So far so good...the semster just started and he making thing pretty simple. Textbook not needed at all. He has power point slides on the learning web. Homework is super easy and quiz every class period.

Dr. Cristiano is a good professor, he is always on time, he kind of tell you where to focus prior to the exam and he ask if you have difficult you can approach him or send him an email. there is a quiz prior to the exam which really helps you to study for the exam. If you are interested on learning microbiology well he is the wright professor.

He is very, very clear and extremely helpful. He also shows a lot of humorous videos from youtube that help you remember the material. He does a lot of reviewing and provides detailed power point notes. The homework and other assignments are nice because a lot of what is in the homework is on the test. I highly recommend this professor.

He is great at teaching the material, and seems to really care about what his students learn. He was a little too sarcastic for my taste. When students have questions, he tends to make comments about the validity of the questions asked causing hesitation for people to ask.

Extremely helpful teacher. Many of my classmates seemed afraid of him but he is more approachable than he seems! His class really isn't that hard, just need to put effort into it and study his powerpoints. No textbook needed. I recommend him if you're not easily intimidated by professors :) He really will help you out if you ask.

Great teacher, had him for Biology 1407 and 2420, he is amazing. if you are a student that really wants to study, then this is the right professor, but if you just want an easy 'A', sorry for you, try some one else. Overall, really a good teacher.

Microbiology is challenging but I could not imagine anyone else presenting this material so successfully to their students as Dr. Cristiano did. This was the best class I took at HCC, by far! Dr. Cristiano is fam 100% of the time. He is chill and explains literally everything extremely well. The tests are straight to the point and he provides all of the material making everything seem crazy easy. The studying is made a lot easier with the depth he goes into with his lectures. I'm really excited in his class. He is very enthusiastic and he teaches very carefully which content considered to be important. I like the way he give bonus question on the test, this rescue my losing point for multiple choice. He responses to every question of student in class very clearly. I will take him for my BIOL 1407 next semester

Very intimidating professor. I was misled by those reviews who said that this professor is funny and enthusiastic. This is not at all true. His lectures seemed to be very mono-toned. Some students fell asleep when he lectured in the dark due to the overhead. I can see that he is a respectable professor, but i found it strange that didn't ever smile

Dr. Cristiano is amazing, he is an expert on the subject and he shares all his knowledge with his students. I feel very prepared for my future nursing classes. His test are straight from his powerpoint just worded very differently, both tests and quizzes can be tough if you don't really study, understand the material and memorize the powerpoint.

Dr. Cristiano is a decent professor. The lectures are a tad dry (what lecture isn't), but he has a knack for re-enforcing the important information. His tests are pretty easy if you pay attention and study. There isn't anything on the test that isn't covered by the lecture/notes. If you fail this class it is due to laziness

Great professor, I didn't know that when I was taking his class, But now am realizing how great he is. His tests aren't too hard, he gives reviews on every exam. I had Dr. Cristiano this summer & he was an excellent professor. INTERACT IN CLASS. ASK questions. He is pretty patient and will answer all questions with no hesitation. Everything is covered in lecture (he will literally repeat 2 times) and in the powerpoints. You do not need a textbook and should not work if you're taking it during the summer.

Excelente professor in terms of lecture explanation. His tests are straight to the point and based on classroom and PowerPoint lessons. The only negative aspect I observed about his character as a teacher is that he maintains an authoritarian air to him, which it creates students to hesitate to approach or ask questions.

Took him for Microbiology& general biology and had a great experience. If you're expecting to do minimal studying think again. Everything is in the power points so don't understand people complaining. His voice is a little mono I will admit so drink coffee before. Subjects are difficult but PP literally have everything. Flash cards helped A LOT.

Good professor. I took him for summer 4 weeks. Quizzes are easy, tests are little harder but if you read his powerpoints and listen to his hints during lecture you will do great. Lectures were looong, I guess its because there was a lot of material to cover, but a good cup of coffee does wonders also make sure you are on time.

Professor Cristiano is a overall a great teacher, if youre wanting to learn and are not just looking for an easy A. His test are strictly PowerPoint based and he emphasizes the test questions throughout. One thing that I didnt like was the district final but he honestly has no control over that its the school. Id take him again.

Will need to work for an A. Tests are not just m/c, but short answers. He will tell you exactly what to study for the tests. His slides are all that you need, but for the more difficult sections, you will probably need the book, or research online. You will need to do a research paper, but it's not too bad. He can be funny (dry), but strict.

I m amazed how Dr Richard covered enormous content with such ease and yet in depth, teaches with ppt-explains every slide, no need for textbook, gives pop quiz before each lecture exam, you'll know exactly how to study with constant pointers, replied to every email I sent if I had a doubt. U need an expert like him for such an important class.

Dr. Cristiano is a fair and very knowledgeable about microbiology. If you want to learn, then take this professor. He is not easy but will make you work for the grade. His tests and quizzes are off his lecture notes/PowerPoint and as long as you study/review then you will do fine in his class. Highly recommend taking his class!

