had a tough course but brought it to the students in a very understandable manner. good teacher overall.
This guy is the worst! I took his online coures and it was like I was teaching myself. He nevers answers his email either. If you really like economics as well as a challenge, then this is the guy for you.
Me is a very difficult Professor, and he sometimes does not answer questions right away in class or in the hallway. But he IS available for one on one questions during office hours. He acts like a professor would at a 4 year college.
Economics is a hard course, I took in the summer he was leanient.
people.. do not belive to those who say that he is a bad teacher. he is really a good one. take my word for it. I got him for macro and micro economics. However, do not take the course on line. you are a moron, if you take this class on line.
taking online course. The course itself is very difficult, especially if you do not like this business concepts. He's defintely 4 year college material, I think he is ok, not too demanding. Just right.
I had him for Macro, Micro, and now Modern asian history. He is the teacher for you if you are willing to work hard and truly interested in what the calss has to offer. He will not however let you "take the easy way out".
This man is 4yr college material. Moves quickly-you need to take good notes. Does have a tendency to jump from topic to topic so u need to stay awake. He is brilliant though...no doubt about it. Slackers need not apply.

Nice man and very smart. I enjoyed his class and would take him over Prof. Baligh any day. This Professor is very informative and you will learn. Read the book and you will do fine.
A poor public speaker who had a tendency to say, "um" quiet a bit. He is very concerned about cheating and emphasizes the measures taken to prevent it on exams and papers to the point of exasperation. A pretty mediocre professor overall.
Could not disagree more with the previous review. He is an excellent professor for those who truly want to learn. He is not for the "average" student. Work hard, and you will be rewarded. Slack off, and well...
This professor was tough. He knows his stuff for sure and is very intellegent however, I found him to be exremely rude at times to students and made fun of their ability. It was almost as if "eery question was stupid to him".
I thought he sucked. He never answers emails in a timely manner, if at all. Considering the fact that I took him online, that really sucks. I didn't retain much from the class. Online classes are limited learning but he was the worst online professor by far.
took him for Macro, and it was pretty tough. Gotta agree with the previous comments; if u are the one who seeks for the "knowledge," take this guy. Gotta be awake during the semester - doesn't write notes at all. I studied MAD HARD for ECO101 and somehow got an A, but still i'm AFRAID to take ECO201
good professor
VERY POOR PUBLIC speaker. He says "um.uh.umm" ALOT. Distracted me from paying attention at class. I actually counted how many times he said "um..uh". He also treats you like youre still in highschool. Can't get up out of your seat or leave class. But he is very knowledgable in his teachings.
definitely the route to go because I took Baligh and failed him. Comerford is tough but he does know economics and he is a million times better than Baligh. Make sure he knows you are really working and he will feel for you!
He's a smart guy, but part of being a good professor is having some humility. He's so uptight that students almost fear him. If he learned to be a bit more sociable, he'd be a great guy overall.
Prof Comerford was a cool guy....funny at times. Exams were hard, but he curves. Miss 1 day of class and you'll feel lost. Comerford definitely knows economics, thats probably why he's hard, he thinks we're all as interested as him....I just needed to fill a requirement!
Knows his stuff. Tests are very hard, you really need to study in order to pass his class. Sometimes does not focus on the subject that he's suppose to cover.
He knows ECO very well, he's boring, but u can't help it. It got interesting at times. I got a C in 101 and 201, hard as hell for me but if he sees u putting effort, he'll hook u up. Very serious. My class got yelled at bc we didn't read the chapter. The only way out for Economics.
this teacher tries to make the class fun; but his corny as jokes dont make it fun. basically in this class you are workin all by your self. you gotta read the book and the test are really hard do not take this professor unless you really want to do all the work by your self.
well, his problem is that he's Serious, and very Uptight, but he's smart, the class is challenging anyways, but he can do a little better to make it easier or be more friendly and sociable, I dropped his course because just because I wasnt ready for this class, but he is alright comaring with others
Nice guy, a sweet guy also if you really get to know him. The class is challenging but u must study in these courses, read the book and try your best, you'll be fine. Do not listen to these people, I took him last summer and he still says Hi to me, and he IS social, dont be intimidated by intellect
Professor Comerford is a veyr fair good teacher. The exams are somewhat difficult, but hes does a great review and answers all questions that are meaningful You must read the book but i would reccomend taking his class
I was very satisfied with his class and his teaching style. He's an intelligent individual, and definitely knows his stuff well when it comes to economics and business. I wouldn't say that his class was hard, just more challenging than others. What do you expect? You're in college not in high school. I highly recommend taking his class.
