GO VISIT HIM IN HIS OFFICE HOURS AND HE'LL LIKE U BETTER. I THINK THAT WORKS FOR MOST TEACHERS. HE'S REALLY FAIR AND SYMPATHETIC. HE'S KINDA FUNNY AND MAKES CLASS INTERESTING. HIS TESTS ARE A LIL DIFFICULT AND THERE'S A BIG ESSAY REQUIREMENT AT THE END.

If you're a good note taker, I recommend him. Most of his test questions are based on the lecture. I liked his tests because his study guides enabled me to study what was really on the tests. I think he's a great teacher!

I took him a year ago, but he was a really cool guy. He shows these videos throughout class that you have to take notes on b/c he tests on them. Don't do the reading until you get the study guide (well you could, but you would have to reread).

Highly recommended. Class does involve studying, but gives study guide and material you need to know for test. Great lectures, can be funny. Real clinical psychologist and brings real life exp to teaching. Can be snippy and doesn't encourage questions.

One of the best teachers at Valley. Expains concepts extremely well. Makes the subject interesting. If you really want to learn, take his class. I can't tell if his class is hard or not because I learned so much so quickly that it became easy.

great teacher. knows what he's talking about. if you take good notes the tests are no problem, since you get them beforehand. youll learn a lot.

He is very clear what he teaches. He let students use dictionary during exam, if students are from overseas. I learned a lot and got A. His test is very prepared and you can get A if you study a week before.

Prof. Torquato is my favorite professor at Valley College. Not only is he very well educated, he also has a great sense of humor. I always recommend my friends to take his classes. And yes, of course, he's a definite hottie.

come on...He is not HOT HOT AND HOT. His class was ok. I had better in SMC. I liked him. He is very helpful but it was not what I expected. His tests are hard even when he gives you the study guide. I got an A. I give him a passing grade.

One of the best professors I've EVER had. Be prepared to take a lot of notes, but he always presents info in a witty and interesting way. He's really wants students to learn the material, not be overwhelmed by it. Any student interested in Psychology should take one (or more!) of his classes.

Great professor. Really knows his stuff. If you are interested in psych you should take him. He gives you a copy of the test a week before. All you have to do is memorize to pass his test. But becareful because his tests are challenging and he usually puts about 100 questions on each test.

He is an excellent professor. His lectures were " good" and his study guides were very helpful.

I woulda rather had Torquato lecturing than watch those dumb vidoes everyday. But its coo...class was fun and he's a very caring professor and just cares about if you will succeed or not. Take him..u wont regret it. Just dont cheat, you'll be blacklisted from him.

Makes everything simple and easy to take in. Very helpful and knows his stuff, but can be a little too into himself and his vast knowledge of psychology. Besides that, easy A if you study.

That last rating obviously came from someone who has no idea what he's talking about. The videos stimulated discussions, much better than just lectures. This guy IS knowledgeable. I learned more from him that any since i've been at valley.

He knows so much on the subjuct and can recall verbatim. The only times I zoned out were with subjects I had no interst in- I still got an A. One of the top teachers at Valley!

i absolutely LOVED prof. torquato...hes funny,nice, and knows everyhting there is to know about psychology...psych majors = TAKE HIM! i also think hes a total hottie. :) cant wait to take psych 2 with him.

Dr.Torquato is a bit "colder" then some of the other psych. teachers, however that doesn't take away from him knowing about psychology. As long as you show up and take notes you'll get an A. He's a nice guy, just a little distant from his students. I promise you will learn alot.

those that dont like him obiviously werent even interested in psychology to begin with. if psychology is you interest, than take him because his lectures not only serve as helpful knowledge but inspire your interest in psych. the more you raise you hand and participate the more he'll like you. i recommend him over any other teacher.

Great teacher, you can pass if you study material and take all the quizes. He takes a hard subject and breaks it down so you understand, very helpful, nice guy!