This professor clearly explains grading criteria and whats on the tests. I didnt have to purchase the book. He puts PowerPoints online that we can use in place of the book. He lectures over the PowerPoints in class. We have a couple quizzes during the semester and he lets you know when they are coming up. The tests are very straightforward.

Dr. Cristiano is THE professor to take for Micro. Let's face it, micro is not easy and does not come naturally to most students. Dr. Cristiano is very knowledgeable, but most importantly he is great at breaking down the course material so that it is easy to understand. He emphasizes material that you will likely see on test. Would def take again.

He can come off a little standoffish b/c a lot of his students are unmotivated, but he really does care. He gives quizzes to help you prepare for exams. He can be a tough grader If you dont use the specific terms and phrases that he uses in class with correct spelling (but thats not unreasonable). Overall, I think he is great. 100% recommend.

If you want a professor that knows the material and can explain it backwards and forward during lecture, hes here. The class is not hard but there is a lot of material to cover and a lot to understand and some to memorize. He tells you what is important and what to overlook during the lectures so dont miss class! Took 14 credit hours, all As, worked 40 hours a week, raised two teenagers, participated in school activities. I did study all weekend & not much else! Listen to lecture & study PowerPoint!

Ok! So Dr Cristiano is very explanatory! All you need to do is study the slides carefully and pay attention to detail! He keeps going over likely questions he would ask! His quizes basically lead you to similar questions for exams! He drops the lowest grade! He takes time to explain and is also reachable outside class to explain! I would recommend

Even though you take a quiz in the beginning of class, theyre honestly not hard. The only time I would study for this class is 30 mins before the class starts and I received a good grade. He is one of the teachers that can actually explain the lecture well.

It bothers me that students who get low grades for not studying will give professors poor review. If you dont study and take the class seriously, your will absolutely fail or get a low grade and its not the professors fault. Dr. Cristiano is a great professor. His lectures are on point and very specific.

Took Micro Lab with Dr. Cristiano. Great professor! Explains all lab procedures very clearly. Gives quizzes with bonus questions. Test are not multiple choice, but pretty straight forward from things done in class. He is a tough grader when it comes to spelling. But overall, I enjoyed the class and learned a lot.

Dr. Cristiano is a funny, knowledgeable and straightforward professor. Students do not need a textbook for his class because all of the information for the quizzes and tests is in his PowerPoint. I took him for both lecture and lab. The lab is easy if you pay attention in class. To get an A for lecture class, you must spend time studying his note.

Exam isn't hard for multiple choice but be careful with short answers. He wants u to copy words by words for definitions otherwise u lose your grade. no grade for parts u do correctly in the list of something. one report with topic from him& just pass topic near the deadline. Summer course with him is a big deal. Organized & on time professor.

Dr. Cristiano is a great professor. I learned so much from him and really enjoyed his dad-joke-heavy sense of humor. If you study and put the work in, you'll do great. Had him for lab as well and am really glad I did. I had the book because I like to be able to refer back to pictures/figures, but you can probably do fine without it.

Microbiology is a heavy subject, but he makes it interesting and lighthearted. If you miss class you will not pass, and don't be late on tests or quiz days. I loved his dad jokes and his passion about the subject. I would definitely take him again! I wish he gave extra credit but most teachers don't. He really makes the subject interesting. 10/10

He definitely knows his stuff. you just have to come to class so you don't miss out on anything; every info. counts . Good thing no text book necessary, so you have areas to focus on. Read, read and read again because there are essay questions, so you really need to understand and recall. Also, bonus for extra points. You would work but he is fair.

Microbiology lab was a interesting class, and a little tough. There is 2 exams and 10 quizzes in the class. The quizzes are fill in the blank, and some are multiple choice. The exams are 54 questions, and fill in the blank. He does show you your quiz grade and goes over them in class which is helpful. Study the information he gives in class on PP.

I got an A in this class for starters. Like other science courses, it requires you to put some effort inorder to succeed in the course. He is reasonable and will always want to get your input on the subject.

I learned a lot in his class. He is very clear on what is important to study and what is just extra information. Come to every class, print the power points, take good notes, STUDY and you will do well. He has a bit of a dry personality, but he cares and really wants you to learn. Great teacher, very organized. I took Dr. Cristiano for micro lecture and lab this semester. He is very straightforward with expectations and is excellent at presenting the material. Very well organized. -Attendance isn't mandatory but he gives quizzes @ beginning (THEY HELP) -In reference to another saying he doesn't give the test on paper: any lab you take @university(UH-Grad) will test you thu stations(HARDER)... his method of providing the pictures and questions on the screen is way easier. As for the time limit he gives MULTIPLE rounds to ask.

you don't need to buy any textbook, I unfortunately rented off amazon and didn't use it because everything came from his PowerPoint. He's a easy A if you put in the work i.e. study your PowerPoint, pay attention as he drops hints in class. He gives you materials needed to study, & will tell you prior to the test what to focus on, its a lab so questions build. If you do the work you should have no issue passing. Professor Richard Cristiano is intelligent and has a good teaching ability. He breaks down the course to your understanding with relative examples. It is an easy class honestly but you need to do the work. He gives no extra credit but there is enough opportunities to earn points. Attendance is compulsory to pass this class. Textbook is not required

I highly recommend Professor Cristiano's class. He gives good lectures that would help the student succeed in his class. Prof Cristiano will tell his students important details to review that will show up in his exams, so students needs to listen and take notes. This class will definitely help me in my HESI exam and when I get in the ADN program.