nice guy but not a good teacher
hard but good professor, EVERYTHING in his lecture is in the book and is on the exams, you have to read the textbook and cannot miss class, it was a lot of work but i learned a lot
Prof. comerford belittles his students, goes too fast and yells at u for asking ?'s. I dont recommend taking him. Hardly teaches ne thing but tells corny jokes during class.
if you take this class from him you will be sad.
EXAMS ARE HARD.THE BEST THE STUDENT CAN SCORE IS A C+.ONLINE COURSE CONTAINS A LOT OF ASSIGNMENTS.NOT REOMMENDED.HARD AS HELL !!!!
he is the worst professor I've encountered in all my academic career. He doesn't explain anything and belittles you when asking questions and is very condencending. DO NOT recommend! He should be fired!
I could not believe my eyes ,with all these awful reviews for professor comerford, what is wrong with you people, I took classes with him years ago, and I did great, And I also had him for asian history, READ!,PREPARE THE MATERIAL, and let me tell you he helps you to understand. If you really want hard teaching, wait for grad schoool.
Took online, didnt post anything for the first few weeks of class...occasionally gives a question to do for h/w..three exams, no extra credit.. very hard class b/c u teach yourself, doesnt help much..if you take him you must study/understand econ to pass
he didn't teach a lot because many materials you can read it by yourself. He just explained the hard part. You can learn a lot from him. On the second test, the second highest grade was 102.
Everything depends on how much you put efforts in, of course. He is definately hard going, but if you read the book enough, you will do just fine. There were 3 exams in ECO201, (but 4~5exams in ECO101 when I took it with him) and little bit of curve & extra credits on them.
if u get lower grades in his class, that means you didn't read the book enough. Everything is in the book, not else where. just spend some time on studying the exams, then you will be just fine
VERY HARD.TESTS ARE HARD AS HELL.CONTAINS QUESTIONS THAT MOST DONT UNDERSTAND.IF U WANT TO FAIL TAKE HIS CLASS OR GET A C.
I got A from both Macro and Micro, not because I'm smart or anything, but I spend little more time than others for studying the exam. Read the book and just try to "understand" the material instead of just memorazing them. you will learn alot from him!
DO NOT TAKE HIM!! unless you want to fail or get lucky and get a C! his tests are EXTREMELY hard and he blames you for not studying ..not that he doesn't teach well!! and don't even bother talkin to him it's useless..he's so cocky!!
One of the hardest teachers I've ever had. On his exams, not only are the questions hard, but are tricky. I felt like if he taught the material better, I would have gotten so much more out of the class. Expects a whole lot. However, he IS a cool guy, and easy to get along with if you're not a jerk.
I was lucky enough to have this professor twice in a semester. However, Modern Asian History proved to be an easier subject to understand. Perhaps it was because he was a journalist during Vietnam? It made him much more interesting during this class. Exam questions were still tricky, but easier than economics. Would NOT take him again. Challenging.
do not take him!!!! really bad teacher!!! he does not teach and expect a lot!!! bad bad... and mean
WARNING: DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. Honestly, if you take his classes you will drop out or fail. I dropped out after the 3rd class. Anyone else I knew just stopped going. He expects you to read a chapter a week of an insanely complicated textbook...and on his review sheets has the most vauge things. He's old, monotone and boring. STAY CLEAR.
Not very good; i went to Passiai where the macreo class was 100000 times better.
a nice guy but his class is not easy.
The best professor I've had in BCC. The tests are hard but if you study you will get a good grade. Very helpful and he knows his material very well. Highly recommend his course if you are interested in economics.

If you can get an A in this class, you don't belong in BCC. I studied more for this class than I am doing for most of my present classes at another school. He lectures very quickly so pay attention and write everything. Study A LOT for exams, get started on the paper early. One of the hardest A's I've ever had to work for in my life.