He gives a study guide before each test that is almost word for word each multiple choice question.Almost 85% of the questions are answered in just his notes.There are also 5 possible essay questions on the study guide in which 2 show up on the test. So just decide what you want to get on your test and study accordingly. Be at every class,it helps

Very nice guy. He loves to answer questions although i dont know if its because he wants to help or boost his ego by proving how knowledgable he is. Anyway, he is a great teacher who really explains subject matter thouroughly. His class is a great example for what a college class should be like. Easy, entertaining, and extremely interesting.

Torquato is the Bomb. All you have to do is right your notes very very small so that way you can fit all of the lecture notes on 1 page which will be your cheat cheat for the test. Answer all the questions to the study guide and Kazaam! U have an easy "A". He is definitely a GPA booster. I hope that helps :)

He makes his classes interesting with side humor and good illustrations. READ the material and make sure to complete the study guide and you WILL pass the test. Go to class every day - he'll give you extra points for it. Not a hard teacher, but you DO have to put in some work for your grade.

he's a pretty good teacher. you can have a cheat sheet for the test. make sure to read the book and go to class (extra credit) to get the notes. i had an 89.6% in the class and he still gave me a B ...so that should tell you what kinda grader he is. good luck if you take him!

This teacher is really a great one. He ony grades u on 4 test droping the lowest. He grades on a curve and is really funny. You should pay attention in his lectures to pass the test take good notes because u could use them on ur cheat sheet and ur set. Also I never read the book so it was my easy way out. Take him if u r a listener. U'll love it!!

I had this guy for honors 1 psychology and for psychology 2.. His Test sucks, even though he drops the lowest score.. its almost impossible to get an A, unless you study intently ...I suggest taking all your psychology classes at LA MISSION... Dr. Johnson is great and her test are easy an easy A . she wont mess up your GPA

Mr. Torquato is a great teacher. He is very clear and unlike most teachers, he really cares about his students. He always makes sure everyone in class gets the material. He gives very clear study guides and his lectures are very detailed. At first I thought his jokes were going to get old, but as time went on, i found him very funny. TAKE HIM!

Very interesting class lectures. He is really passionate about psychology and knows a lot of great info. However, his tests are really really hard and it is nearly impossible to earn an A in that class because the grade is based solely on test scores.

students seem to really like him, but i was bored to death in his class. but i guess thats because my interest for pyschology is nada. he's an okay professor. you have to study for his test and will need the book especially if like me you zone out during lecture time. side note: guy's memory is extra good so expect to be remembered

One of the hardest classes I've had. Lectures were clear and very informative, but the tests are EXTREMELY difficult. Solid understanding of both the book and lectures are critical if you want to do well. If you are passionate about psych, this is the professor to take. You'll have to work your butt off, but it's worth it.

An excellent teacher and an easy grader. Everyone should get an A from him if they give any effort at all. My only problem with him is that he brings his religious bias into the classroom instead of leaving religion out of a biology class. He makes no secret of his belief in creationism.

He's an alright teacher. My class was at 8am. I don't recommend taking it that early. You get extra credit for coming to class. MUST read the book. Tests are difficult, you can use a "cheat sheet" for each test. He drops your lowest. Tests are the only things graded.

Professor Torquato teaches a University level class.Book and lectures are important. Believes in educating people. He has a genuine quality, and presents himself as a serious educator. If you are a serious student, you will appreciate this class.

Do study cause tesr R kind of hard but If u study u'll pass. No essays on test or du in class. Just short answer but if written on ur notes u'll be abel 2 answer them. Professor Torquato was a fun, enthusiastic teacher. He loved his job, & he loved the knowledge he was able to pass on. If you had questions, he had answers. The tests were very hard, despite the cheat sheet you were allowed to use, which was one you created on your own, using ur notes/text. (btw) he's not hot; he's kinda old, but he's super cool

Really great professor. Second Psych. prof. I ever took at Valley b/c I didnt pass Mossler's class. He answees any question u ask, and the tests r kinda hard. He lets u use a cheat-sheet (a page of notes) on the test. That should be enough to pass the test.

I took Professor Torquato a few years back and loved him. He's very knowledgeable and passionate. I went to Berkeley after taking him at a community college and his teaching is on par with the professors there. He belongs at a University so it's a gift to students that he teaches at a community college. Take him!
