators/ technology is used. Save yourself the trouble or just watch Professor Leonard on YouTube!

Can only rely on his notes that don't make sense cause he uses his own notation and things online will confuse you more, handwriting is illegible (he can't read his own handwriting), forgets how to solve problems and needs students to help him, has a love/hate relationship with the textbook, only good thing is that he curves grades a lot.

i really appreciated churchill's class and how relaxed he is as a teacher. he is clearly a genius, and explains the material well. the math can be hard, and his notes are essential, brilliant, but tiny. they are the key to his course, but almost impossible to read. i would DEFINITELY show up to every class and participate

Hands down the best math professor i've had. The material is tough, but Churchill is very clear on what it takes to be successful in this class: Take good notes, read the textbook, do practice problems outside of the assigned homework, and absolutely brush up on your trigonometry. He is good about breaking down new concepts into simpler parts.

Do not believe all the positive things said about him for Calc 2.He's very difficult to understand and to follow. His tests are far harder and bare very little resemblance to his DNHI's.He curves but you can't rely on it to save your grade. Majority of the class scores very low.Weird exam grading method but it prevents the entire class from failing.

This class is made difficult. He often does not understand what he teaches and relies on students for help. Moves too quickly and is confusing to understand. Test heavy and HWs barely count towards your grade. Very easy to get lost, and is not engaging. Very little test preparation. He does not use blackboard. Tests and notes are on paper.

Very old school if you know what I mean. Handwriting is bad that even he can't understand. Sometimes moves on from questions, even he can't solve and assumes that we understand it. The test questions are harder than what he gives for homework and the textbook. If given the chance to choose my classes again, I would choose a different professor.

DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS FOR CALC 2 AT ALL CLASS UNLESS IT'S YOUR ABSOLUTELY LAST CHOICE. Absolutely horrible. He focuses more on applications that actual problems. His tests are 10 times harder than what he gives for homework and the textbook. Even, if he adds extra points, it still isn't enough.

Horrible professor. His handwriting is abysmal, and he doesn't answer his own questions 90% of the time. Recently, he answered a homework question on the board, and gave the class 5 different answers and said he didn't know which was correct. Would not recommend.

You must sit at the front because his handwriting is difficult to read. Curves heavily for exams. You must study a lot and by a lot I mean do every possible question in textbooks or you'll get lost. He's nice and will try and help especially if you participate during class. Use youtube a lot too. Try to avoid if u don't have time to study a lot.

Doesn't use BB. very old-fashioned but nice. His handwriting is hard to understand, but if you ask him right away, he will address it. He grades 10 homeworks and 4 exams (the final is counted twice). He will drop the lowest grade, and curves. Study your definitions for this class because his exams are formatted around memorization and application.

I took him 2 semester ago. Horrific class. He get's his own in class examples completely wrong. His exams are far more difficult than the homework/DNHI. He however does curve albeit very strangely. I would STRONGLY recommend to avoid the professor at any cost. Take the course at another college if necessary.