Easy going professor, His tests are very hard, very challenging
don't take him he shouldn't be teaching at bcc.
one word says it all BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
probably about 75% of the students will fail his class. His tests are hard and his review sheets are terrible.
don't take him.he doesn't know how to teach and most of the students will fail with him. I don't know how this teacher is still allowed to teach.
to all students who are planning to take economics ,don't take this class with him because he doesn't know anything about teaching and doesn't have a sense of humar.
Took him for Macroeconomics, and it was very diffciult. However he helped me when I asked him to. He knew I worked hard, so he was pretty decent about it, but it was a very hard class, and hes not nice to everyone (especially if you have an attitude) but if you are up for hard work, and your good with economics, its worth a try.
Only took me the first day to decide that I would not want to be in his class. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASSSS
One of the best teachers at BCC. If you are a business or economics major definetly take him. His tests are challenging but you will learn alot. I took him for macroeconomics and got an A in the class. He explains everything in detail and if you have questions, ask he will always answer them.
Had him for Eco 101 & 201. Got all A's. I’m not going to lie, he is not easy, but it’s the class where if you get an A on the test you will feel very happy. If you like challenges then go for it, on the way will learn a lot! Use www.discoverecon.com for practice, all his test questions are coming from there. Study guide is also very helpful.
average
Economics in general is really hard. The prof. is very difficult and a little scary but I must say that when I asked for help he was very helpful. He assured me I would get a decent grade that would transfer, as long as I worked hard and I did.
To all students who are planning to take economics ,don't take his class because he doesn't know anything about teaching and doesn't have a sense of humor. He is also boring and talks like the guy from the clear eyes commercial but if you feel like memorizing 6 chapters for a test this is the class for you.
Very fast paced. We covered 16 chapters in 5 weeks - too fast for me. I'm having to retake the class. Hard exams.
Don't let the comments below scare you. If you are bright, you will do fine. It's true that his tests can be pretty challenging, but you also have to consider that it is offset by the fact that he doesn't overwhelm you with other assignments. I had him both for Asian History and an online Economics class and I learned a lot.
he's not that bad. he is a very smart man, and if you do the reading and ask questions, he'll answer them and you'll be fine. BUT! do not expect to get a good grade if you don't do the reading. if you want an easy A, he's the wrong person to take it from, but if you really want to learn about economics, he's the right person.
He has a serious attitude problem, loves to argue pointlessly. Hard exams.
ugh. This professor is absoloutely HORRIBLE. He gets up in front of the class and asks... "Are there any questions?" LOL Like we have any questions on something that he has yet to teach us! He is an extremely lazy prof who would rather joke about his money and airplane than actually teach the goddamn class! Grrr.. and he mumbles a lot also. Beware
I had Prof. Comerford for two classes many, many years ago. I always remembered him, he was my favorite teacher. He's though provoking and very intelligent. Do the homework and you will do fine (and actually learn something)
Not an easy teacher. Don't sit in back of classroom, he mumbles and sometimes very hard to hear. MUST read the 30 pg ch. b4 coming to class, & MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU READ. Doesn't give hw. Study guides are CRAZY, will give 150 key terms and 6 essay ?'s, but on test 25 multiple choice and 2 essays. I studied for a week, got a C, but hardly read
DO NOT TAKE HIS ONLINE CLASS! You have to take the exams in school, which sucks if yoy have a real job. After you take the test plan on waiting 3 weeks for a grade. His study sheets are useless and he doesn't engage the online student at all. People were trying to ask questions and it was 3 days before his arrogant responses.
I have mixed feelings. He isn't that bad. He's nice.Values students who want to learn. The class is really hard!I feel like he didn't lecture a lot on the beginning but as the semester came closer till the end he explained the chapters. If he would teach as much on the beginning I would be very positive about this class.Study ur butt off if u want an A
took his online course. bhmmm. lets see, the most expensive textbook ever which is impossible to understand, his useless notes and study guides, his tests ask the most obscure details of the subject, and the fact that he expects you to devote 10 hours a week to his class, and gives you stuff on the final that was assigned the day before. worst!!