Hes one of the best professor at HCC. Sorry for my late review although my course ended 2 weeks ago. He cares about students, he would ask almost after every class if anyone had questions. Hes fair so dont expect he will give you 100 when you dont study. No need textbook. 99% of tests are from his slides on learning web. Easy A for me :)

Professor Cristiano is one of the best science professors I have taken at HCC! Honestly, if you just go over his powerpoints, then you're sure to get an A on the exams. It is helpful to attend his lectures because he'll tell you what material from the powerpoints will be on the exams, which is especially helpful for the short answer questions.

Great Professor, I'm so thankful I was lead to taking him. I'm sad its over with, I really enjoyed his lectures and explanations as well as examples to make you understand more on a level of everyday life.

I have never rated a professor before but professor Cristiano is the clearest professor I've ever had. His lectures are very articulate. I took him for micro, we didn't have homework but we did have 4 exams and 2 finals. You do have to study to get a good grade but you should not be lost in class.

Amazing professor for Micro Lab. I would say the best pro. Lab class. Very organize and go straight to the points. DONT need LAB book. but you have to pay attention in class bc all quizzes come from what he said in class. very tough grader. never tolerate for the wrong spelling. 1 report essay with more than 2 pages (single space) is a big deal!

4 quizzes, 3 test, 2 finals and 1 paper. The quizzes really help you get a feel for what the test will be like so while it seems like a lot it's actually really helpful. Honestly a great professor who wants student to learn but also do well. He doesn't just hand out A's you do have to work for them but if you put in the effort it's attainable.

I had a great experience in this class! I found the lectures to be very descriptive and easy to follow. Take notes and ACTUALLY pay attention in class and you will do fine! Yes, you have to study and put in the work. what's new though? The slides have all needed material for exams and quizzes. Lowest exam score gets dropped as well!

Dr. C is a good teacher. He is throughly organized. You have to work in this class because of the subject, but he gives you everything you need to succeed. You dont need the book as he gives you what you need in his powerpoints. Take him for lab too. He emphasized things several times in hislectures that would be tested. PrepareRead his ppts ahead!

Overall, his class was very difficult in my opinion. His test is base on the knowledge of whether you understood of what he is teaching or not. I stumble through the first 2 quiz but actually studying the material he provide and attended his online lecture had really help me. I would recommend his class if you want to actually learn the material.

Dr. Cristiano is very straight to the point and I think that's what I like about his teaching the most. I'm taking his Micro Lab at the moment and we have 2 exams, 5 quizzes, and lab experiments. You don't have to read 6 different chapters for exams because he gives recorded lectures in modules that aren't long and you just study from there. Yay!

Don't listen to the negative reviews regarding Dr.Cristiano. He doesn't teach with a textbook which is a plus.He has recorded lectures and PowerPoints that you can study from. He tells you what to expect in the test on the lecture videos.He makes this class easy.Overall,I think you should take this class if you seriously want to learn microbiology.

It is true he does not go by a text book, but he has power points and when you actually go through the power points he tells you EXACTLY what you need to know for the test. He gives bonus points. His test are not hard. All in all take this professor trust me.

I took it online and he does not really teach but rather reviews what will be covered on the exam for each chapters. He teaches only what you need to know. No textbooks just the powerpoints he provided will suffice. He can be moody thou but that's just his temperament. This class is test and quiz heavy, no homework assignments so study study!

He is very knowledgeable & keeps time. He breaks down complex concepts making one understand the material & will explain what you did not understand if you approach him after class. Took a 5-week summer for Micro Lecture + Lab. 1 quiz & test per week. The MAIN TIP I'll give is either SIT IN THE FRONT or listen to his uploaded lectures bc he talks VERY quiet. No hw, but his lectures are straightforward & he often reiterates important concepts on the tests. His extra credit is offering bonus points throughout quizzes/ exams.

Dr. Cristiano is an amazing Professor I took him for microbiology both lab and lecture and he made a difficult subject understandable. His lectures are clear, organized and straight to the point, he has a few quizzes and test but if you pay attention and look at the recorded lectures he has to review you will be fine.

Literally the best professor I've ever taken! He is soft spoken but all of his tests and quizzes are beyond easy. This is my second time taking micro and I'd take it with him again and again and again! No homework and his lectures are recorded which makes everything 10x easier.

He speaks little low but he bought a microphone so it could be easier for the class to understand him so respect him for that. He's a chill guy. His voice is mellow due to contracting Covid but his lectures are still great! He also have online lecture that helps a lot. The prof gives good feedback if you send him an email about the exam. He is straightforward and blunt but I like him as a professor a lot.

He is such a sweetheart! He does talk super low so sit closer to the front. You do lots of experiments in groups based on where you sit. His class is based on the tests only so make sure you are prepared for those. His powerpoints are exactly what will be on the test and the PP are not long or word heavy so they are easy to understand.