Took Asian history. He knows what he's teaching, interacts us with lots of comments. Did well thanks to good rubric and policies. Recommended.
Took his Asian History , if your really into modern age japan, india, china.. this class is for you. A basic read and lecture course. His voice gets boring that you can't wait for that 10 minute break. Have coffee by your side please. His tests are mediocre . study what he gives out! Long Research paper course. Not an easy 3 credit. Goodluck.
I took his aisian history class and his econ class, asian history was interesting and might have been the only resaon why i was able to stay awake because his lectures will make u pass out. His econ class was the hardest class i have ever taken, it wasnt interesting at all and he wanted detailed responses on his exams. Even if u study for his exams
knows what he is teaching. Exams and term papers a bit of a challenge. If you are not diligent with academics you will fail this course.
Difficult professor. He doesn't "teach" as much as he talks about concepts which end up having no real relevance to what you NEED to know. Mumbles sometimes, but nothing important. Study guides only tell you what you need to memorize -- helpful IMO. Memorize the terms, know how to analyze at least 1 graph and you'll ace the tests.
Prof.C. is a wonderful teacher who has an immense amount of information to offer. Students must be willing to learn in order to reap the endless heaps of knowledge he is sharing. He maintains tradition by encouraging students to continuously read and regularly attend class. If hoping to gain intelligence, Professor Comerford is the key to success.
this class is intense he gives you an outline on what is going to be on the test but it isnt really helpful all i have to say is read the book again and again he knows his material so you must take lots of notes too ask questions! would recommend another class asia is boring
rude. treats students as beneath him. disrespectful. not helpful at all. doesn't teach a thing in the online class, then expects you to take the test without any knowledge at all. he expects you to teach yourself everything. HORRIBLE, uncaring and truly useless professor. DO NOT take unless you intend on teaching yourself EVERYTHING.
I took him for modern asian history. yea he's boring, but as long as you study and read the chapters then you will do fine. I only got a C because I got lazy. So my advice: don't take this class if you're lazy. It's a difficult class, but as long as you study then you'll be fine.
Very SMART man. Funny jokes, good class discussions. HW or attendance not mandatory. NOT an easy A. I think I'll get a B. Study guide DOES HELP! I recommend STUDY GROUPS to study for tests. Just pay attention and always participate in class and you will do fine. Don't listen to the negative comments here, those people were just lazy...or stupid.
Hardest class I've taken at this school. Professor does not teach anything, He simply hands out assignments and expects you to teach yourself everything! If you are brand new to economics like I was, please take a decent professor at the school. Stay away from this man's online class.
no home works, 3 exams (extremely hard) and boring lectures
Not an easy class at all. Expect to study by yourself for extra 2hrs everyday.
VERY HARD online course!!! You really need to make the time to study and teach yourself everything! No HW. 2 discussions. 2 assignments. 3 extremely hard tests! If you're looking for an easy A, this class is not for you!
He expects students to learn most of the material out of class and then talks about actual economic issues in class. Out of an hour and a half, maybe 15 minutes is devoted to the book. If you want to learn Economics, take him. He's a great teacher, but not an easy one because of the independance he assumes his students have.
This is the the hardest online class I've ever taken. I did studied for exams and still don't know where the questions come from. Lots of material to read on your own and he expects you to memorize many terms and define them during exam.
Comerford's class is largely a current events class from the point of view of Economics. He's accomplished and teaches purely for fun. The tests are based off of the book which he expects you to read on your own, and the class discussions are based around the reading done at home. Excellent teacher. Made me consider switching to econ for my major.
His lectures are not that interesting and you really have to pay attention to key words. You have to rely heavily on your textbook. If you have not read the material, then you're pretty much screwed. Thankfully, his test is 60% essay questions which are given to you prior to the exam. Just read, read, read and prepare.
I love him. I love his teaching way. Very easy class.
I just finished ESL course, so couldn't understand what he said at the first class, because My english was not enought for understaning his lecture. but! he teaches with PPT, and then I could better understand his lecture. Not difficult this class, if you have interest about Asia. I wanna study with him again.
he is a good teacher, but very mono tone which can get extemely boring. His tests are hard and he only has 4, although our class only got through 3. Overall he is a cool teacher, but if you are looking for an easy A do not take, but you will learn from him if you pay attention
HORIBBLE..if you want to fail take him. You will have to take alot of time to pass his class I'd say maybe like 3 hours of studying 3-4 times a week. The class is very boring and not interesting. He gives a review sheet a week before with 50 Topics that YOU have to research. I took this class just for credits and now REGRET it. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE!
Terrible is not the word to describe this professor. I think the word horrific implies enough emphasis on the fact that you will FAIL whatever he is teaching. Speaks with monotone voice. Talks about nothing for the first 40 minutes of the class. I am stumped on how he was hired to be a professor. Do not take him. I have to take again next semester.
A great and knowledgeable professor. He expects you to read ahead in the book (I mean it's college, come on. Why aren't you doing that already?!) Most of the topics on the exam are from the book, however, he does offer assistance for review in class. Quite frequently, however, for those who do not read, study, and ask questions, you will fail!
The textbook contexts is very interesting , but Prof.C always goes of topic with too many different examples he does not care if you pass or nor, nor is he willing to help. he has a very sarcastic attitude. no HW no quiz final grade is based on 1st exam 2midterm and 3 final, which all of his exams are super hard to understand.
A miserable person, disrespectful, get's annoyed at questions, he told a student in class "do your parents sent you to college to get rid of you ?" He o gives 3 exams that are based on more than 5 chapters at a time ! If you fail these exams there are no other substantial way to acquired a grade since there is not homework or in class work. r
One of the best. Had him for Macro/Micro. Clear/straight forward. Walking away with a ton of knowledge. He is not easy.YOU MUST READ THE BOOK IF YOU WANT TO PASS CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. Dont think you can show up and pass without putting in work THIS IS COLLEGE PEOPLE.Really nice person who has a lot of life experiences that one can learn from
One of the hardest teachers i have had at bergen so far. I respect this professor because an A is totally possible but you must put in the effort! Nice man but not an easy grader! You have to study and put in tons of effort!
It is not impossible to get an A in this class but it is hard. 3 tests with no paper. 2 essays(60%) and 25 multiple choice for his tests.
One of best but also toughest professors in bergen community college.
Really liked this course. He has full of knowledge and experience. test could be hard but read text book & pay attention to PP. then get an A. He has a nice personality to help student to study.
It is a bored subject to study but I found out that good to know about business. He is one of good prof. In BCC. Intelligent & knowledgeable. Give students to take a chance to study. If you are into study, you will get an A...
Awesome Professor, has a lot of interesting stories. Took his Modern Asian History course. The topic itself can be very difficult, so put in the effort to study. Lots of PowerPoints, tests are MC with essays--he'll give you the essays with a list of names/concepts to study in advance. Definitely worth taking if you have an interest in the topic.
Not easy to get an A class but when you try to study hard, he knows you. He tries to help students to get involved the class. Test is little twisty but essay is easy. He hands out a review sheet, just study that. Read text then you get an A...he is really helpful & very knowledgeable person. Both His & Econ .
I wouldn't be lying if i were to tell you that He is one of the Worst professor that i have EVER taken in the History of my life! Exams are EXTREMELY hard. I will NOT recommend even to my worst Enemy to take his class. He is knowledgable that's for sure . You will end up learning a lot but if u care about your GRADE THEN DON'T TAKE HIM!
OMG!!! SO generous and knowledgable professor! He gives you 3 tests and 20% of attendency. You will like him!
Really smart guy, hes got good humor, and hes not too much of a hardass. He has an inconsistent style of teaching that makes it hard to learn, but you ask him straight up questions he'll give you good information. His tests are not for the faint of heart
This professor will have you laughing your butt off. He is mad funny. Exams are no joke though but we do not use the text in class. Just take notes and actually pay attention and you will pass. I got an A. This is college guys. Did i mention he is hysterical?
Professor Comerford's class was an intriguing adventure in Asian History. He isn't just textbook knowledgeable, he has first hand experience in a lot of the things he talks about! He is hilarious and has a way of getting you invested in the history! Please read through the syllabus every week, it has all the PGs you need to read so u can stay ahead
Knowledgeable professor. Good sense of humor. He worked as a journalist in Asia for a long time so he knows what he's talking about. Straightforward MC tests with simple essay Q's. Homework for semester is listed on the syllabus so don't throw that away. Picked the class since it was required but the class was so interesting!!
Super hard subj but with some effort, u will get an A. Macroeco exams were hard but he gives u a study sheet n essay qs prior. Memorize and study every wk! He is knowledgeable, funny and caring. Doesn't collect hw. Attendance is a must. Read the book for more help. Would take him again! 3 exams thats all. Non cumulative. Minimal hw
He's knowledgeable about the subject, but very unprofessional with his lame jokes and constantly goes off topic. He gives you tests that you will cram at the last minute because his boring, monotonous lectures will put you to sleep. He doubts your abilities as a college student and makes that clear on his handouts. Sarcastic and rude attitude.
one of the worst teachers I have ever taken. Never seen a professor go off topic so much. He pulls up the PowerPoint and doesn't get to talking about it til after 30 mins because he goes off topic. Do not take it. Do not listen to the good comments. Going to class is pointless and long.
Well, he is a very knowledgable person, but get ready to read A LOT. It's only 3 exams but they are really tough and tricky. The exams are not what you expect, don't try to memorize, try to understand cause you will be surprise.
I knew the class would be a bit challenging BUT he the one of the WORST prof I've had since I started Bergen. His lectures are long and boring plus he teaches as if you've already taken the class... like you are suppose to know the material already
Very knowledgeable! Definitely knew what he was talking about. Come to class all the time and on time, take plenty of notes, read the textbook, look at the problems he suggests to you, participate in class, ask questions+ study for the tests and you will pass! I got a B and honestly, I could've easily gotten the A had I studied a bit harder.
Hated this professor with a passion. Economics is not my field and yet it makes me hate it more with this guy. His exams are tough and can't explain abstract concepts clearly. Do not take him. You will deeply regret it. Save yourselves people. Only study economics if you understand more than basic concepts of economics.
you have to be really into the class because the way he teaches and explains the subject would make you fall asleep
not clear at all, doesnt know how to teach. Just reads straight off the textbook
DO NOT TAKE HIM!! You will deeply regret it. His lectures are very long and its very easy to space off. You HAVE to read the book!!!! If you don't you will not understand. I do not recommend this professor or the class. Only take this class if you understand more than the basic concepts of economics. Do not take this professor!!!!!!!!!!
Funny person. if your looking to barely pass a class but laugh sometimes in class, he is for you. tests are half written small essays and half multiple choice. he gives curves. lectures are tough to stay awaken in
He lets you leave class early, half of the tests are multiple choice but are long sentences of options to the question. Gives study guides for all tests!
Hardest class I've ever taken, it's like Yale level difficulty. Professor is a really smart man and the class is conducted group discussion style. He said a C+ in his class means you did well, and you should believe him. He's also really funny with a dry humor style that not a lot of people understand.
Great guy as a person. Knows the material, but economics isn't my thing, and due to the difficulty of the class, it made it a lot harder. He's there for you if you want to talk to him about material you don't understand, but overall, not a bad but not the greatest experience with him. Take him if you know economics very well.
TERRIBLE. Do not take him. Three tests so you have to pass basically all of them.
Lectures were the most boring I've ever had. He's not a bad guy, just a bad professor. Grade was based on 3 tests THATS IT! If you're easily bored or fall asleep easy do not take. But he is Extremely knowledgeable on the subject.
If you want a hint from me for macroeconomics do as I say, sit in the back, read the textbook, he will not teach you, often gets distracted talking about "what's in the news" He will give his study sheet for the exam, study key terms , learn the vocab so you can write definitions/examples, study right from the book. Only 3 tests no graded homework.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS OR PROFESSOR. Basically if you only had an hr to live take his class because it feels like an eternity. His tests and test grading does not match his weak inaccurate lectures. DONT TAKE! Very sadistic professor almost like he enjoys watching the students struggle and does not care for his students
You cannot miss, fall asleep, or day dream if you want to pass. You honestly have to read the book on your own because he tends to get sidetracked.
You need the book. He reads off the slides and tries to be funny. He goes through the subject fast like we already know about Economics. He also does not post the slides on moodle, which I did not like. Two multiple choice tests; first 125%, midterm30%. Our final was an essay in class35%, but we were able to prepare beforehand because he hands. Do not take him!
The tests are ridiculous. Even if you think you understand the material the test is extremely hard. I never missed class and I tried to understand but it really doesn't help. He doesn't clearly explain anything and then expects you to pass. I would never take this class again.
He's a great teacher! He's very helpful, nice, & makes jokes. Definitely knows what he's talking about, and tries to relate topics to current day. Only 3 tests. Two are multiple choice with identifications, and the last test is an essay. He curves tests. Definitely have to read the book. The class is a little boring, but how fun can economics be?
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. He is very rude and goes through material very quickly but will expect you to know them like an expert. Lectures are very boring and goes off topic every class. If you take this class you will have to teach yourself everything. There are only three test and thats all. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR.
You really have to do well on the tests because there are not many. A really nice guy, just not a good professor
I would not recommend this professor to anyone. He gives 3 tests and each tests increases in difficulty ad increasing in how much it effects your grade. All the learning must be done on your own because his teaching skills are horrible and his power-points are not even worth writing down. If you do take this class, READ THE TEXTBOOK.
You have the option to take all of his ppts on a flash drive from the first day of classes. I did that, and read the textbook to prepare for every exam and scored above a 90 every time. The exams are HARD but if you prepare independently you will be good.
Professor Comerford , in my experience, is a person and teacher that will take care of you, as long as you gain his respect. I had him for macroeconomics, and every class he would ask, "Is there anything in the news?". If you answer him, and give him a good answer, you will definitely rub him the right way. I recommend this class if you aren't lazy
He gives 3 tests two with essay one all multiple choice. All he does is talk but if you pay attention he gives you the answer for the essays on the test. Tests with essay you choose two essays.
He is a respectable guy, just so DRY and BORING. You'll wonder how a 1 hr 15 min. class feels it took 15 hrs 1 min. All he does is read off the power point and ask if we're understanding along with some real questions along the way. Try to take this course with another professor if possible so you don't fall asleep in the middle of his lecture.
Dont take him unless you absolutely have to. Test are very hard, he is very boring, and gets mad easily
His lecture is okay (little bit boring) but it will be super hard for you to get a good grade in his class. Don't take him unless you love challenges.
I can tell Professor Comerford is a good guy, I really do stand by that. But wow he is probably the most bland, dry, boring professor I've ever had. He simply reads off the slides and his teaching style is not engaging at all. He at least tells you exactly what you need to study for the tests, but you have to basically learn on your own.
Great Eco-101 professor take him.
The man is completely unengaging. Nobody in the class would talk or ask questions. 10% of the time he's paused waiting for questions. I would speak when it was available to pad out my participation grade until he threatened me with a report after I accidentally brought up microeconomics in a macroeconomics class.
He is the only professor that made the pandemic harder for everyone
Really one of the most boring professors I've had. He talks very monotone, reads directly from the slides, and if you sit in the back good luck hearing him. He often rambles on into tangents about how the slides and what we are learning relates to real life scenarios and gets carried away. Not worth taking the class.
3 tests and a current events paper, and gives review sheets before the tests. He really knows his stuff, so for this class I definitely recommend taking him. Super dry sense of humor, so his lectures are enjoyable. Had him for this COVID online mess, too, and he didn't do virtual classes. Didn't use the book the entire semester, either.
The exams are really difficult especially for a non honors course. The exam questions are worded so weird that they don't seem to make sense which makes them 10x harder even if you thought you knew the material inside out. You have to study the textbook heavy to pass. Don't recommend taking unless you are a 4.0 student with something to prove.
Don't take this professor. Even being an online class, he provided no assistance beyond posting power-points (copy pasted from textbook), his "lecture" which was a summary of the chapter on a Microsoft doc.. There was no interaction what so ever, and he did not provide any additional/supplemental material. Take any other professor besides this one.
This is by far the worst professor I have had. I have had communication with every professor but him. This professor didn't even bother introducing himself to his students. DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH HIS STUDENTS. He will give you a test without sending you a reminder and proceed to give you a 0. Don't do it to yourself. Find another professor.
The Class was fine, I wish there was more interaction though not much else to say
